Video summary

In this Sunday morning reflection, Bridget invites listeners to distinguish between what resides within their hearts and what merely sits upon them as external influences. While acknowledging the inherent kindness and love that exist inside each person, she encourages a mindful focus on outside forces such as health concerns, financial worries, relationship dynamics with children or partners, and major life decisions like moving for a new job. These elements often cloud one's natural light-heartedness and create feelings of frustration because they lie beyond our direct control; we cannot dictate the choices or outcomes of others, nor can we fully command situations that impact us from the outside in. The core message emphasizes that attempting to force these external circumstances into alignment with our own desires is an energy-draining endeavor that leads nowhere productive. Instead of projecting heart-based energy outwardly in futile attempts to guide others, Bridget suggests cultivating reflection and resonance by calling upon spiritual guides or nature spirits for clarity on one's specific role. She reminds us that moments are fleeting and opportunities for correction arise constantly throughout the day, so there is no need to be paralyzed by fear or burdened by regret over past mistakes. The key lies in releasing the baggage of things we cannot control and trusting that life offers multiple chances to start again if a step was missed along the way. To harness this energy constructively, Bridget proposes channeling our desire to help into tangible actions like volunteering for causes where support is genuinely needed or cheering on runners who are walking for a purpose. This shift from worrying about uncontrollable external factors allows us to engage in joy-filled and supportive activities that inspire rather than exhaust us. She uses the analogy of skipping steps when moving house—such as forgetting to secure an apartment before packing—to illustrate how ignoring necessary processes leads to problems, whereas patiently taking one step at a time ensures we do not lose ourselves on the path forward. Ultimately, the video concludes with a heartfelt encouragement to focus entirely on what is currently within your heart rather than being weighed down by outside influences that are neither ready nor ripe for our intervention. By setting aside external burdens temporarily, even just long enough to explore local parks or bring joy into one's immediate sphere, we reclaim our sovereignty and agency in the present moment. Bridget expresses deep gratitude for her listeners' presence on this journey, hoping that this perspective fills them with hope and empowers them to live authentically by focusing on their own internal light rather than the murky waters of external chaos.

Hi, it's Bridget and welcome to Sunday morning coffee. It's a beautiful Sunday. I'm out on a walk with Rosie. And we wanted to connect with you cuz I have a question today on Sunday morning coffee. I got a question for you. Are you ready for it? It might be difficult question actually, but so take a breath in >> [sighs] >> and then exhale out. Most importantly, the exhale. Let's focus on the the [sighs] sigh it out release. Okay, if you do yoga, you get it. Sigh it out. Come on. >> [sighs] >> Okay. All right. The question is what's on your heart? What is on your heart? Not what is in your heart. I know what's in your heart, my empathic friend. I know the sweetness, the kindness, the gentleness, the loving loving energy that is in your heart. But what is on your heart? What is on it? What is just outside of your heart that is influencing it, that is impacting you today? Let's take a moment and feel that as you breathe in and exhale out. Again, with the focus on the exhale. >> [panting] >> Yeah, that. The on part. The outside, just outside of your sacred space, but having some sort of impact on you today. Without judgement of good or bad, we just feel this presence, the awareness of other forces, outside energy, because it does impact us. It does impact you. Of course it does. And when I ask you that question, you think of a couple of things. You see some things in your head right away, don't you? Things pop into your head, circumstances that you either are dealing with or are directly impacting you. Maybe your health, your wealth, or your wisdom. Maybe there's a decision external that could change your life in ways. Maybe you are contemplating a move. Maybe it feels exciting and scary and unknown. And all of the things. Lots of work to do that, isn't there? Oh, yes. Whatever comes into your mind, it could be another person, a relationship. If you've got kids, I got grown some grown kids, some not so grown, some very grown. And yeah, that's on my heart, for sure. Them, their life, their experience, which I absolutely have not much control over. And neither do you. The relationships you have with other people, you don't have control. You, like they upon you, are on the outside of influencing you energetically. But it does impact your energy, doesn't it? Changes your mood, changes your attitude, blends into that brain thought pattern process, influences the heart space rhythm. The light-hearted