Solo Camping In Heavy Rain And Storm In The Pop Up Camper

Watch on YouTube

Video summary

The host documents a solo camping experience inside a pop-up camper at Trails End RV Park in Old Florida while enduring heavy rain and storms. Although he initially forgot to bring tables for the setup, he successfully stabilized the vehicle by removing stabilizers and using jacks after water from the air conditioner caused it to tilt. Inside the sheltered space, he has organized his camera gear and a laptop for editing, settling in with meals like bacon spam and Chef Boyardee spaghetti meatballs while dealing with spotty cell service that is compensated for by Starlink Wi-Fi. Family dynamics play a significant role in the narrative as the host's granddaughter, affectionately called "Monkey," dropped off her baby grandson, Bruno, on Tuesday. The toddler remains inside to avoid the stress of the storm and noise, with Monkey planning to return after a doctor's appointment to take him for a walk later in the week. While the heat at noon persists despite the rain, Bruno stays indoors waiting for conditions to improve, and the host prepares pork chops for both himself and the child while trying to reduce his bread intake. As the weather intensifies with rolling storms, lightning, and thunder, the host monitors the radar from within the camper, noting that fishing plans were abandoned due to the precipitation which was actually needed to raise water levels. Although trail cameras were not deployed during this period, a clip of a deer is included in the footage courtesy of Dennis Hobbacker from Monkey 1000. The host considers future activities such as cooking ribs on Saturday if the rain subsides or renting a kayak or canoe from the park's rental station once the weather cooperates. Ultimately, despite the lack of outdoor activity caused by the uncooperative weather, the host concludes that the storm serves a necessary purpose for the environment and the fishing conditions ahead. He reflects on the day's events while waiting for Monkey to return with Bruno, eventually allowing himself a shower before she leaves again. The video ends with the host signing off as "Shay Bear," promising to return in the next installment once the weather clears and they can resume their planned outdoor adventures.

Hey everyone, Shay Bear 1000 as you can see with the camper man set up. You can tell what I'm doing now. I'm going to be out here a few days solo and uh pretty much got set up. I'll explain to you what's happening. We may do a little fishing. Anyway, I'm going to do a couple days solo. I'll tell you about that. But let's hit an intro. That's my bug zapper up there charging up. I can also charge it here. and I'll explain this monstrosity here. Okay. Hello everyone. Happy Tuesday to you, but by the time you see this might might even be the weekend. Anyway, it's Tuesday right now. It's Tuesday late afternoon. Uh the reason why I got this like this is because you always always forget something when you go camping. And I forgot the tables. Supposed to be a table here for that. and my table here for that has the sink in it. Forgot both of them. We also have a little table we like to put like beside one of the chairs. Well, actually, we have a few of them, but didn't even have that one in here to put that on cuz that's not heavy. So, I scooted this down a little bit and I just plugged it in there. Monkey may or may not come out later and bring the tables. But this I probably won't have to tie off unless it gets windy. And then I'll use that little bar right there. Then I'll use that bar to stake that out, but I shouldn't have to. It's pretty snug. The camper is a little bit We're going to do away with these stabilizers right here. We're going to do away with all four of them. We're going to put jacks on it. Uh so what what's going on there is I usually have the camper kind of tilted this way and to the back and that's just the water from the air conditioner. So it's it's not a big deal. Um so yeah. So monkeyy's got the baby until Friday. grandson. She was like, uh, she said, "Why don't you go camping?" Cuz he does. He screams a lot, guys. I love kids and all and grandkids. Love him. Love my kids. I'm just not used to hearing, you know, a toddler just scream. You walk past him, he screams and yells and he wants to be held 24/7. You can't do that. And if you don't do it, all he does is scream. So, she was like, "Why don't you take the camper and go camping?" I said, "Because I only got like four days left. I've used up all my days out there at the uh at Pots Preserve. You know, you only got so many days you can use a year. And I need to save one. I'll explain to you why later, but I need to save at least one." Um, so she said, "Why didn't you tell me? I'd put you up in a campground. I said, "Col, you say?" She said, "Yeah." I said, "Where am I going to go?" She said, "Pick one." I said, "I don't know." She said, "How about that one we went to before?" Okay. Can you narrow it down a little bit more? Yeah. The one on the river. Okay. So, she said, "We we've been there before, twice before." I said, "Okay." She explained. I said, "All right. I know. I know what you're talking about now." I didn't have to bring my kayak because they have kayaks here. So, that's cool. Um, we're at Trails End RV Park. So, yeah. So, she's like, "Well, I'll book it." I said, "What day you taking him home?" She said, "I think I'm taking him home Friday." I said, "Well, I can book it till Friday." She goes, "Or book it till Sunday and I can come out and spend a couple days with you." I said, "Oh, I see where you're going with that." So, she hornswaggled me into getting a uh campground. So, that that's