Sons of Anarchy 7x12 First Time Reaction | “Red Rose” | The Devastating End of an Iconic Character

Guys, I don't even know where to start at this point. I kind of feel like this is like the big conference championship game before the Super Bowl. I mean, we react, right? So, in a sense, this is sort of like our Super Bowl over here. This show has been phenomenal. I'm so nervous to see how it's going to wrap up and how it's going to end. I feel like Gemma has to face the gallows. Dude, >> she's done so much to just destroy so many people's lives. Um, that's just one of the story lines that I'm looking for. That and Juice. I feel like that juice obviously August Marks that's going to be a huge part of it and then I guess obviously it's going to come down to Jax himself. >> I just want to see what happens with Jax and his kids. Even Wendy >> Jax has to meet the mayhem. >> How is two episodes going to wrap all that up? >> I have no idea. I feel like we're nowhere near the end of the story. That's kind of what sucks though. >> Will Gemma ever tell Jack she was involved in the killing of John Teller? >> I don't know. She needs to >> stay tuned to find out. She really needs to. Um, like I said before, I don't think she's the type of lady to just confess all of her sins, but I could be wrong. She's the type to go out fighting in my mind. So, I I don't really know. But I don't really think that'll happen this episode. I think that's a grand finale moment if Jax does decide to kill his mom. But the big question I have is can Jax do that considering like >> right >> how important family is and stuff? Like at the end of the day, is he going to break this cycle of violence and forgive his mom and lay down the guns and the weapons, you know, or is he just going to ice his mom? It's really hard to tell. >> I know. I don't know. >> I'm excited to find out, though. >> Yeah. Um I'm going to miss the show. I'll put it that way. I really will. So, I guess we've already like discussed everything up to this point. Um the last few episodes have been so emotional. The acting has been phenomenal. The emotion has been on the sleeve. And I'm expecting more of the same in this. Like um and I guess that's the biggest thing about TV shows, right? Is the characters you take with you. But how could you ever forget a Gemma or how could you ever forget a Roosevelt? And I I really do think I'm going to remember these characters forever. You know, some of them like Bobby, like I'll always remember Bobby. But if you play Voldemort, then everyone is Voldemort. And everyone kind of like hates juice, right? So, in order to play a character, such an amazing character, but in order to play it, kind of like Joffrey from Game of Thrones to do such a good job being just a thorn in everyone's ass, it really does take like some type of social sacrifice. I I believe and I feel like Marilyn Manson saying to him, "You went out good, sweetheart." It's just kind of cool cuz it's like Juice, even though the show totally made you out to be just the worst ever, you actually got a really badass death. And I hate to say that because I love his character, but >> at least it was the last episode of the last season. >> It would just make sense because if Juice has to die, Jax has to die. That's the only way it can make sense, right? I hated seeing the way Juice went out. I thought that scene was just brutal. It was hard to see, >> but it was cool. >> Yeah, it was cool. I think it everything's working out great so far because we were able to get rid of the rest of Lynn's people. which so far >> I'm I'm over here acting like I'm happy about that, you know, but um I'm sure they're happy about that. >> But that just saves the drama. >> It'll settle the streets a little bit. Like seeing seeing Ju just to reiterate seeing Juice die brought up weird feelings because as much as I don't like Juice like he's almost family damn near at this point. We've been hanging out with Juice for months like watching the show >> months >> 6 months or so. >> But it's sad to see people like have a rise and fall in charming like just because you got involved in this little club is over for you. It sucks. It's always sad to look at someone who ends up in a horrible situation. And it's always sad to look at the cards they were dealt, >> right? Because every person's dealt a completely different set of circumstances. It doesn't matter what you look like or how much you got in common with someone. No one's life is the same. And that's something I've learned. Like even if the houses, you can have two similar houses with the same exact looking ass parents because they're twins and their lives are still going to be different. >> And Juice just had bad circumstances in a lot of ways. Um, I miss the >> GMA. It's hard to feel bad for Gemma because she created this whole monster. >> She created lots of them. Yeah. >> Yeah. This club gave her purpose. And Uner's just been sticking his nose up in the business for too long. And it finally caught up with him. He's a stubborn old man. And like he's been c he's been he's been daring Jax to make a move for multiple episodes. What are you going to do, son? Then what you going to do? Cuz he's getting all loud and bold and he's finally like, you know, he's getting his courage up a little bit cuz he's dying. >> And then uh I feel like he didn't think Jax was going to kill him. >> I feel like he kind of did. >> I kind of feel like he didn't think Jax would actually kill him. I don't know >> because he didn't think he would actually kill his mom. >> I feel like he just looked at himself as just an old man. And I feel like, you know, he's done so much and he's been such a soldier for the club. And like I use the word soldier loosely. Like when I think of a soldier for the club, I'm thinking Tig and Happy. Those are soldiers. Uner's been a soldier in his own way, though. And I just don't think that in his heart of heart, he thought Jax was just about to just blast him like that. >> Yeah. >> Because I didn't think cuz Un wasn't going to shoot J. >> Like you you could just tell there was no intent behind that. I think uh my biggest takeaway is throughout this episode I think the best character in the show for sure has been Gemma to me. >> I think >> has to be >> this show reminds me a lot of game >> a likable villain. She's a likable villain who grows on you and you feel attached to because she gives you like a sense of motherhood like she did everyone else and she made every she she was she embodied the word charming. I think when it comes to like