Video summary
In this recap of *Reacher* Season 4, Episode 5, titled "Bridge," the hosts discuss how a misunderstanding escalates Reacher's situation, making him the most wanted man in Philadelphia while old enemies resurface and new threats emerge. The episode is characterized by an intense, high-speed chase sequence that spans the entire runtime, featuring Reacher and Tamara being pursued by two dangerous Indonesian operatives known as "Black Widows." These adversaries are revealed to be far more lethal than anticipated, wielding automatic rifles and deadly curved blades, which leads to a chaotic pursuit involving car crashes, bridge chases, and a harrowing escape through a building where Tamara repels down the side of the structure.
The hosts delve into the complex moral ambiguities surrounding the characters Jacob and his uncle, debating whether they can be trusted given their involvement with the antagonists. While Jacob avenges his sister's death by killing innocent bystanders during the chase, including a man returning home to his daughters, the hosts express outrage at this ruthlessness. They analyze the possibility that Jacob might actually be in cahoots with the Black Widows, suggesting that his seemingly foolish behavior and willingness to get caught could indicate he is playing a double game. This theory is reinforced by the fact that despite being held hostage with a knife around his neck, Reacher manages to escape, leaving the audience wondering if Jacob will survive or if he is merely setting up a larger trap.
The narrative also uncovers significant plot twists regarding the drive found in the hotel room, which contains not only compromising photos of a congressman and soldiers but also torture videos that expose the vicious nature of the Indonesian killers. The hosts speculate on the connection between these operatives and high-level figures, such as the North Carolina gubernatorial candidate mentioned in the files, hinting at a vast crime syndicate operating behind the scenes. As the episode concludes with Reacher and Tamara escaping to a warehouse where Jacob is held hostage by Amisha, the hosts agree that while the situation is dire, Jacob is unlikely to die because his actions suggest he is an active participant in the conspiracy rather than a helpless victim, setting the stage for a dramatic resolution in the next installment.

What is going on everyone? We are back
be Avery and Lamont for Reacher season 4
episode five titled Bridge. Following a
misunderstanding,
Reacher becomes the most wanted man in
Philadelphia. Old enemies track it down
and a new one appear. Jacob, Tamara, and
Plum end up involved in a shooting and
Jacob avenges his sister's death. Of
course, we are talking spoilers. Lamont,
we uh got a reveal at the end of episode
4 that Amisha and Leila are not who they
seem. They got these Kurami blades from
India going around chopping people up
and they are quite dangerous. We see
that at the very beginning of this
episode. Did you see this coming? Was
you expecting it? How you feeling? How
did you feel about the episode, sir? Let
us know. Please let us know.
>> This episode, I feel like it was the
longest chase scene in TV history.
>> All we got was purity chase scenes. Like
this whole episode. I liked it. It was a
roller coaster ride. I was on the high,
but they kept me on that high so long. I
was ready to come off of it for a little
bit. And in regards to our Indonesian
black widows, I said to you, if you can
remember, I said be Avery, they normally
don't let Reacher get the panty draws
that early. I said that and I said it
could have repercussions. And damn it,
it did have repercussions. But what the
problem is,
the Indonesian Black Widow thinks that
Reacher is the ordinary man. He's not.
Reacher is definitely on the spectrum
and people who are on the spectrum
sensory is a little different and he is
not going to fall or succumb to any more
of her widow tricks.
>> Yeah, I don't think he will anymore. Um
but he was tricked. You know, she did
put something on him and that made him
uh overlook some things, man. and you
know, she was able to slip some things
through the cracks and, you know, almost
get away with this. But the cat is out
the bag, man. Um, that's quite
interesting to me. I like the fact and I
like the episode, too. I um thought it
was very fascinating. I do agree with
you in every sense that my goodness
gracious, this whole episode was a giant
chase scene. And I did like it, too. It
it it was entertaining, you know. Um, I
I wasn't like you as far as me wanting
it to be done. I I noticed it just like,
wow, that they are really doing a lot.
