She Bleached Her Hair… Then Did THIS

Hi, beautiful. People are doing so much [ __ ] their hair at home every single day of every hour. They're cutting, they're coloring, and they're doing it all with zero experience. This is what happens when you bleach your roots at home without any experience. I already had my 34th meltdown. My hair Guys, we're doing the same [ __ ] where we comb the wet hair. Stop brushing your fragile hair. Oh my god. Also, she has a a strand that is 2 in long. What the [ __ ] What the [ __ ] man? What the [ __ ] >> This is how much came off. Yay. [sighs] >> [gasps] >> Every time I think this [ __ ] can't get worse, it gets progressively worse. That is a whole another head of hair that came off of her head. >> Well, I guess it's time for me to go bald. >> Yeah. >> Goodbye long hair. >> Oh, >> JK. Just getting shoulder length. >> We're doing a whole shoulder length cut, huh? >> It's hat season, baby. >> Oh my god. I mean, the end result is kind of cute, right? Like, it's it's a little shorter, and she definitely needed those ends cut off, but damn, the top of her head looks insane. I wonder how she got here. Just please don't be stupid like me. This is crazy, though. That piece of breakage. I mean, she must have over overlapped that bleach a 100 times because I don't know how you ended up with only an inch at the top of your head. I'm not giving a monometer rating, obviously, because it would be a [ __ ] hell. >> Welcome to my corner and today we're making poor decisions. and I went to Sally's. >> Yo, what's up, Sally X Mondo and at all these other online [music] retailers. So, check us out. We're literally everywhere. >> Yeah, we're going to go basically platinum blonde. So, I've been wanting to do this hairstyle for probably like five [music] or 6 years, but I always wanted to do like a colored version of it. Um, I did do some like highlighting a couple months ago. >> Sorry, the glasses are iconic. I just had to say that before we keep going on. I mean, I love it. They're so fun. Like, how did you end up with those glasses? It is such a vibe. So, I grabbed a lightener. I like powder lighteners. My friend suggested to do like a cream developer or cream lightener, but this is what I know. So, I went with another powder. You're supposed to usually mix like a 40 and a 20 [music] or 40 and a 30. Um, so I'm just going to hope and pray that this works. >> That will work. I mean, they're not the same developers, but and like they're not by the same company, which I tend to try to mix the same hair color brands developers together. So, you know, the formulas are the same. If you mix them together, you should get a 25 volume. 40 + 10 equals 50 divided by 2 is 25. And that's how you calculate that. >> And then for the actual toner, this is one that I got. It is the amethyst ice color. And this one comes with its own type of developer, a five volume. >> We're toning with a demi-permanent color, but we're also toning with like I think a very white bright color, which hopefully we get to a color that is light enough to actually tone white. I doubt it. I mean, she said she hasn't colored her hair in 2 years. Okay. So, we have a little bit of regrowth. that really dark color and then she has like kind of this orangey copper color on the mids and ends. I'm coming around to the idea of this working >> because my hair is probably going to be super fried after this. Um, I got a protein treatment. Hair clips to do sectionings. Broad Bondo can't yell at me now. >> Sure, I can still yell at you, but not about the sections. Ah, cuz you did it right. Ah, we were going to section that out. >> So, this is what we're working with before. I did have those like chunky money pieces and then the tips of my hair had some slight bleaching to them. All the pieces that have bleach still I ended up cutting off later on. But >> wait, hold on. There's a whole lot [music] that just happened. She has a lot of colors going on her head. She's got dark brown. She's got orange. But like it's kind of all over the place. Dark up here, light in the front. The tips are light. So hopefully she doesn't overlap on the existing kind of orange pieces too much to the point where they fall off. The other thing is she said she's going to cut off all the existing blonde pieces. Babe, there's existing blonde pieces all around your head. You're cutting all that off. Are you going to shave your head? What's going on? >> Here is my wonky sections. So, I did my best to take out the blonded pieces already. Um, and then I have like a couple up here. Usually, it's just four quadrant quadrants. [music] I did as many sections as I could sty them. >> Okay. Period. I mean, I love the sectioning. I The more the marrier really. I mean, not really. Like, it actually gets annoying and like in your way at some [music] point. Like, this gets a little annoying. Four is fine, guys. made it to where it was like a nice thick [music] slush consistency. You're going to see the consistency in just a second. I did do two bleaching sessions. [music] I basically just got the rest of the product off of the brush here onto my hair and then used my [music] fingers for the rest of the process. >> Oh my god, that brush is so small. Are we really going to use that on our whole head? Holy [ __ ] that's made for a doll. Not Miss Manyquin, like an actual Barbie doll. >> Making [music] sure that each strand was thoroughly coated. You're going to want to use a lot of bleach, more than I had made. And then also I'm leaving in some funny piece or funny [music] parts of this whole process since my husband was with me. >> I am so glad she changed to using just her hands instead of that Barbie brush because it would have been really difficult. Guys, using your hands with bleach is so underrated. It's definitely a professional thing to use a brush, okay? But you don't need to do that because you're not a professional. You can use your hands to apply [music] bleach and usually you're going to get on more evenly and efficiently because we're made to use our hands as human beings. These are very useful things. >> Don't do that. There's hair and dirt on the floor. It's bleach. It's going to kill whatever is in there. >> It's not a general thing, but now it's just like all up in your hair. >> I will say that the one thing I regret about the first round of bleach [music] was not going 90° for