Video summary
The video explores the profound connection between faith and the founding of the United States, arguing that the true American Revolution began long before the first shot was fired. According to the discussion, this initial revolution occurred in the minds and hearts of people who were inspired by their belief in the Bible and a commitment to divine providence. John Adams famously noted that the real revolution happened prior to any violence, driven by a spiritual awakening among patriots who felt compelled to oppose British tyranny, such as taxation without representation and attempts to impose the Church of England. These early leaders understood that their struggle was rooted in biblical principles, leading them to pledge their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor for the cause of liberty.
Central to this narrative were the "black-robed regiment," a group of Congregational pastors who used their pulpits to frame the conflict with Britain in biblical terms, often comparing King George III to Pharaoh and the colonies to Israel. Through thousands of sermons delivered over their lifetimes, these ministers fueled the courage of the populace to resist oppression and secure independence. The British even recognized the threat posed by these clergy members, declaring them extremely injurious to peace due to their passionate preaching against tyranny. This spiritual foundation provided the necessary strength for the founders to stand firm against overwhelming odds, demonstrating that their confidence was not merely political but deeply theological in nature.
As the video transitions to the present day and the future, it emphasizes that believers today must draw upon the same source of courage that empowered the American founders: the Word of God. The transcript warns that the last days will be characterized by fear, panic, wars, and a culture marked by narcissism and brutality, conditions described in passages like Luke 21 and 2 Timothy 3. In such an evil environment, Jesus instructs believers not to be alarmed but to lift up their heads, knowing that redemption is near. The message is clear that while the world may bring tribulation, Christians are called to stand firm with supernatural boldness, empowered by the Holy Spirit, rather than succumbing to the spirit of fear that God has not given them.
Ultimately, the briefing concludes that preserving the values upon which the nation was founded requires a return to the courage and confidence found in Christ. As society faces increasing moral decay and hostility toward biblical truth, believers are urged to act as strong individuals who remain watchful and steadfast in their faith. The video encourages viewers to maintain their reliance on the crucified Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, trusting that Jesus is coming soon. By holding fast to these divine values, Christians can navigate the perilous times ahead with strength, love, and a sound mind, continuing the legacy of those who once stood for truth against all odds.

Hello everyone and welcome to Prophecy
Watch briefing today. I'm so glad to
have you join us. I hope you'll share
this out on your social media
as we take up part two in this series
celebrating the 250th year of the United
States of America. How important that it
is that we hold to the values that are
found in the word of God that founded
the United States of America, of course
and how that looks prophetically into
the future. Because that's what Prophecy
Watch is all about, helping us to see
what the Bible says concerning the
future.
And so I want to take you into an
article
that I believe will be uh very uh
inspirational and helpful to be able to
see into the past uh what our founders
have said and then into the future as to
how we should conduct ourselves based
upon the word of God.
In this article, it's titled uh America
must return to the same source of uh
founders courage and confidence, the
word of God.
So, it's important for you to realize
that as we celebrate this 250th year of
American independence uh
the true revolution
didn't begin with with muskets and and
uh all of that. It be actually began uh
before that according to this article
uh and it was because of people's belief
in the word of God and the Bible. So,
when we think, the article says, of an
American independence men who said
things like this, for the support of
this declaration with firm reliance
on the protection of divine providence,
we mutually pledge to each other our
lives
our fortunes and our sacred honor.
It is said
according to this article and I'm sure
that you've heard it before as well that
these men essentially signed their death
warrants. The signers sacrificed
uh and suffered for their stand
uh to be able to create and to cause to
be founded the United States of America.
John Adams being one of the signers and
our second president uh commented on the
origins of the American Revolution and
and his answer would surprise most
Americans. There's no doubt according to
this article. Writing to Hezekiah Niles,
he said um that the war for independence
was not actually uh the revolution.
Instead, Adams argued and said that the
real American Revolution had already
occurred before a single shot was fired.
What does he mean by that? The
revolution was in the minds and the
hearts of people who were willing to
change their religious sentiments for
their duties and their obligations. And
he pointed to the exchange of their
loyalties because of the actions of
Parliament at the time. He mentioned
specifically how the British government
was exacting taxation without
representation and plotting to install
the Church of England as a state
tax-supported church in all colonies.
He further explained that the uh this
produced in 1760
and 61 the awakening and revival of
American principles and feelings
with an enthusiasm which went on
increasing until 1775 and then it burst
out in violence, hostility, and and fury
in the founding of our nation. This was
an alarming thing that was taking place
and Adams said that there were seven
patriots who were uh congregational
pastors there in Boston, two of which uh
Jonathan Mayhew of the West Church and
Dr. Samuel Cooper of Brattle Street
Church.
Mayhew's uh nearly 50-page exposition on
Romans 13 explained why uh and what the
Bible had to say about good government.
