Well, guys, unfortunately, man, all good Shoot. It helps to have the microphone. Look, guys, all good things must come to an end. We made it through this entire series without messing the mic placement up. >> And on the last episode >> That's how it is. Incredible show. Uh guys, I really can't express to you guys how much it means to us that you guys have supported us throughout this series. We really do appreciate that. For all the people who have, you know, subscribed to the channel, joined the channel, all the Patreon members that we've met along the way. This has been an incredible show, not only for our channel and for our growth, but just in terms of like storytelling and just as people, like uh I don't know. I feel like I've grown a lot watching the show. >> look at motorcycles the same anymore. Every time I see him, I'm like >> That's what I'm saying. >> I'm like Jax Teller. >> From now on, I won't just think about the fact that my dad rode one all the time. I'll think about the fact that uh still going down over there in Redwood Country. But anyways, man, a lot's got to happen in this episode, obviously. Our personal theory on this channel is Jax has to meet the mayhem at this point because he's just done too much. He's broken too many rules. He killed a president. Self-defense. Would it be unsatisfactory to a lot of people if Jax got away with self-defense in that situation? I think uh a lot of people wouldn't see justice in that. And I think at the end of such a show filled with carnage, we need justice. I hate to say it cuz I really like Jax's character a lot, but I feel like the man has to meet the mayhem at this point. Um >> Did his crow fly straight? Question. [music] >> It flew straight to the end, and it was all like But sometimes that's all it takes. Like you can ride 700 mi home from vacation, be 5 mi from the house, but if you fall asleep, you swerve off the road, your crow run runs into a tree. So, with that being said, man, there's a lot of characters I want to take a second and remember before we get started. We like to keep our intros a little short, but I think it's worth it. But um Opie, obviously Opie, I'm going to miss Opie. Uh I've missed this character since he's died, but being with all the other crew members has really given me a a lot of peace with that situation. And I guess that's what happens when things get tough, you rely on people, family and stuff. And I do feel like since we spent so much time with these characters, they're like family in a way. [music] I'm going to miss everyone, man. I'm going to miss Opie, I'm going to miss Roosevelt, Tara. I I'll even miss Gemma's character cuz she was an awesome >> Yeah. >> I'll miss Unser putting his nose everywhere. I'll miss I'll miss Nero a lot, man. But I think the reason I kind of like it being left that way is because sometimes in life you know everything doesn't always work out perfectly in the end and all the information doesn't get you know brought to light like sometimes people do carry things to their grave, you know? And I feel like in this show they also did it and they made it very real. But I but I mean I just see what you're saying. You're observing that >> [music] >> that was a loose end. I just appreciate the loose end. >> Yeah. >> Because there's nothing I can do about it at this point. Like I have to appreciate it. Um but it did it wrapped up so well. I think that anytime you have a show, you know, when you start calling back to the imagery and the music from like the original episode it obviously just gets your emotions flowing and stuff. Um and I just think this finale was just so well done. And I just I never really thought I'd get so invested in a bunch of bikers. >> Right. I I thought that the whole time. But also something I have noticed from watching TV shows. If you pay attention in the first episode like pilot, I feel like there's a lot of foreshadowing in every episode because I feel like even when you go back to The Walking Dead you like got imagery. I don't know. I feel like if from now on I'm going to pay close attention in pilots. >> Because you know that it's going to parallel the finale. >> Yeah, sometimes. Sometimes it does. >> Like if you if the first thing you see of Jax is riding on his motorcycle, like obviously the last scene might be riding on your motorcycle. >> Yeah. >> It doesn't always end like that. I mean, I guess it wasn't like that for Clay necessarily, but but I do know I mean a good TV show should definitely have continuity. >> Yeah. >> Um I think it was a really good idea giving Chibs the presidency. I feel like he's the one who deserves it. >> It was very fair and deserved. >> VP to Tig was great just because like who else would you give it to in that point, you know? I feel like everyone else is a little too new. And that's something I love about the show. Like we really did pick up characters. >> Yeah, like if you look at every season one to season seven, the club so different. >> Yeah. Like um you know, The Walking Dead was really good with that, too. >> Yeah. >> Um and a lot of other shows do that, but I feel like this show did that particularly well. Like by the end like I absolutely love these characters. >> Mhm. >> Like particularly Rat and Happy. Like I you know, I like the other characters, too, but those two characters in particular it's just really hard not to like >> That's what we were saying