Video summary
The video examines the dramatic turnaround of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, transitioning from what the creator terms the "century of humiliation" to the "century of winning." For much of the first half of the year, fans were plagued by uncertainty and disappointment due to mixed reviews for recent movies and books, rumors that *Five Laps at Freddy's* might be cancelled, and a buggy release of *Secret of the Mimic VR*. During this period, Scott Cawthon was notably absent from public communication, leaving the community in silence. This lack of updates created intense anxiety regarding the franchise's future, as fans feared the projects lacked quality control and that development had stalled entirely.
The turning point arrived with the official launch of a new, managed Twitter account for Scott Games ahead of the tenth anniversary, which initially faced skepticism given the previous history of silence. However, this new platform has revitalized the community by providing consistent daily updates, featuring high-quality artwork from artists like Snartles and Dregular Sauce, and offering equal coverage across all media types including games, books, and merchandise. The account successfully restored excitement by announcing major sequels to beloved titles like *FNAF World* and *Security Breach*, as well as the launch of a real-life Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. This renewed activity has not only brought the community back together but also highlighted a professional team structure that Scott Cawthon admits was necessary as the franchise grew beyond its indie roots to become a multi-billion dollar enterprise.
Despite the overwhelmingly positive progress, the presentation acknowledges several minor criticisms regarding the new account's management. Fans have expressed disappointment over underwhelming merchandise posts, rigid posting schedules that limit flexibility for breaking news, and captions that sometimes lack detail or fail to properly credit artists. There is also a desire for more engagement with fan art and the expansion of official presence onto platforms like Facebook to combat misinformation. Nevertheless, these issues are viewed as small nitpicks compared to the massive benefit of having an active, reliable source of information. The future outlook remains incredibly bright, driven by high morale, strong creative partnerships with external writers and artists, and a confident strategy that promises an exciting era for the franchise moving forward.

Everyone give it up for Scott Cawan
because FNAF Scott Games has been
posting nearly every single day for the
past month. It's a little bit over a
month now. It's about month and a half
ever since the 12th anniversary. So, I
put together a little presentation.
What's going good? What's going bad? And
most importantly, how Scott was somehow
able to turn the FNAF century of
humiliation into the century of winning.
Because pretty much for every single
day, for the first half of this year,
this century of humiliation image was
haunting the internet. Every single post
online for FNAF, you got this image. And
honestly, for some pretty valid reasons,
first of all, that kind of initiated the
whole thing was FNAF 2. Received not so
great reviews, not only from critics,
but also from fans as well, despite
being a box office success, just like
the first film. critically panned and
despite the first film which some fans
really liked, there was a lot of FNAF
fans that did not like this second film.
It also doesn't help that the same week
we got this movie which was very mixed
in the fan base, we also got, shout out
DJ in the chat, a very interesting book
released, the Ultimate Guide version
2.0, which contained chapter 13, Chica
Secret Party, which 9 months later, fans
are still trying to figure out what the
heck this is, DJ. Is it a teaser? Is it
a troll? Was it a mistake? What's going
on? We do not know. An alleged lost
secret games FNAF game from 2016 that
was only up on the website for 3 days.
There's no way we could have missed
that. So, what's going on with this?
There's screenshots like it's an actual
game. Shout out to DJ,
co-author of The Ultimate Guide version
2.0. Was not aware he was going to be in
chat. This is a little bit awkward now
that now that we're talking about his
book. But speaking of books, something I
can't blame on DJ, at least I hope I
can't, is the second FNAF movie novel,
which just like the film, received very
mixed weird reactions, especially in
regards to some of the content focused
on our dear beloved character, Jeremiah.
So, the movies aren't safe, the books
aren't safe, and as it turns out, maybe
even the games aren't safe. Earlier this
year, we got the jump scare that Five
Laps at Freddy's may not even be in
development anymore. Might have been
quietly cancelled behind the scenes.
Some sources say it's still going on.
Still to this day, we we haven't heard
anything from Click Team or Scott. If
it's canceled, if it's still in
development, we have no idea. And
speaking of Click Team games in
development, we also found out at the
same time as the fivelapse info,
multiple seemingly canceled, scrapped,
leaked FNAF games from Click Team. So,
all of this, including the abysmal
release of Secret of the Mimic VR after
waiting a year for the VR mode to
finally be released, it was super buggy.