They're doing um interesting things with
this camera. I like the score. That was
fantastic. These long ass takes. So, um
I I really did enjoy it, but um I also
liked how they figured out well the
exposition that we got when Richard
realized he was wrong. Like, you know,
hey, we got to figure out what happened
to Leila and Amisha. And that's like um
about that. I don't think that they were
kidnapped, you know, we they go back to
the room, they see that their bodyguards
are dead, you know, but the the corner
or the lady at the hospital said this
and comparing notes, we think it's them.
They are the ones that hired the Only
Fans model to seduce Ben so he can get
the information off of the drive. And of
course, we got to talk about that. I
definitely did not see that coming, but
my my my goodness gracious. Um, but they
they figure out that where the drive is
and they just come, you know, emptying
magazines in the middle of the street,
you know, just spraying them down like
that's a hell of a leap right there, you
know. And one episode we thinking they
good little two shoes and Amisha can't
talk. Next thing you know, she's like,
"Was
that a lot to you or or or how did you
feel about all that?
Man,
you got me laughing over here about
these indo hoes, man. These chicks, they
roof. It's like they GI Joe or
something, man. These chicks was hanging
out the window. Talk about a scrub. I
don't want nobody hanging out the
backseat of my friends. These chicks was
out the window with automatic rifles.
Okay, not semi-automatic. These was full
magazines. And the one that was playing
the role of the mama, I told you, keep
an eye on her. I told you, she just as
dangerous. I mean, she might be even
more dangerous than um the other girl.
And both of them wield blades. And I
just thought that that scene where they
got trapped on a bridge since we're
talking about them chasing everybody
with guns. Well, let's just let me go
back to when they you'll get to it in a
minute, but I have a lot of thoughts
about the pursuit that those two endo
black widows gave
Reacher and Mrs. Green. So,
when they get to the brother's house and
they go in his mailbox and and
everything has been sent,
>> be Avery, I'm saying to myself, why
y'all just acting like people not
looking for y'all? You taking your sweet
time. Get in the car. Get moving. Open
the damn letter. Okay, we don't have to
be standing around waiting and no sooner
than I say that you see a little black
SUV creeping up and when you first saw
that SUV, you should have got your ass
in the car. Now again, TV continues to
do the thing that we always complain
about.
TV has the worst people shooting guns
that we have ever seen because if this
was real, everybody in that car,
including my my man, the nerd, he would
have been dead.
>> Yeah.
>> He He would have at least got a haircut.
Ba, he ain't even get no haircut.
>> Right. Right. Right. I do agree. I do
agree. I do agree.
>> Oh, okay. You Okay. Okay. Yeah. Um I I I
agree. I feel the same way. Um they they
did get away a little bit too easy, you
know. They made one right turn and
almost flipped over the car, you know,
but it ended up balancing out. Um but
being not what is his name? The um yeah,
being
kind of a weakling weasel to me. Uh he
folded a few times in this episode and
you know he's trying to play the tough
guy like well you know I'm going to
avenge my family. you know that you
didn't lose what I lost, but you know,
you always giving up. We know what
happened at the end of this episode, but
that was just like the stupidest plan
that they came up with. Well, I mean, I
Okay, I I will give it to him. I like
how he was going fast and he made the
sharp right turn and ended up on the
bridge and that made uh Leila and Amisha
crash. That was fine, but they just
should have just stayed right there. I
don't understand why she had to get her
gun with her seven bullets and point it
out the back of the car and shoot while
he's backing up. Like like you said 10
seconds ago, they have automatic
weapons. So that wasn't the smartest
thing to do. You know, they ended up
they ended up getting away. Uh but you
know, up until this point, you know, I I
thought it was um uh a rather
entertaining uh chase scene um at least
in the car right here. So, you know, um
I I I did enjoy that. I um
>> I still don't trust the brother.
>> I I probably like my you got be my
Spidey senses still tingle a little bit
in my spine with that brother.
I've been saying this from episode one.
There's something about Smallville, for
those that don't know what I'm talking
about. Clark Kent, that's who the little
brother is trying to act like. There's
something about him that's off to me,
man. I don't know what it is, but I a
part of me just don't trust that
brother.
>> Okay. Well, we we'll see. I You know,
you're really good with your theories.