when B characters like can carry. >> Yeah. >> Like that makes a show really good. >> Yeah, I mean 100%. Like >> Even C characters in the show can carry because Venus is not really a B, she's kind of a C cuz she wasn't here a whole lot, but like she can carry, too. So it's like um every every character held its own in this series. >> Yeah, and the thing I liked about all of them is I really appreciated all of them a lot >> Mhm. >> without really needing a lot from them. Like I didn't need a lot of like dialogue. I didn't need like whole episodes dedicated to their backstories. It's just we went through a lot of traumatic stuff together. We went through a lot of war together. >> Yeah. >> And at the end of the day like you just look over and there they were. And you know, like we're watching Band of Brothers and it's like you see these guys from all over the world. And you know, they're put in this situation. They're brought together, you know? And >> [music] >> um you don't really have to like know too much about someone when you're really going through the [ __ ] with them. Like you know, and and I just like that part. You guys get what I'm trying to say? I like that part about the show a lot. The brotherhood, the continuity was It was great. I feel like I really really like it more watching it at this point in life because we live in a time where like people are lonelier than ever. Like, don't get me wrong. Like, we have a good social life and stuff, but I mean, we could always use like more friend I mean, we're busy, don't get me wrong, but you could always use more people who who like care about you and stuff. And I feel like society isn't as social for a lot of people as it used to be. And I think that this show just just stands up so well to time because like we're missing a lot. >> It was charming. I know it's called charming charming, but it was charming to me because even though you would say their community is, you know, kind of crazy a little bit. >> It was a community. >> had a community and like whenever someone went down like a mom or something, >> [music] >> you always heard like someone wanting to take care of their kid or, you know, this and that. And I feel like it was more when Opie's wife was in the picture, you could tell it was more of like a you know, yeah, Donna. When she was there, it was more of that, but like uh >> Shout out to Donna, by the way. >> Yeah. >> One of our first terrific scenes. But I know what you mean. Like uh this show did a really good job at encapsulating this this small community, this small-town America. And like um >> In a weird way, it's kind of fantasy writing to me because, you know, I don't I'm not used to being in >> to live in a society like that a little bit. >> Yeah, I'm not used to things like that, but the fact that they can like operate and like run amongst us is pretty crazy. >> Yeah, every time I go into a public place, the person looks at me like I'm [ __ ] stupid and they give me an [laughter] attitude. Wow. >> Wow. >> Yeah, this this really is an all-time show, guys. Like uh you know, if if you guys have been listening to me talk like in the outros, you know I grew up in a body shop. Um >> Your dad rides motorcycles? >> Yeah, well my dad didn't like have anything to do with the body shop really. He just worked there for a minute. But my dad has a tree company. But my mom was a secretary at a body shop for a little bit. >> Like Gemma? >> Really impressionable years in my life from the time I was like nine till I was like 15 or 16, I used to go up there every summer because my dad wouldn't let me stay home. He wanted me to go work and learn things. And so like I mentioned it like just seeing the vibe of the shop and stuff, it's just so nostalgic for me in a way because um obviously I don't really go to body shops anymore. And um they used to be such a huge part of my life, right? >> [music] >> And uh I think this show really brought out a lot of nostalgia for me in that way and I think that you know, I would do anything to just go back to those times in a way. Just for like one day to just go to work with my mom and like go have to like clean the shop and carry all the hot ass trash cans to the dumpster and struggle to pick them up and to break down radiators. It'd be fun. >> an Atlanta sign? >> Yeah, I drew an Atlanta Braves logo on the concrete. My dad made me use toothpicks and a toothbrush and it took me like a whole summer, but I finally got it up. Um >> Yeah, if you're a dude who likes to work on your motorcycle and cars and you know, things of that nature, I bet you just love this show. You're probably like, "Heck yeah." >> because like you know, even like the culture and the vibe around like the body shops probably so different now for better or worse, because you used to really just be able to be yourself and stuff. And I know half the people >> think when you go to the body shop. >> What? >> Just nothing. He's like yeah I was like well why are you blocking the door? And next thing you know I'm like fighting with four dudes in there. It was just it was embarrassing. But no they're idiots. That's what I mean that's what that's what like I went to go get some paperwork for my oil guy and like this guy wouldn't let me in the door. He was like ego blocking me. It's almost like they had something in there they weren't supposed to have. And then he called me an [ __ ] when he