So all of this just just kept growing
and growing and the wait for the FNAF
community was becoming so intense. The
first half of this year was not looking
too good for FNAF fans, especially
because our one savior, our saving
grace, Scott Cawan, was nowhere to be
found. [laughter]
It was virtually radio silence from the
beloved man coffin, from the big
general. In desperate times like this
where we're getting all these projects
that seemingly lacked a whole lot of
quality control, the one person we got
to look up to to say, "Hey, what's going
on? How are you going to fix all this?"
wasn't giving us anything. Now,
historically, there's there's been a
couple of ways that we can hear from
Scott. The first one, if you're a
longtime fan, was the Steam forums.
Honestly, a really underappreciated form
of communication from Scott. Here, I
pulled up the upcoming projects mega
thread, which was like 2018 to 2019, a
big thread on the Steam forums from
Scott that was detailing the progress
and all the info on upcoming projects.
FNF AR, FNAF VR, Into Madness, the
console ports, the movie, the AAA game,
Into Madness. You know, some of the
stuff wasn't released, but a lot of it
was. And so to go on the Steam forum and
get constant updates on progress to see
how development was going was super
incredible. It was probably some of the
most clear communication we had up until
that point. Now, as amazing as the Steam
Forums was, so the project's mega thread
came to an end at the end of 2019 after
pretty much all the projects had come
out and instead of, you know, updating
progress on a 2-year-old Steam page now
that Sew was making the posts, Scott
really wasn't able to release updates on
the new pages for the new games, which
is totally fine cuz we still have a
couple other ways that we can hear from
Scott. Second one is team stream chat,
but really we only heard from Scott when
we already kind of figured that there
was news. Typically Do was live reacting
to a PlayStation State of Play and Scott
Coffin pops in. He's like, "Hey guys,
what's going on?" And then we know now,
oh, there's going to be news on charity
streams. We usually know that there's
news. Scott shows up in the chat and
that's how we got the news. But it's not
really like a super mainstream
way to share news, especially because it
only happens when Doc goes live, in
which case we already figured there
would be news. But that's totally fine
cuz I think by now you've you've
anticipated one of the best ways that we
would get updates from FNAF. And that's
scottgames.com. Beloved, may it rest in
peace. Scottgames.com, an absolutely
phenomenal website. We all love memories
checking Scotts, seeing the brand new
teaser, theorizing with our friends.
though I think we all know what happened
after Scott's retirement from making the
video games. Scott Games was no more.
Which leaves us then with the fourth and
so far final communication, which was
the Reddit page, which honestly was the
best option out of these four. Let's be
honest, as cool as Scott Games was
really all we could get, a little image.
With Reddit, we get full-on posts from
Scott. He's replying to fans. He's he's
commenting on fan art. He's making goofy
little remarks. He's addressing all the
drama. The Reddit was great because it
it truly felt like we were connecting
with Scott because it was just straight
up him engaging with the community,
posting to the community, giving us
constant updates, which is why it was so
amazing in 2024 that we got the news
that an official FNAF Scott Games
Twitter account was being made. It was
being hyped up for the big 10th
anniversary of Five Nights at Freddy's.
They were posting every single day
leading up to August 8th. We got brand
new books, brand new games, a bunch of
behind the scenes for the FNAF 2 movie,
couple of demos for TJ and and five
laps. We also just straight up got an
interview from Scott talking about the
Twitter. So, this is what Scott had to
say about the Twitter in 2024.
>> As the franchise has grown bigger, what
challenges have you faced with running a
franchise of this size? Is there
anything you could think you [music]
could be doing better? I I I think
something I should have maybe been doing
better is I should have had a better a
better structure in place as far as
people to talk to the fan base. You
know, I've always kept that on myself
all during the years and and in the
early years, I think that worked great
because it was a a little indie game, a
little indie community, and then me, the
indie dev, just chatting with the
community and talking.
>> By the way, FNAF is now easily worth
over $2 billion. Before the first FNAF
movie came out, it was valued at $2
billion. That was like two years ago
now, almost three years ago. So very
clearly, this is not just a small little
indie series anymore.