fine. But yeah, I mean, yeah, that's that's stressful when you're almost 58 years old. You got a kid screaming constantly. Hurst Bruno's ears. He'll go in the bedroom or he'll go in mom's room and he'll get under the bed and he'll put his head down. It hurts his ears. you can't, you know, and it's like, you know, I feel bad, but I can't I can't do that. You know, I've raised my kids, you know what I mean? My kids are grown. But but I mean, I I love this little fella. I love him with all my heart, but dang, man. You know, you just got to sometimes you got to say, "No, I can't I can't do Yeah, you know, it stresses her mom out and stress the poor monkey out and of course me and the dog. And it's like, man, you know, we can't can't do this stuff all the time. But anyway, so yeah, I love the little guy, but Jesus, come on. I mean, I'm not kidding you. When he screams, he just screams just top of his lungs. And now you know that he can stand and walk. He's doing that pulling back like if monkey goes to set him in his crib or whatever, set him down, he'll yank back on him, you know, like he's trying to bend over backwards and just start flailing around. And it's like, you know, if if one of my kids ever did that, that would be the first and probably last ass whapon they ever got. But fortunately, you know, I had the voice, "Hey, you cut that out now." So yeah. Uh but I was fortunate and monkey said, you know, her kids never acted that way. So we don't I don't know what's why he's like that, but he's got to get broke of that, you know. I mean, I'd love to have him out here with me, you know, spend the night and but I can't, you know, nobody People comes out here. Listen, you hear that? Nothing. You hear nothing but a breeze and some birds. Maybe my air conditioner, which I'll probably shut off later, but right now it's like 92 and real feels close to 100, but uh yeah. So, I mean, nobody wants to hear that. And you know, I wouldn't want to, you know, I wouldn't want to bring bring him out here acting like that. It's just, you know, I thought about getting one of those sights over there some closer to the restroom, but uh they're premium sights. We just what they call a partial. We got water and electric. Those have sewer over there. So yeah. But so that's what I'm going to be doing. So I'll be out here until Sunday. We're leaving Sunday. Monkey will drop him off. Probably come out Friday night after she gets her mom and everything situated. Saturday I think she's going to bring her mom out here cuz I'm going to go we're going to go down there. I'm going to cook some ribs Saturday. I'll bring you along with me on that. But, uh, like I said, I want to do some fishing. Brought a couple fishing rods, my tackle. I got some bait. So, yeah, that's why I want jacks. So, I can, you know, jack this up. These are just stabilizers. I mean, you got the front jack, but that won't like jack the whole side up. Like, once I put the jacks on here, like I can jack this whole side up. and uh but it's fine for now. Um so yeah, that's what's going on. Um let me see here. I'll show you what I got going on inside, which is nothing spectacular. Just I got to get a trash bag out. I forgot to get a trash bag out. This was our shower curtain. A company sent it to me. I did a review on that thing and uh Monkey uses it, but then she got a couple new ones for seasonal and stuff. So, I was like, well, you know what? Let's just put that one in the camper and block that off. So, that's cool cuz that's the only set of curtains we don't have. That's why those you can see through. They're just getting so thin. They're original curtains in here. So, but got TV hooked up. I got some camera gear stuff here. I got my chest mount, head mount, my number five mics, a light, you know, just the simple stuff. I don't know. I probably won't use that, but I will lay it out so I can lay on it kind of like a sheet. But there's that. And this is what she bought for me up in Georgia for my laptop, which I did bring so I can edit videos or whatever. There's my supper time tonight. I think it's bacon. Yeah, bacon spam. Okay. So, all right, guys. I'm going to let you go for now. I'm going sit down and rest for a minute. Probably a couple minutes, and have another drink of pop. No, I'm not. I brought me a treat this time. This is where the clubhouse is. Where's it at? Right on the other side of that camper there is the clubhouse. The first time we were here, we set up our our tent here. We had the the big gazebo tent, the huge one, the blue one, and went down there and was walking around and it started pouring. So, we went over to the clubhouse and played some pool and hung out over there and stuff like that. When we got back, let's see. Yeah, we had the car, but we wanted to check out the clubhouse. That's what it was. So, when it quit raining, well, it slowed down. As soon as we pulled in, you know, it was getting dark and I seen this end of the picnic table lit up. It was my phone. I left it out here in a downpour. This is an Android. It's supposedly not waterproof, but I left it face up just like it is now, and it poured on it for a good hour. And I came over and I shut the power off cuz you can't take the batteries out of them. So I shut the power off, wiped it off, and I thought, well, you know, if it screwed up, it's already screwed up. So kicked the power on, kicked right on. It's been fine ever since. Oh, but anyway, I broke that. I brought me a treat. Let's see. I'm going to have one of these. Then I'll probably get me a water and uh yeah. So, I'm going in cool down for a little bit, guys. I am sweating bad. I don't know what the temperature is here. Here's my thing. But the other part of