Quietly GOOD Makeup Everyone Is Sleeping On… Chantecaille Lion, Drunk Elephant Foundation Drops?!
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The video features a beauty enthusiast testing several highly anticipated makeup launches, with a primary focus on the new limited-edition Lion collection from Shantae Kai and innovative drops from Drunk Elephant. The creator begins by addressing her morning routine and excitement for trying these new products, noting that recent Sephora releases have been overwhelming. She starts her review with the Wise Beauty moisturizer, which recently rebranded; despite its luxurious reputation and high price point of $68, she finds the packaging impractical due to a difficult-to-use pump mechanism. While the texture feels rich and hydrating on the skin, providing a lovely glow without feeling heavy, she questions whether the product justifies its steep cost given the frustrating application method.
Next, she evaluates the Revie Beauty eyebrow gel and the Drunk Elephant Camo Triple Peptide Multi-Use Serum Foundation. The brow gel is described as lightweight and non-flaky but lacks the strong hold required for her full makeup days, though it works well for natural looks. Her main highlight of the segment is the Drunk Elephant foundation drop, which she praises for its clever formulation that allows users to mix it with moisturizer for a tinted effect or apply it directly for light-to-medium coverage. Although she notes some oxidation and that the shade selection runs deep, she ultimately loves how the product melts into the skin, offering an airy, second-skin finish that is particularly suitable for dry skin types.
The core of the video is dedicated to the Shantae Kai Lion collection, which the creator admits is expensive but delivers exceptional quality. She reviews a warm pink blush called "Lion Pride," praising its pigmentation and ability to create a natural flush, even though the packaging is standard rather than special. The standout items are undoubtedly the single eyeshadows, specifically the rose shimmering sand shade "Senke" and the deep chocolate "Marty." These shadows are lauded for their versatility; they can be applied sheerly as crease colors or built up to full opacity, offering incredible value despite the high price tag. She also tests a metallic cranberry eyeliner and two lip gels, concluding that while the eyeshades are the clear winners of the collection, the entire line successfully captures the essence of the fall season with warm, rich tones perfect for transitioning into colder weather.

Oh, I got to get some makeup on. I may
be prepared. I'm going to be crying and
complaining in all my videos because now
I film first thing in the morning, early
in the morning. And my baby [laughter]
did not have a good night last night.
Oo, well, she did have a good night
actually playing. Her mother and father
did not have a good night last night.
So, I cannot wait to get some products
in my face. Another new testing video.
But you guys are seeing what I'm seeing.
The launches are [laughter] E E they're
crazy. So today's focus I've been
wanting to try like I've been salivating
to try the new Lion collection from
Shanakai. But it's just been Sephora
drop after Sephora drop. So I'm focusing
on that today. But of course I have some
Sephora items I might as well try today.
Like the new Wise Beauty moisturizer.
And this I've seen nobody talk about,
but I actually think it's kind of
genius. Drunk Elephant launched cover
drops. It's real cool. We'll talk about
it. I have the new Revie Beauty eyebrow
gel. You know, I'm very picky with
eyebrow gels, so we will see. But those
are the main focuses today. If this
sounds interesting, just keep on
watching.
[music]
This product intrigued me, which is why
I'm testing it today. This is from Wise
Beauty, which they just changed their
name. It's still Wise Beauty, but they
changed the spelling and added this Y.
It used to be just Y, but nobody was
saying it right. But Wise Beauty is a
very pricey, luxurious brand. And their
packaging normally speaks for that, but
I don't like this packaging for $68.
But their products are very good. Now,
this is supposed to be like a doit all
kind of moisturizer. It's supposed to
give that grip for makeup, but it's
still supposed to feel lightweight and
breathable, be very hydrating, glassy,
just it's supposed to double up as skin
care and makeup prep. When I was reading
about this product, they were saying
$68, guys. $68. Where's the product?
Just when I think I got it. Still not
here. Oh my gosh. $68.
