RAVENS HYPE AROUND THIS PLAYER WAS DYING DOWN...THEN HE GOT THE ULTIMATE PRAISE FROM LAMAR JACKSON!

Just when I thought that the hype train that all of us are on with Jacoby Lane slowed up just a bit when he actually showed a human side because there were several plays in the joint practice yesterday where mistakes were actually made, where he actually did not win the rep. And I was watching it like, "Is this the really Jacoby Lane?" But just when I thought the hype was dying down JUST A LITTLE BIT, NOT ONE but two Ravens all-pro players they raised it right back up. And that was Lamar Jackson and Marlon Humphrey. Let's hear what Lamar Jackson had to say about Jacoby Lane and exactly who he compared number six to. >> It's easy easy target. Uh big guy, you know, like 6'4 6'5. Uh catch the ball with the best of them, man. I told you like my comparison like Odell Beckham and uh DeAndre Hopkins with the hands. >> Those ain't no small comparisons that Lamar Jackson did with Jacoby Lane, comparing him to Odell Beckham Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins, both who Lamar actually had an opportunity to play with. I wish that he could have had the chance to play with at least one of them in their prime. But anyway, we going to get Jacoby Lane in his prime. But that is a strong strong comparison. We heard Declan Doyle earlier this offseason, the man who's going to be drawing up every single play for Jacoby Lane, say that he reminds him of Michael Thomas. And you know Michael Thomas, that man caught literally everything. And now his quarterback, the man who's going to be throwing him every ball that he catches this season, comparing him to D-Hop and OB man. Hey, the hype train is back. I mean, it didn't really leave. It died down just for like a couple of minutes and then we all right back on it. But again, it did not stop there because Marlon Humphrey, he also had some strong words about our third-round draft pick. >> To be completely honest, he's he a dog? >> He's a dog. He's He's probably had the best training camp of anybody on the team, to be honest. He kind of low-key has been like really hooping. Um He's very like very big-time catch radius. Um Couple times I've been guarding him like pretty tight and I just see Lamar look at me and I'm like Is he about to throw this? And then he just throws it and I'm like Why did he throw that over his head? And then I look up and the dude is catching it. I'm like, what the freak? So my dude's catch radius is pretty darn >> Yeah. >> It's pretty darn just darn. I mean, it's it's pretty >> How does that make you feel? From just a defensive >> Dude, I need to I need to dive on him. Like I just got to get used to I It's kind of like you're not really going to make those plays unless you're like live. Like you got to jump up there. We got to You got to come You got to jump up there with him. And like you're not really going to do that on your teammates. And then sometimes it's just like >> Yeah. >> I don't even know if I could have got up there with y'all on that one. >> That was That was his. >> Yeah, he he he's got some pretty He he he does uh I would say he's ever had probably the best Key Martin. He had a >> Good guy, bro. Good guy. >> He uh he had a pretty strong start. >> Yeah. >> Uh but if I just threw out all of camp, I would I would probably So yeah, to answer your question, low-key he'd be hooping. >> So we should expect to see some things from six. Uh there's a video clipped here. >> I think that we got a legit threat in that guy. >> That's good, bro. >> So Marlon Humphrey took it a step further than Lamar Jackson did because he said Jacoby Lane has probably had the best camp out of everybody. Like this man has nine and 10-year vets talking about him like he's been in the league for a long time and he ain't even taken a regular season snap yet. So Jacobi Lane has definitely had a significant impression on everybody. I like how Marlon Humphrey said like he'll be watching and covering Jacobi Lane and looking at Lamar Jackson like no Lamar ain't going to throw it but Lamar throws it anyway. That shows the trust that Lamar is continuing to build with Jacobi Lane. Oh, contested catch? Yeah, I'll give to Oh, jump ball? Oh, yeah, for sure. Jacobi Lane down there somewhere? Yeah, he got me and it's going to be nice to have Lamar have a wide receiver to where he can have that type of trust with. So now we made it to my favorite part of the videos and that's where we get to hear from you. Uh first off, let me start off by saying I hope you and your family are doing amazing. Second off, hey, appreciate that Deion. He said I love all you guys. Now let's get straight to it. Hey, what's up Unc and Them, keep it clean. This is a question that's been rattling around in my head since Zay Flowers signed his contract. Is it me or has anyone noticed that as of late every player that signs a big contract with the Ravens, they end up getting hurt right after. For instance, I I know this one doesn't count as much because he was a rookie but J.K. Dobbins. Once he came and signed his contract, instantly got hurt. And this