Video summary
The video begins with a giveaway announcement for a Nintendo Switch 2, encouraging viewers to subscribe before October 1st to enter. The host then transitions into various gaming news updates, starting with the confirmed release of a Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War bundle for the Switch 2 by the end of September. This bundle includes the Game of the Year and Definitive editions at a significant 50% discount for pre-orders. Additionally, THQ Nordic announced a free upgrade path for owners of the original Epic Mickey on the Switch to receive the upcoming Rebrush version on Switch 2 in October, a move praised as highly consumer-friendly. Other brief updates include an overview trailer for Rayman Legends Retold, which highlights extensive accessibility features, and insights from Sega regarding the future evolution of the Sonic franchise following its resurgence due to recent movies.
A significant portion of the discussion focuses on major restructuring within Microsoft's Xbox division amidst layoffs. While some studios like Ninja Theory faced acquisition failures, others such as Double Fine and Compulsion Games are becoming independent again. The most impactful change involves Halo Studios, which is being downsized and effectively handed over to Activision for management, with around 230 roles lost. This consolidation aims to improve the franchise's direction under better management structures, similar to how Activision handles Call of Duty. The host views this as a strategic move to ensure the longevity of major franchises like Halo by placing them under studios with more successful track records in live-service shooters, though the long-term impact on gamers will take years to fully manifest.
The core of the video is dedicated to new evidence suggesting that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake contains new content. Physical sales in Brazil have already sold out quickly, indicating massive demand for physical copies. However, a major point of contention arises from a clickbait article claiming DLC confirmation, which the host debunks by explaining it refers to previously announced amiibo masks launching in 2027 rather than traditional downloadable content. Instead, the host highlights a video by creator Andress Restart that provides concrete proof of new material. Analysis of the game's menu reveals an empty fifth bottle slot and unexplained UI spaces, strongly implying new side quests or items like a fifth bottle. Furthermore, the discovery of NPCs in Castle Town who do not exist in the original N64 version, such as a blonde woman near the fountain appearing to struggle with a problem, suggests the inclusion of new story elements and side quests that players can interact with.
In conclusion, while some news cycles are marred by misleading headlines regarding Ocarina of Time DLC, there is genuine excitement surrounding the game's expansion. The presence of new NPCs and unexplained menu slots provides strong evidence that the remake will offer more than just a port of the classic adventure. The host encourages viewers to watch the full analysis video for detailed breakdowns of these findings. Overall, the episode covers a mix of industry shifts at Microsoft, positive pricing strategies from third-party publishers, and compelling new details about one of Nintendo's most anticipated remakes, leaving fans eager to see how the final product expands upon the original masterpiece.

All right, everyone. We have a bunch of
news to get into today. But before we
get there, I want to remind you that we
are giving away a Nintendo Switch 2
right now. You can enter through the
link down in the pin comment or the
description. The only requirement to
enter is to be subscribed to the channel
cuz it's a giveaway for our subscribers.
And also folks, the winner will be drawn
on October 1st. So, very, very soon
guys, you got like a week and some
change here. Uh maybe a week and a half
or so to still enter. Really excited to
change up the giveaway as we get into
the month of October because uh it's
going to be some good stuff. Uh before
we get into anything else, I just want
to say thank you for being here. I do
appreciate all of you. We are
approaching 166,000 subscribers. And I
didn't really properly celebrate when we
hit 165,000. I think it's really
important what we're doing here at this
channel. I think we are creating an a
great community. Discuss openly our
thoughts on video games and Nintendo.
Whether we agree or disagree, you like
my Switch 2 Pro video earlier or you
think I should have made it. I really
don't care. What I care is that we have
an open forum for discussion where
disagreement is allowed. So, I thank you
guys for being here and I want to get
into today's news. Today, we have well,
it leaked technically Middleear Shadow
of Mordor and Shadow of War bundle for
Switch 2. And because it leaked, they
decided to just go ahead and drop the
trailer for it. So, that's coming to
Switch and it's coming by the end of the
month. We got to look at that. Uh THQ uh
announced something really cool for Epic
Mickey when it comes to Switch 2. So,
that's actually a really positive story.
Uh Rayman Legends Retold dropped an
overview trailer today and Thunder Stash
Gaming ended up dropping a preview for
the game I want to shout out. So, we'll
get to that. Uh an interview uh with the
people behind the Sonic franchise talk
about the future of Sonic. And also one
aspect of the interview outside of talk
about the future is how they almost
actually cancelled Sonic altogether.