walked out he called me no he called me a dick. He's like that guy that guy's a [ __ ] dick or something like that. So I was younger so I stick my head out the door and I'm like what the It became this whole embarrassing thing. I don't conduct myself that way. Yeah I realized it's just not worth it at this point like I don't really care but at the time >> Going along with what you said times times have changed at the body shop. >> Things have just changed yeah like at the time I just felt like we had a disagreement so we had it out but looking back it's like now it's like it's just now times are just more sensitive I think is what I'm trying to say and like I feel like the body shop's probably changed a lot too. Um Yeah man I don't know like it's it's hard to stay focused cuz I have so many thoughts going through my mind mainly cuz I I can't believe Jax just ended up getting in a wreck with blood just pouring from his head like that. I feel like that was a lot more about like trying to preserve her legacy than to care about the kids cuz this whole entire this whole entire situation could have been different had Gemma had a completely different like >> [music] >> If she would have cared more about the kids. >> Well, not only that, if she would have cared more about her kids, like Gemma's problem is I'm I'm sure she did love her kids or her grandkids, but she cared a lot about her legacy and her ego, too, right? And I feel like, you know, her killing Tara was like, "You're trying to take the kids away from me." Even though it was never really just about her and like It's really like I I hated to see her die and I hated seeing them carrying her off in the end, but gosh, she made me sick in this show. >> But I think something that this show could have done a little differently to make me more like, I don't know, sympathetic to Gemma in a way cuz the towards the end I started to just really not give a damn about her because like she was doing things that was stupid. Yeah. But I think if they would have made it seem like she had the grandsons back a lot more rather than like kind of act like stoned and like dumb around You know what I'm saying? Just like have her head on straight more. >> Yeah, it was more about just trying to prove that she could be a good grandma rather than being a good grandma. >> Yeah, she's like, "I can live this life and do it." but she like never really kept her head on straight too much. So it was like it was hard to be sympathetic for her in that moment. Would I think if if they would have made her a better grandmother, I would have been more upset. >> Yeah, I mean yeah, I could have been more upset had they made her a better grandmother. We're not out like doing what what immature minds would consider adult things, right? But Gemma was never willing to give any of that up. Like when you have kids in the picture, you have to like you you can't live like that. Like you can't live like everyone else in that way. And Gemma was just never willing to do that. Like she was never willing to just like She didn't have to be involved in any of this really. Like she was never at the gun meetings. She never had to move any coke. She never had to do any of that. She just continued to stick her nose in people's business and like >> In a weird way she was the final boss. >> Which was like >> Jax had to handle everything under the sun you could imagine. They went to Ireland and back. >> [music] >> And the final boss is his own mother. >> And think about how many times Gemma Think about how many days she spent with Clay. How many missed opportunities she had to like just do something different. You know what I mean? Like I don't know. It just seems like really hard to sympathize with her in the end even though I know like I'm supposed to and I and I do feel bad. >> still had a weird attachment to her because I feel like she's relatable in a way that like every person in your family member is not a perfect person, but when they give you love, like a perfect example is her relationship with Chucky. Like Chucky kind of knew she sucked. Like he knows deep down she sucks, but because she shows Chucky love it's like it's like maybe your Aunt Kathy. Like maybe she's done some things in her past that was naughty or something, but she Aunt Kathy just gives us so much love. >> ain't done things in her past that's naughty. She's just a [ __ ] drunk. That's Gemma. >> Well, I mean that just speaks to, >> [music] >> you know, other people cuz like, you know, there are selfish people kind of like Gemma, and you can love them, and you can understand that they're never really going to truly care about you or pick you. They're always going to pick themselves and stuff, and you can love them through that, and that just maybe you just have more capacity for love and you know um Gemma didn't really have a lot of capacity for that. I mean she I do believe she loved Nero. But that's what I'm saying she also loved her ego like her ego was the death of her. Like she needed an ego death. >> Yeah. >> She never really got one and like uh it's unfortunate but I feel like most people probably go out that way. That's why I like when old people are super crabby and you talk to them and they're just mean and I just think to myself like like I understand you're old and you're hurting and stuff and I I do sympathize for that cuz we're all going to face that if we're lucky