Video summary
The Zambia Police Service, working alongside other law enforcement agencies, has issued a formal statement regarding ongoing investigations into serious national security threats that have spanned several years. As part of this joint effort, police authorities have summoned Mr. Brian Mundubile and Mr. Makebi Zulu for questioning in connection with various crimes they are suspected of being involved in. Official notices have been served to their legal advocates, urging them to ensure the suspects appear on the specified dates for interviews aimed at establishing a direct link between these individuals and alarming activities within the country that could undermine national security.
The investigation specifically targets activities conducted on premises owned, managed, or linked to Mr. Mundubile and Mr. Zulu. The police are aware that the duo has sought refuge under international law with a known international organization and have already communicated with this entity to assure them that the suspects will be afforded due process and their fundamental human rights without any intended harm. In parallel, the police are inviting members of the public who possess valuable information regarding these investigations to come forward and cooperate fully whenever they are lawfully summoned to assist in the investigative mandate.
The statement serves as a stern warning to anyone harboring, collaborating with, or assisting persons of interest or those wanted by the police, noting that such actions will be treated as being accessories after the fact and subject to criminal sanctions. This caution extends specifically to anyone or any organization involved in financing the activities of these suspects and their collaborators, who will also be deemed accessories and face appropriate legal consequences. Furthermore, the police are actively investigating crimes related to terrorism and terrorist financing, encouraging the public to promptly report any suspicious activities they encounter while advising citizens to refrain from engaging in criminal conduct.
Ultimately, the authorities reiterate their commitment to maintaining peace and security for the sovereign Republic of Zambia and its people. The message concludes with a strong appeal for all members of the public to remain law-abiding citizens and avoid any involvement in criminal activities that could threaten national stability. By cooperating with lawful requests and reporting suspicious behavior, the community is urged to help ensure compliance with investigative efforts and protect the nation from further security threats.