Where is this product? My fingers are
getting tired. Okay, while I'm doing
this, when I was reading about the
product, the owner behind the brand, I
believe, is a makeup artist, and she was
saying like there was all these makeup
artists had different moisturizers and
primers for different steps and
different needs. And she wanted to
create a moisturizer primer that kind of
was for everybody, did everything. So,
you'd only need to pack one moisturizer.
Um, came out. Okay. Just got all over
me, but it came out. Be prepared to get
a little bit of a finger exercise doing
this.
>> Nope.
>> Oh my god. Oh my god. This packaging is
so stupid. This is $68. [clears throat]
What the heck?
This product better be good.
Wo. Okay. It says it's like grippy but
not sticky. It kind of feels thick.
And I am going to put on my SPF after
this. I just wanted to try this. See how
it was right before makeup.
It is thick. You know what? It does feel
very rich. That's the word I'm looking
for. Rich.
Honestly, it feels really nice. H.
It's not even grippy at all. It's just a
rich feeling moisturizer, but it feels
really, really lovely on the skin. It
does give a nice glow. I like the way
this feels. I don't know with this
packaging if it's worth $68, but it
feels rich, but not heavy, if that makes
sense. Um, and it feels like it's going
to moisturize very nicely. Now,
obviously with skincare, it's going to
take more than one use, but I do like
how this feels. Now, Revie Beauty just
launched a new eyebrow gel, so I thought
I'd try it. This is the Easy Everyday
Brow Gel. Now, this is supposed to keep
your brows in place without being flaky
or crunchy, and it's supposed to feel
lightweight in the brows, which I don't
mind a little crunch. So, we'll see if
this is enough. Plus, my brows, they
kind of like throughout the day. So, I'm
a picky candidate. Okay, so it's one of
those where it has the smaller spikes
and the longer spikes. Made in South
Korea, so they know what they're doing
with the brows here. So, I'm just
running that product through the brows.
I tend to prefer the
smaller spiky side, but I don't love
these applicators so much for my
eyebrows anymore. I did used to like
them, but I just like a spoolie, a fiber
spoolie. I think it guides my hairs a
little bit better. I don't feel like
this plastic one does as good of a job.
So, this is feeling lighter weight in my
brows. I'm going to assume if you like a
lighter weight brow option, this is
going to be a good one for you. This is
$24.
But, you know, for me, that really is my
one and only eyebrow gel that I love. my
Rare Beauty. So, I'm using the smaller
spikes to brush it out. And then I'm
using the flat side here.
Just kind of push the hairs down. But
this is not strong enough for me. If you
require a strong brow brow gel,
this one's definitely on the softer
side. Let's see how it dries, though.
But my brows are kind of drooping a
little bit. It's not bad at all. I could
probably enjoy this on like a natural
day where I don't want too much shape,
just a little way of grooming,
but like if I'm wearing full makeup,
this one is a little too soft for me.
So, I'm going to let that dry and we'll
move on to the foundation, which I have
not heard a lot of people talk about,
but I thought the concept of this was so
interesting, very clever, and it's from
Drunk Elephant. So, they are dabbling
here in color cosmetics and they've
launched the camo triple peptide
multi-use serum foundation. I see they
already have a few shades sold out
actually. And this is a multi-use
complexion drop. And I think it's so
clever of them because [clears throat]
you know that they are known for their
drop products, the bronze drops, the
blush drops, the glow drops. So, I don't
know how I didn't see this coming, but
it makes full sense to do like a
foundation drop. So, this is formulated
to be mixed just like their regular
drops with their proteini polyeptide
cream. You can mix it with any
moisturizer, but um it's nice because
you just push the product out. Mix the
drops with the moisturizer and it can
give you kind of like a tinted
moisturizer, lighter coverage effect. I
don't love this moisturizer. I think it
breaks me out, so I'm not going to use
it. Plus, my skin is so hydrated today.