You are. I I will give you that. I don't
I can't give you this one, though. But
we going to see. I could be wrong. And
my bad. I said Ben. That That was the
nephew. I meant Jacob. Um you know, he's
weasling up a bit. But they escape. They
jump into the water. And this is just
awful. Like why they got to kill the man
that's going home to his three daughters
when he got the giant teddy bear? I mean
can't you can't just knock him out.
>> I mean what? That's just evil.
>> Out the car.
>> Yeah. Fed car.
>> What was at least leave a teddy bear in
there so that when they find the stolen
car, the kids can get the damn teddy
bear. I'm sure that maybe the store
owners or somebody will look out for the
kids, but y'all got to be that ruthless.
This man was doing nothing. He's well
known in the community and y'all just
sliced them up.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Uh they deserve to die after
that. You know, the murders that they
did in the hotel, you can just easily
write that off as self-defense because
it was um but this guy right here was
just completely innocent. So, um I I'm
I'm really upset about that. You know,
they definitely definitely do um deserve
to get their asses kicked for that right
there. But, you know, um it's
>> Let me ask you about the If if you don't
mind, let me ask you about Jacob from
that bridge scene.
>> Yeah.
>> Well, not just that, because you talked
about how he had a couple of fups.
>> Don't you think the bridge scene was a f
up, too?
>> Like, bro,
I mean, if we being realistic about
this, be Avery, you reversing and these
chicks have unlimited bullets in an
automatic weapon. You're dead. What you
think you doing?
>> You're acting emotionally and stupid.
And when we get too tilted on our
emotions, we all behave outside our
norm. And that's what he's doing. But to
me,
I think if they wanted to have killed
him, they could have. And they didn't.
And you notice that the only person who
really got away and was able to hide in
that scene was our nerd guy. And we're
looking for the nerd guy.
>> So this just further kind of makes me
think, should we trust Jacob? I don't I
don't You said that they could have shot
him, but they didn't. I don't I don't
see that. Um, you know, I don't I don't
see them trying to save him through all
of those bullets that were flying
through the air. I just don't. But we'll
we'll see. Y'all let us know what y'all
think. Do y'all agree with Lamont and
his theory that we cannot trust Jacob,
you know, and the the the two Black
Widows are are not trying to kill him?
>> B with that much high power rifles,
>> one of them should have died. Period.
>> True.
>> You you literally you could close your
eyes and aim at that car with that kind
of weapon and just move your hand left
to right like this.
>> I I agree. that may just be bare riding
on their end,
>> you know.
>> Okay.
>> But I, you know, I'm I'm not I'm not I
did get a laugh um out of Plum when he
was like, "If you don't like what I'm
going to do, get out the car now or
leave." And he got his ass out and and
ran. That That was That was funny.
>> That was funny, man.
>> That was very That was very funny. That
was very very funny. Um who who or who
is Thomas Wabber?
Um they said that you know with the
passports and they was flying people in
and out and Plum was looking on the
computer and it was a dark um chocolate
African gentleman uh I think his name
was Tom. What do you think is going on
with that character right there and them
trying to bring him into the states?
Bring him into the fold.
Bro,
I have I have no idea. Like, if I'm
connecting the dots and I'm listening to
what the North Carolina Senate
gubernatorial candidate is saying that
he was in the picture because the other
guy was a scientist of malaria. Are
they, you know, instead of selling arms,
are they selling disease? I And this guy
is like some kind of trafficker of such
things from Africa.
>> Uh maybe he's a fixer. Maybe he can get
you passports, change your names. Maybe
he's a tech guy. I I don't know what his
connection is, but we know it's it's
most likely not good.
>> Gotcha. Yeah. Um we'll see. It seemed
like they're trying to write him off as
innocent in the way, too. But, you know,
we we'll find out. I have no idea
either. U I have no idea, but you guys
let us know your thoughts. Let us know
your theories on what this can mean for
the show and the other characters
because we're curious. Now, Lamont, this
is a crazy scene right here. I kind of
had to turn my head away a little bit. I
was squeamish, you know. What did you
How did you feel about Reacher pulling a
guy's head through the jail cell and
ripping his ear off. Was that justified
or not?