>> But as the years go by and the franchise
gets bigger and bigger, I don't know. I
I feel like I've slowly slowly kind
[music] of lost touch with the fan base,
unfortunately. It's not that same it's
not that same relationship that it used
to be. I I really used to enjoy chatting
with everybody and just kind of uh I
don't know. And I guess that's I guess
that's expected because FNAF was is more
of a it is more of a big it's kind of a
just just kind of a bigger thing now and
it's bigger than one person and I can't
just pretend like I can hop online and
chat with everybody and solve
everybody's problems [music] anymore.
Used to I kind of could I could just go
in there and chat with everybody and
resolve little problems as if it was
like just a squabble on a forum. I can
always just step in and solve it, but
it's just not the same. And I think that
I should have realized that sooner and
I'm really only realizing that this year
that I really need to have a better
structure in place, you know, and the
fan base deserves that. The franchise
deserves that. The fan base deserves
that to have um more people in charge
and running a Twitter page and official
news feeds, you know, an official news
feed so that there's not so much
confusion about what's real and what's
not real and real news and fake news and
is this confirmed? Is this not
confirmed? You know, I could have
avoided years of that if I just kind of
had a better structure in place with um
people to listen to and like I said, a
news and someone else to just provide
better answers to the fan base.
>> So, you'll notice just pausing for a
second that Scott keeps talking about
other people. He's not saying like him
like I can get on there. Let's remind
ourselves here the Twitter page is not
run by Scott. I know I say like, "Oh,
Scott just tweeted or everyone else
says, "Oh, Scott Cawan just posted." It
is not him. I'm sure everything that
gets posted to that account is obviously
approved by him and I'm sure he knows
exactly what's going on with that
account, but the actual people behind
those typing those images, they're not
him. He has a team of people running the
account.
>> So, I'm trying to get all that in place,
and I I really think it I think it would
just better serve the fan base. I think
everybody would be a little happier if
it's not just me trying to jump in and
straighten things out when needed. So,
the FNAF Twitter account was going
pretty strong for the 10th anniversary,
and then as soon as the anniversary
passed, it just kind of slowed down. As
you can see, these five tweets were what
we got in the span of 2 years. There was
a Thanksgiving tweet, a Christmas tweet,
there was three teasers that pretty much
spoiled all the big chase sequences in
Secret of the Mimic 2 days before the
game came out. a quick little thank you
for the 11th anniversary and then some
teaser images for FNAF 2, but that's all
we got. And so now that we've also
completely gone silent with FNAF Scott
Games Twitter, we can add it to the
century of humiliation. That's why
leading up to this year's big 12th
anniversary, the common thought process
behind the community was that nothing
was going to happen. There's there's
going to be no info. There's going to be
no big announcements because nothing
ever happens. We are in the century of
humiliation. I saw it firsthand. I was
making tweets like, "Oh, the anniversary
is in a week. The anniversary is in a
month." Like, what do you guys want to
see? Every single comment, every single
curt retweet was, "Nothing ever happens.
Who cares? I don't want to be a FNAF
anymore." But little did they know,
Scott Coffin was cooking because on that
day, we got some pretty major
announcements. Two brand new FNAF games,
sequels to some beloved games. FNAF
World 2. Obviously, everyone loves FNAF
World now. It wasn't super liked on
launch, but now it's become a cult
classic. Everyone loves it. We've all
been asking for a better, bigger FNAF
World, and we're finally getting it.
Security Breach 2, a sequel to the
biggest FNAF game ever. That's another
absolutely insane announcement. A real
life Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. Again,
remember, everyone thought we were going
to get nothing for this anniversary. to
get two big sequel games. You get a real
life Freddy Fazbear's pizza that you can
actually eat at, watch real animatronics
perform on the stage, and then also this
horror experiences mixed in that you can
play with your friends. It's incredible.
And the best part is that Scott Games
was back, baby. They got a brand new
profile picture for the 12-year
anniversary. They hadn't updated the
profile picture for like 2 years since
the 10th anniversary. It was truly the
century of winning. We're at the bottom.
