Don from the Don Show friends and we are
back for a new segment called If You
Don't Know. And today we're going to be
talking about Blade, real name, Eric
Crossbrooks. So, please hit the like
button, share, ring that bell, and let's
get started. The first comic book that
Blade was showed on was The Tomb of
Dracula issue number 10, created by
writer Marv Wolfman and pencellor Jean
Coen. cover dated July 1973 as a
supporting character before going to
star in his own solo story lines. Era
Brooks was born in Soho, London on
October 24th, 1929. His father, Lucas
Cross, a member of the secret society,
the Order of Tyrina, sent his pregnant
wife, Tara, to England before he was
taken prisoner in LA. Due to
complications, Tara was forced to seek a
doctor's assistance. The doctor, Deacon
Frost, was actually a vampire who drank
Terra's blood as she gave birth, passing
on a series of enzymes that alter her
baby. The enzymes entered the baby's
bloodstream, transforming him into being
tainted by a vampire's bite, but not
turned. In other words, he was half
human, half vampire. Frost was driven
away before he could slay the baby. But
Terra died, leaving the orphan Eric
Brooks to be raised at the mouth. When
it comes to early training in Blad's
life, he was mentored by Jamal Alfrey,
who was not only a jazz musician, but a
veteran vampire slayer, who later moved
into the broth and became a mentor and a
father figure for Blade, teaching and
training him in the world of being a
fighter and hunting vampires.
Unfortunately, there is a moment where
Jamal ends up missing where Blade comes
to find out that Dracula turned Jamal
into a vampire. And unfortunately, Blade
had to make the hardest decision of his
life and kill his mentor, his father
figure. So, not only does Blade hunts
vampires, he hunts for the for the
vampire that killed his mother, and now
he hunts for the vampire that killed his
only father figure he ever had in his
