Panel Discussion: Viksit Uttar Pradesh Gateway to Viksit Bharat @2047
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The panel discussion titled "Developed Uttar Pradesh: Gateway to Developed India @2047" gathered distinguished experts from academia, industry, and finance to explore the state's pivotal role in India's vision for 2047. The conversation highlighted a significant shift in perception regarding Uttar Pradesh, moving away from viewing it merely as a land of volume to recognizing its emerging status as a leader in deep tech and innovation. This transformation is largely attributed to forward-looking government policies, such as the recent Deep Tech policy which acknowledges the substantial capital requirements for startups like ₹100 crore ventures. The presence of unique hubs and research parks, combined with a supportive administrative environment, has positioned the state to lead nationally in these advanced sectors, effectively making Uttar Pradesh the essential pathway to achieving India's developed nation status by 2047.
A critical theme emerging from the dialogue is the vital role of rural areas and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as the true engines of this growth. Experts emphasized that future development will not stem solely from tier-one cities but will be driven by rural prosperity, exemplified by the widespread milk procurement centers that provide regular income to farmers across thousands of villages. Furthermore, financial institutions like SIDBI clarified their expanding direct financing capabilities for MSMEs, addressing long-standing challenges related to capital and collateral through digital solutions and venture debt. The panel noted that with over 15 branches now operational in the state and a focus on sectors ranging from defense corridors to food processing, the financial ecosystem is maturing to support local entrepreneurs who can transition their businesses from local markets to global export platforms.
To sustain this momentum and reach the ambitious target of a ₹1 trillion economy by 2030, the consensus points toward three non-negotiable pillars: policy stability, strategic investment, and comprehensive skill development. While policies have been attractive, their long-term success depends on consistency and sustainability to allow compounding effects to take hold for new ventures. Equally important is the urgent need to upgrade the workforce, moving beyond traditional training for electricians and plumbers to integrating AI, robotics, and digital tools into the curriculum for existing semi-skilled labor. The panelists argued that without realigning all these factors—government policy, capital availability, talent acquisition, and skill enhancement—toward a unified direction, the state cannot maintain its top position. Ultimately, the discussion concluded that by leveraging its massive youth population, strengthening the rural economy, and fostering an environment where innovation thrives, Uttar Pradesh is well-positioned to become the number one state in India, serving as the gateway to a developed nation by 2047.

Hello [Music] Hello,
thank you.
This Lucknow
is a city of culture and all the people here
do business with great culture.
[nasal sound] So a
very warm welcome to all of you to the Entrepreneur India
Game Change Awards and
[throat clearing sound]
you all are doing very well on your respective paths.
Once again, I
thank all of you who have been honored today.
And this is our topic, now this
panel of ours,
I think that people from so many different fields
and so many enlightened subjects,
Hindi is not becoming too much,
no,
okay, so in
this enlightened very
distinguished panel and
I would like to, they all have introduced themselves
and you have known all, they are all
known
sir,
IIT
Kanpur, I would like to start with you.
What we are talking about, our topic is
that
Developed Uttar Pradesh Gateway of Developed India
2027,
you are associated with such an institution which,
in terms of innovation, I think, is
far ahead not only in the country but in the entire nation.
IIT is ranked first among the best incubators in the world. According to you,
how close are we to Kanpur, when we
talk about developed Uttar Pradesh.
According to you, what are those three or four important
things due to which you feel that
Uttar Pradesh is far ahead in innovation in these things. It is
doing this and
can easily achieve it by 2047. So
what do you think? Mr. Ashutosh
Agnihotri Sir
Sanjeev ji thank you first of all
thank you Entrepreneur magazine for
inviting us
Professor Philip is also here so a lot of what I see is what I have learned
from
him so you talked about the strength of Uttar Pradesh as far as
deep tech is a
concern correct I
think it was 6th July if I remember correctly
and there was this
announcement of the deep tech
policy that has come out recently
and
if I can take an unbiased view where you
know watching Uttar Pradesh as an external
person who knows nothing about Uttar Pradesh.
It is one of the most forward-looking
policies as far as deep tech is concerned in
India.
