Russian propagandist Colonel Viktor Baranets stated that the generals are leading Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin by the nose. He announced this on the air of the propaganda radio station Komsomolskaya Pravda. A listener called in and asked Baranets why the Ukrainian city of Lyman, which Putin publicly declared captured, was under Ukrainian control. The propagandist answered honestly, "Lying in the Russian army is part of the system. You know, the commanders' lies in their reports sent up the chain are, unfortunately, becoming systemic.
