Reacher Season 4 Episode 7 Recap | MEGA EXPLOSIVE ENDING!!! | Prime Video

Hey, what's going on everyone? It is B Avery and Lamont and we are back getting ready to head into this season finale pretty soon. This is Reacher season 4 episode 7 titled vote for Samson and my goodness by the time you know with the way that this episode ended he he has my vote. Reacher and Tamara finally get the answers they've been waiting for while Jacob discovers that their woes have just begun with plum sources provide crucial information. Guys, of course this is going to be full spoilers. So if you haven't seen the episode go back and watch it but that is your warning. Lamont we got another great episode man and they've been ending each and every episode dangling on a cliffhanger. I think at episode at the end of episode 5 Jacob had a knife to the throat. Episode 6 Reacher and Tamara are in the back of the van about to get their heads blown off and then of course you know we got the end of this episode and how that was explosive. What did you think sir? What did you think? What did you think? >> I really like this episode. A lot of people that I thought might turn out to be villains turned out to be good which made my heart sing. I was very thrilled to see some of these people that I thought I couldn't trust winded to be boy scouts and things of that nature. So I was very thrilled. I enjoyed it. I liked the twist because this season had me twisted on who I thought I could trust and they flipped it back on my head. So I always like compelling TV that goes against the grain of my conspiracies. >> Yes. Yes. We got some answers at least one character is maybe good. We found out who that that dark gentleman was from Djibouti but we're we're going to get into that but starting off the episode Lamont Tamara and Reacher Reacher and Tamara, were saved by a thread, by a piece of yarn, man, because they were goners. It was convenient, but you know, I'm not tripping. It was still entertaining. What did you think? Oh, let me ask you this. Who Did you have any It It was the head of security for a congressman John Sampson that came through. Um did you have any idea that it would have been him that came through on the white horse to save the day? >> Zero. None. Never. Nada. Zilch. Whatever word means zero in every country's language, that's what I'm saying. I had no idea. Y'all got me good on that one. >> Yeah. Yeah, what do you think about his character now? >> I like him. I like Sampson. I'm sorry. I'm still iffy on the wife. >> Okay. >> I know, but but I I like those two now. I think that they are the show did them justice by letting them be true Americans. >> Yes. Yes. And that's interesting. I was not expecting you to say that you still have questions on the wife because when when when you started off giving me your impression of the show of this episode, I was thinking that that may have been the one of the characters that you was like, "Hey, man, I may have been wrong." But apparently not. And that's perfectly fine. We are going to get to her. But the first thing I also want to talk about is how I got a chuckle at the very beginning. Reacher can be very rude sometimes because how you going to try and drop the head of security like, "Unlock me right now." being with with all that bass in your voice. He just saved your life. You need to sit there and be patient, sir. I like you, Reacher, but hey, I would have I head of security I would have Hey, man, take some of that bass out your voice. You know what I'm saying? You would be dead right now if it wasn't for me. And so, I was I was kind of like, "Man, hold up, Reacher." But I like that he got his revenge on the chemist Aquish. He's on the phone talking about, "Where are you? Why are you not answering the phone right now? I need confirmation." Oh, boom boom boom boom boom boom. And then he gets flipped over by by the car. I I love that. Uh pay yeah, that that that was a nice little revenge scene right there. He turned into a weasel, though. Reacher said, "Hey, man, we got to finish our conversation." Yank. He did that get over here like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat out of the car and had him yoked up. What what what was y'all thoughts there? And that entire exposition dump about how Jacob's sister deleted the file and downloaded it. Uh the pesticides, Alquist, the chemical warfare pooture, how Layla and Amisha all tied up into this, the whole shebang. This was a giant This whole scene where he was breaking fingers was at least 10 minutes. Uh I want to hear your thoughts, sir. Break break it down. >> A few things, audience. B, we figured out that it was a chemical weapon like two episodes ago. We figured that [ __ ] out. But we thought that the dude from Djibouti was a king. And now we learn that he's not a king, he's the booty. In essence. And and we we knew it was some kind of chemical weapon of mass destruction. We just didn't know how it was associated with the picture. And I like the way they tied it in to it being associated with the picture that we're using today's technology to go back and fix the old technology. >> Yes. >> But you also got