Good and bad and how we're to respond to
both and that is of course to pray and
support uh biblical values in that.
Adams told Niles in this letter that he
wrote uh that Mayhew's message was read
by everybody and celebrated by friends
and abused by their enemies.
While Mayhew was held up as an example,
he was not alone. The influence of these
patriot uh pastors before and during the
war of independence could not be
overstated, this article says. The
reason, the basic form of regular public
communication for many in the colonies
was Bible-based sermons.
The weekly uh churchgoer would hear some
7,000 sermons in their lifetime. Uh some
15,000 hours of concentrated listening,
according to the article. And when the
British Crown cracked down in Boston in
1774
with the blockade of the Boston Harbor,
it was patriot pastors that took up
their pulpits
and painted the conflict uh with Britain
in biblical terms, many times portraying
King uh George III to Pharaoh and the
American colonies like that of Israel.
The British
uh called these pastors the black-robed
regiment because they wore black
clerical robes and passionately preached
about uh and I and against the British
tyranny. Adams wrote to his wife Abigail
concerning it in Philadelphia from
Philadelphia. He said that the clergy
here of every denomination thunder and
lighten every Sabbath against the
oppression of King George and the
Parliament. These black-robed regiment
ministers were such a menace to the
British uh that one of the generals,
General Percy
uh of the British uh brigade was said
and declared this. He said, "No body uh
of men are or so extremely injurious to
peace and tranquility as the clergy."
They preached it from their pulpits uh
constantly. You can read about the
black-robed regiment. Through their
preaching, these patriot pastors helped
bring about what Adams described as a
change in the religious sentiment of
people.
Now, stay with me because when war came,
that biblical conviction fueled the
courage to stand against tyranny. And
from the pulpits, these pastors made it
uh made the case for independence and it
strengthened the people's courage in
that time
to be able to resolve to secure it.
So, if we are willing
to preserve after these 250 years
uh that same kind of courage and passion
for the values that we were founded
upon, then it is important for us to
return to the same uh courage and
confidence in the word of God that the
founders had. And the Bible, concerning
Bible prophecy, is very clear that in
the last days, it's going to take
courage in the lives of believers to
stand
in the evil day, in the last days.
The Bible tells us that the final uh
times prior to the coming of the Lord
Jesus Christ would be intensely
um evil in society and morals and even
the environment around. But, it is very,
very important for us to understand what
Jesus said concerning these conditions.
He said that there would be panic or
fear that would take hold worldwide.
This is what he said in Luke 21. He
warns us, Jesus said, "Men's hearts
would fail them for fear, for watching
or seeing those things that are coming
upon the earth."
In fact, he admonished us from the word
of God in Luke 21 to stand up and lift
up our heads when we see these things
happening because our redemption is
drawing nigh. In John 16:33, Jesus said
that the world is going to bring
tribulation, but take courage. I have
overcome the world.
And when we hear the Bible says in
Matthew 24:6 about wars and rumors of
wars in the end times, Jesus said, "See
to it that you're not
alarmed by all this." In fact, take
courage like Paul told Timothy when the
culture is decaying and and there's all
kinds of issues going on prior to Jesus
Christ return,
believers are to stand in courage and
stand firm against these
the underpinnings of values and biblical
morals. This is what Paul said to
Timothy in 2 Timothy 3. He said, "In the
last days, perilous or fearful times
will come.
It will be marked according to the
scripture by extreme narcissism and
brutality and a lack of self-control."
We're watching that take place. 2
Timothy chapter 1:7, the Bible tells us
Paul is telling Timothy, "God's not
given us that spirit of fear, but power
and love and a sound mind." This is what
it's going to take in the days that
we're living in.
And the Bible says there in Paul telling
the Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 16:13
that we're to be watchful and stand firm
in our faith, acting like strong
individuals, strong men, he said.
The Bible says that
preaching the truth in the last days is
going to attract. There is no doubt in
it will and I see it all the time right
here on Prophecy Files briefing,
hostility and all kinds of actions and
comments that come because people simply
don't believe the word of God. And
that's your prerogative. But I want you
to know it's going to require for the
believer supernatural boldness in the
power of the Holy Spirit. In fact, the
Bible says in Daniel chapter 11:32 as we
approach the coming of the Lord, He said
it's going to be with all of these
conflicts, with all of these kind of
things going on, that the people that
know their God
will display strength and take action in
the last days. This is important for us
to understand. So, the source of our
courage in these last days, believer,
is maintaining our faith in Christ and
him crucified and in the word of God and
being empowered by the Holy Spirit as
Acts 1:8 tells us to do.
That's important for us in the time that
we're living and I want to encourage you
today
to keep looking up because Jesus Christ,
without a doubt,
is going to return at any moment. And as
we remind you every time right here on
Prophecy Watch Briefing, Jesus Christ
is coming soon. God bless you.
