Spurs To Offer Cash Plus Richarlison for Ndiaye? | Everton News Daily

David Moyes has given his pre-match press conference ahead of Everton's trip to Bournemouth tomorrow. Tough game. But the Toffees go down to the Vitality Stadium and Everton will be looking to build on what has been a really positive start to the season. Beat Crystal Palace last week in the opening Premier League game 2-0 and then followed that up with a 4-0 win at Deepdale in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. David Moyes was um is obviously got one eye well, probably one and a half eyes if that's possible on the transfer window as well as games at the moment. There's been a lot of speculation about Iliman Ndiaye. That's come out Manchester City, even Spurs are sources of monitoring that. Uh and obviously the links with Jack Grealish continuing and Jack Grealish story broke yesterday saying he just wants to go to Everton out of the teams interested in him. That was including Aston Villa as well. David Moyes was asked about Iliman Ndiaye's position and also a possible return to Everton for Jack Grealish. This is what he had to say. >> Well, again, I wouldn't talk about players and individual players at other clubs. Jack's not at at our club. He was brilliant for us, great boy, but it's wrong for me to talk about him. He's at another club. Uh We're most certainly not in a hurry to sell our best players, that's for sure. >> With regard to Iliman, just can you kind of put into context just how important he is and almost how important it is to keep hold of him? >> Uh Well, I've just said I don't think we need to do anything we've got nothing to be concerned about as far as I know. We've had no contact from from any club. We Somebody told me we had contact from I think it was Al-Hilal during the summer. We had nothing from them, so uh so a lot of stuff that floats around is is not always true. Maybe this is true, but certainly the stuff previous wasn't. >> David Moyes's body language there, the unfolding of the arms, keeping them crossed when he was answering about Iliman Ndiaye. Um Listen, it's an interesting one, isn't it? The Tottenham have liked and Jai for months. Man City have liked and Jai for months. We'll either up the bid, we're waiting to see. The City stuff has obviously taken it's taken a life on its own, hasn't it? They they've moved people out, got people in. They're still looking at Cody Gakpo and you know, stuff today saying it's a Gakpo or En-Nesyri for them. Um and if not, Tottenham want Gakpo, but they also want En-Nesyri and Jai as well. So, I can understand them coming off the Man City space as a bit more of a one of them, but listen, they're probably offering big big wages as well. It's London. Players are drawn to London whether we like it or not. But they've a moist, you know, sort of they are saying they doesn't really want to sell En-Nesyri and Jai. Don't really want to sell your best players, of course. Everton, could they replace En-Nesyri and Jai if they sold them now? That remains to be seen, doesn't it? But it's saying En-Nesyri and Jai. Jack Grealish, that feels like a deal that was always going to be the last day or so of the transfer window. His position, Manchester City obviously trying to hold on as long as they could to see whether anyone would actually pay money for Jack, going to buy him outright. Um that hasn't happened as yet. Everton still want a loan. It's complicated cuz he's into the final year. Um [snorts] there was sort of a story a while ago saying Everton could get him on loan, but then it won't if they kept him beyond that, they'd have to pay Manchester City sort of a smaller fee for that agreement to be done. We did that with Gareth Barry years ago. So, whether or not that ends up washing through, obviously Everton's position is strengthened by Jack Grealish. Reportedly, and I don't think this is a secret. I think Everton is his preferred destination providing the two clubs can come to an agreement. So, it's a watch this space, but like I said, it felt like this was one that was going to run till the the last couple of days of the transfer window. And it certainly looks like that's going to be the case now. On to Bournemouth tomorrow, it's going to be a real tough game. Everton did win there last season, though. Everton have been quite good away from home under David Moyes. But obviously, with the transfer window being open, the right-back position has been a huge bone of contention for Evertonians. It's a the thing certainly on this channel where I get asked more than any other question, where's the right-back? Who are we getting? Everton still in the market for a right-back, but in that absence, Nathan Patterson has been playing there. Now, Seamus Coleman had played there for best part of 18 months under David Moyes since he came in. Nathan Patterson has moved into that position because Seamus Coleman has told the manager he doesn't want to play there anymore. David Moyes was asked how well he thinks Nathan Patterson has done in that position. This is what he had to say. >> You said he's your position. >> does. Nathan's thorough that he's getting the opportunity to start playing the games. He's a He's desperate to play. He's desperate to show what he can do. And uh by the way, I think he's shown up really well in what he's done. I think that uh you know, it's made a few people maybe question us talking about bringing in another right-back. I think they've seen Nathan Patterson play really well. So, he's uh he's done well and he he's not a player who's questioning being out of position. So, we're really happy for him. >> Do you like that from your players if they're they're willing to go, I'll I'll step up and and I'll have a go at