RAVENS JUST GOT A HUGE SCARE THAT THEY DIDN'T NEED... | HERE'S THE LATEST UPDATE!

This is the last thing you want to see happen at a Ravens practice, especially when it happens to somebody who literally just got paid a couple of days ago. Everything was going super smooth for Z Flowers this off season, but then this before we get into it, make sure you subscribe to the channel. We all stopped what we were doing when we saw it and said, "Oh no, here we go." And it said the following from Jeff Zerick. It said, "Early hope is that it's just a left quad contusion for wide receiver Z Flowers. He banged legs with Jaylen Hawkins and was in a lot of pain as he was on the ground. Flowers limp back to the facility and it's just crazy hearing that." And I was thinking myself like, man, this training camp it's been going pretty smooth. And the best part about it, we ain't had no injury news like at all. Maybe minor stuff here and there, but the biggest injury news that we've had has been positive stuff. Guys like Nomi Matabke making his way back and Teddy Buchanan, he's getting closer and closer and some other guys have returned as well, but we hadn't really had anything significant in a bad way up until Z Flowers. And then they said the hope is that it was a contusion. But let's listen to the update directly from Jesse Mentor. And I love the way that he addressed it from jump. >> Good day of uh training camp. Um had a good day today. We'll be we'll have another full padded day tomorrow where we'll have some uh scrimmage opportunities uh to try again a week out from our first uh preseason game. Get the guys ready to play. Uh we did have uh Z quad contusion. Uh I think he'll be about dayto-day. Uh so go ahead and get that out of the way now and answer that question. And uh with that, we'll open up for questions. So, a couple of things that I took away from the way that Jesse Mentor just opened up his presser. He addressed the injury from jump from the very beginning. Nobody had to ask about it. He let it be known from jump. That's very different. Very contrast to how John Harbaugh handled and talked about injuries. John Harbaugh would tiptoe around the injury. He would take you here, there, everywhere. But Jesse Minton said, "Look, I ain't playing no games. I ain't beating around a bush. This is what it is. Z Flowers is dayto-day. Now with that, and again, [snorts] I hate to keep comparing, but we've been with somebody for 18 years. There's going to be comparisons. This is a big opportunity for Jesse Mentor to earn fans trust even more with how he addressed this injury because he said, "Hey, it could have been worse, but it's not. It's a quad contusion. Zay Flowers is dayto-day." He said he does not anticipate him missing much time at all. So that's a beautiful thing. But now we got to see the follow-through. We got to see when Z Flowers returns. So Jesse Mentor's word can be even more trusted. It can truly be dayto-day. Z Flowers comes back in a couple days. If he comes back next week, it's going to be okay. All right, Jesse Men, you said it. Then you were right. You were spot on. But if it ends up turning into a couple of weeks, then that wouldn't really be dayto-day. But we trust Jesse Men right now. Uh we have no reason to doubt his word. So we're looking forward to getting that notification that says wide receiver Z Flowers has returned to practice. But how do you feel about Zay Flowers? And something that a lot of Ravens fans had talked about early on this off season. They said, "Hey, we love our team. We love Z Flowers. We love Rashad Baitman. Depending on who you talk to, they love Jacobe Lane and Elijah. Love the draft picks and whatnot." But so many Ravens fans said it from jump. If Zay Flowers goes down then what what's it going to be? What are the Baltimore Ravens going to do? This is why so many people were hoping that they were going to bring in a veteran wide receiver, somebody who had been there, done it, but Raven said, "No, no, no, no. We straight. We good. We got it. Now again, this injury is minor. Jesse Mener said it's minor. It's not anything major. It's not anything too significant. So Z Flowers should be back. But this does serve as a reminder like what would happen if we don't want it to happen. We don't need it to happen. And again, Zay Flowers, he has had such a healthy career, which is great. And that's something that we cannot take for granted. That is one of the most underrated and underappreciated things when it comes to Z Flowers is his health cuz he has been available like 99% of the time. But does this make you think the Ravens should still bring in another wide receiver or are you comfortable with the guys that we have and you feel like, hey, every little thing is going to be all right? He said, "I hope all is well with you and your family. Just wanted to point out that when it comes to all the teams the Ravens will be playing in the upcoming season, Lamar's record is 46 and 17 or or a win. I can't even talk. Or a winning percentage of 74%. If you take out the AFC North teams, Lamar is 23 and five or a winning percentage of 82%. That's insane. That's that's that's crazy. I appreciate you presenting that information. That's that's insane. He said he's undefeated against seven of the teams he will face this season. The Saints, Texans, Cowboys, Falcons, Panthers, Chargers, and Buccaneers. Well, regular season because he did lose to the Chargers in the postseason, but regular season, no, he hasn't. Um, okay. Yeah, I just had to double check. He said the two teams he has the most losses against are the Steelers. Oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah, Steelers. He said, "And the Browns." Uh, he said he is also 50/50 against the Bills and the Titans. I'm predicting those