every piece of hair. >> Oh, it's stinky. >> Yeah, this area was like it was stinky. This bleach was burning my eyes much more than it usually does. >> Oh, guys, it's painful sometimes [music] when you're bleaching your own hair. Those fumes go right into your eyes and they sizzle and they burn and it sucks a lot. WAIT, GUYS. [laughter] She combed it through. This is the best day ever. Wa! She combed the bleach through. Look how evenly saturated it is. And she's leaving about 2 in or like an inch and a half off of the roots. So, that's awesome, too. Holy [ __ ] This is going really well. She is working all up the head and making sure every single hair strand is covered and doing a really good job at it. Okay, girl. I mean, I see you with that sectioning. It's working for you. And I love that your husband or your boyfriend is feeding you while you work. I need that treatment at some point in my life. Ooh, she is putting in the work though. She's doing every little hair strand, like the tiniest of hair strands. Like her sections are teensy tiny. Also, I love to see that as well. When in doubt, take tiny ass sections. >> So, [music] this was after about 30 minutes. I'm going in and just touching [music] up my roots now that I have let it develop a bit more on my ends. And this is where I regret not going at like a 90° angle [music] as intensely with the back part of my head. Not the crown, but just below [music] the crown. That's the part that I struggle with the most, just cuz that's where the bulk of my volume is, is right in that area. Okay. Wait, I'm lost. I was excited just then because she started to apply it to her roots at the perfect time. Like her hair had just had gotten light enough to now apply to the roots. You want it this light, very blonde before you then go in with the roots. and she started to do the roots, but then she kind of applied it [music] weird. Like, I don't know why she's not just doing the whole root. Just go back where we started and apply a [ __ ] ton of color to the roots. You can even comb it all the way through the ends again and just refresh all that bleach again. And this would be perfect. Why the [ __ ] did we do it wrong? IT WAS JUST GOING SO WELL. >> I have a lot of hair right [music] there. So, next time I'm going to be more mindful of that. Just going in getting the roots. And I'm going to leave it on for another 15 minutes [music] and wash it out. >> What do you mean getting the roots? You're barely touching the roots, huh? And then off camera, I do this part that I had sectioned away. And then I didn't touch that front part of my head. I decided to just do that at a later date. [music] It's yellow. The front here, basically, I had like these parts I did separate. I think that they matched pretty well. There's [music] not significant color differences between like this section and this section, which I did on two separate goes. [music] >> I was trying to go for like this color that I'm holding right here. >> I mean, it's pretty even, but why are the roots dark? Huh? >> What? Oh. for the first go. Obviously, I probably should have left it on a little bit longer and maybe layered the lightener a bit thicker on that middle section. And I have severe banding. So, we're going to have to try to fix that. >> Okay. Wait, wait, wait. You don't have banding. That's just a matter of like one section was up higher, the next section was painted lower, and it gives this effect of like [ __ ] up checkerboard look. But that's like fine. You just need to do your roots. Why are the roots still not done? How do we end up not doing the roots? I'm lost. >> I'm just going to go through and show you the banding that we have. So, that's pretty rough. Um, but like I said, I still have at least two more bleach sessions to go. >> Did she say two more bleach sessions? Why so many? >> So, now we're on to round two. I decided to leave in the part of me sectioning it. So, I'm doing that six section again and then I leave that bottom [music] part. Um, which tends to be like the easiest part for me to do. And this time I actually got down on [music] the floor and did a two mirror setup unlike last time just to really confirm like I got it done right. >> We're also doing a million sections again which fine, I'll take it. Okay, >> the sectioning is two like horizontal sections. Here I have my two space buns and then my bangs are also sectioned out into two just because they were pre- bleached already. And then these are the results. Okay, so um >> Oh, >> I'm about to basically just take a shower. >> So, she didn't show us the process really of applying it, but I guess it was the same thing as last time. And now we're here, which is much lighter and brighter and really exciting. Ooh, this is exactly the vibes we need [music] to go icy amethyst. Use some purple shampoo and strip purple conditioner to maybe get this a little bit brighter, a little less highlighter yellow. >> Yeah, I agree with her. She needs to lighten her hair again. I really we should have been there [music] by now, but you know, third time's a charm and we will get it there. >> I knew if I wanted to get the color that I wanted, I would need to do another round of bleach. So, I was nervous that another round of bleach might damage it. For the most part, I fixed the bandings. It's not perfect. >> Why are the roots not colored? I don't understand. >> This is how my hair turned [music] out after bleach round two. Okay, so it has been a couple weeks and I do, as you [music] can see, I already have some regrowth, but I'm actually not stressed about that. >> Girl, that's more than a two week regrowth. That is a full four weeks because we didn't even do the roots. Hold on. Do you think you did the roots? Cuz why is it giving you think you did the roots, but you actually didn't do the roots? I don't I'm a little lost. Somebody explain. >> Um, so we're going to finish off with these. I have to, like I said, I'm going to just do one and see how much that covers and then go from there. >> I mean, I don't know what amethyst white actually is. I'm sure it has violet pigments in it because usually anything that has white in it, it's really just a very light combination of violet [music] and clear. It's very simple formula typically just made to cancel out the yellow tones, which is good for her, but I don't know if her hair is really that light to