We're at an incredible crossroads of
technology and innovation today and it's
being fostered right here in Indiana.
Hackathons are such an amazing space and
you meet such incredible people and
sometimes it feels really limiting to
only computer science majors. So the
fact that Purdue is the first to like
expand it to a massive hardware
hackathon [music]
and have engineers like join the space
really great.
Students are bringing the [music] next
generation of ideas, innovations, and
this is really cool to see. Having an
open mind on
old problems, new problems is key to how
the world innovates.
We have a lot of efforts and hard work
put into this to get this thing at this
stage where we are. Our main goal lies
that we want to give the best tech, we
want to be the best research. We want to
have this college top of every chart
which is there. So whatever it takes to
do that, we're going to do it.
People flew in from all over the world
to be here at this hackathon. So we're
really excited to compete. Uh we're all
[music] running on probably like two or
three hours of sleep.
I've pulled several all-nighters on
projects before and this is just taking
to another level. But it's also my first
hardware hackathon. It's really
refreshing to meet some people that know
what I'm talking about when I mention
something by its part number.
Students take it from idea
to execution.
This actually attracted more than 500
students from 10 countries.
I think the biggest validation already
has just been seeing all these people
flooding in, seeing people working
together, trying to build something that
they're just interested about, and us
being able to provide the resources to
make that possible has been truly
amazing.
It was
an amazing feeling to win. It's like our
hard work really paid off, and it's
really exciting and cool seeing all the
cool projects here as well.
I think it's quite fun, and I learned a
lot about the software part that [music]
I don't usually look at.
It has been a unique experience, [music]
like spending 36 hours with so talented
people.
