Video summary

The video documents a typical day at Third Street Barbell, a gym in Sacramento founded on the belief that community is its most vital asset. The creator highlights an upcoming collaboration with the Sacramento Run Club for a combined lifting and running event, emphasizing that while he may not be able to run tonight due to fatigue from previous efforts, his focus remains on consistent daily movement rather than perfect execution. He reflects deeply on the nature of powerlifting and business growth as long-term, often painful grinds rather than romanticized sprints, noting that after four years of intense personal development and solitary work, he has learned to appreciate the mundane but essential routine of showing up every day to lift weights and breathe hard. A significant portion of the vlog addresses common misconceptions about fitness being exclusive to wealthy individuals by breaking down the actual cost of healthy eating in today's economy. The creator argues that while prices have risen since his early days, nutritious meals like a double meat burrito at Chipotle or bulk chicken breast remain affordable enough for families on tight budgets if planned correctly. He demonstrates this by preparing large batches of protein and salad to feed multiple people cheaply, debunking the idea that high-protein diets require expensive supplements or exotic foods, while also humorously admitting his current struggle with maintaining a strict diet due to upcoming events. Beyond nutrition, the video explores the creator's evolving relationship with physical challenges, particularly running, which he admits is far outside his comfort zone compared to his powerlifting background. He recounts attempting to run nearly two miles alongside Ian from the Run Club at an under-ten-minute pace, a feat that feels impossible given his history of being out of shape during college basketball days. Despite feeling like an impostor in this new athletic endeavor and joking about warriors timing their morning routines around battles, he stresses that surrounding oneself with like-minded people provides the necessary energy to push through limitations. The vlog concludes by celebrating the unique spirit of Sacramento's community, expressing gratitude for his followers who witness these unglamorous but authentic moments of growth, before heading home to rest and prepare for future training sessions.

I want to say typical day got a couple events going on those I don all on Third Street barbell Sacramento California one thing that made me create the gym to begin with is the community Factor an idear popped in my head a couple weeks ago and we partnered with the Sacramento run Club we're going to do a liftting run tonight I probably won't lift I'll try to go for the run but I'm going to get my lift in right now we're in a good flow right now a lot of work a lot of movement the Gym's growing Community is growing perils pushing things are pretty solid man people want to make it pretty and want to make it beautiful flying around to the Lamborghini shirtless oil up but the beauty of powerlifting the beauty of the real grind the beauty of business the beauty of growth is that it's not one Sprint it's numbingly bored painful things you do every single damn day that's why I probably am not so uh romanticized or inspired to Vlog because I've been in the deepest of grinds for four years you know with business with my personal growth hanging out a lot of time alone really being alone digging into my brain digging into my heart digging into my spirit of what what I'm doing here why I'm doing it what's keeping me going what's next I don't LIF 700 lbs no more but every single day I lift something every single day I get my heart breathing every single day I get my lungs pushing quarter plate uh do quarter basically like three sets at 12 you said quarter plate [ __ ] I got 12 yeah I'm going to try to do 225 just head to the NFL me and saquan oh yeah I had like a pound of salad yesterday and I haven't [ __ ] yet I got literally a pound of lettuce and I it's still in there somewhere isn't that supposed to help with that that's what I thought that's the it's creating the problem used be a warrior man what happened to me D I'm such a [ __ ] now just like my standard of like what's hard has gone I know so up imagine Warriors trying to time their morning poop around their workout and [ __ ] I'm I know exactly what time I [ __ ] every morning 10:32 a.m. not when you're in a not when you're taking over all of Europe as a Roman you didn't have time oh dud no I'm [ __ ] on dead bodies if I'm them yeah yeah yeah I don't think you [ __ ] you just don't [ __ ] Bro think about being literally in war with a sword like your arms always bleeding oh you're just [ __ ] yourself you mean like you I don't even know like you have to be consuming things that not die I don't know if you're even consuming though like when do you eat [ __ ] no when oh oh they have like encampments and [ __ ] yeah no dude they would go to war don't quote me they would go to war and fight like all day they're like all right you go that way we'll go this way I think they kind of do that right I think that was only like 20 years in America or maybe that's just movies SAR no in America they line up and say you ready that's you ready hold on they're playing drums they're playing drums letting you know I'm coming oh yeah all right there you go come on OWI what do we got triceps yeah I think it's uh the V handle or whatever like push Downs push down push down I've been doing them on my knees pause but like it's been way better I've been doing them on my knees and it's actually never felt as comfortable or [Music] natural yeah [Music] I think one of the biggest myths I still see on the internet and after doing agent stream and watching some of the streamers and new content creators in the space kind of join their fitness journey as they' be calling it is uh that it's only for rich people 20 years ago I might be able to get that argument you know like a bag of chips was 0 you would grab you know McDonald's Happy Meal for $4.99 but the fact of the matter is now Chipotle cost me 20 bucks a double meat burrito at Chipotle which is what you would need is literally like $20 and so there's no way you can argue and I know all these people are struggling with habits this guy this entire bag is like zero Cals I mean it's not but it's basically zero Cals cost me like $2.99 maybe three bucks then because we have that event tonight I won't be able to cook normally I cook each meal separate um but tonight I'm going to prep a little bit so i' normally cook my first meal around 1 or two and then I'll come back and cook my second but I'm going to cook both which is easy easy here's like a pound of chicken chicken breast an entire pound and a half $8 right so that entire meal even though a pound and a half of chicken is a lot for most people I'm a big boy and I'm also trying to have protein needs um but if you're trying to feed a family you could literally go two of those that's $16 two of these that's 18 bucks and I could feed four people fairly healthy and very Sati full salad pack for the volume pound of chicken and one and a half servings of Caesar salad dressing all weight out now bad probably 100 protein [ __ ] t a fiber baby carbs and maybe 20 30 G of fat with the dressing 1.5 mil 207 lb I guess now is when I like call out Nick bear and the rest of these fake hybrids that think they can keep up with me jokes aside I probably haven't ran over a half mile probably since college basketball and I probably weighed about 180 lbs that was tough it was tough but again like I mentioned earlier in the Vlog literally the reason we open Third Street literally the reason the clothing's called good company is like with your correct environment with the correct people with the correct energy um you can kind of do anything you know like my lungs are okay I've been jumping rope and I've been walking but definitely not a runner and uh shout out shout out to Ian who led the run today he he paced me the whole time which was cool he does have a race on Sunday so he was going slow so he's just messing today but we were under a 10-minute mile uh for over like 1.59 miles uh which again is way more than I've ever pulled so um while training while in the deficit late night I'm literally in bed 40 minutes ago every single night you guys think I'm capping I'm in bed I'm showering and getting in bed at 7 at night so out of my routine again is this a feet a Superman feet no but the point is it's way out of my wheelhouse and if you surround yourself with like-minded people and the correct people you probably get it done so Shout Out Sacramento run Club this won't be the end of our collaborations um I'm going to go home catch some C we got a regular leg day and podcast as usual man hopefully you guys enjoyed the Vlog hopefully you enjoyed kind of my boring days and some of these events we throw cuz I do think um I think that's where we do well I think our community and the community of Sacramento um the magic and the specialness of the city is in the people so I like to Showcase that and appreciate you guys folling along man Vlogs when they coming don't know when like subscribe appreciate your mic catch you the next one