it inside, and the batteries are dead, and I have no batteries. I got a bunch of double A's in there, but it takes triple A's. So, anyway, I'm going to let that charge. Like I said, I can also charge it with electric if I want. I'll hang it up out. And then Monkey, I guess she bought some kind of mosquito net to put around the awning here. So, uh, but she forgot it. So, I said, "That's all right. I I'll, you know, when you bring it out, I'll put it up. We'll we'll see." So, I'll bring you along with me on that. So, all right, guys. Stick around. Okay, guys. I'm starting to get a little hungry. So, let's open up our spam here. You can use this to slice this if you want, but you got to bend the sides in a little bit, but I'm not going to do that. Forgot to get a trash bag out. So, let me cut it up first. Didn't bring any butter. I think I got oil here, but there should be enough oil in this to uh to cook it up. I mean, it's cooked. You can eat this stuff raw. And I'm going to have a couple cans of spaghetti meatballs. Chef Boy RD to Chef Sha Bear. I know I should have the pan hot, but I forgot to get out a cutting board. So, my bad. All right, there's that. See if we can get this lit up. All right. Whoops. Oh, my lighter. It's in my pocket. Didn't I just check my pocket? I could have sworn I did, but Oh, I hear gas. That's a good sign. Oh, that's a good sign. I'll probably stick Let's put it on the back one. Whoops. Now have a couple cans of these. I don't know if I'll eat it all, but I can uh I can uh I'm going to try to save some for later for my snack time. I call it my nighttime lunch cuz I usually eat around midnight. Me and Bruno will get something I'll share with him. Find me a trash bag. Turn this down, too. All right, let me get a trash bag out. Get my trash cleaned up, and I'll kick you back on here in a minute once this stuff starts cooking. All right, we got actual trash bag cuz that's good because I don't have any This is just food I keep in here. So, I don't have any uh what do you call it? Uh grocery bags. So, as it was funny, Monkey was getting ready to leave. The uh owner stopped by on his way out. He said he had to close up the store a little early, but you know, there's numbers you can call if you have any problems. Uh, well, closed up the office, which is also the store. Like, okay, that's fine. Monkey said, "You got any money?" I said, "I got a couple bucks." Yeah. Here, take my wallet. I had like three bucks in it. And she looked at it. She said, "Okay, here." and handed back to me. I said, "What?" "Oh, $3 ain't good enough. I'll give you my last $3." She said, "No, I wanted to see how much you had cuz I'm going to give you some money." I said, "I don't need any money." She said, "No, you need more than that in your wallet. Here, take 20 bucks." That was so sweet. Thank you, monkey. I appreciate that. So, let me get this cooked up. Is it's Is it really cooking, guys? No. I It's It's just reheating something or heating something up. That's why I'm not going to do a taste. I I am going to taste the bacon for you or the the bacon spam for you. But I'm not going to kick you on while I eat. Uh I'm going to turn I had the air conditioner off for a little bit. It got actually pretty chilly in here. So, it's going to get warm with this with these burners on. So, I'm going to turn the air on and I'll be back with you when this is all heated up. Okay, guys. Couple done pieces. It's done. Like I said, it's precooked. It's It's hot. wear through, I'm sure. Yeah, that'll be fine. Uh, all right. Now, uh, go ahead and let's get a bite of this. So, bacon spam. First time I've ever tried bacon spam. I do believe it's definitely I think first time I had it on the show. I do believe. But let's give it a try. It doesn't smell like bacon. But must Hang on a second, guys. Spam calls at 6:39 at night. Jeez. Probably because I'm eating spam. But yeah, that's what that was. A damn spam call. Jesus Christ. Leave me alone. All right, let's give this a shot. Um, I don't taste any bacon in it. Like I said, I can't smell much anymore, but I don't taste any bacon, but I taste the spam. But it it does have a different flavor, but it doesn't taste like bacon. I am giving it two thumbs up and four and a half stars, though out of five. Um, yeah, it it's fine. It tastes great. I just to me I just don't I'm just not tasting the bacon in it. But that's okay with me. I don't care cuz I like spam. You know, as long as it doesn't give it a bad taste, I'm okay with it. So, let me get some of my spaghetti and meatballs. And like I said, but the reason why I went and checked on that is because you know, Monkeyy's by herself while she's got her mom, but she's also got the baby and Bruno, so you never know, right? So anyway, I'm going to eat my supper, watch a little TV. But see, that's the thing. The cell service out here is kind of crappy. It's really spotty, but we're on the middle of nowhere kind of, you know. I mean, we're we're not by any cell phone towers. That's to be expected. We're in old Florida, you know. But but we do have Wi-Fi here, so, you know, like I can watch some YouTube and stuff. A spam call will get to you every damn time. Every time it'll come in. I've been out with no bars and got a spam call before and then like trying to send somebody a text. I can't. How How are they doing? How do they do it? Anyway, guys. All right. I'm gonna turn this air back on and I'm gonna turn these lights down. Watch a little TV. But, you know, I mean, tonight's just kind of a blah night, you know, just kind of hanging out. Uh, I put my my bed rolled down, my sleeping bag down. I didn't unopen it or anything. I just rolled it down so I can sleep on top of it. But