go white. We would definitely need to bleach it again if we want that pure white look, but this it might be okay. It might just cancel out some of those yellow tones and make her hair kind of just this neutral color. >> Also, doing the purple shampoo did help. That did help a little bit with the brightness of the hair, but it obviously quickly faded. The toner definitely didn't work the way I needed it to. This was after two rounds of bleach, and I decided to tone it just to see. And then I went in with the hair mask, so I did that off camera. And then I was kind of freaking out because this is what my hair looks like right after washing out the toner. There's like splotches of gray most likely where my hair was most damaged, so it was easier to take on that color. And it just didn't look very even. So, I was very nervous because I'm like, "Okay, well, once it's fully dry, you're going to be able to see all the mistakes." And you definitely couldn't. >> Yeah, that happens, guys. When your hair is um bleached unevenly, [music] you definitely end up with more porous spots and less porous spots. That's why before you put a toner on to very bright blonde hair. You want to make sure that palette is I was so close to being perfectly even. It'll just look so much better. Just you got to bleach it until that is even or until your hair almost falls out. Do the pull test, you know? Just make sure your hair doesn't fall out, please. >> It didn't seem like grayish or too purplish. And then also, I feel like I got hot roots out of nowhere, but I think that [music] that might have just been I had that and it was more noticeable when it was wet. >> Those roots are orange. Yeah, you didn't let the bleach sit on the roots for long enough. You let them sit on the ends for long enough, but not the roots. That needs another process before we then go in and tone. >> We're definitely going to be doing another round of bleach after doing this protein treatment. I'm not loving the fact that we have some roots some places that are very dark and then we have orange banding and we have really bright blonde in some areas. Like it's just all over the place. >> This is my hair right before bleaching session. [music] I did a few test strands on some things. >> Oh, we're bleaching again. >> This is what my hair looked like after one more round. >> So, this is going to be the last update for this particular video. >> Now, why does it look the same? There's still a yellow band at her root. What the hell is that? >> What the hell is even that? >> What? I don't get it. >> So, I kind of regret doing the hot pink if I'm being totally honest because I ended up getting my hair exactly how I wanted it. It was literally so perfect [music] and I kind of ruined it after the pink. It does not end up as bright as it was here. Um, but yeah, I'm just going in with that toner. >> She's combing the toner through. I love all the combing through. It's so exciting for me. There you go. There's a jump for you. >> So, at this point, I was kind of freaking out. That calculated error. I thought this was going to be way too purple. You can kind of see how it sticks more [music] to the damaged parts of my hair. The parts that look like it doesn't have toner on it, they do. 100% smothered. >> All right, we've applied all the toner. It's looking actually really scary. It's looking purple on a lot of pieces. >> This was the result, but it literally was the perfect like purple icy blonde. It was a little bit patchy, but not too bad. And it honestly looked really good. I just really really loved it. Oh gosh, this worked so well. I highly recommend you [music] guys try it out. >> See, for me, I'm not a huge fan of it. And also, the roots being yellow and then the ends being a really ashone really kind of throws me off. Not my favorite thing ever. You definitely got your hair light. Four of these developer, two of the actual powder bleach. >> I have never seen bleach powder like that. like just comes in a huge clear bag that works, but like damn, I've never seen that before. It's crazy. I don't know what level developer, but we're mixing something together. >> And it feels like it's like a good consistency. I have no clue what I'm doing. So, just going to hope for the best. I think this is the section that I'm going to struggle with the most like at the back. Obviously, I can't see the back of my head. We're going to rely on mirrors, which is not ideal. >> She looks at the mirrors. One's on this wall and the other one's on this wall. Like, girl, that's not going to help you. We got to have them like this and like this. My hair is obviously very dead and I am going to record so much more. >> Oo, we're doing a major haircut, too. Okay, I'm excited about that. I mean, her hair is beautiful. I don't think [music] she needs to cut that much off. Maybe an inch, but I think she just said she's going to do a major haircut, so I'm excited about that. >> Okay, so I've just finished putting it all over my roots. >> Roots, darling. >> The issue that I'm facing is that I This section's already developed. I knew this would end up happening, but actually beauty saw me made it to then it would be fine. So, we're just going to trust the process. >> It looks like she put it on kind of the midsections of the roots, so she didn't do her actual like one in of root first, which honestly would have been fine if she just did the entire root at once, but I think she was being careful cuz the heat from the scalp makes the bleach process faster. So, she puts it right on the scalp right away. She might get a little bit of a banding of a lighter color and then a darker blonde after [music] that because of the heat distribution is irregular. Um, this one's like already developed really well. This side has already started doing well. This is the side I've just finished and it has lightened a lot already. I'm worried about how uncovered her hair looks. Like, it doesn't look saturated in bleach, which it really should. You should have a nice coating of bleach on there for it to really work and have a lot of strength behind it to get that hair nice and bright. Also, I don't think the back is done yet. I think she thinks it's done, [music] but it is not light enough in my opinion. I don't know. I was looking from the back. I'm scared. I actually haven't looked at the back. I feel like I've missed a big