Great. Two specific points in that one is
around recognizing the quantum of capital it takes to
build a deep tech let's say
a startup like ₹100 crore you are
putting up front it is first of its
kind
point number two was the announcement of your hub
first of its kind when it comes to
deep tech I mean you can
talk about different research parks
across the country. But deeptech is something that
I would say very recently it has become the
talk of the nation. Right? I mean DPIT came up
with this new definition of deep tech
itself. Earlier there was
talk about Uttar Pradesh was always looked as you no volume.
In terms of the number of people, in
terms of the amount of land, in terms of
capacity,
now there is this shift that has happened where it said that
okay, in those parts we are
doing great at but deep tech is also that we have to lead
in the country and given
when you talk about developed India, when you
talk about Vision 2047 and it was made very
clear by the Minister himself
that that path goes through Uttar Pradesh. It passes
through Uttar Pradesh.
So it's
[sound of clearing throat] not
making the decision that friend can do this, can't do this.
Everything has to be done. And giving deep tech
as like the front line which policy has just come.
I personally I am a scientist by
training. It really like makes me
feel very happy. I mean, for the last
14 years I was outside. So, coming back to
India and seeing I am from Kanpur by the
way. So, my home is in Kanpur I am
seeing the administration taking a
frontline law when it comes to taking deep it is it is very absolutely.
And this question is also important because the
children from rural areas
who have old curriculum still
consider Uttar Pradesh as one of the sick states. It is possible that their syllabus may
not have been updated but the syllabus which we are
upgrading is being updated keeping in mind UP.
Sir,
I would like to know from you from Ananda's perspective. Jitendra Sir,
from Ananda's perspective, I would like to know
that you are
a very good lion, a famous poet, you
people will find the name, it is the age of Google.
So he said that it would be a different matter if the entire earth also supports him.
But if you support me even a little then it is a different matter.
Ananda Good Morning to everyone. From Ananda's
perspective, I would say that
whatever development is to come now will not come from tier one or tier two
cities, it will come from rural areas.
Exactly right,
what is the second thing that the
milk procurement
centers, we have our VLCs, around
6500-7000 in UP, the milk collection from those centers is done
morning and evening
through the farmers and they get a regular income,
money goes into their account after every 10 days,
so this type of income is
received by the farmers through out three times a month and
gradually I am seeing that there are
around 1 lakh 7900 villages in UP and the penetration
of procurement in Uttar Pradesh has been done
in around 25 to 35000 villages and the focus of the government at this time is that
in 90% of the villages of Uttar Pradesh, every farmer who is
producing milk should be procured from the mill
and apart from this, if
you see the income of the farmer,
in the last 5 years or last 10 years, he used to get ₹18 to
₹20 per liter. Today's rate
is ₹
and I think that in the coming time it will
go up to 70, 80, 100 because the policies
of the government are pro-farmer and
our prosperity is going to come from there
and as far as Ananda's perspective
is concerned, I think in this
sector Ananda is doing a very good job and
by collecting milk and paying on time to
the farmers, Jai Sir, I would like to know from you
Jai Gupta Sir, this is our regional head of SIDBI
and that you do not do direct financing.
Your financing means
not even direct consumer. You are through the channel
, through the banks.
Sorry
financing has been a very important issue.
For all those people who
want to do something. In the last few years, when
I talk to people from small to big about financing
and the
founder of Volti EV who is with us, Varun ji, Varun
Chaturvedi ji, his tenure is around 10 years, that is
around 10 years.
So if I look at the last 810 years,
I think financing is
no longer a big issue for any company.
If your vision is right, if your
product has substance in whatever you want to bring,
then there are people willing to invest in it.
This is my own personal
experience. Whether you are able to reach him or not is
another matter. I would
like to know from the perspective of SIDBI,
what has been your view regarding the last 5-6 years
? Regarding the availability of financing in Uttar Pradesh
and especially the demand,
what kind of demand was coming in the last 5 years.
What kind of demand is coming now?
What kind of demand and financing do
you think is required in UP?
I would like to know your perspective on this.
Thank you Jha sir. I would like to make a slight correction
to your statement that we are an
indirect financial institution. It's not like that. For the
last 20 years, we have been directly approaching our
sector of Micro Small and Medium
Enterprises
and also financing them directly.
Okay, I have just finished reading your sir's exam, so
we were discussing it with him also.