We're actually not going to go over it
during that story segment, so I'll just
mention it now. Sonic was actually going
to be put on the shelf until the Sonic
movie blew up and then they realized
there's a lot of life left in the blue
blur. So, that's not what we're going to
talk about for that interview segment,
but it is from the same interview. So, I
just wanted to bring that up. We're
actually talking about the future of
Sonic. Um, we have some news from Xbox.
And the reason we talk about that in
this video is because this does affect
games coming to Switch 2. Xbox does
bring games over and there's been some
massive changes over at the land of
Microsoft when it comes to Xbox due to
layoffs and restructuring. So, we got to
get into that. Uh, we have then what I'm
calling our Ocarina of Time section. A
whole bunch of new stuff. So, we have
some new key art to show off, guys. Uh,
we have the sales expectations for
Ocarine of Time maybe not being where
they should be as sales are exploding to
the point that we're seeing sellouts of
physical games, physical versions of
Ocarine of Time are selling out before
the game even gets here in certain
countries. So, we got to talk about that
one. Uh, in addition to that, uh, we
have just this really weird, uh, article
that exists where a certain popular
website is clickbaiting the hell out of
Ocarina of Time fans and not doing it in
a way where they're trying to share
something exciting. Well, kind of. Part
of what they're trying to share sounds
exciting, but then you read the article
and that's not really what it's about.
And it's just really, really
frustrating. And this is the problem
with the news industry. I know a lot of
people yell at me for clickbait, but at
least my video is actually about what
the hell I'm talking about in the title.
Their vid, their article isn't even
about what they're marketing on social
media. So, it's very, very effed up. And
I didn't want to end our occitative
like that from the industry. So, I
figured I'd flip turn this around and
show a positive from the YouTube content
creator space. And that is a new video
by Andress Restart today that I want to
highlight some of the things he points
out because it does appear that we have
evidence already that there will be new
content in the game. Now, it is still
obviously speculative, but it's
speculative with evidence and proof.
We're going to go through some of that.
Obviously, I will encourage you to watch
this full video to get all the details.
Uh, but all right, guys. Let's go ahead
and hop into our first story. This one
deals with Middleear Shadow of Mordor.
So, Middle Earth or Shadow Mordor and
Shadow War bundle and now available
pre-order. Uh, it was actually noticed
by someone over on the Nintendo Switch
subreddit. But the thing is, this
obviously led to them being like, "Oh
it's already up on the eShop. We
probably should drop the trailer." So,
what I'm going to do here is play the
trailer for you guys. Uh, I think it's
only up to 1080p. And, uh, yeah, we're
just going to, uh, talk about it. So,
uh, Middleear Shadow of Mordor. I mean,
these games are amazing. I mean, these
are the ones that have that really
unique system in it. Um, you know, it
says, you know, become the grave walker
and and and it has this like revenge
thing where people can come back and get
revenge even after you take them out.
Says in the ultimate bundle for Switch
2. Um, this is this is awesome. And
they're actually doing something really
nice about the pricing on this as well.
So, obviously getting Shadow Mortar game
of the year edition. No real shocker
there. I mean, these games are
fantastic. I know they're a bit older. I
don't really care. A lot of people today
maybe haven't played these once and you
get Shadow War definitive edition as
well uh bundled in, but it's what
they're doing with the pricing on this
that I think is really interesting
because again, these are older games no
matter how good they are. And yeah, the
Nemesis system is what I was referencing
before. It's such a really unique system
to this game. Not a lot of games have
things similar to this where you take
out people then they come back for
revenge and they remember all the prior
things you've done. Um it's really cool
stuff and it is coming out. You can
pre-order now. is coming out uh at the
end of the month. It's coming out on
September 30th. Now, it didn't say that
there, but when you come down here, you
see the September 30th date listed right
here, but this is the big part here.
It's hidden in the text. You have to
read the description for once. It says
Middleear Shadow Bundle includes
Middleear Shadow of Mordor Game of the
Year Edition and Middleear Shadow of War
Definitive Edition. Pre-order now and
get 50%
off. That's right. They're doing a
pre-order special right now on the
Nintendo Switch eHop or Switch 2. You
can pre-order them right now, 50% off.
Just wanted to note, that's so awesome.
They didn't have to do that, but I'm
glad they are. Every now and then, we
see these thirdparty companies be real
Chads out there and give us a good deal.
Uh, yes, the 50% off price, which puts
it around $35, is literally well worth
it for what you're getting here in my
opinion. These games are great. They're
still great today. Pretty much as great
as they were back then, and I think a
perfect fit for the Switch 2. All right,
guys. You know what's also a perfect fit
for the Switch 2? How about Epic Mickey?