is not in any particular order as far as them getting hurt. Uh it's just what I remember. Uh what about when Ronnie Stanley signed his contract and got hurt the next game against the Steelers? Then when Odafe Mafe signed his deal, didn't he get sidelined in week two? Well, Odafe Mafe signed his deal, it was like a year and a half before he got hurt. So I I I I don't think he counts. But what about Lamar Jackson? Lamar Jackson signed his deal in 2023, wins the MVP, then the following year, 2024, uh should have won another MVP, uh but then in 2025, the offensive line continues to get neglected, and yeah, then he got hurt. But it was not right after he signed his deal. So, I I don't really think it's anything to it. Anyway, he said, uh and here we are with Zay Flowers. Uh soon as he signed his contract, I don't think we have seen him practice on any other joint practice games or any OTAs since he signed his contract. And And Minter did say it's minor. He said, "And And we trust Minter now because with Nate Wiggins, he said, 'Oh, it ain't going to be nothing.' And this man got carted off. He got carted off the field. Jesse Minter said, 'Oh, no, he going to be straight.' What happened? He was back the next week. Marlon Humphrey, while covering Jacoby Jones, who we talked about earlier, he got hurt. Jesse Minter said, 'Nah, he going to be straight.' Boom, he was back. Zay Flowers, who he got hurt. He said he couldn't put any weight on his leg. He got to get helped off the field. Jesse Minter said, 'Hey, y'all boys, look, it's straight. He going to be all right. He going to be just fine. He's day-to-day.' This man came back, I think, two or three days later. And then unfortunately, on the flip side, too, with Danny Pinter, he ain't express optimism with that one. Uh but then he ended up being out for the year. So, we trust Jesse Minter when it comes to injuries. He has shown us like, 'Hey, I'm not just going to get up here and say anything. I'm not going to lead you one direction, but it's really the other. I'm going to tell you what it is.' So, shout out to him. But anyway, he said, "That's a bit suspicious, but I had to ask a question uh to get you guys' opinion on." Nah, you you good, man. You good. But I I don't think there's anything to it. All right, he said, "Love what you're doing with the channel. Continue to keep up the good work. I know it's been a while since I sent in the question. I'm recovering from surgery." Oh man, hope you're doing all right, though, my friend. He said, "And like John Harbaugh did with double agent 77, I'm out." Next questions came from my guy E-Man. He said, "Keep on doing what you're doing. I appreciate your hard work." Hey, I I you, man. Uh he said, "Uh you've been one of the best YouTubers. Don't ever let anyone discourage you." Oh, no, I I I appreciate that. Thank you, man. He said, "I have two questions for you. Do you think Harbaugh will win coach of the year?" I hope so, cuz that don't mean that we had an amazing season. He also said, "Number two, do you think Derrick Henry will break Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record?" No. Um, because I don't think that the Ravens are going to be running like I think they're going to be running for sure, but for him to break the record, ooh, man, like he he would really have to be putting in some work. And there's going to be more attention off of Derrick Henry this year, but there's still going to be a whole lot of attention on him. Uh, no, I I I would say no. I don't I don't think he's going to. And he also said, "Uh, I got five more questions here. What type of numbers do you think this offense will put up per game? Me personally, I think this team will average at least 40 points a game and at least almost 300 yards passing and almost 200 yards on the ground." Ooh, you. 40 If we averaging 40 points a game, we can mess around and go undefeated, man. 40 points a game and then with this defense, that would that would be 20 and 0, straight up, man. No exaggeration. No hype. No, just cuz we Raven fan, no purple shades up. 40 a 40 a game? If they like Ooh. I'mma I'mma say I'mma say 29 a game, but I'm I'm hoping I'll hope for 45. I want them to light it up. I want them to go crazy. But, yeah, I'mma say like 29. I'mma say 29, 30 a game. Hopefully much higher though. Anyway, he said, "Number two, how do you think the AFC will turn out once the playoffs start after the upcoming regular season is finished? Me personally, uh, the Ravens get the number one seed, Buffalo is the number two seed, the Chiefs uh, get the number three seed and the Texans get the four seed, the Chargers get the fifth and the Bengals get the sixth. I got the Denver Broncos getting the seven seed and then the division round, I got the Ravens versus the Bengals. I got the Ravens winning that game 40 to 32. In the AFC Championship game, I got the Ravens versus the Bills. I got the Ravens winning that game 35-28. So, ooh, some close ones. Some one-score games, some some stressful ones. Oh my goodness. Um, we'll see. I I I don't I don't know, man. Long as Ravens get in there and and they make some