And we also offered them that we can
directly provide them
yes consumer, I was talking about direct consumer
financing.
Yes. So direct means
you are not in retail financing. You are
also into retail financing.
You are in retail. Yes yes yes yes that's what
I'm trying to say.
Sanjeev, Sanjeev Kumar Jha ji
can take direct loan from SIDBI. What I
mean to say is
yes, if you have Udyam registration then
yes that is what I was trying to say.
So SIDBI stands for Micro Small and Medium
Enterprises. So our first
condition is that whoever I
am financing, whether directly or
indirectly, should have MSME
certification. So,
if I talk about Uttar Pradesh today, then
any MSME of Uttar Pradesh, if
they want to start any business, be it
in trading or service or
manufacturing, then either to
set up their project or to modernize their
project to expand it further
or if you have the
requirement of working capital, then end to end
products are available with us.
We also have a good collaboration with IIT Kanpur.
Wherever SIDBI is
running its incubation centre. So, if
you have an idea that you
want to incubate,
you can take your ideas further through our association with IIT Kanpur.
As far as you talked about the possibilities in UP,
I feel that just as
UP is the heart of India,
similarly the MSME segment is the heart of any state.
Now it would not be an exaggeration for me to say this.
You might have heard many times that MSM is the
backbone of the Indian economy.
How do they contribute to the GDP?
How do they contribute to employment opportunities?
And as an
apex financial institution which works
for the promotion, development and financing
of MSMEs, the role of Sibli becomes very important.
Correct.
Looking at the potential of MSME in UP, as of today, if I
talk about a year or two years ago,
SIDBI hardly had six or seven branches,
but today we have
15 branches here and we are going to open a branch in Jhansi also.
So there is a
lot of potential for MSMEs for us. And as far as
sector specific matters are concerned, whether it is
Defence Corridor or manufacturing
or if we are talking about food processing, then it is
food processing, textile park,
SIDBI has different products for all these major activities. It
is an innovative product. And the biggest thing that
comes to any industry is that of two
seasons. Capital and Collateral. Meaning
MSMEs do not have capital. Nor do they face the
challenge of fulfilling the collateral requirements when they take the loan. So SIDBI
also has a solution for these two seats. Now since there is
shortage of time in this forum, I will not go into much detail.
But you have an affordable
credit, an easy [clears throat] way
of credit and we are a digital bank.
So here that process also happens completely
digitally. Be it your loan
appraisal or documentation or
disbursement. So the
combination of these three things of ease of doing business is available to you with SIDBI. Thank
you.
Thank you. Ah DP Singh Sir how do you
as President of SOM UP UK
see this thing which is Mission UP20240.
From your perspective, where do you see it today
? Where do you think
we will be by 2047?
Will you reach first or will you reach later?
Thanks Jaji. Yes,
and I welcome all our panelists on behalf of the Associated
Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Uttar
Pradesh, Uttarakhand. Let me
tell you that our
target is to
take India to $5 trillion in 2047
and we have placed ourselves in the competition that
we will take it to $1 trillion in 2030 itself.
Yes, this is the target of UP,
which I am seeing, all
our colleagues sitting here or our industry
partners who could not come here due to
some reasons, our panelists sitting here,
all of them know that we are moving towards
making Uttar Pradesh the number one state right now
and in this, cooperation of every person is a
must and we are doing it too
because our leader is like this, our
most respected Yogi Adityanath ji,
look at the state, whatever target is set in the country,
we are trying to take Uttar Pradesh to number one in almost every field. So
that
our Uttar Pradesh becomes the leading state of the country
and works as the engine of growth.
So you can certainly imagine
that we are going to be one of the highest contributing states in the country towards that goal.
We will definitely deliver five clear by 47.
We are
taking this as our target. In this context,
you might have seen that recently we had invited
ambassadors from about 40 countries across the world
and we
told them about our state.
All our ministers have just said many things. All of you are
saying the same thing that we should
first tell our state that whatever is visible is what sells. Till now
we only looked at the models of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
But today our
Uttar Pradesh is leaving everyone behind and moving into the race for number one. Just now
Nitin ji told Ananda that we have become the
first in milk production. We have entered the field of agriculture. In
this way we are achieving all our goals in different areas.
