RAVENS DESPERATELY NEED SOMEONE TO STEP UP…AND IT’S TIME FOR THIS WEAPON TO FINALLY BREAK OUT!

With the Ravens officially placing Jacobe Lane on in reserve and Zflower was missing yesterday's practice. So many Baltimore fans are wondering who is going to step up for this team at wide receiver. Names like Tez Walker have been thrown around and he missed last week's game due to a groin injury, but he said that he is now 100% and ready to go. Elijah Sarat, he is somebody who coach Mentor said could get more of an opportunity, but he is also just a rookie. So that's a lot of pressure on him. And then you got guys like Leonte Wester and Chris Moore who do a lot on special teams, but they could figure to have a bigger role on offense. But then there's one name that continues to have every single Baltimore Ravens fan talking, and that is former 2021 first round pick Rashad Baitman. And we know last week his stats, they didn't tell the full story of his contribution to the game because the only catch that he had, it got taken away due to a penalty, unfortunately. and he didn't log any catches whatsoever. But when you look at the film, when you look at a lot of the Ravens big plays from last week, you saw number seven out there blocking his behind off. Now, of course, as a wide receiver, you don't want your biggest plays and your biggest contributions to the offense to be you blocking because you want to make plays. You want to make catches. You want to make touchdowns. And we know Rashad Baitman, he knows all that's going to come eventually. But here was his thoughts on the matter. He said that he can't be worried about his stats. He's more worried about helping this Baltimore Ravens team win a Super Bowl. So, you see, that's such a great mindset to have, especially for somebody like Rashad Baitman, because the stats, they haven't been there. And he's been with this team since 2021. And of course, 2024, that was his breakout year where it was like, okay, Rashad Baitman, he has finally arrived. But then the followup to that, it was very, very lackluster. But every time I have a conversation with somebody about Bait, I always tell them it it's very hard to judge Rashad Baitman based off of his stats alone. Because what can you do if you don't get the opportunities, if you don't get the targets? If you don't get the passes thrown your way, there's only so much a wide receiver can do. So now with this week with Jacobe Lane again officially being out, he'll be out for at least the next four games. Now Declan Doyle has a real opportunity. him, Lamar Jackson to where they can game plan and really get Rashad Baitman going. And this will set up the Ravens so nice, not only for the game against the Saints, but really just moving forward in the season, even when Zay Flowers comes back, even when Jacobe Lane comes back with TZ Walking, the rest of the receivers being out there. If you can get Rashad Baitman going early, then that can help his confidence. that can help Lamar Jackson's confidence in him to give him those opportunities and that can just really help this offense out as a whole. But let's listen to what Lamar Jackson had to say about Rashad Baitman specifically from the game last week and moving forward. >> Guys, do you have to make a plan of this to get him more involved or just let the game develop? Um, I feel like great, uh, Bait played great, you know, besides him not getting the ball, you know, cuz he was blocking down the field, >> helping guys score touchdowns, you know, uh, he took one of his catches back, um, and one I wish I can get back to him, but uh, some sometimes in, you know, certain games might not get any targets, but you can help your team win different uh, different areas and stuff like that. But that's been happening throughout the whole career, you know, not just him, but say, you know, other receivers, it'll be some games those guys don't get the ball, you know, but they end up helping us win. So, I don't I don't believe we looking at it like that, you know. Um, he's one of those ones for us for sure. Lamar, >> so Lamar Jackson talked about it with how a lot of wide receivers careers can go to where they may have some games, some stretches where they don't have a catch, they don't have a target, they don't have any statistical input on the game, but they can still help the team win in so many different ways. And that's exactly what Rashad Baitman did uh this past Sunday. But he also spoke that, hey, Rashad Baitman's time is going to come, his opportunities are going to come, and I could definitely see that happening this week for sure. So, I ain't tripping off of Rashad Baitman right now. I ain't tripping that last week he didn't get a single catch because with Declan Doyle, I just got all the confidence in the world that he is going to figure this thing out and find a way to make number seven go off. He said, "That first game gave us plenty to talk about. Winning 41 to 23 in Indie was a great way to begin the Jesse Mentor era. Lamar looked extremely comfortable in the new offense." Yeah, that's something that I ain't talk about enough. He did look very, very comfortable in the new a brand new offense. Brand new offense. He looked like he been running it for years, man. So, that's big point. Anyway, he said, uh, throwing for 324 yards. Derrick Henry ran for 144 yards and three touchdowns and Zay went crazy with a career-high 150 yards before the hamstring injury. We finished with 56 total yards while the defense settled down after the opening drive and forced two turnovers. My biggest concern was the lack of discipline. 