So, I'm just going to use the drops on
my face. It's supposed to give more
coverage when you use it this way. So,
it's totally appropriate to use it the
way that I'm going to. But if you like
lighter coverage, it is formulated to be
mixed with this, which I think is so so
clever of them. Not enough excitement
about this product. I really am. So, I'm
just going to clean any brow residue.
By the way, I did apply SPF over the
Wise Beauty. And between the both of
them, I use the Inis free. This is my
current favorite SPF. It's like a serum
feel. My skin is very, very hydrated.
So, I do think this is nice, but I don't
know. I don't think I recommend it. It's
very expensive. Light 6N. Let's see. So,
it does have a pump.
Ooh, it has like a very airy feel to it.
This is light 6N and it's still kind of
on the deep side
for me as you can see. So, just keep
that in mind. It definitely seems to be
oxidizing
pretty bad on the oxidation front, but
it's melting into my skin. And I do
think my skin prep is a huge factor in
that.
I mean, it's giving like a light
coverage.
I think I do have such a hydrating base
on that it's kind of mimicking what it
would do if it were mixed with
moisturizer. Not quite. It should give
more coverage than that, but ooh it it
it feels like air, baby. This is light
as air.
It looks really pretty. It just melted
into the skin.
This is feeling fantastic
for dry skin. Honestly, this is so
lightweight and airy. I really can't
imagine truly mixing it with a
moisturizer,
nor do I feel like it needs to be. It's
not heavy duty feeling at all. Again, my
base is super duper hydrated and smooth.
So, that's contributing to this. But,
ooh, I like this. It does
oxidize a little. So, make sure you
choose a shade that's lighter. But, if
you can nail down a good shade, I mean,
this looks absolutely gorgeous. This
looks like a second skin. It's so
lightweight. It evened everything out. I
would say give a lighter side of medium
coverage. It didn't really build too
much for me. Only a little bit of
additional coverage. So, I don't think
this is one you can get a ton of
coverage with. Looking at the claims, it
claims it has full coverage. I
definitely don't agree with that and
that it gives natural finish, which I do
agree with the natural finish. It's
looking a little bit more glowy because
of my base. So, it's a flexible finish.
But yeah, it looks really natural. It's
sitting on the skin beautifully. I'm
going to pop on a little bit of the new
Benefit Porefessional concealer. I'm not
like super excited about any Benefit
base products, but I got it in PR. I'm
going to try it. Hey, you know what?
This brow gel does have really nice
hold. It's just the applicator I don't
love because I feel like it didn't
direct my hairs where I wanted them and
it took a little too long to dry. So, in
the process of drying, my hair is kind
of drooped a little bit, but when it's
all said and done, really beautiful
hold. Let's get into the new Shanta Kai
collection. This is their lion
collection. It's limited edition. This
is like the heart and soul of today's
video. What I wanted to talk about, you
guys know my feelings on Shanta Guy.
They are expensive and I always
recommend to wait when they have sales,
but their limited edition collections do
they do sell out. It is one of those
brands where they are overpriced.
There's no question about it. But like
at least they put their money where
their mouth is because their products
are so beautiful. Now, this collection
doesn't have any new formulas. It's just
new shades of formulas that I already
know are really nice. So, we'll start
off with the blush in this collection.
This is the shade Lion Pride. Now, this
one doesn't have any fun packaging. It's
just the same packaging. This is one of
my favorite blush formulas, powder blush
formulas. This is $44. So, that's why I
don't recommend it too often. This is an
overspray as you can see. So, it
instantly is not as [gasps] beautiful
anymore, but that's just realistically
what the color is. So, to show you as
accurate as I can, I am wiping it away.
But this is a soft kind of neutral
little warm actually pink. It's a nice
warm pink I would say. And I feel like
this is going to give a really natural
flushed look. I wish the packaging of
these were nicer, but I love them. The
formula of them are really beautiful.
