PIRU'S And BLOODS Actin As CRIP'S on Sequel For Snowfall OG PIRU Go Off!

[music] Yeah, we on TV. >> Yo yo. Hey, man. Guys, I don't know if you guys seen it, man, but they got a Snowfall sequel and it's about to go down, man. And I'm going to tell you right now, these guys are playing hard ball, man. Snowfall sequel, the drop pivots, the LA drug game, and rap fame. So, it's going to be it's a hell of a sequel. And and and when I seen it, I was like, man, OG, that that OG, you there listening to this? Franklin Saint, the young Andrew hero at the center of FX blood soaked snowfall uh evolved from crafty entrepreneur to lethal drug kingpins in the journey that was anything but heavenly tracing saints rise and fall over six seasons. The final episode was was uh bathed in tragedy. Uh Saints uh uh Damon Edris uh was a a lost soul wrecked by alcoholism, poverty. Many members of the inner circle, including family members, were dead. Uh, fugitives are behind bars. His former right-hand man, Leon Simons, Isaiah Jun, and Leon's girlfriend, Wanda Bell, Gail Bean, were striving to rebuild their lives and getting married. Snowfall became one of the FX signature series dramatic filmmaker John Singleton, portraited of the complexities of the crack epidemic that weakened havoc. And I mean this thing here wrecked havoc of the black community. Idris and producers carried the Singleton Vision uh when the Boys in the Hoods writer director died of a stroke in 2019. Boy, this was a hell of a goddamn movie and now they coming back with the sequel. OG, are you excited? >> No, sir. >> OG, what you mean? What you mean, >> man? I mean, the movie is could be entertaining, but it has blurred lines for the culture. When you look at when you look at this, the drop snowfall, I mean, one of my buddies told me, had I watched it, and when I watched it, man, it broke my mark. I'm looking at this and I'm seeing some true G's, I mean, active members out here in these streets. So when you have your lines blurred, we always talk about actors that put dresses on. You know, one of the few actors that never put a dress on was Danzel Washington, uh um uh Morgan Freeman, and Samuel L. Jackson. And you look at an actor when they put that dress on, they didn't been compromised. Right. >> Right. So for a active gang member to switch sides and say it's just acting that's like putting a dress on. So you got some G homies that are Bloods and Pyus are taking on [ __ ] rolls and they think it's just acting. Now, we we had a culture some years ago on the south and the east coast because the lines were blurred with pyros and crips hanging together in the south because they didn't know that to separate the difference. Right. >> Right. >> So now when somebody from South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi see these guys and know that they're reputable saying cuz putting on blue, Skip Townsen is a representative of 20 Bloods in LA. a a a G representative. Now you got you got Glasses Malone. Glasses Malone is a G out of watch. When he first come on, he's playing a [ __ ] All the the roles that are in that movie. How did they take these three guys and make have them for a extra part you get a certain amount of money from the SAG? Now, if you get a speaking role, you may get a couple of hundred extra dollars. It ain't like they got paid 25,000, 10,000. They may got a,000 or 1,500 for the roles that they played, but now it puts a lasting impression on gang activities. I don't know if you know what that is, but a method actor becomes the person that he's acting as. so much so he gets caught up in it and he's just acting a role but he becomes that person so much you're so much into it that you it become believable these guys that you're trying to throw a monkey wrench at or say that these guys took a role on playing a a a [ __ ] uh but basically playing a [ __ ] and they oh and they py or blood I'm going be real with you they're just trying to further their uh um their um career >> no you women first of Come on, let's stop right there. So >> the the uh um uh the girls were supposed to come into the bar and when they pull out their gun, we were supposed to break and run and hide. You You're taking it too far. I want to be real with you. You compare these two these young men who probably this their first acting role and and you compare them to a a actor putting a dress on is you know I don't have a dog in the fight. I don't I don't know I really don't understand how you guys are moving in your situation you're moving in. But if a guy's an actor I do know something about that. I watch actors. I've met actors. I've interviewed actors. These guys are acting a role on a movie, on a film set, and once that camera goes off, a method actor clicks back into who he is. So why are y'all so why are y'all so uh uh >> it's a bad it's a bad look on the culture. Period. It's a bad look on the culture. And it's it's not rewarding to our side. I you know, I don't care how you explain it. as a OG, I just can't sit back and feel like to go along to get along. I got to say something about it. Whether it's it's for me or it's against me. You know, uh the people that I've talked to and talk when Skip did this, I confer I confronted people close around him and he like, man, I don't know what he was thinking, man. They have roles in there that could have played a blood part for Bloods to play the part. So to take me over and put me in some place out of my element. How do I explain that? Uh uh uh in this new series, Wanda moves to the center stage as she becomes uh laser focused on making it big in the music business, convincing the the fledged rap genre can uh revolutionize American culture. She is also channeling her strong will to get beyond her addiction to crack, which plagued her in snowfall. She uh enlists her young cousin Lamar Kinsey uh Asante Black, a music prodigy raised by strict religious grandparents as her vehicle to stardom. Lamar is also trying to deal with his identity as a black man living in a community overrun by waring and gangs. This here helps to people to see how we unfold and came out of these poverty situations and these these all these different specific things we went through in our community. And I commend these guys for putting this back on too and just giving an eyesight to it so that other youngsters can know their history and what happened with their parents. A lot of it happened and a lot of it we can't take back, but we got to embrace what happened.