In which we used to talk to our Shrivastava ji
many times. So we are
also doing a lot of work in the field of export.
That's why we just organised a mango festival.
Almost all our mangoes from Malihabad and
our representatives from around 20 countries had come to the Mango Festival at that time.
In which there were
around four to five ambassadors. Then there were the Trade
Commissioners. We have tried to penetrate into Europe.
Our mangoes were not exported to America. I
sent my mangoes to the ambassador there and fed them to him.
He was unable to come on his own. His Ah
Trade Commissioner was able to come.
We penetrated into Canada. We are
not able to go to Japan right now. But we will
touch on those as well. So in this way
our economy is growing in every field. So
we are looking at how we can take our state
to its leading role. So
definitely we will achieve that target by 47 in
which Uttar Pradesh will play a
major role.
Thank you very much. Before I
come to Alok Srivastava Sir, let me
understand his point of view. I would like to tell you one thing
that this session is not a closed end.
All of you are partners in this.
Its stakeholders and wherever you feel that
you did not understand something from any of our respected speakers. However, this will happen
less. But if it happens then please do let me
know. raise hands. Tell the name. If you have any
questions, you can definitely ask. We do
n't need to wait for any question and answer session for that. We can ask from there.
Alok Sir, now
Sir, having a consumption economy has its
own advantages.
But UP consumption, we entire India has been a
consumption driven economy. Now we are moving
towards production driven economy
and exports play a big role in it.
Just now the Minister said that we all
know that through ODOP, through Wonder Street One
Product, now we are taking it to the block
level, sorry, now we are taking it to the block level.
So,
exports are going to play a very important role in all this. It has happened
before and is going to happen again.
So, from your perspective, how do you see the Federation of
Indian Export Organisations,
which is one of the top export bodies
in India
?
If we talk about the last four-five years, how has the export of Uttar Pradesh been
? Which sectors has it been focusing on?
What do you think will happen next? What kind of exports need to be
promoted, which ones need to be given a chance
or which ones can grow significantly in the future?
Thank you very much [sound of clearing throat] Mr. Sanjeev. Before we get into
ours, let us answer your questions. I
would like to give our audience a round of
applause.
Give your thanks. When we
talk about Uttar Pradesh, as
Sanjeev ji said, my name is Alok
Srivastava, this is the highest institution of the Government of India
where we
empower and facilitate exporters and
help them from local to global. When we
look at exports, Uttar Pradesh
is today one of the fastest growing economies in the country. First thing.
Secondly, when we talk about developed India 2047, then
why developed India 2047?
India will move from a developed nation to a developing
nation by 2047 and we will
celebrate 100 years of our independence.
All of you are going to have an important role in that. The
vision of the Honorable Prime Minister is that the
economy of any country can become
strong only when our MSMEs
move forward in the field of exports.
When we talk about self-reliance for ourselves, then
employment for ourselves comes first and
then all those people who can contribute to your journey will have an
important role in the goal of developed India 2047.
When we talk about
Uttar Pradesh. When we talk about Uttar Pradesh,
despite being a landlocked state, Uttar Pradesh is playing an important role
in the field of exports among the top five states. It includes all those
MSMEs, all those small
entrepreneurs who have moved from local to global. The
Honorable Chief Minister just talked about Gujarat that Gujarat is at the top
in GST collection, followed by Maharashtra
in GST collection, followed by Uttar Pradesh.
When we look at exports, we
find that
Gujarat is number one because it is a coastal state. Maharashtra
is at number two. Tamil Nadu is at number three. Karnataka at
number four and Uttar Pradesh at number five. You
said
what growth have we seen in Uttar Pradesh in the last five-six years? If we
talk about 2017-2018, the
total export of Uttar Pradesh was around Rs 88,000 crore.
Today's exports are continuously
increasing rapidly. Uttar Pradesh is a state of unlimited
possibilities. Today, the figures of 25-26 that
we analyzed,
exports worth Rs 21241 crore were done from Uttar Pradesh, in which all
those sectors which are MSMEs
and SMEs which are
contributing to the exports of the state in some way or the other, all of them have
contributed. These
products, whether we talk about leather, we
talk about clothes, we
talk about engineering, food items,
processing, defence production
or service sector, there are many
people who are from hospitality sectors or are
contributing in tourism sectors.