Honestly, this is a formula that is
worth it. Like I said, they do have good
sales a few number of times throughout
the year and that's when Shantaai is
really worth it. But I wanted to show
off this blush because it is a gorgeous
summer into fall transition blush
because it's warm but it kind of gives
that really natural flush look. Oh yeah,
this is the perfect transition shade.
Quite pigmented. It's going to work for
a big range of skin tones here, which
sometimes Shantaai does not. So, that's
really nice. Oo, this is pretty. This is
like a burnt but not too toasted look.
And it blends in beautifully, but this
is on the more pigmented side of their
blushes. So, do keep that in mind. But
because it's such a beautiful formula,
it is blending out really beautifully.
And it's just one of those colors where
you can pretty much blend it out
wherever and it's going to look natural
because it has such a natural flush.
Now, the items from this collection that
I was the most excited about were their
eye shades here. These are incredible.
They're always worth it on sale. I love
these things. Even though they're $58,
they're beautiful single shadow. So,
let's see the shades. They all have uh
limited edition green packaging, but
they still have the animal on the front,
which a lot of their colors do. So, this
is Marty, a deep chocolate.
That's gorgeous for like an all over one
and done smokey eye. This is Senkee, a
rose shimmering
sand. Oh, these are unreal. These are
the best thing in the collection. And
then Nara. Now, this is a demi matte
golden beige.
These are very pretty. I'm going to
start off with Senank. Just going to
blend this out.
And I'm going to use this as kind of a
crease shade. These have a nice neutral
undertone to them. So they're not
pulling too warm. They'll kind of go
with everything. And when I use a very
soft brush like this blending brush,
even though Senke is a metallic shade,
it's soft enough that you can absolutely
use it like I'm using it now.
Oh yeah. And then if you were to use
your finger, right, pop this on. Look at
that. So this is one of those super
luxurious shades where depending on how
much you put, you can make this look
like multiple eyeshadows, even if it's
only one, right? So if you apply a sheer
layer of it, it looks like a crease
shade that I use that looks matte. And
then when you apply it in a more
concentrated way, it looks like a
complete different shadow. That is to me
the definition of a luxury shadow.
That's what you pay for. And guess what?
These shadows, they do it. And they're
so versatile. I'm going to take Marty,
the deepest shade, and I'm just going to
use that to deepen my outer corner. And
you can see, even though you might think
this is only an eyelid shade, that is
not true. This formula is so pretty and
so high quality that yes, you can use
these as crease shades and blend them
out, but you can also get that full
opacity that you see in the pan. Taking
what is left over on my brush,
blending that shade along the lower
lash. But yeah, this all over the eyelid
is truly one of the most beautiful,
well, will truly be one of the most
beautiful one and done shades. cannot
confirm but I suspect so. And then I'm
going to take Nara, which is that golden
beige shade. And this is actually a
matte. You know,
it says demi matte, which it is true,
but it really is a matte shade. Oh my
goodness. And you know what? That's
pretty all over the lid. Even though the
other shades have a glow to them, this
is just a pretty
brightening beige shade all over the
eyelid.
This one's probably the least worth it.
I think the luminous finish of the
others make it more worth the price
point, but regardless, this formula is
just always going to be a win. It is
gorgeous. And then also in the
collection, they have their Luster Glide
Eyeliner formula, which is very
beautiful in the shade Garnet. This is
$36. This is really pretty metallic
cranberry shade. These have a really
creamy glide. They're going to set down
and last a long time. And this is going
to be more
subtle than like a black. I personally
don't love this shade. If you have green
eyes, I
would absolutely recommend looking into
this shade. It's going to make your
green eyes pop. Uh I think like a brown
would have been a little bit more matchy
matchy with the eye shades of this
collection. Not that this doesn't match,
but I don't know. I feel like brown or
like a dark dark green, right, would
have matched the packaging at least.
This color is a little random if I'm
being honest. I don't think you need
this from the collection. This eyeliner
formula is beautiful, but I don't I
don't even really like this shade,
honestly. It's fine. Uh, but the formula
is nice. You see it's just gliding
across the eyes with ease that I'm able
to make the minest wing. Then you have
just enough time to soften it with a
little brush.