10 penalties for 86 yards could hurt us against a stronger opponent and the injuries to Zay and Jacobe Lane definitely made that dominant win feel a little bittersweet for sure. and some of them penalties. It was like really man I I almost did did the Colts did the Vegas give a call to the refs and say hey these Colts that anyway let's continue he said also saw that Carolina wave Jimmy Horn Jr. He muffed a punt in week one, so I understand why some fans might not want him. He's still he's young, extremely fast, and has potential as a developmental wide receiver. With the injuries in all receiver room, would you bring him in for a workout and possibly stash him on a practice squad, or do you think Baltimore should stay away? Keep up the great work, team. Keep it clean. I'll bring him in, but what's what's the worst that could happen? So, I I would bring him in. Like, why not? Yeah, that man does have some electrifying speed. And then I'm sure Leonte West, he probably put in a word, too, with them both being buffs. Anyway, he said, "PS, I don't know how to work Patreon, and I'm not techsavvy." Hey, neither am I. Y'all been seeing the issues that we've been having with our with our camera, like our camera, our regular camera that we use for the videos. That's why the the videos are not the the quality on them recently has not been the best. This past like two to three videos, the quality is like, "Oh my goodness, it's so frustrating. It's so annoying for me." Um, but our regular camera has not been working. It's having issues. So, it's been driving me crazy insane. And something I was thinking about the other day, yesterday actually, while I was just driving around uh and I was driving around in silence because the radio in our car, it don't work. It's like the car is having electrical problems. So yeah. Anyway, um so I actually ride around now with a little portable speaker that I put in the car. Um and I just hook it up to my phone if I want to listen to music, listen to YouTube, whatever. I got to do it that way because again, the the car is having electrical problems. It's weird. Anyway, um another story, but I was riding around and I was just looking at people cuz I riding in silence and I'm like, man, like everybody just trying to make it. Everybody just trying to make it. Um and I feel like if we look at people like that, then that'll help us just have a better appreciation for people and what a lot of people are going through, cuz we don't know what a lot of people are going through. We don't know what a lot of people are dealing with. Um we don't know what their struggles are. Uh, so it just I I I was just thinking about that, man. And um, yeah, man. This this I know this it ain't necessarily have anything to do with what you said in the the experience you shared, but it just reminded me of that. And I just um I I I appreciate you sharing that because that that that is something that you went through and I I would have never known um I would have never known about that experience. I would have never known that you went through something like that. Um, but I appreciate you sharing uh the positive uh from it. The positive that the channel brought for you uh and your pops, man. He said, "Angraven, we came, we played, we conquered the Colts. What a great win." It certainly was, man. He said, "Lamar Jackson is by far the best quarterback in the league. However, I feel like the ability Lamar has to extend plays is a gift and a curse because the plays that Lamar extends would have ended in a sack elsewhere. And so, the coaching staff would have been under extreme pressure to make replacements and adjustments to the offensive line. But because Lamar often picks up yards or at least gets to the line of scrimmage, getting the O line fixed may not seem like it is the squeakiest wheel in their eyes. What do you think? He said, "Keep up the great work and I love your broadcast." Yeah, I appreciate you solid people. Thank you, man. And yeah, this is something that um is it is an unfortunate truth. Uh but we're hoping that like this year and again last week last week was a bit rough sometimes, but they did have a lot of good with the offensive line as well. We're hoping that moving forward like they only get better cuz again last week was their