RAVENS JUST GOT AN UPDATE ON TWO INJURED WEAPONS…AND ONE COULD BE OUT FOR A WHILE!

I really do hate updates like these for Ravens. So, let's start off with the positive first. So, we won. We beat the Colts and we beat them decisively. We were up by multiple scores in the fourth quarter and a lot of us were looking around at each other like, "Oh no, is it happening again?" But the Ravens held it down and they closed it out. Thank you, Jesse Mentor. Now, Zay Flowers during the first half, he was going crazy, but he left the game in the second quarter with a hamstring injury and he did not return. And we were wondering like, man, what's going on with Zay Flowers? He's on the sideline. He pacing back and forth. He ain't look too upset, but at the same time, that's still not always so telling. But Jesse Mentor provided us with an update. And he said when it comes to Zay Flowers with a hamstring injury, he is day to day. And when I saw that, I said, "Oh, thank goodness." Because when Jesse Mentor says dayto day, Jesse Mentor means daytoday. So Z Flowers, he should be back any second now. any second now. So, that's great news. But then on the flip side with Jacobe Lane, we also lost him. And Jesse Mentor provided the following update on him. He said Jacobe Lane might be out a bit longer, but they're still gathering information. Mentor said that the wrist injury wasn't immediately felt by Lane, but he felt it later in the game. And I think it was on the play right here. It was on that fourth down attempt by the Baltimore Ravens where a That's why it's a game of inches. Every single play can change literally everything about not only the game but about your football team. Because a couple plays before that, Lamar Jackson, he hit Jacobe Lane uh in the back of the end zone. Jacobe Lane came down with a touchdown. He did the Ray Lewis squirrel dance. We were all celebrating. We were happy. We were hyped. But then the ref said, "Oh no, Ravens fans, y'all getting a little too positive. Let's change this into a negative. They called holding on Javon Gwyn. So that negated Jacobe Lane's first touchdown, but that negated a whole lot more than that. Um because a play later, uh I think they may have done a run with Derrick Henry. They didn't get it. So on fourth down, they went for it. And I was like, "Okay, all right, Jesse Manner, you trust the offense. You trust the defense, too. You trust this whole team. All right, so we trust you." and Lamar, he got pressured and he threw it up to Jacob Lane and it just st a little bit, but then Jacobe Lane, he ended up coming down awkwardly on his wrist. And again, that's the play that we think it happened on. We don't know for sure, but he was out for the rest of the game, never to return. Um, and with that, it's like, man, if that holding call would have never been called, we could still have Jacobe Lane right now. and and it just it just sucks thinking of stuff uh like that. Now, the update that came out last night, again, we're still waiting for more clarity on it directly from the Baltimore Ravens, but Mike Gar said the following. He said the initial diagnosis on Ravens rookie wide receiver Jacobe Lane is a fractured wrist suffered in the win over the Colts. Sources say he'll undergo further testing, including an MRI, to determine the full extent of the injury. So, we're still waiting on anything official. I've seen different people speculate, oh, it could be two to three weeks. I've seen other people speculate that it could be two to three months. But we don't know. One thing we do know though is that it sucks because Jacobe Lane, somebody who came into uh the off season and he was getting so much hype, so much excitement, and we were like, "Okay, we done heard it offseason excitement for our wide receivers before, but how real is this?" So, they said he was doing good when the pads weren't on. All right, let's see if the pads come on. They said he was doing good when the pass came on. We said, "All right, let's see once they start hitting." They said Jacobe Lane was doing good against backups. He was doing good against starters. Then we were like, "Okay, let's see if he does it against people on another team in joint practice." They said he was still balling in joint practice. Well, what about in a real preseason game? How's he going to do then? What did Jacobe Lane do? The same thing. So that hype, it was translating from hype to, oh, we might have something here for real. But now it's gone for who knows how long. We'll continue to wait until Jesse Mentor provides even more specific updates on somebody who was our wide receiver three. This man leapfrogged TZ Walker for that wide receiver three spot. That shows you just how well he was doing as a rookie. As a rookie, he continued to make his mark this off season, but now we don't know how long he's going to be out for. And Jesse Mentor did actually speak about Tez Walker and he said that right now there's potential for the Ravens to add another wide receiver, but he said that both Elijah Serat and TZ Walker will have a real opportunity to get themselves into a rhythm. And they certainly will because now everybody who's on the bottom or the lower end of the depth chart, they all move up a spot. And how high is that spot that they're going to move up? Well, it depends on Z Flowers. Again, I would expect him back against the If Jesse Mentor said dayto day, I believe you because he's given us so much reason to believe everything that he says. Everything that he's talked about this off season from jump, he's shown it to us. So, don't stop there. So, with Z Flowers, I expect him to be