but it's like man on some level dude like if life is a game you the only way you're really going to win it is to not get to the late stages of your life and just be a selfish crab. >> You know what's crazy between me and you I don't know why but like because we work together y'all older people gravitate towards us. >> Cuz we're nice and polite. >> But they just like always like choose us to be around and it's like I I mean I always liked that but I always wondered why I guess. >> Yeah cuz >> Sorry that was just a side note. I think that's why I resonate with Unser and I'm always rooting for Unser because I was like you know that's probably the guy who would come talk to me. >> We also worked at Waffle House for like a long time and we got really good at talking to old people. >> Yeah. >> But no I mean I grew up around old people like my mom used to make me go to my granddad's house a a lot which don't sound like you know a lot but it was actually her granddad. He was like really old so like I always had to meet like tons of old people cuz he was like a rock in the community type of guy right? And so I was always meeting like old people like my whole life. Like the church I went to was only old people and like uh I don't know I just got really good at like appreci- I actually like to talk to old people a lot more because young people are just full of [ __ ] all the >> I love them because they just share so much like brilliant things. Like every time I leave a conversation with the older person I feel like I'm I gained a little bit. Whereas sometimes when I'm with younger people I either feel mad or >> [laughter] >> annoyed >> or I'm like why are y'all so lying? >> Are you like wonder how come I just asked you six straight questions about yourself and all you do is keep talking about yourself? >> [laughter] >> Cuz that's the biggest issue. >> reciprocate. But old people always reciprocate. >> That's our biggest issue is like we'll meet someone and this is after we'll be like, "So tell me about" and she'll ask like 15 questions about that person and they won't ask her one damn thing about her and it's just like a constant thing that we run into. >> Yeah. >> But not the friends that we have. We have good friends. But when we meet people we we realize that a lot. >> Yeah. >> But we also understand that a lot of people just don't have their social skills including us. >> Yeah. I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm a social peach. I'm out there like the socialliest. >> But you had enough self-awareness to realize that and so you try to make sure that like you ask people about them. That's something I really appreciate about >> when I leave people too I'm always like, "Have a nice day." >> But see Gemma never did that. That's the full circle moment here. Gemma like was that age in life and like she grew up to be that old and she just never really was able to self-reflect. >> Yeah. Like if a officer pulled us over we would listen to the officer and then like go on about our day but she was willing to like punch the officer and go to jail. >> biting them and like >> [laughter] >> raging them into a fight and like just or like uh You know what I'm saying? Just like doing everything in her power to just be like uncooperative. >> Yeah. >> Because being cooperative to authority affects her ego. And I mean this is the Sons of Anarchy. She's a lady of anarchy. She doesn't like organized authority. I don't either. I mean I don't like being told what to do, you know, to But you know, like within reason none of us do. So um I mean that's a big reason we started YouTube. I just kind of got tired of being told what to do by people. You know? >> kind of goes along with Jax because his whole his whole arc from start to finish I don't really know how to explain it. Like I can't say it was good or bad in a way. >> It was very human. I mean it's just like sometimes like sometimes people are just given the life they're given, you know? And sometimes you you open up doors and you start avenues when you're young kind of like Jax did because of like his father and his mother and stuff and like he never really like, you know, kind of like Juice. Like Juice is a Juice sucks, but you know, he was just a young kid at one point and like he just didn't know any better, you know, kind of like It's just It's just raw. It's just raw and real and it's like uh >> what I kind of appreciate about it because, you know, Jax could have been like, "Okay, yeah, I'll move my family." Then show over. Like, you know what I'm saying? >> And something else I like about the show is everyone's sitting there thinking, "Well, Jax, you know, why don't you just take your family and leave and just forget the club, you know, you're And it And it always seems like on paper it's so simple, right? But we all know reality is not that simple. Like >> He's getting stuff shipped in from Irishmen monthly, weekly, guns. How can you just be like, "Okay, I'mma get up and leave that." Like, the guns have to go somewhere. You can't just do that. Then you go to jail. They're going to obviously know. >> I just like the fact that this show kept kept Jax constantly balancing duty, obligation, um his responsibility to his club. Like, you know, it wouldn't have been simple to leave, but I I think the show really really done a good job of just like explaining when you're really living life and you're