Video summary

The video features a reaction and discussion of the season finale of the series *Panchayat*, focusing heavily on the dramatic conclusion of the local election results. The reactors express their excitement about watching the final episodes, noting that while only Patreon members had seen the show prior to this release, they are now caught up with the rest of the audience. A significant portion of the conversation revolves around the character Pranabji, who loses the election despite his deep desire for power and position. The reactors praise the writing for making his loss feel realistic and devastating, as his identity and self-worth were so tightly bound to his political role. They discuss how this defeat opens up new narrative possibilities for the characters, allowing them to explore themes of failure, regrouping, and finding purpose outside of politics, rather than simply maintaining the status quo. The discussion also touches upon the interpersonal dynamics between the main characters, particularly the tension between Pranabji and his wife, Perlan. The reactors analyze a harsh moment where Perlan confronts him about his motivations for running, suggesting he was driven by ego rather than genuine service to the people. They debate whether her outburst was justified given their history of conflicts or if it was too harsh for the timing, acknowledging that such raw emotional exchanges are often regretted in real life. Additionally, there is a lighthearted segment where the reactors recount their own recent dining experiences, including trying an Indian bistro near the Groundlings theater and discussing various food items like samosas, branzino, and tuna sandwiches, which serves as a casual interlude before diving back into the show's plot. Looking ahead to the future of the series, the reactors confirm that Season 5 is set for release in 2026 on Amazon Prime Video, though an exact date has not been announced yet. They express hope that the show will continue beyond its current run, comparing the potential ending to the unsatisfying conclusion of *Deadwood* and wishing for a proper wrap-up similar to the special movie HBO eventually produced. The group also speculates on what might happen in the next season, joking about the characters moving to Siberia or forming a band, while seriously noting that the writers have plenty of material to work with as the characters face their new reality without political power. Finally, they mention the lack of an Indian equivalent to the Emmys for television and express interest in interviewing cast members once the show continues, hoping to get insights into how the experience has impacted their careers.

Great. >> Uh anyways, uh so very excited to see how they finish this season. Uh and uh excited to be caught up with everybody now. So, let's get into this episode. >> Let's go. Is that the first time we've ever seen him might be. >> Oh. >> Nice. Nice. It's his results, not the election results. Of course they do. We got to support you. >> [laughter] [clears throat] >> Is this something you guys do? And here's the site like common for results and stuff like that. Crack them open. Do it now. She got the results first. >> You're not supposed to know. You're not supposed to know. They don't know that means >> [laughter] >> All right, yeah. Of course. How long does it take for a local election to get the results in? Yeah, but you said you'd leave. You guys need to figure out what this is. Mhm. >> There always is in an election. Overconfidence is not good. Why should I have a bit in? >> [music] >> In case you didn't know, you only put the bit in if you're riding it or leading the horse. If it's just standing around, especially if it's eating, it's just have a harness on. Dude. Abhishek, you constantly just screw the pooch. You just want your pity. For what? Yeah. >> What's sweet in the message we look at the general of you? >> How could you Tell me how to love you. >> [laughter] >> Just say it, admit it, and kiss. >> I meant it. Resign you got to lay up. >> I got her that you do have to have to do that many of you can give me more than you can say to take care. >> Yes, you can. >> I have checked has no game. >> Awful. It's painful to watch. You need Isn't it? >> [laughter] >> Yeah, that's what you deserve, bro. I hope that was in prompt. I hope that just happened. >> [laughter] >> Oh, I thought that was him on the motorcycle. Uh-oh. Yeah. She just ordered them. Damn straight woman. We don't want samosas. The person that was there first. >> [laughter] >> No, I have nothing else to say. Aw, she's going to call daddy. Call him daddy. Why she calling daddy? Yeah. >> He just said, "Don't stir up any problems." >> Bob, he did punch out of sight. >> Yep. >> And he's about to be there, too. >> Yep. >> Also, who is with us? >> [laughter] >> I'll take the fresh ones. >> It's funny. They're just doing it out of principle now. >> Let her take the old stale ones, Rinky. >> [music] >> We can throw down right now if you want. Do you mind if anyone else around you? >> YEP. >> DAMN. DAMN STRAIGHT. >> YEP. Damn straight. >> We're even. >> [laughter] >> Ah, Rinky is turned on. >> [music] >> That's right. Let's go. Tell your man what to do. [clears throat] These two are so hot for each other. >> [laughter] >> I FEEL OUR THEIR FIRST KISS COMING ON. AFTER THAT hot encounter, their first kiss is happening now. >> It's not. >> Yes, it is. I called it. >> At most, it'll happen at the end of this end [music] of the episode. >> Mhm. >> After that encounter, they are both They've been in love and now they're hotter than all get out. THERE IT IS. COME ON. TOLD YOU. IT'S A WRONG TIME. >> ROJO. RINKY. They wake up naked on the tower. The next scene was just them naked in the tower. >> [laughter] >> Oh, I love this guy. All right, the results are in. Do you mean you people? Yeah. You give them