are the four teams their losses will be against. Bills, Browns, Steelers, and Titans, plus one random one like the Buccaneers. Oh, you kept us losing to the Titans. Yuck. I feel like that would almost be embarrassing if we lost to the Titans. But anyway, he said, "I think the Ravens will win the North with a 12 and5 record and will once again, oh, excuse me, once we are in the playoffs, our team will catch fire and Lamar will be covered in confetti come February." I just wanted to point out Lamar's record against our upcoming opponents and get your thoughts and predictions on what you think the final record of the regular season will be. [sighs] I Yeah, I could see 12 and five. Um, I I would say a high a high of 15 and two, but that's that would be like crazy. But I I think 12 and five is reasonable. I think 12 and five is realistic, too. Um, because like, hey, we we got a nice team though overall. But we got a new coaching staff, so they might get some little wrinkles out here and there. So, and there gonna be some blunders. There gonna be some there could be some games where the other team just is better than us. It could happen. We don't want it to happen. Hopefully, it doesn't happen, but it's a possibility. So, these are all things that uh you think about. Um, so let's see. He said, "Thanks for everything you do for the fans." And to quote what I imagine EDC said when asked about Stefon Diggs, "I'm out." That's funny. That's funny. Especially with what we were talking about uh at the top of this video was a Flowers getting injured. And the question that we asked like, "Does this like recall what a lot of Ravens fans were saying? Does it does it recall to your memory what a lot of Ravens fans were saying when it come to the wide receiver room that the Ravens should add a veteran receiver? But Stefon Dixs was a name that came up a lot, a whole lot. But now that's Yeah, that's done. He said, "PS, uh, remember the email I sent you all the way back on April 21st where I predicted Nami would be back on the roster and win comeback player of the year?" He said, "I'm just saying so far so good, right?" Hey, you spot on. So hopefully with this you'll be even more spot on. He said, "Just checking in on you, Mr. Team. Keep it clean. I heard the news and just had to see how one of my favorite how Yeah, one of my favorite YouTubers is doing. Dave Clowny signed with the Texans. So, what are you going to do now?" I'm going just hate on the Texans a little extra. Um cuz I I just it's like the rich getting richer, but it is what it is. David, he would have been nice over here, man. But that's okay. He also said, "What are some key things you want to see in our first preseason game?" Um cuz it's going to be a lot of the backups playing. So, I just want to see the the ball moving and the defense really flying around. And I know it's going to be backups, but a lot of these backups are going to be rookies. Uh they're going to be guys that we know about that are going to get significant playing time when the season does start. They may not be starters, but they're they're still part of this team and they still going to get some burn on the field. So like these are going to be some significant players. Um so I just want to see just the vibe, the energy, um just different skill sets and whatnot. I just excited to see this new era of Jesse Mentor. Um how he has these guys moving, how he has these guys. And I know it's just preseason, but still this will be the first glimpse that we get at it. So, I'm just looking to see them have some fun on offense. Um, I don't know how much Jacobe Lane is going to play. I I think he will probably be the person that I'm and I think a lot of other people are super super excited to see uh come preseason time and just really in general too. Like we everybody hyper Jacobe Lane and it doesn't help that he's making plays every single day. So, yeah. So, we we'll see that. But that's what I'm looking forward to, just them going out there and just showing their stuff, man. Next question came from my guy Elijah. He says, "So, I was just at the stadium practice. And let's take a minute to appreciate how good Baitman has been in training camp. I know it's just shells and jerseys, but Baitman has been showing up and showing out. He's been diving for balls, going up for balls, and is it me or has he been looking good? Uh, has he been moving faster, getting out of routes better because he has had a lot of separation? But man, does Baitman look good or what this week in training camp? Do you think because his spot's on the line? I I don't think his spot's on the line anymore. They they've continued to just publicly back Rashad Baitman over and over and over. And I think at this point that Rashad Baitman, his spot uh is certainly safe. Um and I think with this injury scare with Zay Flowers, like that gave them another reminder like, "Oh yeah, we think we'll keep Rashad Baitman for sure." Well, not even that they think they'll keep him just because of that, but they're glad that they did keep him and they did not move him uh this off seasonason. And it just I I think that gave them even more like even more reassurance in their decision, if that was even a decision that was talked about, thought about, entertained at all. Um, so yeah, Rashad Baitman, he and I don't even think it's necessarily he was showing out because his spot was on the line, but more so because I think his spot on the depth chart, it is like being pushed by other guys. Other guys are getting a lot of noise. Other guys are getting a lot of attention. Um, so somebody could supersede Rashad Baitman on that depth chart as that number two or number one A1B receiver. It is possible. Um, I think with Rashad Baitman's experience that he does got like