really in these situations, you know, it's it's never that simple and things are just really complicated. And I think that because of the circumstances of Jax's life and you know, everyone else's life involved, I just feel like it just made for like a big mess and there really wasn't much he could have done differently. >> Yeah. >> There's a lot he could have done differently, but you know, you live and you learn, you know, you don't have the benefit of hindsight. So, Jax did the best he could. At the end of the day, he became a killer and a murderer, um but that's just the life kind of the life he inherited, please please. >> Um moral of the story, I think, is it's hard to go legit once you kill your first person, sell your first drug, do all that, I feel like you go down a rabbit hole of dopamine that that gives you and then you can't leave it. >> Is that what it is? Thanks for telling me. I'll stay away. >> No, I mean I just think, you know. I don't know. I mean we all do that. We all look at people and think, "Why are you the way you are?" Like I just can't Like you Like a lot of people probably look at me and think like, "Why are you the way you are? You're from Georgia. You talk like you don't have an education." You But I mean at the end of the day like I am who I am, you know. I was born how I was born and we're all We're all That's one thing we all have in common is at the end of the day we don't really have any control of our circumstances and stuff. And it's like There's lots of choices we can make, but I don't know. Jax had a duty and an obligation, and I think that understanding that and watching the show and seeing how much it cost him and what, you know, just seeing his decision-making, I feel like it just like kind of gives you a lot of wisdom about why people are the way they are. And it's just like It's just more of It's just more of a reinforcement that you just never know the stories that people have and where they come from. It's just hard to like put yourself in people's positions, but >> Wendy had a crazy story. Like just imagine when she's off with the boys and they're growing up and stuff. Like she went through a lot to get to where she was. >> Yeah. >> She went through a whole lot. So her story was a at least a positive one. >> Yeah, she kind of ended up the winner in all this. Like her whole entire Uh I guess custody fantasy sort of played out perfectly for her. When in reality it usually doesn't play out that clean for people, but >> And I think a good thing for Wendy is her being a mom keeps her away from drugs. >> Yeah. >> And I think maybe that's exactly what Wendy needed. That was her missing puzzle piece. >> And plus Nero is, you know, he's a very positive like uh >> Yeah. >> What Like a What What do you call it when you're like having drug issues and then there's someone in your life who's supposed to be that person to keep you sober? >> Like a >> What's the name of that? >> Oh, it's like a >> You guys know what I'm talking about though. Like a surrogate No, not surrogate. It's like a >> They're like I had to call my It's not agent. Not advocate. >> It's something like that, guys. Um But Nero is really good. >> Yeah. >> Mentor? >> Yeah, maybe. I mean, that's a good way to describe him, for sure, but I just feel like he's going to do a good job keeping her straight. Um I kind of hate that we never got to see like more of her reactions and everything and stuff. You know, I kind of hate that we had to leave that up to our imaginations, but I mean, I imagine she's just going to do the best she can do. I mean, I imagine she's not going to be perfect, you know, but she'll make her mistakes, but anything's better than Charming. At the end of the day, I feel like we won. The The The thing that actually mattered in the show was to get the kids away from Charming. >> Yeah, and that's a win. >> But at the same time, Abel had the had the rings. And if Abel didn't have the rings, I would actually be feeling a lot better, but I honestly feel like Abel's going to grow up and just be hell. And I feel like the cycle's going to continue, and it's all because of Gemma again, because Gemma just couldn't >> So, you felt like that was just more of a symbolic hold rather than Wendy could just like confiscate it in his sleep tonight, and then we never have to talk about it again? >> Yeah, but the thing is is those rings could be compensated, but they're just physical. Like, those seeds were already planted in his young mind. And And And And we pretend Abel, "Oh, it's all good. Abel now gets to go live at, you know, the He gets to live at the farm." >> himself with a fork at the school. >> That kid's screwed in his mind already. Like, he's not Like, he Not that he can't get better. I'm not saying I'm not writing him off, but I'm just saying like he's not just going to forget his dad. He's not going to forget all this. >> Yeah. >> Like, I don't know. I feel like I feel like this show actually kind of had a twist ending, and it was a horrific twist, and it was just that Abel's going to grow up, and he's going to be everything Jax didn't want him to be. And one day, Abel's going to be sitting there, and it's going to say JT and JT, and then it'll be AT eventually. And he'll be talking. >> He'll be typing to Jax, like, instead of writing because it's like modern times. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, he will.