Just on 15th July, under the leadership of the
Honourable Prime Minister, we organised the
flag off ceremony of the free trade agreement between India and Britain across the country and it was
celebrated with great enthusiasm at all the ports of the country.
Why are these free trade agreements
becoming important? This free trade agreement is
continuously making all the countries of the world turn towards India to see
how the
products of the export-oriented states can
reach all the countries of the world. Duty free
products arrived and our
exporters moved ahead rapidly. So, if we
talk about developed India 2047, Sanjeev ji, then let us
assume that the growth engine of the state is
our exports. If we
talk about the backbone of the state's economy, it is our
exports. If we have to create foreign exchange and
generate employment, then
we have no other option except export.
As we talked about the UK,
I will conclude by saying one last thing.
Like we talked about the UK.
Before July 15, any product that went
from India to the state or from Lucknow to the United Kingdom had a
tariff of around five to 70%, and if we talk about processed foods, then it was 70%. After July 15, all those tariffs have become
zero. So these are such opportunities which are
playing a big role in the Developed India Mission 2047 of Uttar Pradesh. So
thank you very much Sanjeev ji. Over to you.
Thank you. And Varun ji Volti Kiwi Varun
Chaturvedi ji ah
Founder CEO
says again I would like to say that it is said that do
not ask the blacksmith about the taste of iron,
ask the horse which has the reins in its mouth.
I think you are one of them because
you started in 2017 and it has been almost 10 years,
you know all those problems somewhere or the other, so in all these
discussions that have happened now, how many
things do you agree with [sound of clearing throat], how many do you not agree with
and what is your view on this because you have
set up a company, you mean you must have
heard the name of Volti TV, if you know about charging
infrastructure, it means it almost started from UP, it
started from this city, if I
am right,
I come from a very small city, from Azamgarh.
Ok. [laughter]
So that's where I started.
So where did you first install your charging station
?
We installed the first one in Bengaluru.
Well, it was installed in Bangalore. You went out in that too. Okay, no problem.
nobody. So
how do you see this journey of 10 years
and the future of Uttar Pradesh when we talk about 2047, then from
your perspective, from the technology
perspective, in a new I, he was also in front of us, the
founder of Notepedia, I
wanted to know from him also that you have started a new work, so how does it feel
from your perspective,
but right now I would like to know from you
[sound of clearing throat]
thank you Sanjeev, so see, any new
startup or at first everyone is a startup.
Later comes MSME. So
he needs two things. The first
is policy. So when we started
in 2016-17, the EV policy was just framed
and launched. So the first road
block that happens today is if we
talk from the perspective of UP, then UP has a very
attractive EV policy, whether it was
manufacturing or not, it was
not there then, it was notified in 2022
and is still running, at that time the Indian
Government launched it and the second biggest
hurdle which was being discussed right now is
financing, for any new startup or
any company, especially
in the MSME sector, financing working capital
or setting up a new manufacturing unit is
very important because no
one brings such a huge capital from home.
Absolutely.
So in today's perspective, if I
recap the journey of the last 10 years,
we have seen all the hurdles. I have seen all the ups
and downs. But the
result of that today is completely due to the
support that the government gave us in terms of
policy making. Second Financing. There are
many institutions for financing.
Of course SIDBI is one of them. There are
many banks that provide green
funding and even private investors.
And thirdly,
how to promote new technology. Even
if we are talking about a 1 trillion
economy in UP in the next five years, the
government is focusing on all the emerging sectors like AI, digital infrastructure, semiconductor, electric vehicle, tourism,
because traditional businesses are already running.
Opportunity investment and employment are going to come in the new businesses.
So for that it is very important
that a proper policy framework should be made from the government side
and after making it, it should be
implemented and
a perfect example of that is my own company.
I started in 2017 from Azamgarh.
Now my company registered here in Lucknow. We are
working across India.
We have presence across India on pan India basis.
I think Maharashtra has the maximum number of charging stations.
No, most of our population is in the southern part.
Now UP is the target because now the
policy framework is being implemented here.
We are starting manufacturing here.
We are also working on the requirements and tenders of many governments here
in private public partnership.
And I also feel
very proud to say that from up you
can start anything. The government has very
good policies. Very good supports.