that? >> Well, I think when you've got a small squad like we have, we need players who are going to be flexible and play different positions and and accept it they may have to do different jobs at different times. Great example was was how James Garner played when he went right-back and actually I think maybe the first game of last season he might have had to play left-back because we didn't have Meiko. So, we want players who are going to be not going to question it, want to do the job. And uh And we've had to do that a couple of times now. Paris and Armstrong had to play a bit wider last year in a couple of games for us at different times. So, with a smaller squad what we've got, we have to try and make the players flexible. And and thankfully we've got a few who who are so >> There you go. Um Rarely praised Millwall, didn't he? But like a little bit of a possible dig at Jake O'Brien as well thrown in for good measure, but Ebit N'Diaye still in the market for a right back. Rolleston or right back isn't actually a specialized right back, is he? But we'll wait and see. It should you know, yeah. I've said it too many times now. Let's see what happens with this right back position. And the manager was asked about Christian Nørgaard as well. Obviously we signed a player from Arsenal. We've not seen him at all. He is carrying an injury. He was asked how far away he is and also gave an injury update on James Garner and Hayden Hackney as well. This is what the manager had to say. >> Hayden Hackney had a it had rolled his ankle. Rolled his ankle in midweek at at last week, so that's why he didn't play in midweek. Uh we'll see. It'll be touch and go for Hayden, I think. Uh what's the other one? Uh Christian is still not he's not making great progress at the moment, so it's not something which we're we're probably going to get him back quickly. Uh so we'll just need to see how that develops. Well, he's not fine because he's not played any games in preseason, so it we we probably if we hadn't the injury to to Hayden, we wouldn't have we wouldn't have started him in the game certainly against Preston. But he's made a remarkably quick recovery from a from his hernia, which is great. As a player you don't see it very often with the players pushing to get back quicker and and and in time. Jimmy done that. I think he he done great in the game. I still think he's off his levels at the moment, but it's the minutes he needs in the games in these these sort of game bits of the games, which hopefully you'll you'll soon pick up. >> There you go. We'll have to wait and see. Don't know what's come on what sort of gone on with Christian Nørgaard. Did he arrive with that injury? Has he picked up an injury as he was trying to get fit? David Moyes wasn't really that forthcoming on it. We're going to have to obviously wait a couple more weeks before we we maybe see Christian Nørgaard show. Um James Garner and Martin Kelly played tomorrow. Hopefully he'll be okay and Hayden Hackney the manager said he's a bit touch and go after rolling an ankle so it just shows you with the injuries and obviously no Séamus Coleman either at the minute so Everton are a little bit light there in there right now with the injuries but hopefully we'll have enough to get a positive result tomorrow. According to Bild the German newspaper outlet Everton target Jean-Matteo Bahoya wants to move to England. His club Eintracht Frankfurt expect him to leave by deadline day. The 21-year-old played 27 times in the Bundesliga last season, scored three goals and registered four assists. He has been clocked as the quickest player in the Bundesliga so that'll give Everton a little bit of pace that we don't have. That's the link today whether or not that's you know Everton go after that. It will all be obviously dependent on Illiman Ndiaye as well but that's what is uh being reported in Germany today. And more on Illiman Ndiaye according to a couple of sources today Tottenham are watching that situation very carefully. Um And Richarlison is uh is back in. The reports today saying that his preferred destination is back to Everton. Um Everton are thought to want to change the front line. Beto could well leave the football club before the transfer window shuts. Richarlison is one who is under consideration. He made 32 Premier League appearances for Tottenham last season, scored 11 times. He was their top scorer. And he did play 43 games overall last year with 12 goals. That is in all competitions. So, he was was available most weeks. Um obviously loves having but come back, you know, what I'm fighting for a place up front alongside Cherno Barry, so wait and see on that one. And according to Colombian journalist Julian Capera, Everton have matched Nottingham Forest's bid for Crystal right back, right wing-back Daniel Muñoz. Forest bid 22 million this morning. Um and apparently according to him, Everton have matched it. I haven't seen it anywhere else confirmed, but that is in the news today. Muñoz played 46 times for Crystal Palace last season, scored five goals including four in the Premier League. He also scored twice at this summer's World Cup as well. He is 30 years of age. He's 30 in May, and although that puts a few people off, but full of energy, gets up and down, is creative as well. We'll wait and see whether anything comes of it. Everton have been very, very heavily linked with the player. And last Saturday after the Palace game, in fact, when he got brought off the pitch, looked like he was ready to join Everton. He seemed very enthusiastic with the Evertonians. But listen, a move to Forest makes sense as well for him obviously going back and playing under Oliver Glasner who's just had two very successful years at Crystal Palace.
