ROG is marking its 20th anniversary by releasing a comprehensive line of special edition hardware designed to celebrate two decades of innovation in gaming technology. Unlike typical birthday gifts involving liquids or sweets, this celebration focuses on tangible, high-performance equipment across every major product category, including mobile devices, all-in-one PCs, graphics cards, power supplies, cases, monitors, routers, and even accessories like chairs, backpacks, and board games. The presenter highlights that each item in the collection has been dressed up for the occasion, blending festive aesthetics with top-tier specifications to create a unique party atmosphere for enthusiasts worldwide.
Among the standout products reviewed is the PG27AQWPG Edition 20 OLED monitor, which features impressive display capabilities such as a 540-hertz refresh rate at 2K resolution and an even faster 720-hertz option at 1080p. This model utilizes tandem OLED technology to achieve superior image quality while boasting a lifespan that is claimed to be 60% longer than previous generations, addressing common concerns about OLED durability. The monitor also includes a convenient proximity sensor that automatically dims the screen when the user steps away, eliminating the need for manual adjustments required by older models and enhancing the overall user experience.
The celebration extends to networking with the ROG Rapture Edition 20 router, which features a distinctive black and gold design instead of the usual purple-red theme. Equipped with Wi-Fi 7 technology, numerous antennas for extended range, and multiple ports for wired connections, this router delivers rock-solid internet performance capable of handling heavy usage in crowded households. Additionally, the NUC 16 Edition 20 is highlighted as a compact powerhouse running on an Intel Ultra 9 processor paired with an RTX 5090 graphics card, offering performance that surpasses 95% of desktop systems while remaining quiet and efficient enough for both professional work and high-fidelity gaming.
Ultimately, the ROG 20th-anniversary collection represents a fusion of celebratory design and cutting-edge engineering, ensuring that fans receive not just commemorative items but fully functional premium gear. From the silky smooth gameplay enabled by the latest hardware to the reliable connectivity provided by the new router, each product is engineered to deliver exceptional value and performance. This extensive lineup demonstrates ROG's commitment to pushing technological boundaries while honoring its legacy, making it a fitting tribute to two decades of excellence in the gaming industry.

When I had a birthday I got drunk and I
gave away free rum to Hardware Sugar
viewers. When ROG had a birthday though
they thought what the computer fans
really want, not something liquid,
something solid, real hardware. Not
tipsy but dizzy.
I have less than 30 seconds to tell you
about our sponsor. We've bought hundreds
of Windows keys from them and that we
use them all the time in the shop. We
have local payment options so it's super
easy for us here in the Philippines to
believe. I could say that they're super
easy to use. But it's
If you buy directly from Microsoft your
Windows activation key is 15,000 pesos.
For our sponsor nothing less than 2,000.
Use our discount code HS25. [music]
That's it.
That's the ad.
So ROG is celebrating its 20th year
anniversary with special editions of all
of its latest hardware dressed up for a
party.
>> [snorts]
[music]
>> Actually the full range of special
edition products just ask Dino Cornell.
[music]
Every product category has special
edition. Mobile, AIO, GPU, PSU, case,
monitor, router, [music] ROG Ally with
accompanying display glasses, keyboard
complete with special keycaps, mouse,
chair, suitcase, backpack, NUC,
pre-built desktop, mini action figure pa
and board game. [music] We personally
got to try the monitor, the router and
the NUC and they are beautiful both
inside and out. First the monitor. The
PG27AQWPG [music]
Edition 20 OLED of course 2K at an
insane 540 hertz and then an even more
insane 720 hertz at 1080p. We're
starting to see more of this tandem
technology [music] being deployed,
variable refresh rates depending on the
resolution. [music] Either speed though,
540 or 720 is incredibly fast. As with
ASUS OLEDs the image quality [music] is
of course superb. ROG claims that this
latest W-OLED has a 60% longer lifespan
[music]
versus older generations. I've been
rocking an ASUS OLED for around 3 years
already. Well, I have no problem at all
with the monitor.
That older panel has no issues at all.
So, if this new OLED lasts even longer,
that is genuinely impressive. Adding to
the panel care is a proximity sensor
which turns the screen black when
[music] the person steps away. Right
now, I have to do this manually with my
existing ROG OLED. So, to have it
automatic in this latest generation is
very convenient. Next up the router, the
ROG Rapture Edition 20. Instead of the
usual [music] purple-red ROG theme, the
router sports Edition 20
black and gold trim. As with all of the
products in the lineup, the specs are
the best of the best focused on speed.
So, that's Wi-Fi 7 with lots of antennas
for range, lots of ports for wired
connections, and various channels over
different areas of the spectrum for the
Wi-Fi. All of that is tech jargon. What
is real world though is that I've used
the Rapture at my own house for the past
couple [music] of years and I can
personally vouch for its speed and
reliability. Even with a lot more people
using the Wi-Fi currently, cuz they have
a lot of my own people using the
internet. Rock-solid internet with this
router. So, you know for sure you have
no problem
with the internet. It's the ISP and
[music] it's the networking hardware.
And the last Edition 20 we got to try
and the one item that I really want to
keep is the NUC 16 Edition [music] 20.
Grab a specs. Intel Ultra 9 298HX with a
5090. Compact, quiet, performance better
than 95% of the desktops out there
[music] including my own. Yes, you can
work on this thing, but of course it's
the silky smooth performance [music] in
games. High resolution, all graphic
features set to insane, set to max.
[music] Those are the things that you'll
remember.