first game together and they were going to get they them Colts is tough, man. Colts are tough team. Like I hope they upset the Chiefs. Uh well, I don't know if it's Sunday night or Monday night or whenever they play the Chiefs. I hope they upset them because I, you know, I can't stand the Chief. Anyway, um Colts are tough. Uh so not only was it the Ravens offensive line first time playing together, but they were going against a good defensive line. Um so they they'll jail. They they'll have time. But I'm hope hoping, especially with a move like hiring Dwayne Leadford, who is known as one of the better offensive line coaches in the NFL. Um, I think that investment right there, uh, them investing a first round draft pick and VGA Yawwan. Uh, I know at center, they ain't really spend too much money, but hopefully Javon Gwin, he can get it cuz again, that last last week was his first start. That's something that's crazy, too. I ain't even think about that all week last week. That's his first start. So, this offensive line definitely got to do some jelling. But, let's see how they progress as the season goes along. Now, I get what you're saying. like since Lamar been here. Ravens with offensive line a lot of times they've been like, "Ah, yeah, whatever. We got Lamar. He he'll fix it. He'll be all right." But hopefully now um since we got a new coach, that new coach will implement just a new thinking, a new mindset when it comes to the offensive line for the Baltimore Ravens. You saw the team keep it clean patrons just taking this episode over. Next question came from another patron, my guy Omar. He said, "Hey, Raven. Hope all is well with you and the family." I I appreciate you, Omar. He said, "Let's celebrate the win. One of the things that impressed me most about Lamar Jackson in week one was his ability to lead the Ravens offense while adjusting to a new head coach, a new offensive coordinator in a completely different system. The Ravens scored 41 points the most in week one by any team with both a new head coach and offensive coordinator. Oh, I didn't know that. I didn't realize that. That's great. And you know, I I ain't think about that enough. Like all this is new. Like yeah, that's such a good point. And they score 41 points. Ain't no points come on defense. All of that came on offense. Obviously, Tyler Loop contributed with six points. So, this Ravens offense, they put Tyler Loop in position to get those those two field goals, but they scored 41 points. That's crazy. It really is crazy. Brand new offense. 41 points first game. They played no preseason. That's crazy. They ain't played no preeason. 41 points first game. And offensive line wasn't even all the way there yet. We lost Just wait, man. This offense got to be something serious, man. They really are. That is such a crazy, man. Let's keep going, though. He said, "I used to believe the best part of Lamar's game was his field vision, but I'm starting to think it might be his overall football intelligence, his ability to process information, adjust, and consistently operate at a high level regardless of the system." I love that you said that. More people need to hear that. I I I really hope that this particular part of the video, it reaches the right people who need to hear that. And I'm sure for anybody that's watching, uh, it's a good reminder because you hear so much stuff and throughout the years, you heard so much stuff about Lamar Jackson. Oh, he can only run this type of system. Oh, he can only run that type of offense. Oh, if it's that kind of offense, he ain't going to be able to do it. And it's just all garbage. It's so much garbage that gets put out there about Lamar Jackson on a daily. on a daily. Not even a weekly, not even a monthly, annually, on a daily. There's so many people that just say crazy. Like even Dan Oloki recently, I know there's been clips going around cuz Ravens Ravens Twitter, they don't make them mad. Don't say some nonsense cuz Daniel recently said, "Oh, Josh Allen is the only quarterback that could that could beat up the the Texans defense like that." He's the only quarterback that I've seen that could really take it to Deco Ryan and his Texans defense like that. He said that with a straight face while Lamar Jackson is still playing in the NFL. And Lamar Jackson whenever he's played the Texans, he has like really whooped them Texans, man. Like really with Deco Ryan as their coach. So Dana Vloski just he just saying stuff. Uh but anyway, he said uh my question to you is uh what aspect of Lamar's game impresses you the most and do you believe his football intelligence is sometimes overlooked because of his extraordinary athletic ability? Oh, that second part. Yes. Yes. Because so many people get so amazed from everything that he can do that they forget it all starts up here. Everything starts up here. Uh he said as always, I appreciate your insight, my brother. No, no, I appreciate you and thank you