>> I look It was justified. I looked down
cuz I said to myself, Amazon really is
going to pull this through. And I mean
that folks with the double antandra.
They pulled that through. Yeah,
>> he tried to shoot Reacher and I thought
it was pretty slick. Reacher was able to
use that pillow to avoid it. I mean,
dude, he should have Reacher should have
beat him down. Probably hurt him like
this the first time
>> because don't be surprised if we see
this guy again.
>> Don't be surprised.
>> And what I want to know is how crooked
is the Philly police force if he was
able to get in that easily? I told you
we couldn't trust Greensboro.
>> Very true.
>> Yeah.
>> Day one and I still don't trust them.
And so, you know, I'm just curious to
know what is going on in that police
department. There are some obviously
some crooked cops. And I think Jacob's
uncle Well, I ain't going to say that.
I'mma say it. I was getting that. I
think that Jacob's uncle you can't trust
either. I don't cuz he he just he don't
know what's going on. and he he seems
like he he's even worse than Jacob as
far as the amount of courage he has or
the lack thereof. But it's like this is
just out of our league. We don't have
the resources. Okay, call the FBI, let
them know what you know and let them do
their job. I'm going to order some food
and you know blah blah blah. I don't
trust him. I think he's way more or less
trustworthy than Jacob, but you feel the
opposite. So you don't trust Jacob. I
don't trust the uncle.
It's like this, man. One of them we
can't trust, which makes it hard to
trust either one of them. So, but I
don't believe they were right that both
of them are dishonorable, but one of
them we can't trust. And you know, the
buyout for the uncle is that he's old.
He's probably close to retirement. He
probably don't want to be dealing with
these issues anyway. He's probably got
some mental health issues going on. They
kind of highlight a bit. So it's it's
easy to believe that he wouldn't want to
deal with this because at this stage in
his career behavior, he's lazy and just
want to be done with it.
>> But you could be right. So I am going to
say right here, ladies and gentlemen,
one of those two is in on the spread.
Okay? One of those two.
>> Well, let me ask you this. What is more
likely? They're both innocent or they're
both guilty.
Guilty
as guilty as
>> I I got you. I got you. Okay. Okay.
>> Say he did that man. Guilty as F.
Yeah.
>> Okay. Okay. Um something else though uh
that you just brought up? Um what was
the last thing you What was we talking
about right before that that scene? I
was going to make a point uh about
another character, but it slipped my
mind. What was what? Okay, I if it comes
if I remember I'll go back to it. So, um
I do apologize. But the characters, you
know, they rendevous at the hotel. I
think it's kind of smart and you know, I
like how resourceful Retri is, how
they're going up the elevator and he's
looking um out the elevator down the
halls trying to find a room that's being
fixed up for the next guest and he's
like, "hm, let me just give this person
a hundred extra dollars." you know, we
going, you know, and we go in here and
where we can kind of relax a little bit,
breathe, and look and see what's on this
on this drive. I like that. I thought
that was pretty cool. But we get the
reveal. We get what the drive has on it
is one file, and it's of the congressman
and Adrien Putra and some other random
soldier. Rich is like, I don't even know
what I'm looking at. They also found the
phone. It wasn't just the drive. It was
the phone. They're able to charge it and
they're able to see the torture videos.
Lamont, what was going through your head
when all this was being exposed, sir?
>> I was like, man, these endo black
widows, man. These these hoes don't
play. Like, like,
bro, fearful, scary,
>> very scary. These are some very, very
scary adversaries. But then it makes you
want to know who's their boss,
>> right? If if Day is this vicious, who's
their boss? And I want to shout out
Allan Richardson for his chase scenes
and squeezing his big butt through the
the trash dumpster thing. I'm like, bro,
ain't no way you about to get 600, 6'4,
255 and 3/4 pounds down that shootute
>> and you somehow another got it down
there. But the police should have got
him then be Avery. like they they they
should have had some if this is the
hood, the police is all around the
dumpsters. We're not getting our asses
out no garbage shoe. I can just tell you
that right now. He made it out. But that
video, man, it was gruesome. And like
they showed the girl in her underwear
getting sliced up. They showed um Ben
sitting there all messed up in the head
and scared. And it it was just it's some
stuff, man. And
I I just want to know I have questions
about the congressman. I mean the guy
running for governor in North Carolina
and what is his real involvement because
he's obviously he's not telling the
whole truth.