yeah, I actually had to uh had to turn the air down a little bit while it was off, but I'm going to have to turn it up now again or turn it back on now because it's really hot. But so, all right, guys. I'll be back with you. So, let me get this light off and this light. I got to clean your screen it looks like. And I'll see you in a little bit. Okay, everyone. So, I'm going lay here and watch some more YouTube. I was asleep. I got done eating. I think it was I sent Monkey a message at 6:51 and I told her I said, "You're too tired to come out. You know, don't you you don't have to bring She wanted to bring them tables out." I'm like, "You don't have to, you know, I got enough food, enough liquids to drink and stuff. I'll be fine till tomorrow, you know, if you don't feel like, you know, if you're too tired to come come back out." I said, "I'm fine." And she said, "Okay, that's that's good." You know, so I talked to her for a minute and then uh and it was like I don't know what happened. It was just like all at once my eyes got tired and I just fell asleep bam into a dead sleep. And it's uh she just messaged me, you all right? Something you okay? I like, man. She woke me up out of a dead sleep. Uh, yeah. It was at 10:14. It's 10:26 now. And she said, "You okay?" I'm like, "Yeah, I was asleep." She said, "Oh, baby, baby was She" She said, "Baby's finally asleep." And then she I said, "That's good." And she said, "I'll let you sleep." Before I can say anything, she sent a picture of the baby sleeping. I'll show you. Oh no, it's Bruno. Bruno's out. He's out like a light. So I I thought it was a baby cuz I didn't have my glasses on. Well, I guess he's her baby. So she's got to go to the doctor in the morning. So, oh, she just messaged me, but I sent her a picture of the camper. She said it looks good, but I'm wide awake now. I mean, I don't know if it was my tummy got full or or what. And I'll tell you what, that spam, if you guys like spam and you like can ham food like Chef Boyardd uh spaghetti meatballs, yeah, put some of cut that some of that spam up and put it in your spaghetti meatballs. And that's what I did, man. It was good. So, uh, but I have, I think, one piece of spam left and some more of my spaghetti meatballs. I may have that for breakfast cuz I forgot my oats. So, yeah. Uh, I sent her a picture of you guys just now. So, but all right. Uh, if I think of anything to tell you, I'll kick you back on. Or, I don't know, something weird happens or, you know, if I happen to see an animal, I'll kick you back on. If not, I'm going to say good night. I'm going to turn my light off. Let's see. Says power. Oh, I turned the fan. I'll turn my light off. That's pretty bright, doesn't it? Um, so, all right, guys. Like I said, if nothing happens, I'll catch you in the morning. But, uh, yeah, if something strange happens, I'll of course kick you guys on. Now, it's 79 out. It says 79 out right now on my phone. I don't know what it is right here, but I just went outside and took a picture of the camper from Monkey. And, uh, still felt pretty warm out there. I got the air on. I did get my sleep bag. I got a little chilly and got my sleep bag. And, man, as soon as I got my sleep bag, I was done. But I may get up and walk around. I don't know. We'll see. Uh if I can't get back to sleep, maybe we'll take a night hike. Um so stick around, guys. And uh see you in the next clip. Right. Okay, guys. I thought we'd take a little night walk down here to the uh river. See what we can see since I'm wide awake. Monkey woke me up. Now I'm wide awake. And then she she's we talked for a few minutes and then she's like going to sleep now. Listen, thanks thanks for making me wide awake. All right, so hope my camera's not real blurry. Uh, of course, just came out of the air conditioner, but it's saying it's 79 out. It's not too bad. I actually just shut the air conditioner off. Uh so yeah, I like like I either wanted this spot right here or this spot right here would be nice. Nice shady trees. But again, those are uh premium sites because they have sewer. Um, but they can uh they they also have a dump station. So like if you don't get a premium site, you you got a dump station, you can go dump if you want, like on your way out or whatever. But so like we didn't really need it. And it's $10 more a night. So it's like $69 a night. And at the end of this month, uh prices will go up because of uh see right now it's considered off season and season when you're on season mean meaning if if you're in season meaning from November 1st to whatever it is, it's like when the the uh the northerners come down. I don't have my glasses on. Let me try to wipe your wipe your lens off. And I don't know if that helped. I'm sorry. We are under a street light. Yeah. The first time we were here, we brought our boat and we parked it down there. Right over in there. So, I just thought, well, while we're here, I can use that boat. There's a canoe over there. This is a johnboat. We got this little paddle boat. I will never get on another one again. monkey got me on one once. And here's the uh Here's the kayaks. So, yeah. Uh I do want to get one of these and take it out. Preferably not that one in a river with gators. This is a nice one. Might use this one. I don't see any holes in it. This one's definitely seen better days. All that duct tape on it. They got life jackets and paddles in here. Cool. So, may do that tomorrow. I don't know. Somebody got a motorcycle parked in there. Cool. But, uh, they didn't lock it. It's unlocked. But, yeah, I might do that tomorrow. I don't know. Monkeyy's going to come down or come out tomorrow after after her doctor's appointment. I don't see any gators. You