Video summary
The video explores the challenging yet rewarding work of crime scene cleanup companies like Spaulding Decon, which handle sensitive aftermaths including homicides, suicides, and decompositions. The central theme revolves around the necessity of patience and a slow, steady approach when dealing with clients who are deeply attached to their belongings due to past trauma or tragedy. In one specific case featured, a client had worked on cleaning her home for several years but struggled significantly with letting go of items that held sentimental value, such as old furniture and even small objects like sugar packets or raisin boxes. The process was initially extremely stressful and slow, taking eight hours just to move a single car into the garage because the client refused to discard certain pillows or other cherished items.
As the cleanup team persisted with empathy and respect, the dynamic between the workers and the client began to shift positively. Although the first day was fraught with frustration and exhaustion, the team noticed that the client started smiling and making progress each time they visited. This gradual trust-building allowed them to move from a one-on-one interaction to eventually bringing in another technician and even allowing a close friend into the house for the first time. The narrative highlights how the team adapted their methods, choosing not to bring media crews inside once they realized that cameras hindered productivity and added pressure to an already vulnerable individual. Their goal was not just to clean the physical space but to help the client heal emotionally by salvaging what could be saved while gently guiding her toward letting go of the rest.
The ultimate success of the project is measured not only in the cleanliness of the house but in the restoration of the client's sense of normalcy and hope. By the end of the job, the team had achieved a significant milestone: pulling the client's car into her garage after years of it sitting outside, symbolizing a return to stability and order. The cleanup crew plans further renovations, including new flooring, walls, and paint, to transform the home into a fresh start for the family. This story underscores the idea that in situations involving deep grief and attachment, rushing is counterproductive; instead, taking time to understand the client's emotional landscape leads to better outcomes. The video concludes by emphasizing that slow and steady efforts can turn a traumatic situation into a journey of recovery, proving that patience is indeed a vital virtue in such delicate circumstances.

do you ever wonder what happens when the
police leave crime scene cleaners are
private companies that handle to clean
up after the police turned on Spaulding
decon is one of the nation's largest
cleanup companies handling the aftermath
of homicides suicides decompositions
Auden and much more these are stories
and being really quiet today
it's very slow horde process because a
lot of things have about you
so just taking it slowly patience is
definitely a virtue in a situation like
this she's a really sweet lady
just have to bust them
[Music]
we just need to better organize it all
yeah we get rid of the plastic stuff
[Music]
hi guys I'm being really quiet today
it's very slow horde process because a
lot of things have about you
so just taking it slowly patience is
definitely a virtue in a situation like
this she's a really silly lady
I just have to go slow and see if so
that would be because November will be
tenders more there
there's one Roxy slightly more
affordable
I can recommend for our purposes I
wouldn't
vials
that's solely up to you can we see them
absolutely
I'm here until you kick me out so
absolutely this was my first set of
furniture when I moved out on my own
it's so comfortable so I probably won't
keep one pillow me
that's okay so hello is really easily
thrown in the washing machine I I would
actually recommend taking up a lot of
engine to the long term and if you keep
two pillows mm-hmm
that's great we'll say between the end
of the day we can put the pillows and
garbage back so you can take them
if you decide to go that route
but wanting the goal of parking your car
in here
both of these pieces make it with with
the pieces gone makes that whole that
much more tool when it comes to that
time for inside the house if you I will
remind you that hey we have this in here
do you think you're going to use it okay
and then at that point we can conquer
okay now you're talking okay for you to
see poor okay ferns ovation okay for
donation ever oh I messed that all up
the name go to the top and I've gone
through the side do you have a vacuum
inside so do we need to do that can you
okay with donations beautiful okay the
first question how long has it been in
this exact spot since you started
working on it so some many years
okay so the next question how long is
how long ago has a madman worked on
probably at least five years maybe six
okay
Zeca the answer may be set aside think
about yeah I already have one of these
in my house because they came as a set I
already fixed up the other one okay I
don't know who would possibly finish
this if they donated it I don't know who
would possibly finish it because it is a
present for me good table so do you like
to pain not really okay okay so why
don't we stick that in the donation and
then that way so you think someone will
be able something good okay so we can
donate to the animal shelter perfect I
have another one upstairs at Loomis them
will Margie used like once or twice
falling backwards okay I definitely want
to keep those let's see if there's
anything in there
little duckies Halloween rubber duck
those are cute
that's concrete and it's completely
silent it would make a good paperweight
it's waving me down hold my house down
like to get not non-food treats for the
kids that are allergic to so many things
so that way they can still have
something I just buy a lot but don't end
up like giving them all out every year I
think it's for animals I think
[Music]
so it's kind of crazy because this this
client we have worked with for a year
now we chose not to bring our media team
into the house anymore we noticed that
productivity was running super super low
when when it came into cameras and
things like that so the wild thing is is
it took a full eight hours to do the one
garage you could see me you know
bargaining with her on keeping a pillow
or two compared to the entire couch in
order to get her car into her garage we
have grown to love her that first day
was extremely extremely stressful
because down to a sugar packet or a a
raisin box that had been empty for ten
years meant the world to her couches
that she had had since she was a child
meant the world to her but now at the
rate we're going she she actually brings
a smile to my face and she brings a
smile to Juan's face because every time
we walk in she's currently doing her own
progress so you know there's been a lot
of tragedy that's happened in the last
year especially with her and her family
and and she's powering and fighting
through all of that so I'll definitely
upload photos at the end of the job when
we're completely done and so you guys
can see her progress and how everything
has gone but it has been from top to
bottom in the entire house she takes her
she takes her cats to the vet on a
regular on a regular basis now and you
know it we actually look forward to to
going and working at her house it is
still very personal it's still one on
one with myself and one I have just
recently been able to get her out of her
shell enough to bring another technician
in Fiona and it does could be about an
hour to convince her over the phone
before we even got there
so it's it's a big trust thing she
hasn't allowed anybody else in the house
except for us and as of two weeks ago
she had called and told me that she
finally let one of her closest friends
in and
they took a right took a look around
we're currently finishing up a few
smaller items left and we've been
planning a whole renovation project for
her so she's gonna get new flooring new
walls paint you know salvage anything
that we can personally but it's awesome
to see the progress and to grow with a
customer because day one was frustrating
it was aggravating we were worn out from
the garage but that first day we knew
that we were going to be able to succeed
and continue just because at the end of
eight hours her end goal was reached by
pulling her car into her garage and the
card sat outside for years absolutely
years so I hope you guys enjoyed the
episode and stay tuned for some pictures