back for this Saints game. We'll see. Everything's to be determined, but I I think he's going to play in the Saints game based off what Jesse Mentor said. Uh, but Rashad Baitman, he stays in his spot, but now everybody behind him at wide receiver three. TZ Walker moves up. Elijah Serat, he'll be active. Leonte West, he moves up. Uh, Chris Mo, I'm sure he'll continue to be called up as well. Uh, and Jesse Mentor said that they could add somebody, but he going to give our own guys a shot first. So, we got to be patient with this. Got to be patient with this. Hopefully we end up getting news like, "Oh man, we thought it was going to be so much worse than this, but Jacobe Lane is going to be back a whole lot sooner than all of us imagined and we going to be all clapping and whatnot." He said, "What's up, Engraven?" Well, hey, what's up, 314? He said, "Man, let me tell you, we played amazing. We had some injuries, but it's all right. All that running they did, I would have been cramping badly, man." [laughter] Anyway, he said, "Uh, but we got a we got a game injuries. We'll see them next week. And don't forget about Luke. That boy scared. Uh, he got scared when Jesse brought in Moody. Luke said, "Y'all not going to put me back up." and booted them boys ain't miss a single one yet that man made a 57 yada and a 45 loved it anyway he said I said 47 to7 and then said 47 to6 when they left Colts at six points but I can almost definitely take a 41-23 game win at least we got a win. We did. Mistakes were made. Stuff got to get cleaned up but the Baltimore Ravens left out of there with the most important thing and that was being in the W column. Next question came from another team keep it clean patron my guy Derek he said engraving engraving engraving speechless Zay Flowers put on a clinic like I don't know man he was playing like a man possessed against them coach they tried to put sauce on him and it still didn't work Zay was on pace for over 200 yards if I'm not if not much more in that game that was insane I have a new nickname for Zay I'm calling him Majin Zay lol cuz he was sure doing his best Majin Buu impression to them coach yesterday also yeah he was doing his thing man And no, he wasn't on pace for no 200 yards. He was on pace for really 350. I And that's being modest, honestly. Maybe even 360. And the reason I say that is because he hadund what was it? 150 yards, five catches, 150 yards. And that was through the second quarter. Yeah. He ain't even play the whole second quarter. So he could have got 30 more yards. He could have got to 180 yards just in the first half. So that would be one half. That's two quarters. So two more quarters. That's 360 yards. So he he could have got 300, man. He was on he was on pace for at least 300 yards. But he was actually on pace for more than 300 to 300 total receiving yards. That's something to think about, man. Now you know what? I can't even say now. I know the coach would have adjusted to they have no answer for him, but we'll never know. Uh anyway, he said um do you think he was sending a message to AB because he was playing angry, confident, and fearless Antonio Brown? Uh I don't I don't think so. I you never know though cuz everybody they get their motivation from somewhere. But I mean Z Flowers is his own person obviously and I can't compare my mind to his but I I forgot all about that Antonio Brown thing. I forgot all about it. And I'm sure Zay Flowers being an NFL player, I'm sure he got a million things on his mind that he got to take care of. And I'm sure that whole Antonio Brown thing cuz he ain't even respond to it. He ain't react. He ain't give it no type of energy whatsoever. So, could it be on his mind? It's possible, but who knows? And I don't really think he cares too much either. Still untouchable. Next question came from my guy Sad Boy. No, you got to chill up, man. We You got to change that whole email and change that name. Sad boy. No, man. Anyway, he said, "I'm writing this before the Colts game." Okay, let's keep that in mind. Uh, and all I can think about is how do you pump out so much information and still never slacking? Are you cloned and not telling us? No. I would definitely not want there to be two of me running around at all. Um, but I I don't know. I have no I I can't even answer that question. And we we do be slacking a lot. We be we be slacking a whole lot. There was a day last week. It was Friday or Saturday. I think it was Friday, but we didn't put out a video. So, there you go. We were slacking cuz we normally put out videos literally every single day, but we ain't put out no video on Friday. So, there you go. We were slacking. That's that. Anyway, uh he said, "Anywh who, do you think if who are you and what do you know?" Because he did send this on September 3rd. He sent this at 10:02 p.m. on game day. This man said, "Do you think if the Ravens get injured, do you think we'll still be able to hold our own now that we have Mentor rather than Harbo? Keep up the excellent work and love to the Team Keep It Clean family." So, at 10:02 p.m. on game day, you sent a question about the Ravens getting injured and how they would hold it down. And that not only ended up happening to one person, it not only ended up happening to two people, it happened to three different Baltimore Ravens. Say Flowers, Jacobe Lane, TJ Tampa. Who are you and what do you know? Another question that came before the game on Sunday, he said, "Don't overlook India." It came from my guy Nicholas and the Ravens certainly didn't overlook Indie. Uh he said, "Week one is one of those games that a loss can sneak up on you out