can usually see their eyes, but I can bring my uh trolling motor and I got a new battery for it. Monkey got me a new battery for it for for my kayak. But I bought these cool propellers I want to try out. I don't know if they let me take it out with the motor because that's not registered. You don't have to register it if you're, you know, paddling, but anytime you put a motor on something here in Florida, even if it's that canoe or one of them kayaks, you have to register it. Yeah, we backed our boat right down in there. The water is so low. I mean, I think first time we were here, water was this was water. If you stop stepped off into here, you'd be in water. Now it's ground. Got a fish in it for you to use. You can't see the river. Oh my god. Well, what I can see here, not Sorry. See that? I bet you it's only a foot deep there. Jeez. We just uh we're still in that drought, you know. But yeah, this is a nice place. All right, let's head back up to the camper. I just walked through a cobweb. I feel it. I got my shorts on and uh I can feel them cobwebs. Don't like it. Yeah, they don't have uh they don't have fire rings at the uh at the sites, but they do have this community fire ring here. Oh, and they don't charge anything to use the johnboat, the paddle boat, the canoe, or the kayaks. They don't charge any extra. A lot of people will charge you like $10 an hour, but like up in Georgia it was 10 bucks an hour. But if you think about that, yeah, that's cheap enough, right? But what if you rent two kayaks for 6 hours? That's 60 bucks a piece. That's $120 for 6 hours. But this is a nice nice fire pit there. Um, so if it don't rain Saturday, I'll be using this big ass smoker here. Smoke a couple racks of ribs. It's cool. It's a nice smoker. All right, let's go back up to the uh to the camper. That's the clubhouse there and shelter. If you got a storm rolling in, let's say you're in a tent or something, you can come down here and get in there. Like I said, me and Monkeykey's been in there. It's pretty nice. Got a pool table, games, all kinds of books to read. I know a lot of people don't read books anymore, but they're still out there. See, they got Starlink here. And up there, that's a Wi-Fi booster up there to boost it through the park. you look around on some of the trees, you might see one cuz this this part goes way way back over there. But but we're here because, you know, while we're closer to the Wi-Fi, you know, and like I said, phone service is horrible, but that's to be expected. We're in old Florida. There's no phone cell phone towers around here. You can get out in certain spots like up at the gate. It's not really a gate, but where you come in at uh when you check in, you stop, it says stop there and you call that number and that's where they have cuz some people if they would just come in and they got a huge rig and they get down here, they might not be able to turn it around. Of course, we wouldn't have that issue, but there's our there's our rig there. So, they want you to call and then they'll send somebody right out right up to get you. I bought when we did the air conditioner, when I put that, excuse me, that seal on top of the air conditioner, um, I bought a one of those, uh, pressure regulators cuz you never know what pressure they're running at different campgrounds. And first time we used it was in Georgia and it worked fine. I hooked it up here. I couldn't. No water would even come out of it. And it's got pretty good pressure here. So, one one time. Well, it was what 5 days, 4 days, 5 days, whatever. But still, use it one time and uh don't want to work anymore. That's a crap you're buying. I mean, granted, it wasn't really expensive, but I don't care. I don't care if it, you know, I mean, ridiculous. Turn my bug zapper on here for a few minutes, but we're back. So, I thought, oh, shoot. Yeah, it's a little warm when you're walking, but I thought, shoot, let's go ahead and uh let's take a little walk. So, I got a good story time. If you guys want to hear it, I'll uh it might be a standalone video, but I'll tell you about a a fire that happened in a Holiday in Motel in Cambridge, Ohio, my hometown, back in 1978, I believe it was. But we may have story time this time. I haven't done a story time in a while. But so yeah, that's the only thing I don't like about this spot is I mean we're right directly under that. I mean granted they they have them for your safety but you know I'd rather see I like that not that but like I said they put them up for your safety but anyway. So, all right. I'm going to grab me a drink and I'm going to go back in. Yeah, I was sleeping hard, man. I I heard my phone go off. I I was in my sleeping bag. I was pointing to that window over there. So, I was rolled over away from the TV. So, I'm I was That was what 6:51 the last time I messaged her. And I just got done eating. I was like, man, it's so what about 7:00, I'm guessing. I fell asleep and it was almost 10:30. It was 10:20 something, 10:25 or whatever it was. And uh I was like, "Holy crap. Now I'm wide awake." And monkey says, "I'm going to bed. Going to sleep now. I didn't even have my shower." H I go out go up tomorrow cuz you got to walk way up through there to the shower house. Now, there is a bathroom right over there where that light is on. You see that light there? Uh, so that's a bathroom, but the showers are way up there. So, I'll probably just wait. So, all right, guys. If I don't, if something don't happen or whatever, I'll talk to you guys in the morning. Not night, everyone. Good morning, everyone. It's about 11:30. Humidity is supposed to be a real feel of 103, but been up for a little bit, but not long. I didn't go to sleep till