>> Yeah. NDA. But what do you think the
picture meant though? Like I mean we see
how vicious and evil that Amisha and
Leila are to get this job. There's only
one file on it. It's a picture. What do
you think the picture means?
Maybe they have some relationship with
the with the guy with one with one of
those soldiers. Um maybe one of those
soldiers in that picture done something
dastardly to the family. Maybe the
scientist
um you know might have said that there's
no issues in Indonesia with malaria, so
we're going to kill funding to it and
that took out somebody family member.
It's got to be something to that effect
for these people to want it. And you got
to think that if you've got that picture
and that phone, it's going to take down
those two black widows. So, you know,
I'm thinking in terms of if I got these
two black widows, they've got to be
connected to somebody in that picture.
And that picture has got to be able to
take down not just them, but a whole
crime syndicate. So, somebody in that
picture is crooked as f. And I do
believe that our guy running for
governor knows all about it.
>> Yeah, it's three people in there. Um I
want to trust him, but you know, we
we'll just have to see. Who do you trust
more? Um the congressman or or um or
Jacob?
>> Man, you ask me these crazy hard
questions, man.
>> Yes. Yes. Hard questions.
Golly,
this this one's hard, man.
This was I trust If I'm going to pick
which one I trust more, I'm saying I'm
going with Jacob more than someone who's
getting paid to lie for a living. I
would trust Jacob a little more.
>> Okay. Okay. Right on. Right on. Y'all,
who do y'all trust more? I I think I
trust Jacob more myself. Um, but like
you said, this was another great chase
scene. We got Tamara and Reacher
running. Uh, this time they repel down
from the building. She's on the glass,
you know. It's funny that she was like,
"Fing all I'm not going to repel down."
He's like, "Just wrap your legs around
me. Everything will be okay." And she
ends up falling through the ceiling, you
know. But they they end up escaping.
They go on the bus. I can't get mad at
that lady for snitching, you know. I
would have been scared, too. I probably
would have just been minding my
business, you know. I don't know how you
we all will um react different. But we
get to the end of the episode, Lamont.
We get to the end of the chase
and they're in the warehouse
and it looks like Reacher and Tamara
have the jump on Ila. But no, Amisha
comes around the corner and she has the
curved knife around Jacob's neck. And
here I am again. So I'm like, "Damn it,
son. You didn't listen. You're getting
caught up again. First you had the
stupid ass plan on the bridge when all
you had to do is chill and wait for the
cops. And now you're getting caught up
and they using you for leverage." Is
Jacob, And that's how the episode ends.
Is Jacob going to live or is he going to
die? And we know these are killers.
Lamont, what you think?
>> He can't die because he's he's in bed
with them. Man, that was See, I've
watched too much TV and when I see stuff
like this, the way they caught him and
some of his stupid behaviors, that
always,
you know, kind of hearkens to me that
that person is in cahoots with whoever
the antagonist is. So, I believe Jacob
wanted to get caught. I believe he's
somehow another in cahoots with these
Indonesian black widows. And no, he's
not going to die. I do not believe he's
going to die. I can't wait to see how
they get out of this, but I do not
believe he's going to die.
>> Okay. I don't think he's going to die
either. I wonder how he's going to get
out of it. It would be very interesting.
I don't I didn't see how Reacher was
going to get out of the beginning of
this episode when he was in the hotel
room and all the cops were surrounding
him. He just end up throwing a a a lamp
at one of them and and brum rushing the
other two and ran down the hallway.
entertaining. You know, he's getting
away on the skin of his teeth, but um
you know, I'm still enjoying myself. Um
are those your final thoughts, sir?
>> Those are my final thoughts, my brother.
>> All right. All right. Well, I do
appreciate that. I do appreciate that.