And now we're right back at the top,
baby. FNAF is back. And they've been
posting pretty much every single day
since then. We've done a whole bunch of
videos going over all the posts. So, I'm
not going to go through every single one
here. Instead, I asked you guys on
Twitter and YouTube your thoughts on the
account. What's it doing right? What's
it doing wrong? What do you like about
it? What do you don't like about it? And
so, I've put together little pros and
con lists because even though we are in
the century of winning, there are a few
cons. And especially one big problem
that people really don't like about this
account that we got to talk about. We
are not just back, we're front, we're
the side. The last two months have been
amazing. I mean, just look at the
century of winning. You're trying to
make out every single picture. And the
more you look, the more you see. There's
new book covers, there's new games, new
merchandise. Real life Pizzeria. FNAF
Rewriter. FNAF Scott Games is back. But
first, I want to start off with the pros
because I think in general, objectively
looking at it, there are really not any
big serious problems with the account.
The fact that it exists in the first
place is like the best piece of news
ever. So, I want to start off with the
pros cuz I want to make it very clear.
I'm in full support of this Twitter
account, I think it's doing a fantastic
job besides a few small little nitpicks
that I'll get into. But overall, the
pros are really, really good. The
community is active. They're talking
about the posts. What is posted today?
What's going to be posted tomorrow? What
do you think the schedule is like? Is
there any meaning behind what time they
post? And they don't post on Sundays.
What does that have to do with Scott
Coffin and how the people managing the
account are working? You know, even
silly stuff like that. People are
talking about the account. They're
talking about FNAF. News is guaranteed
almost every single day. Again, there is
something to look forward to. Whereas
before, we used to just get news out of
nowhere. But now we know 1:00 p.m.
Eastern time every single day besides
Sundays and maybe if they want to skip a
Wednesday or something, there's going to
be news. It can be on anything. There's
news guaranteed every single day.
There's something to look forward to
every single day. It's the reason why
you're getting out of bed every single
day is cuz what if there's FNAF news?
And there is going to be FNAF news cuz
it's guaranteed now. There's new
official artwork and acknowledgement of
characters in progress that typically
don't really get a whole lot of love.
Just a random tweet about Lawbit showing
Lobbit some love. Elanor got mentioned
in a a tweet about Circus Baby. There's
new artwork of like Freddy Fazbear. We
got that of Baby and that tweet as well.
The quality of the posts is looking so
much better as well. Especially because
of the actual content of what's being
posted, specifically the book covers,
those are absolutely heat. They're
absolutely fire. Snardless, please guys,
hearts in chat for Emma. She does such a
fantastic job. We're so lucky to have
her as an official FNAF artist. One of
the biggest compliments I've seen is
that it feels like FNAF in its prime, in
its heyday, where we would get excited
about brand new teasers, brand new info,
brand new posts from Scott. It feels
like the good old days again. Something
I really appreciate is that it's
treating the franchise equally. It's
highlighting every single type of media,
the books, the games, the collabs, the
movies, the merchandise, everything is
getting equal coverage. You know, every
now and then they'll focus on one thing
in particular, like the Tales books. We
were pretty heavily into that news for a
long time. Kind of right now we're
heavily into the merchandise news, but
still every single aspect about FNAF is
getting coverage. I think that's really
really awesome. And also the nice part
about having a Twitter page and now an
Instagram page is that the news reaches
such a larger audience than ever before.
It's trending whenever there's like big
substantial news like the collab teaser
or the bee teaser, even though we don't
really know what those are. It gets
people talking. It trends. It's being
reported by more like mainstream
accounts. We get community highlights.
That's right. Like it it really is
bringing the community together again in
a way that we haven't seen in FNAF for
many many years now. And I think that is
the best best part about the about the
Twitter. I want to clarify that the cons
we're going to talk about next really I
don't care. It's [laughter] like these
are nitpicks. These are personal
nitpicks. Quite a lot of them. First one
is that I really don't like how the
account looks. [laughter]
More specifically, the banner is so
lame. It just says Five Nights at
Freddy's Scott games. Come on, man. Hire
Snles to do a big art piece with all the
characters together. That would be super
cool. Or even just like the background
of the The Office or something. I saw
some people nitpick the name FNAF Scott
Games. I think it's fine. I guess you
could just do Five Nights at Freddy's or
Scott Games if you want. I think FNAF
Scott Games is fine. A big thing that
people are upset about is that some of
the posts can feel underwhelming,
especially the merchandise posts. Not
really much you can do about that. I'll
be honest here, folks. It's like they're
are going to tweet about everything.