I think it was 6:07 or something this morning. So, like I say, man, that's why I don't like to take a nap in the evening cuz then I'm up all night. And when monkey woke me up, that was it. I knew he was going to be up all night. So, but yeah, just uh not sure what I'm going to do yet. Monkey just left a little bit ago. Well, about 45 minutes, guys. See her leaving the house. I got a notification. So, should be out here after a bit. So, I started getting warm in there. It was 83 a little bit after 10:00. So, I turned the air on low. I didn't have it on all night. It was pretty cool in there. It's 87 right now. So, all right. I'll kick you back on. I got to take my meds. I forgot to take my medicine. All right. I'll kick you guys back on as soon as I decide what I'm going to do. Uh, I can't have my spaghetti and meatballs for breakfast cuz I ate them last night. Um, ate all my spam last night. So, and I forgot my oats. All right, guys. Stick around. >> There's monkey. like a bell squealing or something. I'll have to look at that. Maybe a an idler pulley. He'll be back. >> Here, put this in your mouth. You ready? >> Okay. Chew it up. >> You got him a >> What is it? >> Happy meal. >> Happy meal. Are you happy, buddy? >> Kind of. >> You happy, buddy? Look at them chunk cheek. Look at that smile. >> That's a camera. >> It's a camera. All right. >> I like these. I think these are the cute >> little tiny fries. >> Yeah, they used to give us just the >> Yeah. >> small ones. >> They were in a bag then. A paper like a paper thing. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> All right. Had to rele the trailer and get some of this water from dripping here. So, I raised it up. Should be good now. I'll go around back and check it. Then I got to hook that up. All right. I'm all hooked up. I got the camper more level. Something wrong. It's not right, but it'll work. So, I'm going to relieve the pressure when it's laying in the sun like this. I relieve the pressure. This one would probably be okay, but that's got a leak there. That's not my hose. That's just the thing. But it's okay, you know, spraying on electric should be fine. So that way don't have at night time. I'll just leave it on cuz I'm in the camper anyway. If we go somewhere, I always shut it off, too. So, got this up here. Going to put that cord away. Uh, let's see. Air conditioner is draining off here. I could probably raise that up a little bit more and get a drain off the back, but that's okay. It was draining right here. I didn't like that. So, all right, guys. I'll be back with you. She's taking Scout for a walk. His name is Uritton. It's nature spelled backwards, but I just call him Scout. He's my little scout. He's actually being pretty good today. until he woke up. When she pulled in, he was sleeping. He was snoring. And then she brought me out a couple things. Some more pop and uh he woke up. Uh she stopped at McDonald's as you saw, picked me up a couple double cheeseburgers and said she she going to take him down by the river and let him see the water. Last time we was at the site, she brought him out and her mom and we all went down the river and I pushed him in his stroller and he had a good time. Beautiful day, but it's a real feel like 103. So, it's the humidity, you know, like it was like 94 and up in Georgia, but the humidity was low and it felt like our 84. It felt 10° cooler up there than it did here at that same temperature. All right, I'll be back with you. Got music playing in the background. We'll probably get copyright notification. Mommy and baby and daddy. Wow, there's another one. And here we go. Sun's shining and it's pouring. Thought maybe we'd see a rainbow, but see the sun's coming that way. That way should be a rainbow over here somewhere, but I don't see one. Yeah, it's slacking off now. I don't know if this thing's waterproof or not, but we'll find out. Well, that lasted what, a minute and a half, huh? Okay, give me a drink. Monkey brought me out some pork chops. I'm going to have pork chops tonight. Uh, finish that water and grab me a pop. She brought me some more popping water and some snacks and treats, which she brought me more spam. That's good. I like spam. Well, there it is. Supposed to get a storm. I didn't hear any storming. I heard water and I came out and I was like, "Oh, I better grab the camera." And that's it. And here it is again. I don't care about that cuz you know it's a sink and this is you know these are kind of waterproof so they don't get hurt. And mosquitoes are out in bed up just standing here. Well, I guess I'm not fishing for a while. Well, I could though. Yeah, that's got a roof over it down there. That's right. I can still fish, but I'd have to walk down there in the rain now. If it slacks up, I may may go down and fish. Monkey says she's going to come back out after supper times as for a little bit. All right. Sorry you're fogged up, but you know, I just brought you outside. So, every time we go camping, guys. Every single time. That's no joke. All right. Okay. So, the rain has slacked off, but now the thunder's coming. Whoa, that was lightning. Monkey says she can hear the thunder at the house. Heat. Heat. Can't tell which way it's coming from. I don't know if it went kind of like around me. It might have went over top of me, but recording clouds was coming this way. Yeah, it's definitely coming this way. Yeah, it's coming this way. Getting closer, I think. Huh? Oh, yeah. See the clouds up here now. Yeah, it is coming this way. Dang it. Oh, yeah. I don't like lightning, guys. Yeah, it's definitely coming this way. I don't know if you can see the clouds. And I am under a bunch of trees. cuz you know I thought yeah Florida