section. Oh my god. >> Girl, the back is dark and not even close to being done. Do not rinse that out, please. Everybody rinses their hair too [ __ ] soon. Stop. >> Just hate the burning feeling on my scalp. Physically like painful. Like um it's not like when I tried to go from brown to blonde. That was horrendous. But it's lightening really really fast. I'm honestly tempted to just run shampoo through my hair cuz I've accidentally got some like down here. >> What do you mean just run shampoo through your hair? Please, no. Please, please, no bleach baths for today. Please, just give me a break for one [music] single week of the [ __ ] bleach baths. Oh my god. We're about to do a bleach bath again, aren't we? It's not even that blonde yet. Like, chill. I put some on my head just before I wash it off. Give it like 10 minutes to develop and it should be like a white blonde and not like a yellow blonde like it currently is. >> Yeah. The issue is I do see overlapping. And so that part that she's overlapping the existing bleach parts with new bleach, she's going to have a white band going through there. What we can do if we accidentally overlap like that is just spray water on just that area. like concentrate [music] the nozzle and spray it right on that little line that you overlap so it doesn't process too light too bright and also doesn't break off. That would also not be good. Stop touching it. >> I haven't done more than one color, by the way. I want to do like an underdy. Haven't figured out what color yet. I do already have some colors. The worst part is I have like really really sensitive scalp like at the bottom here and then behind my ear. >> We're doing an underdy. I think she means she's going to color the bottom of her hair a different color than the top. Fun. It's going to be a whole transformation. I like how she's saying she doesn't like her roots colored blonde, even though she's doing that. You could also just leave them brown and do highlights, you know? >> I wonder if the hardest part is actually going to be trying to cut my hair to be honest. So, it's like red raw. >> Girl, it's because you keep scratching your head over and over again. That's why your scalp's turning so red and becoming so sensitive. Stop scratching it. Damn. Leave that [ __ ] alone. >> So, I'm just going to go through find sections that are still like got brown poking out. Add some extra bleach onto those bits. And then I might make some more just to stick it through the ends just for like 10 minutes. Why are we running the bleach through the ends? We don't need to do that. Your ends are already really nice and bright and they look amazing. Let's not add damage to the hair for no reason. I guess I'll strap in and understand her reason first before absolutely [ __ ] idea. So, hold on a second. >> I don't know what this is looking like. So, we're going to hope that it's all covered. >> It's looking orange. Your roots are yellow. And you decide to put more color on the rest of your hair. That was perfectly matching your roots now. So, now your ends are going to be lighter than your newly bleached roots. It's a whole mess. >> I don't know if that was a good decision or not. Um, it does look a lot lighter. And I definitely think I need to get it off ASAP, to be honest, cuz otherwise my hair is going to start falling out cuz it is like extremely extremely like white blonde now. Definitely should have used a 30 developer on it. Okay, we were using 30 volume on the roots. And we used the same 30 volume on the [ __ ] ends. Way too much. I mean, a 10 volume would have probably done the trick of just boosting those ends a little bit, making them a little bit brighter, a little bit more crisp, a little bit fresher. 30 volume, that's where we get into breakage territory. I've got some purple shampoo to wash it with. This is like an ashy one. Hopefully, it does not turn out orange. I think the purple shampoo should like completely cure the orange in my hair. To be honest, I don't normally use this much shampoo, but because I'm like focusing on combing it and not actually just washing it. >> Sorry, I'm caught up on the fact that she rinsed out her entire head all at once when she started on the back of her hair. The back of your hair has been sitting on for about 30 more minutes in the front of your hair. So, why was everything rinsed at the same time? Rinse the first sections first, second sections second, or however many you do, rinse them at different times. Time them accordingly. Every section should be on the same amount of time. Okay? So, if you do 30 in the back, you do 30 in the front. Or if you do 30 on the right back, you do 30 on the left back. >> Oh my god, your t-shirt's wet. It's fine. It was one that I used for brown dying. Anyway, >> what's that, brother? Ooh, was that a big brown spot in the back or was it just me? Hate to see like that so much. What the [ __ ] guys? If we just section and put the [ __ ] bleach on there heavily, you'll be fine. >> This shampoo is so much more pigmented than the other. I am genuinely shocked cuz I didn't think they would be. But yeah, this one's definitely a lot better. It feels like it's made my hair back to blonde. I was going to record the rest of the process, but I've just realized how bad the burns are on my neck. So, I'm going to get in the shower properly and make sure I like definitely rinse all the bleach off. >> The burns are that bad. Okay. Damn. Well, let's chill with the [ __ ] bleach then. Okay. I don't know who I don't know who I'm talking to, honestly. I get burns as [music] well and I just keep going. I mean, it's a price you got to pay sometimes if you have sensitive skin and you want to be blonde. It's hard, but you got to do it, you know. >> Good morning. I woke up this morning looking like Draco Malfoy, which we need to change immediately. >> Oh my god. I mean, listen, the top of her head is definitely orange and [ __ ] up for sure. But damn, those mids and ends. Every blonde wants that. Okay, you have it. >> Decided on like a halo dye. So, I'm going to do this lilac color on like the underside. And then I'm going to try and tone the top a little bit better using the mix of these two. And I'm just going to put them on dry hair and hope it doesn't like dye my hair purple or blue. What if we used semi-permanent color that was made to like tone fresh bleached hair like