the way men can be written in TV shows, like men can often be written very simple, you know, like not I mean not too simple. They can be like Game of Thrones, they tried to make them complicated, but like like Jax has always been sort of a simple character to where Jim is more complicated. >> And I think when you lay out a story and you create a drama, I feel like there's more upside for like the woman character in a lot of particular type of ways. Men have a lot of upside in like other particular types of ways. I think when you have an ultimate villain, it's really easy to make a really good villain be a woman. Like you think of like Snow White, like you think about all these, right? And it is because they are supposed to be your mother and they are supposed to be nurturing and they're supposed to care for you. And then when they betray >> C, well that's the point I was going to make. I thought Cersei was the best character in Game of Thrones. Like to me, she was the best character. Um, and I thought Gemma was the best character in this, even though in my mind it was supposed to be Jax in this and in Game of Thrones it was almost like it was supposed to be Jon Snow, >> but the women ended up still in the show to me for sure. And it's just because >> the amount of wickedness they were able to portray on screen and and end it >> and still have people like you >> because they feel empathetic towards you >> because you are that mother figure. And that's why it hurts and cuts so deep and that's why it's so shocking in the show like you know there was times during Game of Thrones where you really wanted to sympathize with Cersei and then she would always remind you like she's a serpent >> and it would almost like betray you because you want to like her and I think that's what's so frustrating in life is like >> you know like when you want someone to do better and you're begging for her just do better please. If only you would just stop doing this it would all just be good again and then they just will never stop. And I think that's just what breaks your heart. And I think that's what Jax went through in this episode. And it was so fun to watch. >> And Gemma's character also, she had a good way of like absolutely destroying you with things she's done and said, but then one conversation pulls you back into liking her. >> You know what Gemma would do now that you mentioned that for me a lot in this episode. She would do this thing where like it's exactly what you just said, and that's what planted the idea and just gave me this thought. Jimma would do this thing where she would do something horrible and you would hate her and she would act a certain type of way, but then it's almost like she has like a split personality where she's just like, "Well, that's what I did. There's nothing I can do to take it back." It's almost like she has a way of trying to convince you that like certain at certain points she's just not in control of herself. >> And like and also she was right for what she did because the way she wor Yeah, I get what you're saying. >> You get what I'm trying to say? like she has a way of like disassociating from her actions and then making you kind of like disassociate them also because >> it's actually almost to be studied how brilliant her like sociopathnickness is. >> Like it's manipulator to the ultimate like standard. I just don't see how you could kill your kid's significant other or how could you >> husband at that husband start kill someone's cat >> like if I ran over I could never run I could never run someone and that's why I'm not you know maybe I could be like doing so much better in life if I was like this but if I ran over someone's cat I could never just keep moving and be like well they're not going to know I did it >> I know >> I just I don't have that in my soul dude like I'm just I'm just not that person so for Jim to be able to do that is just so hard to understand But I mean, I do understand it. She can't tell on herself because like everything in the world would make her want to come clean cuz she is a human, but there's only one thing in this world that's going to keep her from doing that and it happens to be the one problem she has, and that's self-preservation. >> And I get that a lot of people would do a lot of [ __ ] for self-preservation. I'm not saying I'm above that, but I don't know. I just she she's just crazy. I don't know. It's just I just I can never get so mad at someone that I just start stabbing them in the back of the head. She just reminds me of my grandma for some reason, Gemma. She always did cuz she was stylish. >> Yeah. I'm not saying I couldn't stab someone in the back of the head. Like, if I needed to, I think I could, but I'm just saying I wouldn't want to do it. I don't think I would do it just cuz I'm mad or cuz I lost my temper. Like, I'm not that out of control. But Jim, on the other hand, is just >> Mhm. >> and say, "Yeah, you said something wild about her." You said that she gets drunk and comes up with different names or something. >> Well, yeah. >> You got to get some context. >> She always You know what she does? She gets drunk and she's always like, "I'm a sweet southern lady." >> She must have done that when she was younger cuz I don't really see her drink. >> She did it like 3 years ago. >> She, Just for context, guys, she's like old old. She's like in her 90s. >> Yeah. >> So, she's not like out in the town being wild. She's just an old goofy lady enjoying herself. But, um, she's, just so y'all know, she is like in her 90s. So, I She ain't out there tearing up them mean streets of Mississippi or nothing. Ladies, calm down. You ain't got to worry. She ain't out there collecting souls. It just sounded wild. I was like, "Please don't make your grandma sound like that. I love her and you're making her sound so crazy." >> I love her, too. But she she has a crazy side. >> I'm excited to see her. I get to see her in a couple months. We get to see her every Christmas. She lives in Mississippi. We're over here in Jao. It's not exactly far, but it's not exactly close either, guys. If we didn't have kids and stuff, I'd make the trip more. We do go every year thanks to you guys. That's one of the biggest things, the one of the biggest gifts in the world. Mrs. October gets to go see her grandmother every year because you guys support these videos. And I do want to say that the fact that she gets to go see her grandma every year and the fact that I'm always available for my kids if they need me means more than anything in the world to me.
