Richarlison To Make Toffees Return?! | Everton News Daily
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
Everton concluded their preseason campaign with a 1-1 draw against Lille at Hill Dickinson Stadium, a result that many felt was unlucky given the Toffees' dominance for most of the match. The team displayed a youthful and energetic spirit, particularly in the midfield and attack, having taken an early lead through a penalty converted by Yerry Mina after Gini Wijnaldum fouled the Lille keeper. Despite numerous missed chances from players like Ellis Simms and Stanley Arum, who were denied by saves or poor decision-making, the visitors eventually equalized in stoppage time. The match also highlighted a new rule regarding goalkeeper possession, which saw Jordan Pickford penalized for holding the ball too long; while this early punishment was seen as a potential target for referees this season, it ultimately served as a decent finish to the pre-season friendly.
Looking ahead to the upcoming campaign, there is significant optimism surrounding the emergence of young talents such as Tyler Dibling, Teddy George, Harrison Armstrong, Hayden Hackney, and Amadou Onana. However, the transfer window remains a complex puzzle for the club, with Everton currently linked to several high-profile moves that face logistical and financial hurdles. The most notable rumor involves former striker Richarlison returning to Goodison Park, though sources suggest his current club has rejected bids, leaving uncertainty over whether a deal can be struck before the deadline closes. Additionally, while there is interest in signing right-back Liam Delap from Chelsea, the asking price of 50 million pounds and Newcastle's involvement make an immediate transfer unlikely, suggesting any move might only happen closer to the window's expiration or via a loan arrangement.
The squad's structure presents further challenges regarding winger positions, as the club currently has four wingers but is linked with additional targets like Abdoulaye Doucouré and Munir from Crystal Palace. Integrating another wide player would require either selling an existing winger or utilizing players like Munir in a wing-back role, adding another layer of negotiation to the transfer saga. Financial prudence also plays a major role, as the club operates within a strict budget and may prefer younger players on free transfers or cheaper deals over expensive 30-year-olds who would only be available for two or three years. Consequently, while there is plenty of speculation regarding potential signings like Jack Grealish and Munir, most experts believe significant movement will not occur until after the Bournemouth game, when the true market value and availability of players become clearer.
Beyond transfer rumors, the video concludes with important updates on fixture changes for October and November, which have shifted several match dates and kick-off times. Everton's trip to Hull City has been rescheduled to take place on Sunday, October 11th at 2:00 p.m., while the home clash against Chelsea remains set for Saturday, October 17th but will now start at 12:30 p.m. Furthermore, the away game against Newcastle United has been moved to a Monday night fixture on November 2nd at 8:00 p.m., continuing the club's unfortunate trend of hosting midweek or evening games against the Magpies. Despite these scheduling adjustments and the ongoing transfer market uncertainty, fans are encouraged to maintain patience as the club navigates the final days of the window, aiming to secure necessary reinforcements without breaking the bank before the season officially begins.

Welcome to Toffee TV. It is the Everton
news daily. Everton played their final
preseason game on Saturday drawing 1-1
with Lille at Hill Dickinson Stadium. It
was really unlucky to be honest because
Everton deserved to win the game.
Uh dominated for
most of the game apart from sort of the
end where lots of subs were made.
Um
Great to see a youthful energetic side
in midfield and going forward.
Uh and
obviously Everton got the lead when they
Everton won a penalty. Gini Wijnaldum
won a penalty and Yerry Mina converted
it. Uh but there's more so many more
chances. Ellis Simms
uh made the keeper make a fantastic
save. Uh Stanley Arum So should have
buried one in the second half one-on-one
with the goalkeeper. Should have just
stroked it home and decided to go for
some weird curling effort that ended up
in the South Stand.
Um
And Asmir put a fantastic ball across
the box which was begging for someone to
to tap in. Um
And it wasn't until all those changes
were made and and
90 2 minutes and
plus 30 seconds that Lille got a goal.
Um which really can't really understand
why he played the extra time after
already getting the 2 minutes cuz
nothing had happened. But
uh it was a good one out. It also saw
one of the new rules
um
shown off as well with Jordan Pickford
holding onto the ball for too long and
it led to Lille winning a corner from
that.
Uh
that's a new rule put in this year. It
will be very interesting to see whether
it'll be one of those August rules
that uh you know that gets gets used
heavily and then suddenly starts fading
away. But it is one of those rules and
of course Everton Everton first. Uh we
saw the first. But you know what? Not
the worst thing in the world for Jordan
Pickford to be punished for that quite
early on because I think he'll be a
target this season
for referees because there's been a lot
of
a lot of stuff over the last few seasons
about Jordan Pickford time wasting.
