Prophecy Files Briefing: CAN AMERICA SURVIVE WITHOUT TRUST?

Hello everyone and welcome to Prophecy Watch briefing. [music] I'm Pastor Joey Rogers and I'm glad that you've joined us. I hope you'll share this out on your social media. I believe it will be an encouragement and an insight [music] as we are taking time to look at the historical uh perspective of the United States of America in this 250th year of celebration and then prophetically, what does that look like? From today's article, and this is the title, can a republic survive without trust? >> [music] >> This is very important, so I want you to stay tuned with me today. This article begins, a republic is not held together by laws alone, it's held together by something uh harder to see and harder to replace, the belief shared among millions of citizens who have never met that the system that they live under is to be honest and have certain rules applied and values that everyone unitedly holds together. When that belief holds, democracy functions like it should, but when it is not holding, it erodes and it becomes something that is uh difficult for people to live under. In fact, they begin to scrutinize it much much more, even the leaders and everything else, questioning can it happen? In this article, it states that the importance of trust and why it matters is critical because every society depends upon certain foundations. Some are visible, such as the laws and the courts, elections, legislator, the government institutions, and then there are those that are invisible for a society, for a republic, and that is respect, confidence, credibility, and perhaps the most important, trust. That trust is usually the quiet force behind all things because millions of people coming together in the United States of America from the very beginning, that's exactly what it was when the pilgrims hit the shores, they were coming to this great uh new land to be able to have religious freedoms and they had a united trust to be able to do that. It is that foundation that America has been founded upon now and has survived for the 250 years that it has. But now there is certainly over the past several years a an erosion of that trust. According to this article, the public confidence in many institutions have declined. So then the question begs of the title of this article and today's prophecy files, can a republic function without trust? Well, when trust is granted initially, uh people don't think about the functionality of government and systems and leaders until those systems, leaders, and uh the government begins to display something that the public can no longer trust in and then uh the division takes place such as what we're seeing between Republicans, Democrats, and all throughout our society. It's important for us to understand that, according to this article, transparency does not guarantee trust. Just because you say you're going to bring everything and lay it on the table, once you have eroded that trust like we have seen, it becomes very difficult for it to recover. No republic can thrive or even survive if the citizenship and the people of that nation uh lose confidence and trust in their leaders and in the government to function like it should. So, suspicion grows and uh divisions deepen and confidence begins to erode more and more. Trust then has to be earned back, which is a very difficult thing. When citizens remain, according to this article, in informed, engaged, and committed to the principles of self-government, which is what our republic is, then a constitutional republic retains its ability to move forward. A republic does not survive because of its institutions alone. It survives because the citizenship refused to stop believing that it can. Now, several years ago, in 2013, as a matter of fact, I uh had an article in my possession that I've kept because it was a sobering statement at the beginning of this entire article. And this is what it said, "Can America survive if Americans no longer share a core set of values?" Why is that question so important? Because when America that was founded upon an idea and founded upon uh freedom, founded upon the freedom of specifically religion and the ability for us to worship our God without government interference, and those set values, core values that were held, that are biblical principles uh upon the foundation of our country, even our Constitution holds as it's written those values that are actually ingrained in the very Constitution and every governmental doctrine and uh document that we have, including to every state in the Union that acknowledges God as the principal giver, the one that we are to lean upon and learn from and to respect. When that begins to erode, as this question is, can America then survive if we don't have those uh core values? And where do those core values come from? They come from the Bible, from the foundation of our nation, as a matter of fact. If it doesn't happen, then those values begin to disintegrate. People do not see eye to eye. There's fighting and infighting uh even among the people in that nation. And what you're seeing right now in the streets of America and even in the halls of Congress and so forth is such a division that people can no longer seem to have any kind of agreeable uh common connection because there is a uh a stake in the ground, so to speak, that is a causing the divide of their own agenda, their own ideology, not that that was shared and our biblical principles from the very foundation of the United States of America. It's very simply put in the Constitution that there is, at the core, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Those are biblical values, and if we don't hold those values one toward another and a common confidence and courtesy towards one another, then the union is very fragile. That agreement is critical. Our early founding fathers did not have always agreement taking place between the two, but they did have the values that brought this nation together that held us now for 250 years under one Constitution. Why is that important prophetically? Well, I'll tell you. Jesus said in Matthew 24, speaking about the last days prior to his coming, he said the atmosphere in the last days would be characterized by severe deception, lawlessness, and the breakdown of trust. When you're looking at that in Matthew 24, you're looking at Jesus said betrayal where people would betray one another and hate one another, and loyalty in relationships would not be there. He said there would be such deception that false Christ and false prophets would come with their own ideas, their own thoughts, and ideology, and even philosophy, and theology. And Jesus warned, be careful that you're not deceived by all of that. He also said that there would be an incredible lack of love one towards another. Those things are principles that really held our country together for all these 250 years, and now we're watching that erode in a massive way. And Jesus said finally that there would be before his arrival, before Jesus returns, a great falling away. What do you mean by that? It means that those that one time had their faith and confidence in God and biblical values would fall away from their faith. In fact, it's not just falling away, but they're actually rebelling against it, refusing it, rejecting it. That's what the Bible says in 2 Timothy chapter 4 verses 3 and 4. For the time would come when they would not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lust, they would heap to themselves teachers having itching ears, and they would turn away from their ears from the truth and shall be turned into fables. Paul was specifically writing here saying that there's going to come a season and that season I believe has arrived when in the last days prior to Jesus return when people would literally turn theirself away from truth and embrace the lie wholeheartedly as if it was the truth. Against the Bible, against the principles of God's word. These are things that have held our country together for 250 years. And you say, "Well, Pastor, what is the solution?" Well, I can tell you there's only one solution, and that is to return back to the biblical the the discarded values of the Bible to reestablish that kind of thought, principle, and agreement in our nation. Where we may disagree over certain things, but at least we can be civil and come together over the common principles and values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, which are the biblical principles upon which this nation was founded. God calls for us to be in agreement. John chapter 15, and this is what he says about that. He says, "When you come together in agreement, I will place my hand upon it." Psalm 133 even. And he says, "I I bless that nation that will come together in agreement over who I am. In other words, God said a nation that will see his hand and favor upon it will be that nation whose God is the Lord and God would bless that agreement. Truly God has given grace to the United States of America over these 250 years and the question is will we see that happen in the future? If we don't come together, pray for a revival in our nation and come together over biblical principles, it's a very difficult thing to be able to hold fast to. This is the hope for the believer today. Somebody said, "Well, that seems sounds very depressing. It sounds like it can't happen." It can if we will look to God and then for the hope of the believer >> [music] >> as we remind you every week according to the book of Titus chapter 2 verse 13, looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing [music] of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. The rapture truly is going [music] to take place. It's not escapism. It's saying that God is going to lift the church off of this earth before the environment [music] becomes so adverse that there's no one left. Today, my friends, let us hold fast to the word of [music] God. Pray for our leaders of the United States of America and pray for revival and keep looking [music] to Jesus. He's about to return.