heat trees shade the hell was that? You guys hear that? Oh Jesus. Yep. The boomers are coming. I don't mind boomers. But I don't even mind some wind. I am under some tall trees here and I'm pretty much in a tent on wheels. Ah, awesome. Of course, monkey and I have survived many strong lightning and thunderstorms, high wind storms in a tent. And there's our trail tent. Well, I guess I'm going to go in the cottage and uh Whoa. Wait some more. Damn. Where's the thunder? You guys see the lightning? Where's the thunder? And there it is. Hey, do I I don't know if you guys can hear that, but it sure is rumbling the ground pretty good. That came from this direction, man. It's all around me now. should get my phone and check this out. Hang on. Okay, so this is what we got going on. 81 feels like 92. Let's check the uh check the radar. Oh yeah, my glasses fogged up. I can't really see. that little blue dot there. So, it is I guess it's is kind of going around me. It's 510 right now. So, Oh, yeah. I got some coming right over top of me. All right. Well, let's see how how much more is coming later. Oh, yeah. I'm going to be swamped for a while. at least till about 8:00 and then there'll be some maybe coming after. though. Yeah. All right. I guess I'll keep you posted. And it's calm, too. Calm. Boy, I love those leaves. I just noticed them. Aren't those cool? They're like the fake ones you buy, only these are real. Then there's some blinds over here. I think I might have even filmed them last time I was here. I were here. I was here. Come on, focus. There we go. Shake hearts. That cool. God dang. That was bright. I'm the only one back here in this section. This whole section. There's nobody in this one. And of course, that one's all covered up. Yeah, I'm the only one from I don't even want to step out here. From way over there. That's the closest neighbor I have about what 150 yards. And then that's the office there, which I think we're getting ready to close with. Five. They might be closed. Man, I'm getting eat up by mosquitoes. All right, I better go back in. I'll kick you back on if it starts getting bad. Woohoo. Kicking it up now. Oh jeez. Oh, I don't know if you guys know. Dang it. Those lights over there just kicked on. Yeah, they just kicked on. And of course, you couldn't see it cuz the lens was fogged up cuz I just came outside. I got the air conditioner on, but it's it's on low. So, I guess monkey has to take the baby back tomorrow. The reason why she had the baby is cuz her daughter had to have some somebody come in do some tests or something. So, but they had electrical issues, so they couldn't do that. So, she has to reschedu. So, Monkeyy's going to take the baby back tomorrow. And uh I said, "Yeah, you did on purpose. You just want some more days with out here with me." But uh cuz she loves to go camping, man. This. You know what, man? If I had a caught, I would be laying out here napping right now. I love that sound. Yeah, I might make some Monkey brought Yeah, I showed you, didn't I? Monkey brought me some pork chops. I got macaroni and cheese in there. I got noodles if I want them. Oh, Jesus. Got some snacks. Oh, she she brought me a can of spam and a can of uh what she bought me the other night? Uh corn beef. That's good. Oh, yeah. I feel the rumble. All right, I'll keep you posted. Okay, everyone. We're going to make some pork chops. I I just I thought this was the coolest thing. this uh it's a it's a stove cover, you know, for your camper, for your stove. But Monkey got that. She says, "Oh, it's a little long." I don't care. I think it's cool. I like it. Okay, so there we got there. Yeah, he come out and we're going to have daddy time cuz baby baby's stressing him, hurting these ears. So monkey asked me, "How did that get?" My goodness. Well, that's strange. Yeah, monkey messaged me. You want Bruno to come out? I don't care if he wants to take that out cuz I boiled some water to clean my pans up and it wasn't paying attention and boiled over. So, just get We're just going to make couple pork chops. We're going to make uh we'll make three. I'm going to make two for me and one for him. Uh, let me see. I got to get my lighter and I got to see if I can find my seasoning. Okay, you probably hear it's it's still raining. It's been raining. Make sure that's going to stay lit. Put some oil in here cuz I don't have any butter. Although I have a refrigerator out there. Why I didn't bring butter? I have no idea. Let's see. I can probably make enough probably fit three in there. But let me see. Yeah, I'm going to make Bruno his own. Um, let's see. I'm going to cook Bruno's first. Let that get hot. I'm going to cook Bruno's first and then I'll put about three in for me. I know I said two, but if I make two, I'm going to need another one. I just went up. Monkey pulled in. So, I went out. She had her phone up pointing to her phone. You know, I seen the blue background. I knew she wanted to message me. I'm like, "What? We're right here." here. I'm like, you know, 10 ft from her. So, so I walked in, grabbed my phone. She was like, "You want to take you want to go and get a shower?" And I'm like, "Yeah." You know, I couldn't have took a shower last night anyway, guys, cuz I didn't have I didn't have my stuff. She brought it for me today. So, I grabbed my things. And she said, "Well, that way you don't have to worry about Bruno and you don't have to worry about the rain or anything like that." She said, "I'll just sit in the car uh with Bruno and the baby." So, I went up and had my shower. I'm telling you what, I love these. I love this campground. I mean, it's true old Florida. All right. Oh, no. You know what? I think she took a couple things to