the advantage over a lot of people, especially with him being a former first round pick, but at the same time like, hey, this a clean slate. This a new regime. Jesse Mentor did not draft Rashad Baitman. So, that's that would tell you all you need to know because he may look at it like, hey, all these guys competing for spots. All of them, they all competing for playing time. They all like So, yeah. Um, but with Rashad Baitman, I I just think this this clean slate, this fresh start, uh, gives him new energy, but also how he talked about that he's going to be being used. He's been being used different ways like more than ever. And he said he has a coaching staff that believes in him. So, if somebody like believes in you, that can give you like a boost of energy right there and a boost of confidence. So, shout out to Rashad Baitman. Uh, he said, "All love, brother. Thanks for answering our questions and really giving us a place to talk Ravens football, man. Thank you from us all. Uh, you've been one of the best and just take your flowers. He said, "Don't try to push it off like you're not doing great things, brother. Thank you." No, man. Um, look, we ain't doing nothing crazy. We just talking in front of a camera about our favorite football team. That's it. That's what I say. But this is why my favorite part of the videos is this. It's because of y'all. It's that it ain't got nothing to do with me. I ain't do. Y'all are presenting all these good points. Y'all are bringing up all this good stuff. Y'all are the ones with these great questions when you think way outside. You see this like this this box right here? Y'all thinking way out here, way out here with these questions, which I appreciate. So, y'all be putting a lot of stuff on my mind. Y'all be bringing a lot of stuff to my attention that I always tell you I I would have never thought about it. I would have never thought about half the stuff that y'all be bringing up. So, I appreciate you and I thank you for just supporting uh for sending in questions like these and just really getting our minds going. Did we get it wrong? Next question came from my guy Tandre. He said, "Hey, engraven. Hope all is well with you and the family." Well, the rest of the family cuz we family, too. Yes, I like that. We are. We all are. He said, "But my question comes after watching presses of players and coaches rave on our guy Jacobe Lane." Uh, do you think there's something missing at practice in Tez Walker's game? Attitude, routerry, hard to coach or something in that nature? Uh, not that Lane going off in camp is a problem to me. I actually love it. But I was also really high on TZ breaking out. Not ruling that completely out the window. Just didn't see Lane or either rookie taking the burn uh with the ones over TZ so soon. What's your take on this? I don't even necessarily know if Jacobe Lane been running with the ones or not. I I don't know. Um, but yeah, we just Well, I I mean, Lamar been throwing them passes, so yeah, I guess he has been. Um, so that Oh, yeah, that's a good Wow. See, that's what I was just talking about in the last question. Y'all be bringing up stuff that I ain't even like that ain't click with me. That ain't even cuz I've been see they've been showing like so many highlights of Lamar Jackson throwing to Jacobe Lane. I've been seeing all of them, but I that him being playing with the starters and against because he's going against Marlon Humphrey. was going against Nate Wiggins. He even beating everybody. Oh my goodness. I didn't even realize that. Well, wow. Well, oh my Wow. Okay. That's all right. That's That's something that's a big deal right there. That's That's a big deal right there. But yeah, um, as far as Tez, uh, they said he been making some plays, too. He been making some plays, too. Um, but man, but the the same thing with Rashad Baby that we were just talking about earlier. U, I think it also applies to TZ Walker. They didn't draft TZ Walker. They didn't draft him. They didn't draft TZ Walker. Um, they they they didn't draft Z Flowers, but he obviously got paid. So, that confirms that he is their guy. Um, they didn't draft for Rashad Baitman. Um, they drafted Jacobe Lane, they drafted Elijah Serat. So, that's something to think about right there. But, I I I wouldn't like rule TZ out like, oh, just because Jacobe Blaine been making all these plays that, oh yeah, TZ is done. And I know you ain't say that, but um I don't think TZ is like written off or anything like that. He he'll have his opportunities for sure. Uh, that's going to be in the preseason. Uh, and then hopefully he get more in the regular season, too. and and he just continues to do uh what he does when he gets opportunities and that's just show out vintage Lamar. Next question came from my guy Ryan. He said, "Yo, ain't hope you and a family are doing well. I've been watching since 2020. I just want to say I appreciate everything you've been doing." I appreciate you, Ryan. Thank you. He said, "Uh, I've been doing some deep research into sports science and player recovery metrics, and I wanted to drop you an email breaking down exactly why the national media is completely tripping about Lamar last year." First, if you look at last year, he had a completely injury riddled season, mostly because of the O line dealing with a hamstring injury that set him four games and came back behind that same O line. Thanks, Harball. And was playing through injury the whole year. You just that part right there again, another issue why John Harbaugh was removed from his seat at the table. Um, stuff like this has been going on for years, but last year was just another terrible example um from Hobo where you said it you said it perfectly like he got hurt because of a bad O line and that caused him