And one point that was probably on our agenda was
that we are the producers. Same time we are a
demand market as well.
Correct. UP itself, you are talking about 20% population,
so if we talk about EV sales,
UP is at the top in India
and it is consumed in UP only. Be it
three wheeler sales or two wheeler
sales. Same way we are producing maximum number of semiconductor
phones
in UP. More than 60-65% of the production
is in UP. So there are many opportunities. But the thing is
that if the person who takes the risk gets a little bit of
government policy financing at the right
time, then he will get the same outcome as me.
Agnihotri sir, please
say sir.
Policy is important.
More than that, I think the
stability and sustainability of the policy is important.
I am alright! Absolutely fine.
Thank you. So, what do you
think now, the policy we were talking about in Uttar Pradesh,
in fact,
we were talking about it across India, but the states which have done good
work are moving ahead well.
How important do you think where we stand in terms of policy sustainability is for any business
? Are we heading towards 2002, ah 2047, are we heading
in that direction?
The answer is absolutely yes. And
in any venture, I mean as a student you can talk about it
and as a technologist as a
policy maker the real effects come from compounding.
Starting from weight loss. I mean it
ends and when does compounding happen?
When the system is stable.
Whatever new snowball effects you
generate when the critical point is passed
for any business. So
looking back at the past, I mean the government has indeed
provided a very stable
platform and today the policy outcomes or the kind
of bets the government is taking on
future entrepreneurs or people who want to
start these kinds of ventures, it is only because
now the compounding effects are
starting to show.
You never talk about such large check sizes
even instructions like Sibi and
RDI funds that is coming along we are
entering that era of critical point is passing.
So, uh 2047 I mean I think we're all
set. No problem late. It just has
to remain stable. The compounding effect is
if something breaks down then to build it back it
takes a huge amount.
Jitendra Sir, I will again take this forward
with you. Ah Mike please. Yes.
Oh, okay, okay. Thank you. Now it
seems that in Uttar Pradesh
and many other states, we have infrastructure,
stability,
money and people who can make
very good use of all this. My
genuine question, meaning a very fundamental question, is
how can we maintain this, this
is important. Getting to the top is
not that important. It is important to stay on top.
Okay, right? So how
can we stay on top of that? Can you maintain this
? What is Ananda's perspective on this?
Basically, apart from Ananda perspective, if we
look at it from a general perspective, then one of the
capabilities that we have when there is
attitude development,
our population is in Uttar Pradesh which is the
highest, I think it is very high in the world also,
25 crore people live here and about 56% of the
people are below 35 years of age. There is a huge
opportunity in UP
by engaging such a huge youth population in the right
way and what we are thinking about
Vision 2047 that we will become a 1 trillion economy, then
these people will do it, what we are
talking about today, I think the coming
generations who are not even born yet will
go and do their work in 2047, so
their work will have to be started from now, that is
called gaining an attitude knowledge. I have done
BA, B.Sc, MBA, IIT and
a lot more. But there is a skill which is
developed, which is called the
ability triangle, a lot of work has to be done in that skill in the ability triangle.
I
think if we give the right direction to the youth, only then will
we be able to
take Uttar Pradesh much further.
Because if
you look geographically, it is about 550 km from Uttar Pradesh.
40% of
India's population lives within this distance. The population remains.
So there is a huge opportunity
for us and a lot of work is being done in infrastructure development. The
government's
policies are very positive. Every day something
new or the other comes to us in the latest news
that a form has been formed by UP Agriz.
Yes
and a lot of entrepreneurs are coming to that UP agriculture.
People not only from here but also from outside are coming who
will do a lot of work in UP and
many such talks are going on regarding carbon credits in which
70% of the jewellery will be used for export.
We are having
these kinds of conversations.
So I feel that the future
of UP is going to be very good.
But there is a need for skill development which I will
retrace and I will say again. I think there is a great need to
give right direction to the youth and skill development
in every sector. There is
a vast ocean of AI and
skill development and the confrontation between both.
I won't touch that right now because it's
like a fifteen box. Once it
opens, many things will come to light.
But one thing that's nice
[sound of clearing throat] is we have the head of Sydney.
How many of you
are businessmen here? I accept almost all of them.