to explain how somebody would be a visionary to understand that that was coming. >> Yes. >> And they tried They kind of tried to blow it off a little bit, but still that [ __ ] wouldn't I had known back then that we would have technology to fix it now and bank on it. Like one of the characters said, it was a million and one situations that had to happen for this to work out. >> Correct. >> And so I I didn't mind that exposition dump because they kept giving you flashbacks too during the exposition dump. And I was very very happy that Reacher rammed his ass like a ram in heat with that that van and that car. He flipped his ass so hard he went from a chemist to a biologist. I was glad he [laughter] done that. And I want I wanted Reacher to break a couple of more fingers for what you just tried to put that man through. But in the end, Reacher went Zeus to Hulk Hogan on the neck and spun that head apart, dropped him right there on the ground. That's what he deserved. And I wish he would let Tamara get a lick in, too. But at end of the day, I enjoyed that exposition dump. >> Yeah, yeah, they should have seawalked on his face and chest. That would have been nice. Um if I wanted to nitpick, I thought it was maybe unless he just had the best roll cage in his car and all the seat belts, you know, I didn't think he would be conscious from being hit like that on the driver side for one and then flipping over. But hey, I don't really care that much. It's something I noticed. It was entertaining. But yeah, man, he was squeezing like a weasel in the like you said at the end, Jacob was saying like yeah, a million and one things had to fall into place for this to play out the way it was. But I got to give it to Tamara not Tamara but Layla and Amisha Amisha and Layla. They had a plan, man, that they've been scheming for some decades now, you know, at least 10 or two 10 decades. That's 100 years. Um a few you you you know what I'm trying to say. But the character Aquavits yeah, he he definitely got what he deserved. You know, and right before we hit record on this you were saying that these rich and powerful people always are trying to come up with an excuse, some type of rationale to justify their decisions. Life is valuable. I don't care if it's one person, one soul, one heart. You don't need to be putting sacrificing people necessarily for the greater good unless they sacrifice themselves. But that's not the case here at all. But Um, I I I loved it. I I loved how in the last episode Alquist was talking all that S H I T and all high and mighty. And when you know, he's in a vulnerable position right now cuz Reacher yeah, he didn't trust him. Like I'm not going to I'm not going to say anything. It's like wait a minute. I just twisted a few of your fingers and you're singing you know, like a woman in the choir church. And so these are some cold blooded killers over here. Man, they going to look at you the wrong way and you're going to be spilling out of guts. So yeah, snapped his neck. And uh I like the Tam Tam was like, yeah, I'm cool with it. The head of security wasn't but you know, what what he going to do? But I mean the the guy's an A hole. So, you know, I I I'm glad that we got some some justice there. Also, um he was I've been kind of 50/50 with this character. Uh Daughtry and Shaun Daughtry, Tam's partner. Did you think that he was going to kill Jacob in the in the alley? Did you think or did you think he was going to Yeah, yeah, that that was a reach. That was a reach. >> Yeah. >> I'm I'm I'm glad What I was afraid of is I mean if I am facing death and I feel that it is inevitable, I'm going to be kicking, I'm going to be screaming, you know, excuse me excuse me excuse me. I'm so sorry guys. I couldn't help it. Um the characters like Tamara and Reacher, they was ready to die at the end of episode 6. They was like they're going to open these doors and they're going to shoot us in the head but we're going to go out like some Gs and look them dead in the eye. And Jacob was about to do the same thing. So when he had his hands behind his back cuffed and Daughtry was uncuffing him, I was like Daughtry, you need to create some space between y'all because if if it was me, as soon as that one cuff is coming undone, I'm just yelling and swinging my arms and kicking and doing and trying to get the F out of there. But you know, he didn't do that. So I thought that was a a slight oversight on um Daughtry's behalf. But I like the exposition done between them as well. Um I did get a chuckle uh at the end where he was like, "Hey, can you do me a favor?" And he was like, "I'm doing you one right now." Um he was like, "What How can I repay you?" He was like, "You can repay me by getting the [ __ ] out of here." Uh we're not friends. We're not having a moment. Get out Get out here. [laughter] I laugh my ass off right there to the hole. That That was That was funny. Um what is y'all's thoughts between their exchange together in the middle of the alley? >> Oh man, that that was comedy, man, cuz my man was straight kind of New York, big city, um almost drug cartel voice situation with him. He was like, "Man, we're not screw buddies. We're not school buddies. If it wasn't for Tamara and just her love and the way she's treated a son-of-a-gun like me, you'd probably be in jail right now. Get the [ __ ] out of here." But you know what? That also showed in this guy he has some he has some good character. He might seem like he's rough around the edges, but the fact that he let Jacob go, the fact that he's still willing to acknowledge Tamara and her goodness, even though he's a piece of you know what, says a lot about who he is. And I think that in the last episode, somehow, someway, he will show up to help them. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Y'all let us know what y'all think. It's It's Dottery, he's not one um Not now. I don't I don't think he was ever skeptical of Dottery. Uh he just might have been a little annoying, you know, but he still funny though um to me. Now, Lamont, we all go through things in life. Ups and downs. Life is not fair. Some people are born in, you know, piles of crap. Some people are born with spoons uh silver spoons in their mouth. You can't help it. And I I don't mean to judge anybody, you know, um we all go through things. Sometimes um you know, people like alcohol, people like drugs. You know, most people, not all people, but a lot of people have experimented with recreational drugs maybe at least once in their life. You know, not everybody. Some people is clean as a whistle and that's perfectly fine. But my goodness gracious, man. Um I I I felt kind of sad for this victim here with no name that just was reaching for a high. I mean, you going to trust some complete strangers to give you an experimental drug not knowing what it does and you just down for anything. Like, "Hey, I'm down. I just want to experience a new high. I'm I'm not going to No no sex stuff though. No sex stuff." And this is in the middle of a warehouse. This ain't I mean, goodness gracious. This ain't at no hospital, no facility. >> Oh, man. >> They going to sit you in a chair with a tarp down. You know, I don't I don't know if the henchmen I can't remember if they had guns on them or not. You know, I'm just like, "Bro, it is life that bad?" You know, to where you didn't right before like, "What What does it do?" Like "Bro." And then they gave him the drug. Then they sprayed him with a drug. Lamont, these people are sick, bro. These are monsters. How can you just do this to an innocent person that ain't did nothing to you? And then they already slit the daddy that they was trying to take the teddy bear to his daughter or wife or whatever outside the car when they had jumped in the lake. And then Layla is looking at this poor soul dying with blood oozing from all orifices of the face, shaking, having seizures on the ground. I mean, she's enjoying this, bro. She's like That's just disgusting, man. There is evil in the world. I do like the fact that the henchman Actually, I'll just stop there. I'll let you chime in. Tag, you're in, coach. What What are your thoughts on this whole scene right here, man, with the bloody face drug person. >> Man, when that girl came in talking about some I'll do anything just not sex stuff, I'm thinking myself, "Lady, sex stuff it should be what you want to do cuz that's what's going to keep your ass alive. You You ain't even going to get a chance to experience Pookie from New Jack City. What they about to do to you? You talking about no sex stuff, [ __ ] Come on, man." Like, the sex stuff is what's going to keep you alive, but anyway, >> [laughter] >> like B. Avery said, you never know what somebody's going through and he said life is unfair and I hate to get on my diatribe about that, folks, because >> You're good. You're good. Go ahead. Go ahead. >> Every time I hear some When I When I was a young man learning about the life in the world and all that and I would always hear these highfalutin adults say life is not fair. It took me some time to get through life and become older to understand how they didn't give you the full picture. Because what have we learned in MAGA America? Folks who only love slogans, stuff like make America great again, lock her up, they're not intellectuals and they don't want to think about how things go beyond context. And so, what I have learned from people that would always say life is not fair, you forgot one ingredient. Life is not fair because 80% of the time human beings make that [ __ ] unfair. That's why life is not unfair 80% of the time. The other 20% nurture nature. But, 80% of life, especially in America, is made unfair because human being make it unfair. And in this young lady's situation, her life was made unfair for two reasons. Number one, as B. Avery said, you have people who could give a care less about humanity, the only thing they care about is their own selfish needs to get power. That's all they care about. So, and then you have the lady who, through whatever circumstance she went through, she walked in in room and she made life very unfair for herself by talking about some no sex stuff. Lady, you should have took the sex stuff and not took the needle. And to to watch the way they looked at her eyes popping out, skin