stuff happen, then that'll be good in my book. And he also said number three, do you find it odd that John Harbaugh took this long to get Daniel Faalele gone? Um and after just one preseason game, he ended up trading him. I Yeah. Yeah, but again, with the whole sabotage, with that whole conversation, that just made it look like what he did with the Ravens and with Lamar Jackson, it was blatant. Next question came from my guy Carter. He said, long time listening, but first time sending in a question. I'm only doing so because I'm genuinely concerned. No, no, no. You ain't got to make it sound put no negative connotation on sending in a question. Like, oh, I'm only doing this cuz just send in a question. We just We chilling, man. It's okay. Anyway, he said, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the starting offensive line. Obviously, we don't know exactly who the whole entire starting line is. Uh well, not necessarily. We know uh 80% of it, cuz we know Ronnie Stanley, Roger Rosengarten, Ben Cleveland, and John Simpson. But, at center, is it going to be Ja'Wuan James? Is it going to be um Ethan Pocic? Um so, yeah. That's That's the only question mark that we got now. And he said, I'm worried that we're going to have a lot of similar O-line play compared to last year. Oh, there's no way that it it comes close to last year. There's no way. There's no way at all. It it it cannot at at all. Um I know a lot of people freaking out cuz we haven't seen the starters yet. And when we have seen the O-line, it hasn't been the best. It hasn't been the worst, but it hasn't been the best. But, I I ain't tripping off of that right now. I I'm not. So, once the starters get back in there, I I think we'll be A-okay. And give them some time to to gel. Give them some time to click and whatnot. All right, he said, what do you think? Yeah, I I I I ain't tripping off of it right now. I wouldn't. Next question came from my guy Jarvo. He said, what's your thoughts on the whole NFL players can go back to college and get redrafted again situation? Um I I mean, I I think it it depends I think you got to you got to be drafted, then you got to like get cut, and then you got to clear waivers, and then I think you're eligible. So, I think it I think it's only for rookies, I believe. But, cool. Let Let them get another opportunity to keep playing in college. Let them like And they can walk around like the big man on campus. Say, for instance, they get drafted and things don't work out, then they come back. Like, "Hey, Y'ALL BOY, I'M BACK, BABY. Let's run it back." I And you know what? I'm a former NFL player, and I can run it back and get to the NFL again. So, that gives them a chance to go and do even better and get redrafted. So, hey, more power to them. And And let them get their bread, too. He said, "With this defense showcasing throughout the preseason, is just preseason Is it just preseason dominance, or do we actually have depth on defense?" Oh, I think we certainly have some nice depth. Uh y'all also said, "Uh if I don't ask it, then another subscriber will. With one final preseason game remaining, it's time for you to make your 53-man roster." >> [laughter] >> That would have to be an entire video, cuz ain't no way we're doing no question with no 53-man Like, that Yeah, that'd be too much. But, we'll try. I can't make no promises, but we'll try. Anyway, he said, "Lots of players we are beginning to like, but we know someone will not make the team." That's true. He said, "Even Zimmer said decisions will be tough, so what's your roster prediction going into the season?" He does have some tough decisions to make. Guys like Joe Fennell, guys like Ethan Burke, guys like the linebacker DeLuca. So, yeah, and even the secondary. Like, Keion Jackson, Keion Martin, Robert Longabaugh, Luqman Abdullah. Like, it's He got some tough tough tough decisions to make, for sure. He said, "Is it safe to say that John messed up Faalele's career? Faalele has been a right tackle his whole college career in Minnesota, but John moved him at the guard position, and now the whole league considers him a guard instead of a right tackle." Um did he mess up his career? No. He changed it. He ain't mess it up, though. Because Faalele uh he was with the Ravens for 4 years. Um he got signed as a free agent to the playing. He's still in the league. Can't be Career can't be too in the league. Can't be career can't be too bad. So, yeah. He said, "John has done this to multiple players we had drafted, but I believe if we or another team try him back at his natural position, he might do better." I can see that. I do think that's a really good point though. Yeah, trying him out out at tackle. But, then he'll be on a little island. So, that that could be even more tough. But, yeah. I I I would I wouldn't mind if they I mean, I don't care, but I would like to see them try that. That if but the I wonder if the Jaguars even considering that like at all. Cuz you know, they they got a whole other thing with position changing too. With having players play both sides, but I don't I don't think Travis Etienne is doing