to miss time. So he he missed time. It's like oh man Lamar's out. He comes back same exact offensive line. Nothing changed. We saw the problem and if we saw we if we saw the problem, we know he saw the problem, too, but didn't address it at all. That's a big issue. Anyway, he said he was on injury report every week of the whole season and always had ankle tape. He dealt with an ankle, knee, toe, and back. Oh, yeah. I forgot about the toe. I I really think that was Daniel Fle back in that practice. What they said, "Oh, Lamar got stepped on." And every single reporter just didn't see it at all. They knew he got stepped on, but they said they said nobody saw. Come on now. Anyway, uh he said uh Lamar was clearly playing hurt last year and the evidence shows uh through three weeks of the season last year before he got hurt in the KC game. He looked like the Lamar we all know and love. He was running around looking explosive and making plays. He was also number one in passing touchdowns, number one in touchdown percentage, number one in passer rating, number one in yards per attempt, number one in yards per completion, number one in rushing yards, and tied for touchdown to interception percentage. Yeah, he was killing it, man. He had literally picked up where he left off in 2024. He literally did. It It was crazy, man. And then I I hated that his first interception, it was just a terrible throw from him. It was a terrible throw from him um in the KC game. It was like such a waste of I was like that that's going to be the first interception. Now, I don't remember if he was getting pressured or not, but I think he But I think he probably got hit like he most likely did cuz they're offensive line. But it was like such a waste, man. Like that's that's what the first interception is going to be. Something wacky like. But anyway, uh he said he was also leading the MVP race. Also these same narratives of Lamar might not being as good of a runner anymore were happening in 2021 and 2022 when he got hurt and ended both of his seasons. He then went on to win his second MVP and rush for 800 yards in 2023. So I know that Lamar will go back to vintage Lamar because he beat these narratives once. He is healthy again and is only 29. And we all know that healthy Lamar is the best player in the world. You got it. Ryan gets it. He He knows his stuff. He does. He said even Super Dup said that Lamar looks even faster. Also, the research shows that most players in their prime who played through injury and then came back healthy are as good as ever. But even if you take out his running ability, he still has the highest passer rating of all time for a reason. And I'm sick and tired of people acting like this man isn't a year removed from having one of the best seasons of a quarterback in all time. I'm calling it right now. Lamar MV3 on the way and Ravens 2027 Super Bowl champs. Sorry for the long email and appreciate everything you do for the flock. I appreciate everything that you just broke down. We're speaking on Vintage Lam more. That's a Lammore that we looking forward to seeing. That's a Lammore that we we know is there. We know we already know. You already know you you broke everything down perfectly. So now we just got to see it this season. And I it's just it's crazy to just to have such confidence uh in Lamar Jackson cuz and the reason we have such confidence in him is because we've seen it already. We've seen it before. We've seen him do his thing. And like you said, a healthy Lamar, best in the world. Best in the world. I know we got guys like Patrick Mahomes. There's Josh Allen's out there. There's Joe Burroughs. There's um CJ Stre. [laughter] No, I just had to throw him in there. But no, it um but Lamar, man, he we always talk about it how he can do everything that those guys can do. Everything that those guys can do, but they can't do everything that he can do. They can't. And that's what separates him. What separates him is that um just his efficiency. Lamar is just one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the world. Um he doesn't he doesn't do the empty calorie stuff. I love how when Shannon Shash talked about it years ago with Dak Prescott, he said, "Oh, all them passing yards and stuff." Yeah, they they bunch of empty calories because Cowboys always losing, so they coming they coming back from behind. So, they got to throw themselves back in the game. Um but they still loose. But with Lamar again, he could he could have a game where he have 169 passing yards. So people will look at it and 169 passing yards, yuck, what is that? But he had four or five touchdowns in them 169 passing yards. So he just he's crazy, man. He He's so crazy. But it's been beautiful just watching him play, watching him grow, watching him emerge, just watching him get better and better and better and better. Um, that's why with this offensive line, so glad they picked Venger Yawani. Oh, thank you, Ravens, for doing that cuz I'm so glad they did. I just hope this line like is really revitalized and revamped and it's just they protect him. They protect him, protect him, protect him because he's obviously the most important player to these Baltimore Ravens. He's the most important part of this team. Um, and obviously he's not the only part of the team because it's a team. It's not the Lamar Jacksons, it's the Baltimore Ravens. He is huge part as we all know of this team. So, I just and that was such an issue from before. They they didn't treat him like he he was as important as he was as he is. But with this new regime, again, hopefully they can do that. Seems like they're on the right track with doing that. But hopefully they just everything continues and just continues to improve. >> [music] [music] >> The flock flies to the wise.