swelling up like she was a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and they enjoyed it. >> Yeah. >> It just goes to show you how how messed up they are in the head, how they need to be going to sitting on somebody's couch, and just how they do not care about humanity. >> No. >> Simple as that. And it could be it could be anger and rage because often times when we lose someone that we're very close to, that we love as a mentor, it can put us in a disposition to not care about certain things. But at this point, as long as it has been, it should be upon you to go get some help so that you're not behaving in this manner and hurting somebody else's family. >> Right on. Well said, my brother. Well said. Um I'm glad to hear that uh Plum is still alive. Uh he's in the hospital. >> Yeah. >> Uh under surgery right now. Uh you think he'll pop up in the season finale? >> He's got to. He's he he's a integral part of this season. And some of the information that they got right now, they wouldn't have if it wasn't for Plum. You better let my guy That's that's one of my favorite sidebar characters in this season. You got to let Plum pop up. Geeks galore. >> Yes. Yes. Geeks galore. I love it. I love it. Um who is the character that you thought that you were talking about at the very beginning where you said uh you know that you didn't trust them, but now they turned out to be, you know, A-OK? >> Samson. I did not trust Samson. >> Okay. >> I did not trust Samson, and I was happy to learn that he's a boy scout. I was happy to learn that he he he is basically Captain America without the super serum super serum serum. I was happy to learn that. And um I would love to see him and Reacher team up, which we kind of got a little look at at the end, but let's see how it plays out. >> Oh, okay. You seem like you still got some hop over there. We're going to We're going to >> Okay, we're >> [laughter] >> We're we um we're We're going to We're going to get to it. We're We're going to get to it. But no, they they they're figuring things out, man. They're like, "Okay, uh we got this chemical right here that Pootra and all them uh we're trying to make." And um it was a pretty complicated story that they was telling and how they was connecting all these dots. I had to take it back a few times to make sure I understood that it all made sense. Um and yeah, they they thought they was going to be at the stadium or the orchestra or the opera. >> Mhm. >> And it wasn't. And they used all their resources. Again, they they did a good job of inserting um detective or agent or the policeman Daugherty, Sean Daugherty, Tamera's partner. He's like, "Hey, I trusted you and you [ __ ] me. You know, you did We did this We did that and you didn't come through. Get out of here before somebody recognize you or turn the turn you in myself." Yeah, he had every right to be uh frustrated there. Um I also like his line of dialogue. Like, "Yeah, it was believable I I I Not only that, I don't pull out all the strings for you. People giving me a hard time because your weasel butt uh head butted me and they think you head butted me and was able to escape. So, they giving me a hard time with that, too." I was like, "Man, >> [laughter] >> this guy cannot get a break. You know what I'm saying?" So, >> That was kind of funny, man. >> [laughter] >> Yeah. >> It was so weird like humor that wasn't meant to be humor. It's like the way life rolled the dice is funny type situation. >> Yeah. Yeah. He I I like him. Uh his >> [laughter] >> His real name is um It What I'm going to pull him up right here. Give him some shine real quick. It's Mr. Kevin Corrigan. Um I like you, Kevin. Yeah. >> That's who that is. >> Yeah. Yeah. Oh man, he's played in a couple of things man. Way to go Kevin. Way to go. >> Yeah, born in '69, True Romance, The Departed. What's he have upcoming? All these right here, The Hunting Party, The Projectionist. Yeah, yeah. >> Paradise records. >> Yep, yep. I like him. I like him. He's he's a he's a pretty good addition to the show. But I like how all heads are coming together man and they trying to figure this out. It's not at the opera, then they think it's going to be at on the highway. And then they're letting John know and about what's about to go down. And you know what? We should have saw the the writing on the wall. The foreshadowing that John was going to sacrifice himself or die because they didn't necessarily have to put the scene the scene or line of dialogue in where I forgot his name. I think his name was Mike and the son's name was Kyle or Kevin and he was trying to get his vote. And then the little boy was over he got the phone call like hey I got to step away and then he went over there saying like the little boy is sitting sad soaking. It's like what's wrong? I want to spend time with my dad. So he set it up like a baseball game like hey let's all go all three go together. And you know kind of like it's going to be some business thing and he knew that Kyle or whoever that man was it was either Kyle or Mike was going to say yes because he was trying to butter him up anyway. So he kind of just gave the little the little