Yeah, we're talking about Epic Mickey
because THQ says a free upgrade to
Switch 2 version of Epic Mickey when it
launches. Hell yeah. So, there's a
Switch 2 version of Epic Mickey on the
horizon. And if you own the Nintendo
Switch version, then you'll be entitled
to a free upgrade to the new improved
version. The Switch 2 version of Epic
Mickey Rebrush launches on October 6th,
so it's not long to go. And it says, you
know, this from their Q&A. Can the
Switch One version owners upgrade to the
Switch 2 version for free? Both digital
and physical owners will be able to
receive the upgrades to the Nintendo
Switch 2 version through a free patch on
their Switch 2 console. To do so, insert
your Switch One cartridge into your
Switch 2 and install the game and DLC if
you own it or download and install your
digital Switch One version on your
Switch 2. Then download and install the
upgrade patch. Note that the upgraded
Switch One version and the standalone
Switch 2 version are counted as separate
products by your console. Guys, this is
a Giga Chad moment. This is taking a
page out of the book of well, CD Project
Red, who is also giving us on the 29th
of this month a free upgrade for the
Switcher 3 remaster. Now, I will argue
that they are actually doing something a
little bit different. They're giving you
the DLC whether you bought it or not for
Witcher 3 included with the upgrade for
free. They're not giving you the DLC for
free with Epic Mickey Rebrush if you
didn't already have it. But still, a
free upgrade when they don't have to do
it, and many other companies have
charged, including Nintendo, uh, I think
is nothing but good for us consumers.
So, thank you so much. I will always
praise when this happens. And Epic
Mickey is actually a really good game.
And Rebrushed looks like a lot of fun.
All right, guys. We're going to talk
about Rayman Legends Retold. It's coming
out soon, and they dropped an overview
trailer. Take a look here as we go over
some of the details. Uh, so Rayman
Legends Reto launches on December 3rd
with a broad suite of accessibility
options designed to let players
customize their experience based on
individual needs and preferences. All
accessibility features can be enabled or
disabled independently, including during
co-op play. gameplay assistant tools
like fairy blessing, golden heart, and
autoshoot alongside visual input and
readability options such as high
contrast mode, arachnophobia mode,
enhanced subtitles, and full control
remapping help players tailor Rayman
Legends Retoy to their needs. Um, so
that's really awesome. That's a lot of
stuff they go over in the over overview
trailer. A lot of the accessibility
options. Uh, as an example, fairy
blessing offers an optional gameplay
assistance. So after repeated deaths at
the same checkpoint, Batillaa can offer
the fairy blessing power which grants
invulnerability, flight and self-revival
capabilities. Players can accept a
client or permanently disable the offer
and also activate the feature manually
through settings or speaking with
Patilla. And that is really just neat.
They go over a lot of stuff here um and
new visual stuff and everything. I'm
just really excited for Rayman Legends
Retold. I think that this is a brilliant
game. And I just wanted to make sure we
shout out Thunder Stash Gaming over here
who dropped his Retold and Origins
preview, brand new gameplay and details.
He does go over a lot of stuff in here.
I'm not going to spoil the details that
he goes over because some of it is
different than what they have announced
publicly. I want you guys to go check
out his video. We'll link it down below.
He put it up 7 hours ago. Big shout out
to Thunder Stash Gaming for getting the
scoop and obviously getting the hands-on
impressions. Next up, we got to talk
about the future of Sonic. So Sonic
obviously has been an iconic IP around
for a long time, the literal Sega
mascot. And we talked about earlier at
the beginning of the video how in this
same interview with For Gamer that they
talked about how Sonic almost went away,
but the movies popularity brought him
back. Cool. Nice to see that that is a
way they reinvigorated the franchise. So
now after Frontiers and everything else
they've done with Sonic since, what does
the future hold? Well, they had that
question for the team at Sega. So Sonic
continues to evolve. What does the
future hold? So Forgamer asks, "So
taking into account the history of the
series, could you tell us your outlook
for how Sonic might evolve in the
future?" So Iuka says, "I can't go into
specifics about the new game currently
under development. There is a new game,
but I'm confident that there's still
plenty of room for the series to evolve.
