Nakashima entered the tournament as the number 28 seed and would get a buy in the first round. In the second round he took on Altmaier, there was no problem getting through in straight 6-2 6-1. In the third round he took on qualifier Dragoo, and this is a battle. After going down a set he fought back to win 4-6 6-2 7-5. In the fourth round he took on Rinberg Knech, the 23rd seed, and after splitting the first two sets he fought back to win 7-6 5-7 7-5 to advance to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals he took on Dutra da Silva, 19th seed, there was no problem getting through in straight 6-2 6-3 to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinals Nakashima would take on Hurkacz, the 20th seed, and after a close first set he would get through in straight 7-6 6-4 to advance to the final. Shelton entered the tournament as the number five seed and would get a buy in the first round. In the second round he took on Brooksby, and after a close second set he would get through in straight 6-3 7-5. In the third round he took on Bergs, there was no problem getting through in straight 6-3 6-2. We saw how, you know, good he was playing against Hurkacz in the last round, especially early in that match. Towards the end of the match he started shake, feel a little shaky, but maybe it was cuz of the moment. He really needs to get off to a good start and really try and block out the head-to-head record that he has badly against Shelton. If Shelton's going to win this one he needs to just keep doing what he's doing. He's played so well in the last couple of matches. He's beaten Fonseca, he's beaten Menshik, and he's also taken out Sinner as well. So, really impressive wins all around, and he's won all of them in straight sets. Very good serving as well. And the serve is going to be crucial if he's going to get the win here. Interesting match-up here. Of course, the head-to-head is so one-sided in favor of Shelton, and that's why I'm going to pick Shelton in a three-setter. I reckon he'll just get it clutch, you know, out of the end. And also, being the moment as well that Shelton has won this tournament, you know, 12 months ago, he knows how to win these big matches.