platinum top coat? What if we did it? What h what would happen? You know what I mean? Like you can use purple shampoo in extreme situations like this when you really want to tone a lot of orange out of your hair. Purple shampoo is not necessarily going to work. Okay, purple shampoo is going to take the edge off of that yellow you're seeing in your hair and it's great. I love purple shampoo after I bleach my hair, but that's because my hair is lightened to a level 9 or 10. Yours is an eight. That's not going to help that much. Normally I'm against box dyes, but I think this is just a color cream. I got this in a charity shop to be honest with you like 3 years ago. >> Box dies are fine, guys. They're not all bad. And that is just semi-permanmanent color. So you're not putting like developers in it. You're not risking breaking your hair off. So I would trust it just fine. >> This is from what I used yesterday. Like my hair literally falls out in clumps. It's so hard. I used to have like such thick hair. >> That's because we're overlapping this [ __ ] Okay. Every time you color your hair, you're going to keep losing more hair until one day you don't have any hair on your head. You got to stop overlapping before it goes too far. You're going to be [ __ ] >> This is how much hair like falls OUT ON A >> OH, this I have no clue whether dye is actually going to stay on the hair as well. >> I like to use like a bore bristle detangling brush for hair like [music] yours. I don't tend to use very rough, hard ass bristle >> because I normally don't have a great relationship with pastel dyes. I've had pastel hair in the past before. >> Guys, anytime a brush makes that noise >> because I normally don't have a great relationship with >> Get rid of it. You don't need to be brushing your hair so aggressively. When the bristles are long and really hard, they are just ripping hair out of your head unnecessarily. Girl, you got to take your fingers and [music] and rake it apart first before you then go in with your brush. I couldn't find the other pack of dye, but I'm only doing like this halo section, so I think there's going to be plenty. Oh my god, I can't believe how dead my hair actually is. Like, it is really really bad. I think I'm supposed to do it on damp hair because it's not super pigmented and it's like a pastel color. I'm just going to do it on dry hair and then hopefully hopefully it like adheres to my hair a bit better. >> If you're not a hairdresser, I would just recommend following the directions. I would dampen your hair. It's very easy to dampen your hair. You just put your hair in the sink, wet it, and then towel dry it. And then you're good to go. And then you're following the directions. But what will happen here is it might not pick up very evenly because it uses water to kind of equalize the paracity so that the color adheres better and more evenly. Whereas when you apply it on dry hair, it does the opposite. It'll pick up really, really deep on the spots that are drier, and the spots that are healthier will pick up less. So I just would follow directions. You know, do it how it tells you to do it. Now, I've used the entirety of this tube and I think it's looking so blue rather than purple. I think what I'm going to do is wash this out and then put a direct dye on and like just mix it with conditioner. >> Yeah, that's exactly why it's supposed to be done on wet hair. Um, it looks dry as [ __ ] I don't know what color this is. Like a periwinkle, like a little light blue pastel moment. It's kind of cute. I don't know if it's going to be enough to cancel out those yellow tones and to also deposit pigment on top of it, but we shall see. I also think Yeah, follow directions and you might have enough next time. This looks dry as [ __ ] >> So, it's lighter. It's like more of a pale color cuz this is like literally looking blue and I really don't want my hair to be blue. And it's also dead patch it cuz I didn't have enough dye to cover all my hair. It's definitely not the brown. I'm going to go get my direct dye. >> It was supposed to be purple. It definitely looks blue to me. It's >> definitely looking more blue than lavender, but it is actually quite a pretty color. I also don't know if I'll wash it all out because I'm going to stick like a conditioner on the top of it. I don't think it matters too much. That was ha weird cuz there was absolutely nobody at the top. This is the one I used to use. >> Okay, so she thinks she rinsed out that previous color and now she's putting a new semi-permanmanent color on top which is just plain purple. So like it's a pretty dark purple which honestly the blue before will help this purple be more vibrant because she just canceled all the yellow in the hair and now she's putting purple over it. It's going to be [ __ ] bright and vivid. I'm actually excited for this. >> This feels the more the color that I wanted. It's definitely not adhering to the roots very well. That's probably just cuz it's a a darker blonde, but it might give like a nice natural looking ombre. Right, I stick this conditioner and leave it on for a bit whilst I put like a toner on the top. I ended up doing [clears throat] hair food mixed with conditioner. I don't know if it's going to work, but it feels like the best option. >> I mean, I think it will work for sure. I mean, using cine print and color to cancel out the orange tones in blonde hair is totally great. I love doing that personally because I don't like committing to one certain [music] tone. You can tone your hair with permanent color or dip permanent color after you bleach it. But again, I prefer semi-p permanent color like what she's doing. So that over time you can switch the color. You can have it more cool tone. You can have it more warm. You can kind of adapt your hair to how you feel. There's also no damaging factor about using sign permanent color. So pretty great. >> It's going to be difficult to wash this cuz obviously it needs to be done separately otherwise the color will run. I just love my blonde so much, but I just wanted like some sort of color cuz I got like bored of just being blonde all the time. I've just washed off this and then accidentally washed some of that off, which this is actually looking like really well toned now. My idea has worked quite well. Yeah, I'm actually quite happy with how it's turned out. Like there is a bit