of nowhere. We have to take Jones and Taylor uh and the rest of the Colts gang as threats to beating us. The Ravens certainly did. And because them Colts, they brought it. They brought it, but Ravens brought it even more." Anyway, he said, "There's no logical reason we should lose week one, but it's the Ravens, so you may as well throw logic out the window." Not these Ravens. He said, "God bless you and everything you put your hands to. Uh which aspect of our game do you think will help or hurt us?" I know it's way too early to get in info to back us up on any predictions, but I'm going to go out on the limit and say our defense will step up and shut down the Colts run game, making the Colts offense one-dimensional, causing Jones to fold under pressure. Well, that didn't quite happen. What's the name? Uh Jonathan Taylor. He got 99 yards, 98 or 99 yards. So, we didn't shut down their run game, but we did enough to it early on and we jumped out to a big enough lead to where their run game was still effective, but not nearly as effective if the game had been a lot closer. So, essentially, I guess you you you were right cuz we ain't shut it down, but we did enough. Uh he said it's just this uh person's opinion, which is worth absolutely nothing. Oh, no, no, no. your opinion is worth a whole lot because if your opinion was worth nothing, we wouldn't be reading on here for the whole team. Keep it clean. So, your opinion is certainly valuable, man. He said, "Uh, God bless y'all and I hope God showers you and your family with blessings. We need to establish a consistent run game and finish the game, not stop running our offense in the fourth quarter. Go Ravens." Hey, appreciate that, Nicholas. Thank you, man. And you ended up being spot on about that. How he said, "Establish a consistent run game." We did just that and finish the game. Yes, they finished it perfectly. Now, let's get some questions that came after the game. First one came from my guy George. He said, "Good dub, but enough co." Oh, what's he talking about? He said, "What's going on, good brother? What's happening, George?" He said, "Uh, little time, no talk, but I'm excited to keep it clean and get back to be more football." By the way, brother, you get taller, get a lineup, family. Well, I'm trying to get like you, brother. Oh, no. You ain't trying to get like me. Uh, when I don't get a haircut, like when I don't get it cut all the way, I do the lineups myself. That's why sometimes they be a little shaky. They might be leaning a little bit. Um, did I get taller? No. I I might be growing sideways, but up vertically, no, not at all. Um, [snorts] anyway, he said, "Oh, the family's doing good, though. But I appreciate you." He said, "Well, I'm glad we put our foot on a Colt's neck. Number one, Marlo had a day. The King had a day. Zay had a half. Uh, the time came for Bait to step up, and he did not. Zay was out. Lane was out. Opportunity arose. He couldn't get a target. Couldn't get open. People said he had sauce on. What about when Lane and Zay were on the field occupying attention? What's the excuse? I I I don't know. See, that that's where it gets real tricky because we can sit up here and say, "Oh man, Rashad Baitman, he ain't do nothing. He ain't have a day. He ain't Lamar ain't throw to him, though. Lamar threw it to him on that third down and he caught it, but it was negated by a penalty." So, so that that's why I I can't say it's it's so hard to accurately judge Rashad Baitman. That's where the film comes in where you like really got to look at the film. Was he really open? Was this a good opportunity? uh when he was open, was Lamar able to get the ball to him? Did he have an opportunity to throw it to him? Was there pressure? There's so many different factors. So, it's easier to evaluate somebody who is getting a bunch of targets, who is getting the ball thrown their way. But if somebody's not for, in my opinion, I think it it makes it a lot harder cuz I can't just go out there and say, "Man, this dude Rashad Bman, he has such a terrible game. My goodness, what is that?" If he ain't had no targets go his way. like if if he had a bunch of targets go his way and he just kept dropping dropping dropping. He was fumbling and okay, that's one thing. But so so I don't know. I I I really don't know. Who knows? He said, "Uh, no more cope. No more excuses. Somebody, anybody get this man Lamar a better option." Like the Colts fans before the fourth quarter, I'm out. Oh yeah, they they left up out of there. Just wow. Next question came from my guy the legit go I ain't heard from you in a long time man see when these Ravens when they looking on point everybody show back up people that we ain't seen in in days weeks months years everybody be coming well not everybody but a lot of people be coming back through appreciate y'all THOUGH ANYWAY HE SAID AIN'T RAVEN what's up legit go he said I've been a long he said it's been a long time since I sent in a question maybe over a year I I think so I think so it been a it. But I'm glad you're doing good, man. He said, "But how do you feel about Mentors approaching the fourth quarter? We as Ravens fans are so used to slowing down and playing conservative in the fourth quarter, but I didn't feel that in this first game. I felt as if Mentor was trying to tell, excuse me, trying to keep us full steam ahead." Uh, in previous years, Lamar Henry would have been sitting with five minutes left in the fourth, but that wasn't the case. Also, the defense, well, if if if the game was a blowout, then yeah, they would be sitting, but so that that's different. like I would have much