Video summary

The video begins by building upon a previous lesson regarding the connection between the base chakra and the navel, introducing the next step in ascending energy flow toward the solar plexus and beyond. The instructor demonstrates a specific technique where one squeezes the perineum while taking a sharp gasping breath, a method designed to stimulate tingling sensations in the ears and neck while causing the eyes to open naturally. This physical action creates the necessary momentum for energy to travel upward from the lower body through the spine, bypassing the need for conscious force as the contraction naturally directs the flow toward higher chakra centers. The process involves feeling this energy rise up the back of the body, pass between the shoulder blades, and reach the base of the skull known as the jade palace before culminating at the crown of the head. Once the energy reaches the top of the head, it is allowed to relax and flow down the front of the face, through the throat, and into the solar plexus before returning to the navel, effectively completing a circular path known in Chinese traditional medicine as the microcosmic orbit. This cycle utilizes two major energy channels: the governing vessel that runs along the back of the body and the conception vessel that runs down the front. By squeezing the perineum, the practitioner initiates the upward journey along the spine to the crown chakra, which opens when the eyes are open, while closing the eyes allows the energy to gently descend through the chest and gut to the dan tien. The instructor notes that while the gasping breath is an effective tool for beginners to feel this intense upward movement, it can eventually be replaced by more subtle nasal breathing and gentle contractions as the practitioner becomes more comfortable with the internal flow. To further strengthen this connection, the video explains how these internal movements relate to external practices like "roll back and push," creating a stronger integration of qi energy throughout the body. The core principle emphasized is that moving energy upward requires an active squeeze at the base to generate momentum, whereas allowing energy to move downward simply involves relaxation. By repeatedly practicing this cycle of squeezing to lift the energy and relaxing to let it fall, the practitioner trains their body to feel the continuous circular motion of energy through specific points. This foundational work prepares the viewer for future lessons that will combine these techniques with grand tai chi and the carrying of the cauldron, ultimately aiming to facilitate a seamless and powerful circulation of life force within the entire system.

so in my last lesson i shared with you how to squeeze a perineum and then move the energy up to your navel so what i actually essentially showed you how to do is connect your base chakra with your navel chakra that's right we just made that connection because we energetically squeeze that energy up okay so now what you want to do is now connect that and move the energy even higher up to your solar plexus and higher than that as well so we're going to start with that again i'm going to squeeze our perineum breathe in okay do the gasping breath and then when you do the gasping breath you may also already feel the the back of your neck tingling okay right and your eyes opening up okay um that's actually exactly what needs to happen so you're gasping right you're you can feel your ears tingling you can feel your eyes open up you feel your head expanded and what's actually happening is you're just opening that chakra up and because you squeeze this part naturally it has to go somewhere that energy so it actually naturally goes up to your higher chakras higher chakra centers so i'm going to squeeze okay and next i wanted to go through the back okay so there's a point behind your don tian called the ming bun okay it's right behind your down tank you go straight back it's on your spine okay so i'm squeezing up contract the the the navel and then i'm going to feel the energy going up to my spine then i'm going to feel my energy going up between my shoulder blades and then up to here what we call the jade palace which is right in the base of your skull in the back of your head okay and then the energy goes to the top of your head the crown and as you relax it falls down the face down your throat in the front down the front your solar plexus and then back to your down chain so what we're doing we're making like a like a circle coming from the bottom from the back the spine okay up the neck around the top of your head in front of your face down your throat to your sternum or your solar plexus into your gut to your don ten so we're making that cycle and what we call this is called the microcosmic orbit so in chinese traditional medicine there's two major channels in your body there's a governor's governor channel which is the back and then the conception channel or conceptual channel uh in the front also called a functional channel so but generally it's the governing channel in the back and then the conception channel in the front so what we're doing is we are moving our energy up the governing vessel out governing channel so we're going from our opinion up to our main moon okay up to the middle of the back up to jade palace around the crown then we're coming down to the conception channel which is the front of your body and down to your downtime so now what you want to do is to imagine that whole connection okay so squeeze okay and imagine it going up and i think going up the spine eyes might open more and it comes up to this the crown now do what we just did with the ground tai chi just imagine so you now your eyes kind of close a little bit more and relax and then we just did that connection right remember the connection from the crown all the way down to your duncan so we already did that part that's the easy part if you practice this should be easy so let it come back down to here goes down to your don tien stays there and then you start over again so and then goes up to the hearings and then as it comes in here when you open your eyes it actually opens the crown chakra okay as you close your eyes it actually closes the crown chakra so that's that's what's happening i'm squeezing my perineum having come up my eyes open my ears open now the energy is here now the energy to the crown now as i close my eyes now the energy kind of starts falling down everything falls down through my solar flexes down to my down tent i feel it in my dan tien feel it there then relax and do this thing again again and then relax okay and some people say you shouldn't do the gasping breath that's okay the gasping breath is just to help you feel that that energy going up to your head maybe that's too strong so uh you can once you do enough gasping breath you don't want to do it you know too much uh now you may want to move to something more subtle so just breathe through your nose but feel the same energy happening okay so i'm doing the same thing except just doing more subtle okay just gentle contractions instead of violent ones so once again i'm squeezing breathing in let's do my back now between my shoulder blades to my neck up to the back of my neck up to my crown then it's coming down i close my eyes it relaxes i feel the energy coming down the front of my body chest and back to my dauntian i squeeze okay okay so what this leads to is something called roll back and push and the lower motion okay so all that's happening right now internally i'm going to show you how to externally practice this so that it creates a stronger connection stronger movement of the energy in your body so i hope you understand how this movement of qi energy is called the microcosmic orbit and what it does is it starts to help you feel the energy flow through the of points in a circular motion so and and also showed you how to activate or kind of like um squeeze and activate that initial flow of energy and how to let that momentum carry that energy up and then let it fall and also explain that when you move energy down you just relax and naturally moves down you want to move energy up you have to squeeze something in the bottom to create that momentum so that it goes up so in the next video i'm going to share with you how to combine the first lesson about the grand tai chi and then carry the cauldron and how to combine what we just learned with that practice
