Video summary
The discussion begins with an analysis of Wesneski's strong performance against the team, highlighting his aggressive approach within the designated zone and his consistent pitching mentality. The speaker notes that Wesneski did not waver in his execution, making it particularly difficult for the opposing batters to get into a rhythm or square up effectively. This dominance was attributed to his ability to control the at-bat from the start, which ultimately allowed him to hold the lineup down for the majority of the game.
The conversation then shifts to George Long Park, who has demonstrated elite fielding skills during his first few weeks in the league despite currently experiencing a slump. The team expresses unwavering confidence in Long Park's abilities and trusts that he will return to his best form once he gets back into the rhythm of play. It is emphasized that while slumps are natural, the collective belief in Long Park's talent ensures that they expect him to stick with it and perform at the high level for which he is known when he finds his footing again.
Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend series against the Red Sox, the team acknowledges the significance of facing a division rival who is currently trailing them in the standings. The speaker stresses that every game in an intra-division matchup, especially at this critical time of the season, carries immense weight and could have wild card home field implications. Consequently, the strategy for the series is to focus on winning one game at a time, recognizing that each contest is more important than the last as they strive to maintain their lead over the Red Sox while chasing the Rays.

Ben, how was Wachaeski able to hold you
guys down for the most part tonight?
>> Yeah, I feel like he was
aggressive in the zone with all his
pitches. Um
you know, wasn't really wavering in that
mentality and
it's just tough for us to square it up.
>> Ben, you've seen Long Park make some
tremendous plays in his first couple
weeks up here. He's always obviously has
elite fielding skills. He's in a pretty
good slump right now.
Are you surprised by this? How do you
think he's handling it when
he's back in the room with you guys?
>> I mean, we all have the utmost
confidence in George out there. I mean,
just um we all know the ability that he
has out there and
um
we we trust him to to to stick with it
and
we know what he's capable of and it's
it's fun to watch when he's in rhythm
out there.
>> What are your thoughts on this
weekend series with the Red Sox? They're
right on your tail. You guys are trying
to
chase the Rays but hold off the Red Sox.
Could you have wild card home field
implications? What are your thoughts on
the series?
>> Yeah, it's a big series. I mean, any um
any in-division series, especially at
this time of year, is a big one.
Um and of course these guys are right
behind us in the standings, so
we just got to take it one game at a
time
understanding that each one's
you know, more important than the than
the one before it.