rather that too. Like if I see Lamar and Derek Henry said then I know like game is really really over. Like it's it's really really done. Um so that that's different. Anyway, he said oh but as far as mentor um closing out this game uh yeah he was he he he he didn't stop cuz the Ravens they still kept scoring uh the defense they still kept bringing pressure. Um, and then just really to close out the game officially where it was fourth down and Jesse Mentor literally brought the house. He brought everybody. That man brought everybody. So, it was nice to see. Anyway, he said also the defense was outstanding in my opinion. If we look at the game, the defense wouldn't have allowed the Colts to score 20 if it wasn't for that fumble. That's a possibility, but the fumble happened. They got put in a bad situation. So, it it's it happened though. Anyway, he said, "In my opinion, we do need another wide receiver to take over with Zay in England because the passing game uh came to almost a complete stop uh when he got taken out the game." So, in your opinion, should we trade or pick up a free agent wide receiver? Um Z I I think, like I said earlier, I think Zay Flowers is going to be back. I don't think he going to be out too long. Um but Jacobe Lane, that's the one right there. I think it just it depends on how long he's out for. Um, but I still even wouldn't mind like it if you would trade for a wide receiver, it can't just be, oh, just to say you traded for one, you got to really make a move that's like, oh, okay. Oh, y'all really that that's how y'all feeling, Raven? Okay, well, we ain't mad at it. Uh, as far as free agency, you got some options there, too. Um, I know Jeff Ree mentioned Darius Sllayton cuz they had brought him in. No, not Darius Sllayton. Who was the the wide receiver? He said that that they brought him in when they brought when they brought in Chris Moore for a workout. Um so that that so that he he was an option but um anyway I I forgot who it was. So you got options. Tyreek Hill I don't think Tyreek Hill is ready yet. I think that would be a great option for the Ravens cuz that oh boy that would go crazy. So yeah anyway he said um let me know your thoughts. I appreciate you engravening and for everything you do to support the Ravens community. Lamar, the gift and the curse. Oh no, it's all gifts with Lamar. Ain't no curses at all. But next question came from my guy Sunny. He said, "As we saw in week one, the greatness of Lamar Jackson was on full display during a third and 16 play. Two defenders breeze straight through the middle of the line with ease and we watch Lamar escape what should have been a 12- yard sack turning it into a 16 yard run instead. Actually, it's probably like 16 17 yards. But anyway, he said that play is just another reminder of why this organization has neglected the offensive line. Ah, okay. I see what you're saying there. Okay, I get you now. [snorts] That's true. He said, um, 98% of quarterbacks, even the ones we consider mobile, get sacked and put in the dirt. But not Lamar Jackson. Unfortunately, neglecting the offensive line has put us in an offensive line drought for years. This is why I call Lamar Jackson the gift and the curse. Okay, I I I see what you're saying now. I I should have heard you out before I judge. See, that's why they always they say that we listen and we don't judge. We got to listen first instead of running our mouths like you saw me do. But anyway, um yeah, that's You're right. You're right. Um, with a Lamar Jackson, and this happens with a lot of quarterbacks, but certainly with a Lamar Jackson, like a lot of franchises feeling with the Ravens, they they it seems like they felt like, oh, you know what? Um, we got Lamar, he could scramble around. Ah, we ain't got to do the best that offensive line. We can get by. We'll be all right. He'll be all right. We'll be We'll be straight. It'll be cool. But it it's it's so important not to think that way. They with the Ravens for for so long they treated Lamar Jackson they they treated um his legs as a necessity instead of a bonus. They they they treated it they they should have treated his legs like a luxury. Like they should have treated that offensive line. They should have treated it like we had an immobile quarterback there. Like we had almost a statue back there. Um so with this offensive line hopefully they'll be a lot better than previous offensive line. I mean, compared to last year, like you it ain't going to be hard to be better than that, but we just want more from not only offensive line, but really from the Baltimore Ravens as an organization for Lamar Jackson. So, it's um that that has been an unfortunate truth what you talked about with with him being a gift and a curse. But hopefully with this offensive line that we have now, uh, it'll be all gifts. And not gifts to the defense, just giving them a free gift like, "Hey, you you want to get a sack on Lamar Jackson? Okay, we'll let you straight through." But gifts to Lamar, more gifts to Derrick Henry, gifts to our wide receiver because they opening up lanes, and they providing time for the pass catches to get open, and they just allowing our offense to run that much smoother. So, I appreciate y'all watching this video. Hopefully, as this week goes on, may maybe even later today, but hopefully we get a really positive update on Jacobe Lane and he does not end up being out nearly as long as we think he might be. So, we'll see. And hopefully when Ravens practice this week, we get to see our number one number four uh out there. Uh our number one wide receiver, number four out there, that is.