Anyone need money finance
? It's in
front here, sir. You can talk, you can ask. If you have
any problem or any question, please
tell us the name of your company and then ask the question.
Good afternoon. I am Dr. Nida. I am the
CEO of Integral Startups Foundation
which is an incubation center of Integral
University and that is recognized by
Staten UP Government of UP as well as
Ministry of MSME. So my question to Jai
Gupta ji is that we are currently
nurturing more than 100 startups and
grass roots innovators and a recently
graduated startup which is into
manufacturing of organic Khadi is now
generating a revenue of more than Rs 35 crore
and exporting its products to
almost all the European countries. And
generating livelihoods for 3,500 plus rural
women. Ah since you have just mentioned that you
support the Incubation Centre of IIT
Kanpur. What support can we look forward
to from SIDBI SN Incubation Centre?
Thanks. Thanks for your question. So as
I told earlier, SIDBI supports the
MSMEs in their entire growth story and
growth journey if I can say so. In so if you are a
startup with an idea then IIT
Kanpur is there to support you as a part
of incubation centre. Now once your idea has gone
grown up and it has become a little
reality but you are still yet to stabilize
your operations then just to inform you that we also
manage funds like UP state we
are managing we are the fund manager for
startup fund of 1000 crore and parallelly
at the pan India level we are managing fund
of funds operation which is a 10,000 crore
funds of Government of India. So when
you are yet to stabilize your idea
and then you are still in the growth part then through the
kind of funds you can get your
equity support
[nasal sound] many times the
equity does not suit you so to take care
of that we have come up with this scheme where in we
finance your venture as a part of
venture debt also because generally what happens because
of your capital
constraints you do not meet the basic
banking requirement if I talk about normal loan
products like your
equity ratio and TOL up to tnw where in the
general banking they ask for for each one
of your rupee I can go ah funding you up to
₹3 but because of capital constraints you do not get that kind
of funding from the
normal bank. So, for that, we are having
this venture date concept also. And once
your operation stabilized like just like him there like his been
10 years old
startup. His operations have already
stabilized. So, I can suggest him a
various SIDBI loan products which is a
basically debt funding. Where in I can
finance you for singing up of your
project for purchase of your machines, for
your solar financing, your working capital,
anything and everything. And at the growth
stage now if you want to fly and then I see that there is
scope for you to list your
company in the market I can support you for
IPO funding also and SIDBI we are a
patient capital in future also so if I see
the opportunity I can be your equity
partner also sir there is a plethora of schemes
and product
just one more question like if a
startup is incubated at our
incubation centre and not IIT Kanpur
then also they are eligible for the support
from SIDBI.
Please come back I didn't get you.
If the startup is not incubated
at IIT Kanpur and the startup is already
incubated at our incubation centre then also
the startup is eligible for the
support that you are mentioning.
Yes, yes, why not, why not. But But I want to I want to
put in one rider. Ah
everybody thinks that's okay, I am eligible.
Banks are not funding me why and all those
things. So there should be a clear
differentiation between you being eligible and
then you being considered as a bankable also
so there is a gap in that the moment you fill the
two gaps that you are also eligible and
you are also bankable you are going to get the
support from the banking fraternity
thank you someone else good right there next to you on
this side
yes
ji
good afternoon so I am Vikas founder of
Sitabians IP. So I just want to ask
a question about exports which you were talking about
and SIDBI of course, we are always
interested in MSB as to how to get
financing. So if we have reached
a level of technology readiness five, TRL
five we say where the prodtotype is
ready and we have tested for example in
Indian you know market but hum jaise usko leke jaana chahte hain launch karna rhe ho, then
what support can we expect
from probably you know from
financing side and from export side,
give on example is Solve Intelligence, there is
a company in our you know field which has the
support of 50 million USD. And
in India we are already making payments to the US.
But if we want to bring USD back here using
innovative solutions, then from one platform like
SaaS platform etc., we can
export you know US users back to their own
solution as a better you know
SaaS product through. So what
support can we get in that? Can you give some
suggestions and
would you like to change to me? Or to yes
or so I could understand your activity
and it's purely intangible in nature. So
what I suggest is that you can
connect with any of our fund of fund
managers and then you can get this venture
funding for your requirement. I think that would be
the most suitable product for you.