boy another shot like hey I'm going to be going by the fourth inning and it's just going to be y'all two right there. So I'm like man they are really painting Congressman Sampson in a good light right now. But I didn't I didn't see that coming. I I liked how they went to detective mode and all that too. Thoughts on on that little section right there sir. >> I love the conversation with the kid. No way Sampson is dead. There's just no way. No way. >> That's that a hope I was talking about. >> Not buying it. >> Stop the cap. >> THERE THERE IS >> [laughter] >> HEY, WHY WOULD THEY HIT ME WITH the damn cap? Come on, man. No. There is no way Samson is dead, man. If he If he's dead, I am going to retire from doing reviews >> No, we can't have that. >> hours. For 2 hours. >> that's cool. 2 hours. 2 hours. Um yeah, but on the on a editing point of view perspective, I love the way they shot and put all this together. What are the 10 rules or 10 signs when there's a suicide bomber? And I was like, "Number one." And then they they switch to Samson. Number two, it switch to Reacher. Number three, and then we I'm like, "This is dope." And they showing shots of the woman with the purse and then this person over here. Bag it Bag it closed. Clinched fists. Mumbling to themselves. Looking straight or down so they don't have to see who they killed. And I was like, "This is who Mr. Dark Man Japoogie is a suicide bomber." And I think Jacob Yeah, man. And I like how Reacher ran bum-rush his way in there and you know, I'm I'm mad at the wife his Samson's wife because she did not listen. The home Like she said, "Ladies Ladies like There There are popular videos and memes and stuff on Instagram right now. There skits of a man saying, "Hey, get in the car right now. We got to go. We got to go." And that it's a skit, but they're like, "Why? Why? Why?" Listen to your man. If he says we got to go, don't say don't ask no questions. Don't reply. Don't Don't do what he says. Get in the car. Leave. We know what we're talking about. There are certain things that women can do better than men, and there are certain things that men overall can do better than women. And one of those is situational awareness, okay? Not saying that men what man or woman is better. We are each better at different things and we come together as a unit. So, I got to cover myself because, you know, sometimes people call me a chauvinist, which is interesting. Uh from the Yeah, somebody It was a male, too. Uh Lanterns episode three. That was You sound like a You show a chauvinist. But, anyway, listen listen to your man, okay? You know, so you so you can get out of there safely. Um but, he ended up tackling him, man, and blew up Lamar. How can he STILL BE ALIVE? >> [laughter] >> WOW. LITERALLY literally or figuratively? Which which which one you want me >> Both Both or either. I just need an answer. >> So, so from one perspective, this is TV. >> Okay. >> And TV, you can dredge it up that nobody dies. But, from a figure a figure figurative perspective, this dude was special ops. He should We saw it explode, but somehow someway he might have been able to push himself away from said person and swim far enough to get out of the blast radius because he's special ops. Now, I'm asking a lot for a dude to be doing this in a Tom Ford $3,000 suit what he was wearing. But, and but, I'm believing that he could do it because he's special forces. They didn't keep making the point to let us know that this dude is special forces for nothing. And um I hope he's still alive, man. I think he is. >> Okay. We We going to see. We going to see. One more thing I wanted to touch on is um uh Amina not uh What was her name? Amisha? I keep forgetting everybody's name. Is it Ami- Ami- Amisha? She saw >> the one that Reacher slept with. >> No, that's Layla. Layla, the older woman. Uh Ami- Amisha Amisha saw um Samson kill Putra. And so, that's why that's another reason why she's um she's a crazy gung-ho and wanted to execute him. And so, again, it just goes back to Jacobson. A million and one things had to fall into place. Yeah, they've been planning this for a minute right here. She thought she was going to get a a two-for-one special here. Uh but >> paid. >> Yeah. Yeah. But I'm glad that this is a Reacher is throwing a wrench in their in their gears right now to F everything up. But Um that's the episode, man. It appears to me, John Samson, Congressman John Samson is dead. But Lamont is holding out hope over there. And so, we're going to see, y'all. We got one more episode to go. What are your final thoughts, if any, sir? >> My final thoughts is I don't know why more people aren't into Reacher. Um this show is fantastic, great action. Each and every season feel like it's its own standalone season, even though they do take small nuggets to build upon from previous seasons. >> Correct. >> And sometimes when we see him with some of these certain crews he works with, you kind of wish that they could do like a all-star Reacher, maybe something that's like big international and you could bring people from all the seasons to work with him, maybe do a finale season or something like that.