guns. I feel like you should give them a hand guns. I don't think they're going to be shooting long range. Seriously. >> [laughter] >> Someone I'm in love with. Got to go see about a girl. Her sitting there like that with her shoes off and bare feet. That's a very sexy look. You got a lot of the dues left over in college. >> Yeah. >> That is a deep wound. Regardless of who wins, you get a lot of laddoos. If a backyard bonfire had a voice, it would sound like him. Great writing. >> [screaming] >> That's cause for a recount, no? Nice job. Yeah, that was hard. That was not an easy moment. In a small village, is that enough for a recount or no? Do you even have a recount in a small village? I I think so. Great work by both of them. Believe them 100%. >> [laughter] >> What's going to happen to our little family? >> Yeah, great writing. He knew it in his gut, that's why he ordered the 25. >> [laughter] >> I love seeing him silly. >> Me, too. >> [laughter] >> How soon is the transition as well? >> Yeah. >> Is it immediate in [music] a in a small village like this or is it He lost fair and square. >> Yeah, eat eat the sweet. >> He lost fair and square. >> No, no, no. >> Yeah, he's sad. And then we knew he would >> go. There you go. >> We knew he was going to take it harder than anybody else. >> Of course. >> And uh it was good writing and very nice. He didn't need to offer a sweet to her. >> But he's always been the one that's been the most >> Yes. >> Um agreeable to them. >> Oh, no, he's losing it. >> Cuz we said this is his whole life. IF HE'S ALWAYS BEEN THE ONE THAT CRAVED POWER more than any of them. >> [laughter] >> Now he doesn't know what he is. >> Yep. >> [screaming] >> Exactly. >> Not the whole village. >> Ouch. >> [screaming] >> What do I feel like he's going to drop? I wouldn't leave him alone. Nope, somebody needs to follow him. Pranab Play it pretty fast. Have a transition. But you said it very much in character with the way they wrote him. Oh yeah, we said it a few episodes ago if he loses this is all he's got. >> Yep. >> You got to work now. >> Yep. >> Now Show what you can do. Stay and work for him. Yeah, you're in charge now so that means you are You can't you can't be the one that just like this guy see what's wrong with the village? You are now the ones that's going to get blamed for everything. I would hope in the writers room they came up with this and then they all sat around and went great that's so great and then looked at each other and went what the hell do we DO NOW? >> [laughter] >> HONESTLY IT'S PROBABLY IT'S PROBABLY BETTER FOR them honestly. >> Yeah, no this is way more realistic. >> There's a lot there's a lot you can explore that you haven't explored yet. >> Oh, a ton more. You've got a couple seasons worth of stuff to work with now and it's very realistic. >> Once again at the end hats off to Pranabji. >> Yeah, great moment. >> That's like three episodes in a row where they gave him cuz you knew it like the entire series even though we love Pranabji and we think he's a good guy but he's always been the one that has cared the most in terms of keeping the power. >> The power and the position. >> And it means a lot to him. >> Yeah, it's his one thing that that gives him some level of respect and self-worth. >> Yep. >> And without it, he feels like he's nothing. >> Yeah, I wouldn't have left him alone there at the end. >> No, no, no. I'm surprised Perlan didn't follow him. >> I'm shocked at what uh what she said to him. >> Me, too. >> That was harsh. >> low. >> I mean >> And Perlan's reaction was everybody's like >> I mean, obviously I'm sure she as well I'm sure is taking it hard, of course. Obviously, she lost the election. And so I think those two cared about it more than anybody. Bronwyn G, I think the most. >> Yeah, but she was obviously she might have just said it out of you know, sadness and and anger. >> Um >> And I think it could also be one of those things of cuz they've had big fights before. >> Yeah, you didn't listen to me. >> And I think it might be that I I think it's the I think it's a combination of you just don't listen to me. If you had listened to me and also she she also may be aware of the fact that you know you you you're you're doing it for the wrong reasons. You do The reason you didn't win is cuz you're not doing it wholeheartedly just to serve the people. There's stuff you're doing that's just to be political and to save your position because this is your identity. She knows him better than anybody. Uh but that was not the moment to say that to him. That was rough. But again very How many times does that happen in real life where someone says something and they're like, she probably is going to regret it after, right? >> Yeah, and they um they also gave the um Rinky cuz didn't Rinky ask him to stop smoking? Is that what that that's what happened, right? Or no? Did I forget that? >> I don't remember. >> Because then now that everybody knows he smokes, though. Um I I it's really interesting to bring this element into the next season. Cuz we don't know what ever anybody's wonderful outside of Rinky and Abhishek still like each other. >> Yeah. >> What's going to happen cuz he has an expiration date of he's probably going to leave. >> Yeah. >> Um at some point. Especially with his new bosses. >> be interesting to see what happens. I think I think um like most politicians, he's going to regroup after the devastation of the loss, get past the devastation, and then they're going to look for the opportunities where the new administration is failing, and jump on that as as much as they can and maybe hang on until the next election. But what are they going to do? There's just so much for the writers to work with now. >> Yeah. Um and that was going to be interesting with the new people in charge. >> Right. They've always, the entire series, have just been the See what