for bringing this out. But the aspect of Lamar Jackson's game that impresses me the most. Um I think it's well I I don't even know it's it's so many different things. One of them is his pocket awareness, his pocket presence because like my guy Solid People was talking about in the last question um with how hey sometimes the Ravens been like oh whatever for the offensive line because Lamar Jackson's ability but that lack of creating the best offensive line that they could for Lamar Jackson. It has shown us how aware he is in the pocket. like pressure could be coming from anywhere and Lamar Jackson, it's like he got spidey senses or something. It's one of the craziest things to watch, man. It it really really is just we see him breaks, we see him evade defenders, we see him do all this crazy stuff because the offensive line breaks down, so he has no choice but to um but his his pocket awareness is insane. And I also think his anticipation um just his ability to adjust his throw to make the play happen cuz he don't throw every single ball the same. Sometimes he do the little sidearm and he been doing that from rookie year. From rookie year he been doing that little sidearm throw. He don't do it all the time but if he needs to he will like I've seen this man like curve the ball around a defense. It is it's it's crazy man. So that's something else. Um, I feel like Lamar's his arm strength is extremely under We getting off topic now. But yeah, so I'm I'm going to say his pocket presence. I be trying to do a better job of staying on topic, but I'll be going off on rants. Y'all know how it goes. We all family, so it is what it is. Anyway, next question came from another team. Keep it clean patron, my guy 314 KT. He said, "What's up, Engraving Man? Listen, so I know you already know, and this probably got to be the topic of today's episode, but we got a wide receiver from the Browns, uh, Gage. I don't want to try to spell out his last name, but let me tell you, I didn't know who he was like if not a Raven or making his mark on other teams like Odell, Devonte Smith or Adams, just just for example. But I wouldn't know some of these players and so I just watch his highlights and it was given a Z. Let me live guys. Oh, so he saying it was giving a Z flowers. He said, "Let me live guys." It's just a slight comparison. I promise I won't compare nobody else to Zay. Lol. But Zay with the quick reactions off the catch. But a player that gets locked down immediately. I think he can just give us some yards. But he is okay for just until my guys come back. Side note, Ravens have not missed a beat. Uh you uploaded a video about the injury up the injury updates and hours later Gage is signed. Jesse Jesse is mentor's burner. That's funny. and he talking about I think he talking about the uh the team keeper clean the new one of the newest team keeping it clean patrons uh from yesterday's episode which was Jesse um and I said I thought I think it's Jesse Mena could be Jesse Mentor who who knows who knows we'll have to wait till he sent in a question and he give us some insight as to what's going to happen and what he's going to show us in a upcoming game but anyway um for Gage uh Lavdan for him I think he could potentially be somebody who could be a returner for the Ravens and he just I I think he's just backup until the guys get back like a Z Flowers, like a Jacobe Lane, but more so I think with everybody moving up a spot on the depth chart like a Leonte West, Leonte West could potentially get more snaps on offense. So, if he's getting more snaps on offense, then I think they just want to be safe to where they don't want to wear him thin to where he's a punt returner, he's a kick returner, he's on offense, too. And I'm sure he would love to do all those things and he probably will continue to do all those things, but just to have somebody else who could spell him at return so he ain't got to be exhausted. That's what I think this move was really about. You're not going to believe this. But the next question came from a team keep it clean patron my guy Roger. He said one and0 starts. Next up, Saints. They are looking good so far. Yeah, that boy shook. We got to make sure the Ravens defense have him shook though. Anyway, he said the reason why they have that fullback in motion is the to confuse the defense. Uh, wherever he stops, he will block there for the running back. And also, if someone follows, it could show that they are in man coverage. Okay, I got you. So, I think that his he's responding to an inquiry, an observation that I had about the Ravens offense to where I see a lot of times the uh the tight end would be in motion and I be like, man, like a lot of times it will look like the tight end, like Lamar's getting ready to run into the tight end or the tight end was getting ready to run into the running back. It just looked like things were about to collide. They never did, not a single time and it didn't