Everything includes the merchandise. I
can understand it's underwhelming when
we get a big teaser like a collab teaser
or like the bee teaser and then the next
tweet is like, "Oh, check out these jump
scare boxes from Jazwares, but there's
nothing we can do about that." I would
much rather them promote and advertise
everything about FNAF than just go
silent again for a couple months. That
that would really suck. I am very happy
that they are tweeting about
merchandise. I'm very happy that they
are working with the merchandise
companies like Hex and YouTubes to get
teasers early to post on Scott games
before Hex and YouTube's then reveal the
full merchandise. These next two kind of
go together and that is the fact that
everything probably has like a
pre-approved road map like a schedule
they have to sk uh stick to which kind
of limits the account if something comes
up like let's say I don't know a new
book series gets leaked. They can't
really make an official announcement
about that because they've already
slotted in the time that they're going
to post about the Chica pillow pet or
slot in the time that they got to, you
know, ask FNAF fans what their thoughts
are on M Prague Springtrap. You know,
doesn't really leave a whole lot of
wiggle room if they should, you know,
have to address something, which is the
next bullet point. Hopefully, this
account is going to have to be able to
handle responding to the community. You
know, let's say the community is really,
really excited about the collab teaser.
Maybe at that point you should take
interest of what the fans are talking
about and maybe shift the schedule
around to focus more on that collab
teaser. Or maybe people really like the
B teaser, but you don't have it
scheduled for another like 3 weeks.
Maybe bump it up a little bit sooner.
Who knows? They do a really good job
tweeting out like historical FNAF
moments in terms of like DO beating
50/20 or like Mark beating 1020.
Something that they did for the 10th
anniversary that they haven't done so
far is like sharing artwork, fan art. I
think they could do that. Uh, replying
to more comments. That may be a bit of a
gray area because I'm sure all that
needs again approval from Scott, but you
did it for the 10th anniversary. You
could probably do it a little bit more
now. I also think they did a really good
job expanding to Instagram. I do think
at some point they should also make the
jump to Facebook at the very least.
YouTube and Tik Tok would be good as
well. Uh, but especially Facebook cuz
there is a lot of misinformation on that
platform period. And there's especially
a lot of misinformation on FNAF on
there. And then of course the biggest
con that a lot of people have with the
account are the big gaps between the
major posts, the collab and the B
teaser. The collab post is now a month
old. And while it is pretty heavily
speculated that it is Fortnite, there's
been no official acknowledgement of that
collab for a month now, which is leaving
fans a little bit antsy. The B teaser is
also leaving fans a little bit antsy,
mainly because we don't really know what
it is. Is it a game? Is it a book? We
don't know. It's just B. Just like uh
people feeling underwhelming for the
merchandise news. There's not really
anything we can do about this because we
can't just tweet news, brand new massive
projects, you know, like every single
day or every single week. There has to
be time between those big events cuz
they're still working on them. A lot of
people forget Scott Games was notorious
for not posting a whole lot. Uh and
honestly, that's what made Scottames
fun. scottgames.com was you would go on
one day and then suddenly there's a new
teaser and you're freaking out. You
don't know what it is. You go online,
you talk with everyone. That's that's
the fun part about these big teasers is
that they happen spontaneously. They
come out of nowhere. They surprise you.
B is for boredom. B is for bedroom. And
it's me and Vanessa. Like it could be
anything, bro. We We don't know. So,
those are kind of the big cons. Again, I
think the pros greatly outweigh the cons
in all seriousness. Again, there's a few
things that they could work on, like
maybe starting up a Facebook, you know,
sharing fan art, engaging a little bit
more with the community, getting a
proper banner, but overall, I think the
fact that this account is active, it's
getting people talking about FNAF.
That's the best part. That's the biggest
takeaway. There's a few small little
other nitpicks that I personally have,
some of which they've already addressed.
The first one, having a dedicated time
of the day to post. They did that and
I'm so thankful that they did because
for a while it was a post anywhere
between 1 and 4 PM Eastern time. And
that is such a big part of the day, man.