wash for me. And I think the tongs were in it. So, I'll just use a fork, I guess. I think I showed you guys these stickers. She said that's me and her. She wants me to find a place to put them. Um, I'll just use a uh just use a fork cuz I'll make his plane. All right. Now, when I get his cooked, man, I thought I kept flour in here. Man, I'm gonna have to make sure. We We just brought a bunch of stuff with us that was supposed to be left in here and monkey thought she forgot it here. Was in the car the whole time. And we got back from Georgia, she just took it in the house and I forgot to bring it cuz, you know, usually we're pretty well self-contained in here, you know. I mean, we pretty much got everything we need. But that's what I'm trying to do. I mean, you know, I've got extra clothes in here if I need them. you know, just old just an old pair of jeans, some socks, underwear, and a shirt just in case, you know. So, we've got pretty much everything we need in here. And then all we got to do is grab our camera equipment and um and our, you know, our clothes and food. Um, but like if we're going somewhere and we're going to be there late, we don't have time to get food or whatever, we always have some food in here, you know. We've got some macaroni and cheese in here. We've got ravioli. Uh, we've got this packaging noodles. Um, we've got stuff we've got stuff in here, you know, canned stuff that that um that like mice can't get into and it won't attract them. But she bought me this. It's not corn beef hash. It's just corn beef. So, I'm trying to lay off the the bread, which didn't help today unless you bought in burgers, but I'm trying to lay off the bread and those vegetables and uh see how that goes. And I noticed, you know, losing 8 lbs in like a week and I wasn't hungry, you know, I was just eating straight meat. So, I kind of cheated this time. You know, I ate noodles last night, of course. the uh spaghetti and meatballs. Oh, uhoh, there's a mosquito in here. All right, I'll bring you back when I get ready to put mine on. I got to get rid of that mosquito before he flies in here. Had to turn the air off cuz I was getting chilly. But now, since I've got this on, I'll probably have to uh I'll probably have to turn it back on for a little bit. As long as little Bruno don't get cold, we'll be all right. It's not quite hot enough, but it'll be all right. I'll make three. I'll wrap this last one up over here. Right there. And then I'll put it in the fridge. I got his bowl ready. It's cooling. And this is in case he wants extra that's left over from his. So, put some of this uh Creole on it. This stuff here. You can go up there if you want, buddy. It's fine. Think he wants up in the bed. That's where him and mommy always go. of that. Just uh some L seasoned salt here. Little bit of salt. Now I got to go get got to get him some water, too. Um let me go get this opened up so he can climb up in there. All right, guys. So, let me get my plate. I'm not going to do a taste test. I know what they are. They're just little bit of seasoned fried pork chops. Excuse me. I already wrapped the other one up. All I had was tin foil. I put it out in the fridge and then this will be my snack for later. So then I'm going to put Bruno's down. His should be cool by now. Put his water down here for him. And then uh him and I are going to eat and watch some TV and I'll be back with you guys. Excuse me before I go to sleep. Good morning everyone. So all right, I'm going to call this video here. Monkeyy's going to be out here soon. She went dropped off the baby. Well, that's what she's doing now. She'll be out and uh she going to start her weekend. So, uh, anyway, I just wanted to share share this video with you, a little solo. Uh, I might film some more, uh, if you guys want to see it. I'll film some more, um, during the rest of the weekend. We're We're here until Sunday. So, what is today? Thursday. So, uh, yeah, Friday, Saturday, got three more days. If it doesn't rain, I'm going to cook some. Where where we going here? I want to cook some uh couple racks of ribs down there on that barbecue. And um but I wanted to do some fishing. I was going to do some fishing last night, but you know the storm it poured and it rained pretty much all night which we need because but we need like 30 more days of that kind of rain to bring the water up. But I'm gonna try to do some fishing. Maybe get one of them kayaks in the next upcoming video. Um, but I don't know how hot it's going to be. It's already hot. It's like noon. It's already hot. Bruno's in there. He's chilling, literally. I let him out to go pee and he want to back in. So, he's right in here. He's in there chilling, waiting on mommy. So, uh, all right, guys. Well, I didn't set out the trail cams. I might do it for the next couple days, but I didn't set them out. But to make up for it, here's a short clip of Dennis Hobbacker, a video he sent me here a couple weeks ago. Uh, I was just waiting like for an outdoor video to include it in. He said, "Here, you can use this this video and use this clip in your video if you want." And I was like, "Cool, sure." So, enjoy his uh his deer video and go check him out. Uh Dennis Hobbacker and uh check out Monkey 1000, guys. And we'll see you in the next one. Thanks for joining or coming along. I know we didn't do much, but you know, the weather wasn't cooperating, but we do need that kind of rain. So, we'll see you guys in the next one. Shay Bear, the myth, the man legend. Gone for now. Bye-bye, guys. Take care. Enjoy yourself. Uh, let's see what one more day. Something beeped inside there. One more day's weekend. We'll see you. Shay Bear M. I'm gone for now. Bye-bye everyone.