of a a dark root with like some silver highlights, but I think that looks quite better than I could have imagined to be honest. And the purple looks so good. I'm going to do the cutting now. >> I mean, for me it's not perfect, but I get what she's saying. But the roots are definitely yellow and then it goes into silver and then she has purple in the front which was good. It's nice. I got to see it dry though. >> All I know about cutting hair is what Chachi PT told me to do. It told me to bring it into two sections. Bring it in front. I am using more paper scissors again. >> Okay, I don't mean this whole cut in the front thing because it just makes it kind of like a Vshape in the back, which is totally fine. Just I can tell she wasn't about to brush out her hair before she cut it and that stressed me out so much. But we didn't get the cutting part on camera apparently. So, we're just going to get to the results now. >> This [screaming] my hair is not looking quite as it was. I am genuinely so happy with it. I think it's [music] turned out so good. definitely think cutting a fringe was the right decision. I'm still questioning whether they actually make these [music] front bits shorter so then I can like have it as like a not like a full fringe, but you know when people have like the like tiny strands, [music] what's it called? So, I've never really suited a fringe, but I feel like this suits me. And then I just quite like to have like some like wispy bits. I think it looks so good and I'm so happy with it. >> What the [laughter] [ __ ] That is crazy. All I can ever think of when she shows her hair is how ethereal it is. She looks like anime character hair. Like I don't even know. It's something I've never seen before. Like that hair is just so pretty. Obviously I'm sad that the roots are yellow, but everything else looks f incredible. Just please process those roots longer next time so that everything's even. You look incredible. I love this color and I love that you did the purple peekaboo underneath. It looks so cool and it adds a little bit of a flare and brings out your personality. And for that, I'm gonna have to give you a four on the model meter. >> I used to be really, REALLY BLONDE. PERIOD. AND I loved it, but my hair got so fried. Had my blonde hair for maybe like 7 years, and I had it as white as you can go without it actually falling off your head. Some of it did fall off of my head. The point is, I'm here today because I want to go back to being blonde. I'm sick to death of my hair color. I went back to my natural color because I needed to let it regrow and be normal again. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Back up. [ __ ] Is this your natural hair color? I'm going to ask one more time. Is this your natural hair color? I actually thought you had already bleached it and it was just orange. I don't think I've ever seen such bright orange natural hair color like this. I mean, it is I don't even know what to think of it. It's just very bright and very orange. I've been letting my hair get nice and dirty and disgusting for the last couple of days. Not to get too into it, but I've been dealing with some health problems. Basically, my iron, specifically my iron, but a lot of my red blood cell counts have been all out of whack. My hair has been shedding like crazy just by me doing that. Well, you can't really tell. So, she's losing her hair from health reasons, which I'm so sorry. That is very tough. But now we're going to bleach it. I feel like those two things don't go well together, but that's just me. I feel like that's a bad idea because now you're already losing your hair and then you're going to put bleach in it, which is going to make your head probably lose more hair. Hate the idea. So, she's sectioning her hair out into four sections. I don't know what's going on with the front of her hair. It looks to be like a zigzag, but at least we tried to do four sections. I appreciate that. Thank you so much. And um by the way, her inspo pics were platinum white blonde. Again, she's losing her hair already. And we're going to go white blonde. Oh boy. I have done some test strands. This one was 20 volume. This one was 10 over here. I don't even think you can really tell. This is the section in I got going on. It'll have to do. My thought here is to do the ends. I'm going to wash it and then go back and do my roots. Be easier for me to do it. I know myself. And that way if the ends didn't lighten up when I'm doing my roots, I can just throw a little bit more on the ends. I'll do two scoops. Two scoops of powder. Do I really measure my developer? Not really. I eyeball it. What if I got this whole thing set up and I just went through that whole spiel and I was like, actually, I'm not doing it. I'm utilizing a comb just to make sure I pull apart every piece. >> Okay, she's going in with I think 20 volume. I think that this is going to be fine. Even if it's 30 volume or 20 volume, I think it both are going to work. So, that's cool. And the thing I love that she said is that she's using a comb. Oh, I love it so much. The way she combed her hair out before putting that bleach on. Ooh, now if you want to even do it better, comb the hair out after you put the bleach on. That way, you know you got every single hair strand covered. >> I was not allowed to color my hair. My mom was not about that. I would always ask to get my hair colored. The answer was was a resounding no. To the point where my mom took me to where her best friend would do her hair. All the ladies in the shop pretty much took up an oath saying, >> "We are not touching Hannah's hair with lightener." >> We are combing the bleach through. Yay. [applause] Oh my god. Wow. Nobody ever does that. That's incredible. She also has the best palette to comb the bleach through. Like her hair is fine and thin, so like it's easy to comb the bleach through. I also have fine thin hair. like it's just like it goes right through. Just slips right on through. It's a beautiful easy way to make sure you got that on evenly. >> So, I did highlights. That was the first time I ever had color in my hair. And the girl did a really good job. It accentuated the orangess of my hair, which I didn't want. That was the exact opposite of what I wanted. That wasn't her fault. It was nothing she did. The highlights were done well. The low lightss, the natural hair that was left behind that was not highlighted. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. When I turned 18, of course, that's when I went buck wild. I was pretty tame. I got to be honest, I was a pretty tame kid. >> Like I said, I just got so nervous what other people would think that I was afraid to even do anything, which is not the way to live. >> Wait, so this is her natural hair color? I think she's telling a story about how when she was younger, people wouldn't touch her hair because her hair color was so pretty. It is so pretty. I still can't believe this is her natural hair color. That's insane. While she's going through this, she's doing some things really great, which is just put the foil on top and we're not folding it. I asked that also every week for everybody to stop folding every single foil they put on and nobody ever does it. But she's doing it so [ __ ] good. I love to see it. The only thing that I'm mad about is that these foils [music] are sitting really low. They have to be up really high to the scalp because your next section is going to [ __ ] miss the foil. The bleach is going to sit higher than the foil, which is going to give you bleed marks, lines across your head. It's not going to be cute. Okay. The other thing happening here that I don't love is that we're going way too close to the root. We want to leave an inch out. And also, bleach expands often. So, you can even leave it like an inch and a half of the root out because that bleach will travel up slowly as it processes [music] cuz it gets kind of foamy and then yeah, it travels up the hair strand. So, be careful. This is probably going to go end up going up to your root which is going to end up giving you hot spots like spots that lighten brighter than the mids and ends [music] which is definitely not ideal. That's going to look like [ __ ] She is working all around the back of her head, trying to get this on all very evenly. And I believe that she is. She is combing every single section and putting quite a lot of bleach on the head and using the foils properly without folding them and making it into, you know, more work for her that she just doesn't need to be doing. So, I'm so excited about that. This is all looking very, very promising and everything is more or less good and besides the root thing that she's kind of messing up, but more or less pretty good. >> I'd say this is like level six. bleach out my hair enough to lift it up to a level six. I'll try and tone it as best as I can, but you know, trying to match a natural red shade is pretty much impossible. It's so hard. When I did that, my hair melted off. The reason I'm starting in the back, this is probably going to take me a minute. By the time I get to the front, the hair in the back might be ready to go. Well, I don't know. We'll have to see. I can give any pointers. Lighter doesn't really go on like a set time. I mean, you don't need to leave it on there forever and always. I mean, I can't put this on and say, "Okay, well, I can cuz I know my hair." It's more of just like checking on it, making sure everything is still intact and lifting how it should. >> Exactly. I'd be telling you guys that you can't just read the box and go, "Oh, okay. Leave it on for 30 minutes." Lightener keeps working. She's going to town on the hair for a very long time. There's no set amount of time. You just need to lighten it until your hair is light enough. Okay? And then you rinse it off. You have to look at what's going on on your hair. Do you understand what I mean by that? No. Okay. Well, that's too bad. >> I can't wait to get to the front of my head so I can see. I feel like such a dingus looking in this mirror. I really can't tell which way I'm supposed to. The one directly in front of me, but then when I look to the what you're seeing when I look into that one, I start going the opposite direction. Like, don't go that way. Go the other way. That's the most painful part of using a mirror behind you and in front of you because you are going backwards when you look into that mirror back there. Everything is backwards. It's a pain in the ass. But the more you do it, the more you get used to it. And now I can full on do my own highlights and haircuts and everything. I do my own hair completely, by the way. Nobody else has my hair. And I just used that mirror and I got used to the backwardsness. >> Man, I hope this works. Okay, first sectioning done. But we are still taking very nice kind of paper thin sections, combing, applying, combing again, and putting a foil on top. I'm glad she hasn't given up yet. I'm glad those sections haven't gotten any thicker. That's what usually happens. They get to the front of their head and they start to get lazy and [ __ ] goes not. It just ends up really bad. Not cute. But she's doing a good job. Things are looking up still. Oh god, this is taking forever. That's all, folks. Cha-ching. I think I need to take some of these out. I can't tell. Is there yellow spots in the Okay, we just completed the front as you saw. And I mean, the back is definitely done. That must have taken a long time. And we got foil in there with I think 20 volume. And so that [ __ ] going to get bright cuz her hair is naturally very light. We probably didn't need to leave it on for that long. And hopefully she's going to rinse out the back first. Wow. I think it's definitely going to be a little bit yellower, but that's all right. I've been sitting here. I don't know when the camera turned off. It's probably been like 20 minutes. I've taken out the back. She's blonde. Okay. A little foil over top of this because the very top of it was still cooking. But yeah, I've been cleaning. I'm going to turn the camera off. You guys aren't going to watch me do this. I'm going to attempt to take my shirt off. Keep the foils up here still on, but I need to rinse the back. Yes, we are rinsing the back out first. I love to hear that. Now, we didn't do the roots yet, which is fine. You can do the roots after you've shampooed your hair, but it's going to be more painful and your scalp is just going to be raw from the shampoo. But again, you can do it. I would just have preferred you to do the roots once your mids and ends got like a light yellow color so that everything [music] just lifts up at the same time. You only need to shampoo your hair one single time. It's like laying right