Video summary
The video introduces a streamlined approach to creating formative assessments within SISO by combining the efficiency of automatic grading with multimodal tools, allowing educators to save time while focusing more on meaningful interactions with their students. Teachers can easily initiate this process from their home page by selecting an option to create an activity that includes automatic assessment grading, where they first name the assignment and choose between a blank creative canvas or starting directly with an existing template. Once inside the editor, instructors access various tools via a side menu to add specific question types, demonstrating how quickly these digital resources can be integrated into daily lesson plans without requiring extensive manual setup.
A key feature highlighted is the integration of SISO's AI assistant, which helps generate editable questions based on selected grade levels, educational standards, and thematic topics. After the AI produces a set of suggestions, teachers can review and refine each item by tapping to edit details such as question type, answer format, or feedback mechanisms before adding them to their canvas. The platform also offers distinct modes for student interaction; practice mode provides real-time cues and immediate feedback while students work independently, whereas evaluation mode withholds instant results until a teacher approves the submission, making it suitable for exit tickets or unit-level reviews where families can later view performance data alongside educators.
Upon completing the design of an assessment, teachers simply save their activity to deploy it in the classroom, after which SISO automatically generates easy-to-understand data reports once students finish their tasks. These automated insights quickly identify which learners have grasped the content and which may require additional support, enabling instructors to address gaps efficiently without waiting for manual grading. By leveraging these formative assessment tools, educators gain immediate visibility into student thinking processes while reducing administrative burdens associated with traditional evaluation methods.
The video concludes by encouraging teachers to take action immediately through their home page interface to begin creating activities that reveal deeper insights into how students think and learn. Ultimately, the presentation positions SISO as a powerful resource for modern classrooms where technology supports both rapid content creation and personalized instruction. By adopting these features, educators can foster an environment of continuous learning feedback while maintaining control over when and how student progress is shared with families and administrators.