Um
he doesn't do it any more than any other
goalkeeper, but once again, you know, he
is picked out.
So, it's not a bad thing that
on the you know, the his first game of
preseason and our last last game of
preseason
that it was picked up on. So, it's one
that uh
it's one that'll be very interesting
this season. Although, the referee
didn't really do a countdown or
anything. He just blew the whistles and
whistle and said he'd been time wasting.
So, um they are supposed to do a
countdown to let the goalkeepers know,
but but he didn't do that. So,
a decent draw to finish out the
preseason. I think there's a lot of
optimism going into the season now with
a lot of those younger players. I think
um
the emergence of Tyler Dibling in the
last couple of weeks
looking like the player that we bought.
Teddy George, Harrison Armstrong in
there as well. Uh Hayden Hackney.
Amadou Onana as well, even though he
played at right back. I think there's
there is a lot of optimism and if
Everton can
finish off the window
um getting
you know, a couple of deals over the
line. Certainly, you know, the right
back. We'll certainly a right back, not
another right back. We're getting a
right back would uh would would would
really just
help us out to be honest. And Everton
have been linked today with
a move for Richarlison
the former Everton
striker.
This has come from a
good space source
um
saying that they space have rejected the
bid for him.
Um
I think it's no secret and I think even
the Xavi alluded to this a couple of
weeks about Richarlison
knowing where he wants to go.
And I think where he wants to go is
Everton. Now, whether Everton have got
any real serious interest in him,
not sure. Maybe
maybe this could be one
that if it's a decent deal or a loan,
we'll have to wait and see
on that. Um
It's a It's a It is a real difficult one
cuz Everton have got four wingers.
Everton Would Everton have to then sell
a striker?
Well, Everton again linked with Liam
Delap again heavily as well. Um
New Chelsea wants 50 million for the
player.
Newcastle also being linked to them. I
just can't see
how that's going to happen. Como have
gone were in for the player.
Um
but it looks like
it looks like they're going to get Moise
Kean now
off the Everton former Everton striker.
So, he obviously wants to stay in the
Premier League. David Moyes likes Liam
Delap. But again, that might be
something closer to the deadline again.
Something that maybe if no one comes in
for him,
Chelsea will look to to get a a loan for
him. And it does suggest that Everton
won't
won't go for any of these players till
closer to the window closing.
After we've played our first two games,
and we sort of know where we are. Um I
still think there's going to be there
could be
a a bit of movement. Um
we'll have to wait and see. But
Richarlison being linked and obviously
we saw Jack Grealish yesterday as well
playing for Manchester City uh the
second half of the Community Shield.
This is first game time since getting
injured for Everton in December.
Um
But that's sort of another one where
it's Man City apparently want to sell.
Everton don't want to buy.
And again, I think it'll come down to
how close we get to that window and if
anyone blinks first. I just can't see
anyone coming in for Jack and he's not
in the Premier League. And we'll see
what happens, but I don't think that's
going to happen
within the next 10 days or so. I don't
think anything's going to happen till
after the Bournemouth game, and then it
might suddenly start hotting up [snorts]
again.
But Everton But as Everton fans, we we
all just want to bite back, don't we?
Everton have been linked with Abdoulaye
Doucouré,
a winger as well, 20 20 year-old
Senegalese winger
today. But again, it's that question.
Everton have got four wingers.
How do we How do we fit another one in?
How does that all play out?
We'll have to We'll have to wait and
see.
One player that we have been linked with
is Munir from Palace. Looked like he was
saying his farewells after their
friendly on Saturday. Now, he has been
linked with a move to Spurs as well, and
if it it seems that
talk of him moving to Everton might
might be cooled a little bit as Everton
see him more as a wing-back.
I think he's a fantastic
player.
But
Everton are
you know, working within a budget.
He is 30.
And it might be looked at that
if Everton are going to go for someone
of that age,
they might be looking to bring someone
in on a free or someone
for
half that amount
as the player would probably only be
around for two to three years, so
maybe that one has come and gone now.
There are fixture changes for October
and November. Everton's trip to Hull
City will now take place on Sunday, the
11th of October. That is a 2:00 p.m.
kickoff.
Everton's home game against Chelsea
remains on Saturday, the 17th of
October, but the kickoff is now 12:30
and Everton's trip to Newcastle on the
2nd of November
is now a Monday night 8:00 p.m. game. We
always seem to get Newcastle
midweek or or or on an evening.
Um
I don't know what it is, but every year
just seems to be to be the same.
Um
Although we did beat them last year on a
Saturday. So, um
there you go. Changes already. We
thankfully have not got a Monday night
game so far
at Hill Dickinson and all our games so
far are on a Saturday and a Sunday. Long
may that continue. There you go. That's