genuine nature of you, the good kindness of you that echoes out, it gets shady and clouded and murky sometimes, doesn't it? Because of those relationships. Because you care, which is a good good beautiful [clears throat] quality and trait for you. For sure it is. I know it doesn't feel like that so much sometimes. Doesn't feel so much like a benefit, but it is beautiful and I am so grateful that you care so much. And yet, the the that which is on the on the outside is not within your control or command. You could have some again influence in a positive hopeful light-filled way, but you cannot direct or guide others to an outcome, a choice, a decision, a path that you see clearly because they do not. And just like you have been in that place where others have tried to guide and direct you specifically to an outcome, to a path that they think would be the best for you, but they don't know what is it in your heart directly. Just like you don't know what's in your child's heart. You don't know what's in that person's heart directly. You can only see from the outside, from the on the heart space. Which is important. Oh, yes. It is important. It can influence and impact, but it doesn't drive the bus. Doesn't drive the heart bus. I know it's kind of Isn't it frustrating though? >> [laughter] >> It can be frustrating, can't it? Because you care so much and you just want to help and yeah. But guess what? That's taking the energy that you have and trying to push your in out in ways that are kind of futile. They don't really lead to productive, supportive, healthy energy for you or the other person. So, instead of projection of your heart-based energy, allow yourself to have reflection and resonance and loving support. Call in your angels and your guide and your spirit team. Call in your totems, your favorite tree wisdom spirits, and ask what you can do to help. Clear your perspective so you're not clouding the way, you're not presenting fog on the roadway for that other person or that situation. Ask for clarity of your role, your purpose in that circumstance, in that relationship, in that moment. Because it is momentary, it's fleeting, moments are fleeting, life is filled with moments of fleetingness. So, if you screw something up, don't worry, you get another chance. You get another chance to do over. You get another chance. Multiple of them every day is opportunity, every hour, every moment. Don't feel regret. Don't feel paralyzed by fear of not doing enough. It's the doing too much. That's what makes us lose ourselves. Harness that energy that you wish you could help that person that you have in your life that has addiction, for example. Harness that energy and go volunteer somewhere. Be someplace where they need you specifically. Even if it's for a couple of hours, one day, one time. Volunteer to cheer on at the sideline of a race. The runner is running for a cause. The walker is walking for a cause. Do something healthy, productive that engages joy-filled energy, supportive motivational energy that inspires. And that can ease up the pressure or the burden that comes from wanting to create change for someone else or wanting your life to change and you have to patiently step one step at a time walking the path. You can't skip over all the steps. If you were moving if you were contemplating a move because you got a new job or you got married, something fun like that. And you're moving and you skipped over the step of finding a place to live. But you packed everything up and you called the movers and you are done with one job and you're ready to start another and you've got all the you know, all the the pre-employment paperwork done and you've got all the stuff paperwork done and everything. And you get to where you're going, but you don't have a place to live because you skipped over the place of on the path that you were supposed to decide where to live. To find an an apartment or a house. >> [laughter] >> You kind of missed that part. And oh, and setting up the utilities. And trans >> [laughter] >> bring that stuff into your name. You oh, forgot that. So, you don't have a place to live. That's a problem, isn't it? We can't skip the steps. >> [laughter] >> Oh, my friends, you are such gifts. You really are. You have so much beautiful beautiful light and I can I can feel it and I want to say thank you. Thank you so much for listening. For being part of the journey. For not giving up. But focus on what's in today. Because what's on your heart isn't ready, isn't ripe, isn't something that you have direct a sovereignty in or over. No agency lives there of yours. It's not yours. It might be affecting you, affecting you, might feel like it is, but maybe your position today is to release it. Just set it aside today. Set down the baggage. Even if it's just checking your suitcases with the concierge for a day so you can go explore the parks. Oh, yeah. You know what that reference is about, don't you? If you know me, you do. Bring some joy into this sphere today. Thank you so much for listening. I hope we've inspired your spirit, filled you with some hope, and encouraged you. Just encouraged you today. To focus on what's in your heart instead of the outside influences of what's on. >> Mhm.