It was so annoying to make sure I was
home and ready in case there was a tweet
at an hour. Let's say I had to go to the
grocery store one day, right? And I'm
like, "Oh, well, let me wait until after
1:00 cuz what if they post at 1:00? They
don't post at 1:00. Let me wait till
2:00. They don't post at 2:00." It It
was annoying. So, I'm glad that they
finally settled on 1 p.m. I would like
for them to tag the other accounts and
artists. They did that with Snardless or
at least said Snlesles's name. There
were so many people under the Hex tweet
under my tweet that were adding Grock.
They were saying at Grock, "What is a
Hex?" There's a few artwork that they
tweeted that they don't say who the
artist was, but they did it for the art
from Snardles, which kind of bugs me.
The biggest complaint I have with them,
their captioning can be real dodgy
sometimes. I get for the for the cryptic
teasers. They don't want to give
anything away. Uh I think they did a
fantastic job with the Foxy post about
the pizzeria. It was like between shows,
stop by Pirates Cove and see a
performance by Foxy at the uh pizzeria.
That's great. Then they'll put out a
post with Into the Pit artwork that's
like, oh, let's see what this looks like
as a book cover. It's like, okay, is it
actually going to be a new book cover?
Are they actually going to be reprinted?
What's going on? There's one. I think it
might be one of their worst captions
ever. [laughter] when they did the
Security Breach Jazwares Endo series and
they just straight up said Security
Breach Gang by Jazwares that tells you
nothing about the product. Doesn't tell
you what the Endo series is, when
they're available, their prices,
anything of the sorts. It just tells you
it's the Security Bridge guys. I know.
I'm watching the video. What are the
figures? There's other nitpicks like
they said TS for the silver eyes. You
should just type out fullon Silver Eyes.
There's going to be a lot of FNAF fans
that don't know what that alliteration
is. As someone who has done FNAF news on
Twitter for many moons now, many years
now, I am personally very picky when it
comes to captions. So, I don't know
where I got these examples. Someone must
have made them in in in my sleep or
something. But personally, let's say
hypothetically, if I was, you know,
trying to run the Twitter, I would
probably caption them something like
this. Again, don't know where these
examples came from. That's kind of
weird. But hypothetically,
I like these captions. tells you a lot
more about what the actual content of
the post is about instead of just saying
new FNAF YouTube's out now. You know, I
think the pros greatly outweigh anything
negative I have to say about this
account. Again, I think the fact that it
is active, it is getting people talking,
people are excited every single day,
even if they're a little bit upset, they
have to wait a little bit to find out
what Fortnite skin FNAF is going to
have, I think the fact that it is
working is giving people hope and
confidence for the future. And that is
the big takeaway for this presentation.
I think the future of FNAF is going to
be very, very bright. Truth be told,
especially because this Twitter account
is active outside of the anniversary
month. I think it is showing great
confidence in Scott in the Twitter team
that they have a lot to post about and
FNAF fans should be very excited for
what's to come. And I think you can see
this excitement and this confidence of
the future with who they're highlighting
recently. This is Snortles, who you'll
likely know by now, but this is a tweet
from 5 years ago of her saying, "I want
to do official Freddy art so bad." And
now look at this. This is some, only
some, of the artwork that she's done for
book covers, for Halloween Horror
Nights, for the movie. It is crazy. This
is Dregular Sauce, who you likely know
as well, who started off as a simple
cosplayer with a hope and a dream.
And now he's working with Steel Wolf.
He's worked with the Jim Henson's
company on the second FNAF film. And now
he's the creative lead for the real life
pizzeria. We're getting a with all due
respect proper writer, Hollywood writer
for FNAF 3. You know, there's a lot you
can say about the scripts that Gary
Doberman has offered with films, but I
think the fact that they looked to
outside source for the script says a lot
about the care that these FNAF projects
are getting going forward. Again, the
next FNAF games are sequels to some of
the most beloved games from some truly
beloved companies. So, I'd say morale is
up. I think FNAF is in a really good
place, and I think there is a lot of
hope and confidence going forward for
the future of FNAF, and I think the
Twitter account shows that with who
they're highlighting, what projects they
got coming up. Um, and I think we are in
for a very, very fun time. No pun
intended. So, that was my little
presentation on FNAF Scott Games. how
it's going, what's it getting right,
what's it getting wrong, and the future
of FNAF. I will say when I practiced
that presentation, it took maybe a third
of that time. [laughter]