come close to, but it it just kept looking like it. And whenever they would snap the ball, I would be thinking, "Oh my goodness, is this." But everything would go smoothly. So it's like, "Hey, they got it. Declan Doyle, you you got it. My fault. I'm over here not doubting you, but I was a little concerned like, man, are they going to run into each other?" But they had it. So yeah, I mean that makes sense when when you motion somebody to see what the uh what the defense is in, whether they in man or in zone. But just the way that the Titans were moving pre- snap, it just it it was confusing me a lot. Next question came from another team keep it clean patron now. He said uh this came from my guy Jesse. He said we were just talking about you just a couple questions ago. Anyway, he said, "Hey, engraven. How you doing, man? This is my first question. I just became a paid member, but hope your family is doing well." I I seriously do appreciate that, Jesse. Thank you, man. Thank you very very much. He said, "Um, so I sent this question in while watching the Ravens versus the Colts in the second quarter. This defense is looking really good, as well as Z Flowers. I think he might be top five in reception this season and Lamar's MV3 season, or should I say MV4. Oh man, that is so crazy, man. They they really just donated that to Josh Allen, man. And they even talked about it too like especially and how is Lamar Jackson how was he first team all pro like not forget the pro bowl first team allp pro allp pro but wasn't the anyway continuing he said the old line is kind of iffy with the flags but I hope they improve what are your thoughts on this first game and I'm I'm so excited for this season oh appreciate it Jesse yeah I mean spot on I mean the defense they did have some shaky moments and there was one moment where they got put in a really bad position once Lamar got sacked and fumbled and the coach recovered in our territory. But other than that, the defense is looking they look good overall. And again, that's their first game playing together. First game playing together. So, they're going to have more time to jail. Now, not not just cuz they start playing together more, we going to just be locking everybody down. I mean, I hope so. But, you know, like there's some tough teams that we got to play. though. But for for for all of that to be that first game, the offensive line, the offense, the defense, just for that to be that first game, I would say that was just really an amazing performance. We didn't blow the lead. Next question came from my guy Tyler. He said, "I engraven the man." Not I'm a man. I'm not the man though. That's all you Ty. He said, "It wasn't perfect, but man, it wasn't good. It was a good win to start the season." Uh Lamar's going to win the MVP. Derek is going to rush for 2,000 yards. The defense is going to get back to the glory days of Baltimore defense and we are going to win the Super Bowl. I love that. He didn't say I hope this happens or maybe this might happen or h this could is a possibility. No, he said all that stuff is going to happen. I love that confidence. He said now I know it's only week one and we beat a far inferior team. I have a particular pleasure in dunking on the Colts because my brother-in-law is a Colts fan. Oh. Oh, that was personal for you then. He said, "And there are definitely things that need to get cleaned up. Penalties in particular." Bingo. He said, "But I am particularly encouraged with the result from the game because we didn't blow the lead in the second half. Going into the second half, it felt like the perfect storm for another second half blown lead. No Z, no Jacobe in the second half, penalty problems. Starting off the second half with a three and out and not scoring in the third quarter, the anxiety monster started showing his ugly head and flashbacks of week one last year were running rampid in my head." Despite that, we finished the game strong and still won in what I would say in this dominating fashion. You said it. You said it. It's funny. I was talking to my guy uh Yap Matt Matt King. Uh he be doing this thing on Tik Tok uh YouTube too, Instagram as well. Um but he was saying that we were talking about the Derrick Henry the the the rushing touchdown. I think it was his third touchdown where Derrick Henry was waving off to the fans. It was I think it was in the fourth quarter too. He's waving the fans off but he said that he got a little a little nervous because that's what Zay Flowers did last year in week one against the Bills and we saw how that game went. Yeah, we we got to chill out with the waving like let's wait till the score is a little more far away than it was. But anyway, uh he said there's there are definitely some areas we need to get cleaned up and we need to stay healthy, but the boys look real good and this particular Ravens fan is already getting his plans for a crab cake and Nattybo celebration in February.
