Video summary

Hello everyone and welcome to Prophecy
Files briefing. [music] We're glad that
you've joined us today.
I want to take another portion of
America's history and show [music] how
it ties into Bible prophecy and how
important that it is that we understand
[music] the times and we know what we
should do.
We're now celebrating the 250th year of
the United States of America
and so there are a lot of characters, a
lot of different personalities
that are significant in history and of
course we would know them by George
Washington and others. The list goes on
and on and we think about them when we
are thinking about the formation of this
nation. But there is a forgotten patriot
that many people will overlook and it is
directly tied to the Jewish people and
the nation of Israel and how that we
will deal with them as the United States
of America. Our irrevocable
trust between one another is extremely
important and it's biblical and it's
prophetic. This forgotten patriot is
Haym Salomon. He was there in the very
beginning.
As a matter of fact, he's a Polish-born
Jew that migrated here to the United
States of America.
And when he arrived, he was involved in
doing
merchant merchandising and so forth. He
was a broker as well. And when he got
here, it's a very difficult time, of
course, the very beginnings of our
nation. He studied finance actually in
Western Europe before he migrated to the
United States and came into New York
City.
And there in the
American Revolutionary War that was of
course about to
begin, he started seeing what was taking
place here in America and became one of
the Sons of Liberty as a matter of fact
and you can find all of this information
of course
in the history books. The fact is that
he came alongside Robert Morris who was
essentially the basically the very first
Secretary of the Treasury. And even
though our fledgling nation at that
moment under George Washington's
leadership as the general of these
Continental Army and the and the
beginning of the Revolutionary Wars that
was taking place, the colonies were
not in a in a formation of course of a
government as of yet. And so there was
no way to tax or to raise funds. And
that's where this forgotten patriot
comes in because through his work
uh he was able to help finance the war
effort in the Revolutionary War as well
as the beginnings of the United States
of America. He himself was arrested a
couple of times
uh for being a spy and espionage taking
place between France and the United
States and of course against Britain at
the time.
Now, what was significant about this and
about this man
is that he started in and uh the process
of the beginnings of the uh
Revolutionary War and so forth as
helping to finance. As a matter of fact,
one of the most significant uh
times it took place is when the Battle
of Yorktown was taking place and he
literally toured the area that was there
to see that the soldiers had no
uniforms. They did not even have the
right weaponry, shoes, all of the
things. And and basically it was a very
difficult situation of course. There was
no way that they were able to even
defend themselves against the oncoming
uh British Army. And so as a result of
that he financed literally the beginning
of the Revolutionary War. As a result of
that he was able to
uh help America in that particular
battle for sure and the rest that would
be subsequent in literally financing
George Washington and all of the efforts
that would take place.
He was um
very instrumental work working alongside
Robert Morris as what it was identified
as the superintendent of finance of the
United States.
And over and over again, they would
solicit Haym Salomon to help finance and
literally he took from his own personal
fortune
and was able to use that. In fact, he
completely depleted his own personal
fortune as well as raising funds to help
finance
the war effort, the revolutionary war
effort and of course even the beginning
of America. As a matter of fact, he was
on his deathbed
whenever America did not have the United
States did not have the finances to be
able to
uh push through in those early days.
They were literally bankrupt as a
government. There was no
um
ability at that moment to raise funds or
taxation that was uh going to be
forthcoming, but it was not there yet.
And so he literally got off of his
deathbed to go back to uh his favorite
place of being a broker inside of a
coffee house. That's where it all
started. And he would
set up his shop there and over coffee
people would discuss the financing of
the United States of America and he
would sell
uh papers to be able to finance that
effort and people believed in him. They
trusted him and through his incredible
abilities
he literally underwrote the beginning of
the United States of America. He's an
individual that is long since forgotten
and there is a statue uh that is erected
to him in Philadelphia, George
Washington being there beside him, that
people drive by all the time and they
don't take any note of it, but it is
through Haym Salomon and his effort that
we literally have the United States of
America.