that this year. I think they're shutting that down. But, anyway, he said, "Which week do you think Nnamdi will play?" Oh. Based off of right here, right now, and last time I said this like we literally got a status update with Nnamdi Okoye the very next day. Um, but based off of right here, right now, I would think that Nnamdi will play I'm going to say week two. Week two or week three right now. Uh, and he said, "I saw the white [clears throat] noise jerseys, but wish we had white helmets to go with them. How do you feel about our offensive line?" Uh, like we got to see the starters out there to really form any judgment. He said, "My last question for you today is a question that was asked during the Ravens practice, and that question is, do you think there are more wheels or doors in the world?" Oh. I did see a little clip of that. I don't know. I'm going to go with wheels. He said, "Oh, and Ro said we're going to see the best version of him this year. Let's see what that looks like." I want to see that. We We all want to see that because the best version of Roquan Smith is the version we saw in week two against the Browns last year. That's the version we want to see every single week. He said, "Man, when I saw number 35 on the field in that preseason game, I thought we signed Gus the Bus, and I didn't get no notification on it." Nah, come on. You know, you know we would have talked about that. But, yeah, he he was looking like Gus the Bus for real. He said, "Ethan Burke's a beast, and I think we found our QB3. Ethan might take a decent Isaac spot." There you go. Yep, that's true. He He said, "Mike Green played well, and our defense has played lights out in both games. If the If the tight ends are getting open like this, maybe Mark might have a big year. With the Bateman situation, do we wait and see what happens? Boom, you said it yourself. You always got to do that. But he said, do we wait and see what happens or trade for a receiver, perhaps get one in free agency? So, yeah. The first part was waiting to see what happens. So, you you already had it, man. Um and he said, uh we definitely should have went for Stefon Diggs. Oh, it's okay. He right down the street. So, Ravens got to see him this week up close and personal. Next question came from my guy Ryan. He said, loving the defensive consistency. What's up, my brother? Hope you and the family are doing well. Hey, appreciate you, Ryan. He said, "One of the most encouraging things that I'm noticing this year is defense is the level of consistency. They seem to have taken a page from the Engravin Consistency playbook. Hold up. That ain't no playbook for me, man. You somebody else. Uh but he said, "They properly prepare, they show up, they make no excuses, and they deliver. On most plays, it seems as though everyone is in position and always close to the ball." That's true. And you don't see a bunch of looking around. You don't see a bunch of You don't You don't be seeing that. And that's crazy, man. I just and I I I keep saying it over and over, but it it sticks out to me because this is a first-year head coach. Like, this is not even just a first This is not even a the Ravens just getting a new head coach. Like, say for instance, a coach that's been a head coach before somewhere else. This is somebody that's head coach for the first time. And and he's like, we don't be seeing all the confusion and stuff. That's crazy, man. Anyway, he said, "Uh we are not giving up any big plays, well, very few. We did give up that the big one that Walters gave up. Um but we ended up stopping them on fourth down." Uh but he said, "We're not giving up any big plays, and all 11 are playing with a level of controlled and confident aggression. We are not just flying around, but we are flying around with a purpose. All eyes seem to be in the right place, and the communication is on point." Perfectly said. Perfectly said. Excuse me. He said, "In my opinion, this is a clear indication of communication clarity and preparation from this new coaching staff. No matter who's on the field, the play remains consistent. We actually look like the same team regardless of the mix of talent on the field. That's what an effective scheme is supposed to look like." >> [clears throat] >> You like >> [cough] >> You saying it so perfectly. Like I can't even respond. I'm over here coughing and whatnot because everything that you're saying like it is it feel like it's smoke coming from the phone or something cuz this is heat. For real, man. That's why I'm coughing so much right now. Anyway, he said, "It should translate to production, not a bunch of hype and lip service." Oh man, this guy he he got it, man. He said, "Based on past year's experience, this feels like a major step in the right direction. What do you think?" Oh, yeah, I I agree with literally everything that you said. Because like you said, these even for the the depth guys to be on point like this, that says a whole lot. Next question came from my guy Chazz. He said, "If we get thin at linebacker, should the Ravens go after Terrell Edmunds and put him in a box and a Sam hybrid safety/linebacker?" Well, they already signed [snorts] another They signed two linebackers, actually. One I think I want to say Jaron Johnson and the other is the one that used to play for Jesse Minter. Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry that his name is slipping my mind. I was just looking at him a couple hours ago. But he said he's lost a step as far as a full-time safety, but he's aggressive and can hit hard and I want us to have more grit on our team. What do you think? And I'm out." Oh, that's the one that used to play for the Bills, I think. Terrell Edmunds. And he's got a brother that had played for the Steelers. And I think yeah, I think that's him. That played for the Bills. And he he was nice. I liked him. I I I liked him, but yeah. No, the Ravens um as as far as what you said, "I want us to have more grit on our team." Jesse Minter, it seems like he's really going to be bringing that out of them. Next question came from my guy Thomas. He said, "Why can't we speak the truth about the Ravens and John Harbaugh as head coach, about the NFL way of treating strong and vocal players? Let Lamar as he spoke, 'They're going to get a Super Bowl out of me.' The NFL spoke at Lamar and not being supportive of his rights due to him not choosing to have an agent and follow the protocol. Now, the owners knew that this may cause a reduction of money snatching negotiating contracts and that uh components will lose value in life and more players can be saving what they earn for their skills and not give 10% or more away to someone who didn't take any lumps and bumps in the progress. That's true. He went against the grain and the NFL said, "Oh, we're going to go against you." And just yeah, we we we've seen it with the whole the the collusion and all that with when it came to contract time. Um and just the way that a lot of not everybody, but a lot of people especially media, the way they talk about Lamar Jackson. It's unfortunate, but uh and it sucks that that we got to say, "Oh, he's used to it by now. We're all used to it by now. So, it is what it is." It shouldn't be that, but that's that's what it is and like I said, it's unfortunate, man. Next question came from my guy Ryan. He said, "Bateman for Tank Dell." Oh, this must have came out like he must have sent this right when everything started popping off with Anyway, he said, "Yo, Engraven. I just wanted to get your thoughts on possibly trading Bateman for Tank Dell. I know all this news just came out about the Texans being interested in him and also about him getting arrested back in June." See Oh, see right there. Say for instance, if that that would have been the Texans not accomplishing anything because they wanted to replace Jayden Higgins. If they would have traded Tank Dell to the Ravens, then they would have lost him and gained a receiver. So, they they would have broke even. So, that that wouldn't make any sense for them. So, that that would have been null and void even before it got started. Anyway, he said, "This might not even be relevant by the time you're reading this uh because all the news is not even out yet." Oh, yeah. And things change very very quickly with that. But anyway, it's it's all good. He said, um but before I just want to say I am a big Bateman and I think the Ravens should only do this if they think he's going to get suspended for a good chunk of the season. But then like that Oh, that would be a nasty game. If they found out Bateman was going to get suspended, they say, "All right, we going to trade you to the Texans." Then the Texans get a receiver, "Oh, we got Bateman." Then he got suspended. Oh, man. But, it ain't looking like he's going to get suspended. But, anyway, he said, "I always love T Dale, even when he was in college. He is on the last year of his contract and he's really good wide receiver, too. In his first year, he had 709 yards with seven touchdowns and was having a good sophomore year before he suffered that really bad knee injury. But, he is moving super well and looks really, really good. And even though I'm from Cali, I love all Florida Ravens and it would not hurt to add another L Hill." Yeah, that would um it it it for for both teams, really. Like, they would be swapping receivers, but like yeah, it it just it wouldn't do any It would have It wouldn't really move anything. More so for them because again, they're looking for even more. Ravens right now are not. So, they would be I mean, T Dale would be nice, but yeah, no. He said, "I feel like Zay, Dale, and Jacoby would all really complement each other well. Two quick, really good route runners in Zay and Dale, and a big body jump guy in Jacoby." Well, that That's what we got with with Rashod Bateman and Zay already. Two really good route runners and a big jump ball guy. He said again, "This is only if they think Bateman is going to get suspended. Let me know your thoughts and I appreciate everything you do for us. I know you're not going to like this, but I don't care. You are the goat." Oh, I see. He had a little typo in the in the end. He meant to put donkey. But, it's okay. It's okay.