Adding to the point, as you said, if you
want to set up your own venture
in USA, then Export Import Bank of
India, Exim Bank of India is there to
assist you in setting up any kind of
project and business overseas from India
to the particular market. The
Government of India has
allocated a lot of funds
through a certain special mechanism, be it
line of credit or any
kind of collaboration, if you
want to work in foreign markets,
then Exim Bank of India has its office in Lucknow. He will
definitely help you on the basis of your project, he will
definitely support you to
boost exports from the state as well. Thank
you. Before I wrap up this session.
I would like to start with a question from all of you, Varun ji. The
question is the same. In our target of 2047,
what do we have to do by 2029-30 so that
we can come very close to that target?
According to you, what is that one thing that
we definitely have to do by 2030?
See, it is not that there is only one
point,
what is the most important according to you? The main point regarding
that is
investment,
okay,
because the basic core of any industry, whether it is
in UP or outside UP, everybody wants
investment and investment should come
from even banks and foreign countries, then
investment will happen only through scalability funding.
And then only you can able to sustain
your product and scale your product and then
whatever the demand is in the geography you
can go there.
Alok Sir, what is your view
if we talk about what should be done by 2030
? For example, the Uttar Pradesh government has set an
export target of Rs 4 lakh crore by 2030,
which is currently Rs 2 lakh crore. If
we have to achieve that target, we
need to strengthen MSMEs
and most importantly, we
need to skill them. When we have the
skilled manpower we want, be it in the form of
skilling or
mentoring, when our
industry becomes strong, then
we will be able to achieve any target.
It is our perspective that skilling is
the need of the hour.
Skill. So investment skills. DP Sir, I want to
add to that that look, in the coming time, it is
possible that in the next 10 to 15 days, we will upgrade
your existing manpower here
or
how can we further skill your industry, only skills are being
talked about, skills are being talked about
but today we are only giving traditional training to our fitters,
electricians,
plumbers
or even those who have
not taken training, how will those workers
work now, how will we scale up, so to
scale up, then right now we have
Dassault System, you
all must have heard about its software,
any big company in the world,
every person uses Dassault System,
which is a French company
and that software is its, be it Mercedes
, BMW or your Boeing or
Rafale and whoever you can name, they
supply that software to all of them.
We have signed an agreement with them, in
collaboration with Invest UP, we have identified
about five to six such places where your industry is located,
where we can go and take
your existing semi-skilled or
unskilled people towards skills.
Those who are skilled, from the foreman's side to the
supervisor's side, we will equip them with AI.
How can we take them and ourselves forward by connecting them with robotics?
So all this we are going to do further
skilling, now skilling reskilling is
more important. We will take forward our existing unit.
Jai Sir, according to you, three things have come out
so far. What do you think is the most important
thing? According to
me, realignment of all these factors is
very important. You
cannot quantify and identify a particular
set of processes and practices which
is going to lead us to 2047 India. As they
say, unless all four wheels of the vehicle move
in the same alignment, in the same direction, at the same
speed, you
cannot reach your goal. I believe
whether it is RAD, government
policy, capital investment
, skilling, marketing,
finance through banks and
financial institutions. If all these
factors do not realign and
move in the same direction with the same approach, then
we will not be able to imagine a developed India as per
your expectations. According to
me, I think strengthening of the
rural economy and investment in rural
India, rural Uttar Pradesh, that will add a lot
of value because still 68% of the consumption happens in rural areas.
Right?
And 70% of the population remains the same. So we will
strengthen it, only then our
strength of one trillion economy will
come from there by 2030. However, now I
feel that a lot of work has started happening. Your
Agnihotri Sir, what is your perspective on this
? Like a technocrat,
just hire the best people you possibly can get.
Talent is the only thing which is the
limiting factor. There
is a classic example. There
are so many knowledge videos on YouTube. But how many
people read it? Still right? Scarcity Remains
Exactly the Same. Thank
you.
I would like to conclude this session here with these very valuable thoughts and suggestions from all of you.
Thank you all so very much. If we
have any questions, we can take them later. You
can take it during lunch time. Can be taken offline.
You can write to them and
we can interact with them in other ways.
I am in between that, if you want
you can talk through me.
It is available directly as it may be. So
now I conclude this session here
and thank you all very much for coming here.