Hundreds and thousands of dollars of
continental debt that was incurred um
he used his own fortunes for and that's
significant. The reason why I want to
say this is because
uh there is a legend that is said that
the 13 colonies
uh were
uh with their formation, there would be
on the
uh currency that would come these 13
stars that would be there and when asked
Mr. Solomon, "Uh what do you want?" He
said, "I don't want anything for myself.
I want it for my people, the Jewish
people." And so it is said that George
Washington formed in the Star of David
those 13 colonies that were on the note.
It's important for us to understand that
this man used his fortune. That's
exactly what was pledged by our founding
fathers.
And depleted it. When it was all said
and done, Haym Salomon died as a pauper,
using his fortune and everything he
raised to finance the fledgling nation
that would be called the United States
of America. And after 250 years,
we now can be able to, of course,
celebrate all of the efforts that were
taking place in those early days and
since.
Have we made mistakes? We certainly
have.
Have we uh not been living up to the
values that we need to? Certainly.
But what I want to draw attention to is
this Polish-born Jewish man, Haym
Salomon,
whose father was a rabbi,
who migrated here to the United States
and literally financed the revolution
and the beginning of the United States
of America. And the connection between
Israel and the Jewish people is one that
is extremely significant from the very
beginning of this nation.
As a matter of fact, President Harry S.
Truman was the first to acknowledge
Israel's statehood in May 14th, 1948 and
because of that, Israel became a nation
in a day as prophesied by the word of
God.
The word of God declares that those
nations that bless Israel will be
blessed. And the Jewish people and the
book of Obadiah prophesies a time into
the future, the Bible says, where God is
going to deal with the nations that will
not deal favorably with Israel.
He says this in verse 15 and 16, "For
the day of the Lord upon all the nations
is near.
As you have done, it shall be done to
you. Your reprisal shall return upon
your own head." He's talking about Edom
in that particular occasion, but it is a
prophetic statement. Because the day of
the Lord upon all the nations, he says,
is near. And when God begins to deal
with these nations in the future,
he identifies them in the book of
Matthew chapter 25 and verse 31 as the
goat nations and the sheep nations. In
that passage of scripture, the Bible
says prophetically that when the Son of
Man comes in his glory and all the
angels with him, he will sit on his
glorious throne, that would be in
Jerusalem, and all the nations will be
gathered before him, and he will
separate the people one from another as
a shepherd separates the sheep from the
goats. He will put the sheep on his
right hand and the goats on his left.
That is how America and other nations
deal with the nation of Israel. God said
it will return back to you the same way.
According to the scripture in Genesis 12
and 3, he says, "I will bless those that
bless you, and I will curse those who
curse you." Understand this, that the
United States of America literally
exists because there was a man named
Haym Salomon who helped us in the very
beginning as a Jewish individual who
said, "I'm not looking for my own self.
I'm looking for my own people." And he
literally looked at the new formation of
a new nation, the United States of
America, as a haven of safety for the
Jewish nation until He makes this
statement, "until they could return back
to their homeland of Israel." At that
time, of course, it was not even formed.
And the acknowledgement of it was not.
But when President Truman made his
declaration and the state of Israel
became a nation again, and the people
are re-gathering there right now. All of
that is biblically prophetic and
important for us to understand
that the nations who support and bless
Israel,
God said he would bless them.
Now, there are powerful efforts that are
being made to undermine the support of
Israel in the media,
in evangelical churches, as a matter of
fact, and in Washington politicians.
And I want you to know it's important
for us to maintain our commitment and
the Bible mandate,
the Bible says to comfort his people,
[music] comfort Israel.
So,
the next time a politician complains
about aid to Israel,
they need to think about the unpaid debt
to Haym Salomon.
And the connection that the United
States of America has to Israel and into
the future,
may we never forget
what God has used the Jewish people to
do [music] to help the nation
of the United States of America and our
future
depends upon [music] God's word and our
blessing and connection to Israel and
the Jewish people.
God bless you for joining us today.
Until the next time, remember Jesus
Christ [music]
is coming soon.