Pretty. But this is the least necessary
thing of the collection. You know I
don't lie to you. I'm going to tell you
how it is. Pretty. You don't need it
though. But man, these eyeliners, they
are they are high quality. I've not been
using my favorite liners recently
because I always am using, you know, my
speed review straw liners. I've gotten
used to not amazing ones. Yeah, this is
good. This applies so easily. I don't
love this color. Let's finish up this
video with the lip products from the
collection. Now, this is absolutely a
fall collection. If you're looking for
some new fall lips, these are pretty.
So, these are their lip gel formula.
Really solid, good formula. $55.
So, they're going to cost you. Um, but
they have the pretty limited edition
lion packaging. So, this is candalabra.
It's a rich blackberry. And you see
these are the lip veils. So, they'll
build up to full opacity. So, let me
show you. So, you can get like a sheer
layer.
Don't be scared if you don't love
bold lip because this is pretty with a
little bit of lip liner. [snorts]
But you can also
build it up and get like the full berry
lip for the fall and winter. So that's
really pretty. A reminder, I don't have
lip liner on, so it will have a cleaner
application. And then the other one is
more my speed. I do wear colors like
this in the winter, but that's it. And I
don't foresee myself wearing as much
dark lipstick this particular winter as
I used to because I have a baby who puts
her hands all over me and like a dark
lipstick that doesn't set down is not
it's not going to be great cuz she puts
her hands on my hand and everything. So
rock jasmine.
This one is gorgeous. This is a tawny
cinnamon brown.
So let's see what the
the sheer layer is stunning.
It's just a little bit warm. I don't see
really honestly a lot of brown.
That's pretty. And then
it can be built up. Okay, this is
looking more brown to this shade.
Ah, these lips for fall are stunning.
This one's so pretty. Let me put this
one on with a little bit of lip liner.
Can you believe it's still hot outside?
And we're talking about fall makeup and
fall collections.
I just lined my lips with Milani Keep It
Full Plumping Lip Liner in the shade Hot
Shot. This with Rock Jasmine from Shan
Sakai. Made a beautiful fall lip and a
very different price point. But hey,
this is a fall look. I was I was
doubting the Garnet eyeliner, but it
does make sense with the lip colors from
the collection. I do think the eye
colors are a bit neutral compared to the
other items in the collection. But
anyways, this is the full swatch
lineup here of the Shanta Kai fall
collection. And it very much gives fall.
I cannot wait to use that dark eye color
all over. I'm going to have to do that
really soon. But here's the final look
today. A beautiful fall look. I think I
might have been most impressed by the
Drunk Elephant cover drops today, but I
loved everything that I used today. The
Wise moisturizer overpriced, but I mean
it was really nice on the skin. The
Revie has ended up really, really
nicely. Like I said, it just takes a
little too much to dry. So, my eyebrows
did fall in the meantime. You didn't see
this, but you know what? This Benefit
concealer is not too bad. And then
everything from the Shantae Kai
collection I enjoyed. I think the eye
shades are the standouts here though for
this collection. But Shantaai's winter
collection last year was like
impeccable. So I can't wait to see what
they come out for the winter time.
But it's true. I know it is the end of
August, but it's the end of August, you
guys. So, it's time to start thinking
about fall colors, switching over your
makeup wardrobe to maybe some deeper
lips, some warmer eyes, more bold eyes.
Fall and winter, it's a little bit more
fun to play with makeup. So, I'm
excited. Um, I'll have everything that I
spoke about, mentioned, linked down
below for you guys, as well as tagged in
YouTube shopping. And as always, make
sure you subscribe to my channel because
this might have been my first time
trying these products, but I'm going to
continue to test them more and then I
will update you in my speed reviews. So,
all of these products you are going to
hear about again, I promise. I hope you
guys enjoyed this video, found it
helpful. Let me know your thoughts about
the new collections down below and I'll