on my neck and it's so itchy. Wish me luck on that. It could be a disaster. All right. Sorry. I got my washers going and I'm not mad at it. Very gold, very yellow. This side, however, over here, in comparison to the back sections I did, this was the last one I stopped at. Maybe half a shade darker than this side, but I'm not mad at it. Yeah. Why are we rinsing up the entire bag [music] together? We did the first section first and the second section second. That means we do rinse the first section first and the second section. Second, second section second. What happened there? I think the first section is for sure light enough. Like, it is bright. >> And my roots look horrible, but I did a really rough just rinse out. I probably still have some lightener in here if I'm being I do. Just waiting for the front to catch up with everything. I know. I mean, it's blonde. It's lifting. TBD. My ears are hurting. What in the Rick Flare drip? Oh my god. It clearly didn't do that great of a job of missing my roots. Got them pretty good. Or at least it swelled up and covered my roots. >> Yep. The roots are covered. That's what happens. It swells up and covers. Your hair has three different shades of yellow and orange through it. >> [laughter] >> What happened? >> Well, we got some cheetah spots to fix up. My bad, y'all. I used a little bit of that purple shampoo. I don't know if it did anything cuz I didn't see it before from the fresh rinse from the fresh rinse of Pair. I think I'm taking a break just for a second. Look at my face. >> Her face is burned. >> I tried not to scrub my scalp, but I scrubbed my scalp. I might wait till tomorrow to do my roots cuz honestly, by the time I wake up in the morning, she's greasy as hell. >> Wait to do your scalp because holy, you just scrubbed your scalp. I worry for you. I [music] really do worry for you. That's going to be painful if you try and go in with bleach right away. It's going to sizzle and burn. >> When I'm doing my roots, 10 volumes developer, run it over the ends. Well, wait and see. My god. Be patient. I'm sorry. I did [music] not film it. I put it on my roots. It's spicy and it hurts. It's very spicy, tingly. Like, do I want to wash it off? Yes, I do. I don't want this on my scalp anymore, but it's only been 15 minutes since I put it on. >> Okay, so she uses 10 volume, which is great. I think that's a perfect decision to do [music] on her scalp because she does not need a lot of lift at all and most of her roots are already lifted. So, we're kind of just overlapping on top of already bleached [music] hair, which is also a concern and whatever. But we also put a bag on the head, which is perfect. Not over her face, but on her head, which is amazing cuz that is going to help lift that hair, make sure the heat stays in, everything's going to process beautifully, right? We're putting good vibes out there. If we want this to work, I don't think I'm going to pull it through the ends cuz I just don't want to. But after this, I'm done for the night. I need to give my scalp a break. I can't believe I'm back to being blonde. I feel very much myself being blonde. [laughter] >> Like right in front of my window before toner. I don't think I missed any spots, but you tell me. Interested to see if it tones this differently than this. I don't know. Okay. Wo. I mean, it is light. And yeah, toner will definitely help this. Just a little bit of violet with a little bit of clear. If we're doing a demi-permanmanent toner, I would definitely recommend doing that. like a demi violet clear formula. It would kick this yellow out while still keeping it bright and fresh. Would love to see that. Probably not going to do that, but we'll see. Second of all, this now your hair color being this bright makes your eyebrows look so dark. I would be obsessed if you bleached your eyebrows as well. I'm just saying. >> I used to use Snow Cat by ION. I wasn't planning on going like stark white like what I used to do. If I can give a tip, unless you've done your hair and you know how it's going to turn out, but I wouldn't recommend buying your toner before you lighten it. You're going to look crazy going to the hair store afterwards because you don't know what your hair is going to lift up to. Having said that, I went ahead and bought my toner before. [laughter] Blondme 10-1 Pearl Glaze. And then there was one called Icy Glaze or Icy or something like the whole bottle of Pearl. And that was really the only one that I wanted, but they only had one bottle. And I was like, I should probably get something that's got something cool in it. >> I love a pearl toner. One of my favorite [music] things for blonde hair. It just makes it kind of this like creamy silver white color and it's just beautiful like a pearl. That's why it's called pearl. You get the point. 2 oz of Pearl Glaze and then 1 oz of the icy. I did 10 volume developer. I'm only going to let this sit on for just a little bit more. I started in this section. So, I finished with this side. When I finished it was 1050, so I'll probably give it five more minutes. It's not looking quite dark enough or like it's going to do enough of a toning job, but hey, we might work. >> This is what it looks like. I think safe to say mission accomplished. It's more of like a buttercream. Definitely got some yellow still in it in this section cuz this was old highlights and then this was I don't really know what I'm fine with it. Maybe next go around when I bleach my roots maybe I'll run lightener through the ends or I'll get a different toner. Just from here on out I will be blonde. The blonde [ __ ] is back. Oh my god. Yay. Yay. Yay. Yay. Yay. Yay. Yay. Holy [ __ ] That was a big transformation. And also the eyebrows look so much better now. I think she like colored them in and made them a little more ash tone, which I think compliments this new hair color a lot. And I think that the hair color is pretty damn good. Like it is almost perfect. It is quite even. She already points out the little bit of yellow in the midsection, but whatever. It's not usually like ever perfect when you're doing a bleach and tone. >> Bleach and tone. >> It's so difficult to make it perfect, but this is good enough for me. I think this is a beautiful bright blonde tone. still keeping some of that yellow in the hair, but also having it a little more on the whiter side is so pretty on you.