they're doing wrong. >> Right. >> We want power. See See what they're doing wrong. >> Right. >> You're in charge now. >> Right. >> And they've never come up with an actual solution. >> Only once. >> Yeah. >> The one solution that was a genuine solution happened at the really providential moment of they brought the generators. >> Yeah. >> They did do that. >> But they didn't do that because they care. >> I don't know. Which is usually the case with a lot of things. It's It's politicians do it not because it's really what's best for the people. They do it because it'll make them look like they're doing what's best for the people. >> I did do >> really enjoy our guy being silly there at the end. >> great. >> What's his role going to be, too? >> Yeah. Are they going to get his horse back? Uh what What's Is a whole >> Pralad still is going to be the >> Correct. >> possible MLA >> MLA. So there's just so many things that they can do now. It's so much more believable and just better with the writing to have them lose and move forward. Cuz if they win, it's status quo pretty much. I mean you can do stuff with it but it's not not nearly as interesting. >> Yeah. >> It'd be really interesting to see what they do. Hats off obviously to the entire cast as usual. Um the moment when they found out that they won those two did a Yeah, great job. >> Very good job. >> Yep. >> Um in the last couple of episodes Pradhanji >> And I'm I'm very happy that aside from the early episodes those two that I felt kind of made it go herky-jerky a little bit and didn't feel like Panchayat. >> Yeah. >> The show is still moving on all cylinders and feels uh and every series has that. Breaking Bad has the fly episode. I mean there's every series doesn't have not every episode's a banger. There's always one episode that makes you kind of scratch your head and go uh that was okay. Although I wish Abhishek would. >> Yeah. Nice. And show it. >> And they didn't kiss at the end of this episode. So maybe they'll kiss uh in the 30-year reunion. They'll end the series and then they'll have a 30-year reunion of the Panchayat cast. They'll have a special like they did with Deadwood to finish off. That was so sad. Deadwood should have never ended the way that it ended. It really sucks what HBO and the cast couldn't come to terms with cuz you had it was in the peak of its storytelling. I mean they were just in the meat of the show. >> Mhm. >> And HBO wouldn't pay what they were asking and they said they're not coming back but fans love the show so much that HBO decided eight years later seven years later we'll do a two-hour movie to wrap the stuff up. It just didn't work. It was fine but it just didn't work. >> Mhm. >> the show just ends which is kind of cool but it's not cuz you're like huh? Looking forward to season uh what is it? Is it five or six? How many seasons are there of the show? This was four so season five. I would assume we have a season five coming up at some point in 26. >> Season five release date. Maybe the fall of 26? I think the last one was summer, so it might be the summer. Great. Uh, Panchayat season 5 is confirmed to be released in 2026 exclusively on Amazon. >> Great. >> Uh, with the exact date in 26 not been announced. >> Still to be determined. >> This year or early 2026. If you need white people. I don't know why you would. >> I mean, yeah, there's been so many in the show. >> Has there been one? >> No. Not one. It's why it's so good. >> We need a um we need a dost from the show. >> Yeah, I would love anybody. I would love to talk to any actor from the show who's a regular part of the show. Would love to talk to them about what this experience has been like, uh, how it's changed their career, um literally every every regular cast member on this show would love to have a conversation with. >> Yeah. I think it'd be quite interesting. Um, and it feels like we should have talked to somebody about it. >> Yeah, right. >> From the show. Granted, we watched it. I mean, we just started this year, so. >> But we did catch up. >> if we started it in the beginning of the season like when >> like when it was taking off. Yeah. Maybe what maybe as many places do, as we approach the launch of season 5, be a great promo thing to do. Talk about it with we could interview somebody just before the drop of season 5. Does You would think I know this. Is there a comparable thing to the Emmys in India? Cuz to my knowledge there is not. >> Emmys. >> There is the International Emmys, but I mean, is there just like they've got Filmfare and other things for cinema? >> Screen fare. >> Do they have awards >> The Screen Fare awards. >> television. >> The Laptop Fare awards. >> Cuz if they do, it's on the low down. I haven't heard anything about I don't know. Anyways, that was great. >> Yeah. Really enjoyed that. >> Me, too. >> to uh it'll be sad that we're not going to get to uh >> Yeah, have to wait. >> have new episodes until they're um they're new. >> We'll be up to speed with everybody and thankfully we didn't get spoilers. So, thank you very much stupid family for not spoiling stuff. >> And uh I guess when like the new trailers and >> Yeah. >> stuff come out of it and do they I believe they release them one by one, I think. Um So, that'll be fun to uh experience with everybody else. >> I think personally that the four main guys are probably, my guess is they're going to go through a uh complete transition in their lives. They're going to dress like women. They're going to move to Siberia and start a band. And they'll call themselves the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Thank you. That was free. You're welcome. COMEDY. >> [snorts] >> Let us know what you thought about the uh episode and the series overall. Did you like this season? What are your thoughts on it? And anything else we need to know? Down below. ON TO THE NEXT SEASON. >> [music]