The introduction of color power in Sonic
Colors significantly changed the ways
the series is played, and I believe
there's still more to come in the
systemic evolution pioneered by Sonic
Frontier. We'll be creating
unprecedented gameplay through various
approaches from characters and story to
game systems. So, please look forward to
it. So very very vague answer and the
unprecedented gameplay like we've heard
the industry massively overused words
like unprecedented and all this stuff
and then you get the game and it's just
like something we've experienced maybe
not in that genre but in other genres
and it doesn't really feel that
unprecedented and then every now and
then we get a shocking surprise that
they do say it's unprecedented and it
turns out it is. So which direction this
goes we'll have to wait and see what the
future of the blue blur holds but I'm
just excited that there is a future.
since according to that interview at one
point there wasn't. So we avoided the
bad timeline when it came to the end of
Sonic. All right guys, we are on the bad
timeline though when it comes to Xbox
layoffs. Anyways, I obviously don't know
what the future of Xbox holds and I
rubbed some people the wrong way by
predicting that Microsoft may consider
selling off the brand and all the game
studios by 2030. I get it. It's a
controversial opinion. It's not cuz I'm
a Nintendo fan. It's just me looking at
the disconnect between Microsoft
corporate and Xbox as pointed out in
Gamer Nexus's recent video. That's the
one that really heavily influenced the
idea that you know what, if corporate
doesn't get it and they keep pushing for
things that aren't possible, like a 30%
profit margin, then maybe it's best for
them to part ways. That said, that's not
what's happening right now. In fact,
somehow, despite the fact that they were
under marching orders to lay off another
1,600 employees, Asha has apparently
reportedly found a way to not have to
lay off as many people as originally
planned. They're still going to have to
lay off people, but they have found a
way. She has found a way to convince
Microsoft that a restructuring is better
in many cases and they could shift some
of these employees around instead of
letting them go. Pretty interesting. But
that doesn't mean that we don't have job
loss announcements to announce today.
And the Halo Studios is what got hit.
But there's a reason Halo Studios got
hit that may excite you for the future
of Halo. So Xbox layoffs update. This
comes from Jez Cordon really in the no
guy at Windows Central. Ninja Theory
acquisitions fall through. Halo to be
given. Activision Obsidian joins
Bethesda and more. So they put a lot of
their studios under Activision. You're
going to find out probably because
Activision just manages game studios
better than Microsoft does. Even though
Activision's under Microsoft, Activision
acts independently of Microsoft.
Anyways, Microsoft just revealed another
round of restructures for Xbox and its
game studios with Ninja Theory,
Obsidian, Turn 10, Halo Studios, and
others impacted in various ways. Last
July, Microsoft announced it would be
looking to reduce its gaming workforce
by around 3,200 staffers. Sources
suggest that the total figure will fall
short of that previous estimate as
Microsoft opts for restructuring and
moving employees around to other
departments as much as possible. One way
Microsoft has sought to achieve some of
this is via divesters. So Double Fine
and Compulsion have both returned to
being independent game studios, for
example. So you don't have to lay anyone
off there. You just let them become
independent with the former starting
Kickstarter to fund its next title.
Undead Labs and State of Decay fame is
also moving to another publisher,
although it has not been revealed
exactly who this is just yet.
Discussions around the future of Arcane
are still ongoing, so that one will
probably be the next one to go
independent. Unfortunately, Microsoft
revealed today that two previous
attempts to divest Ninja theory of
Hellblade fame have fallen through.
Microsoft has entered into redundancy
consultation with the UK government as a
result, per local law. Sources say
Microsoft is trying to find a buyer for
Ninja Theory and the Hellblade
franchise, but it's still looking a bit
bleak. By the way, this is one of those
opportunities that the price is right. I
wouldn't mind Nintendo possibly getting
involved with that. Um, obviously, uh, I
don't know what the cost is, but they
were an independent developer that
proved they can make a AAA game on a
shoestring budget. You know what company
loves to do that? Nintendo. So, it is
also adding to Nintendo's portfolio an
M-rated property uh, that they currently
don't have, which would just boost the
variety of games Nintendo has. I'm not
saying that they're going to do it, but
I would love to see them throw their
head in the ring. I'm sure Sony, I'm
sure uh EA, I'm sure a lot of other
companies, 10-centent are probably
looking to maybe get in here, but they
haven't had any success yet. I'm just
saying Nintendo maybe pick up the phone.
The price might not be as bad as you
think it is. Again, they were an
independent studio not too long ago. All
right. Furthermore, though, this is like
the biggest change. Halo Studios is
looking at major layoffs in the hundreds
as Microsoft seeks a major restructure
in the way Halo is run. In its heyday,
Halo was a cultural phenomenon. It
turbocharged the Xbox platform, giving
Microsoft's incumbent console a strong
basis for growth in a market dominated
by Nintendo and PlayStation. Halo 2 and
3 sent the platform even higher, and
defined a new era of console oriented
first-person shooters. Those times are
well and truly behind it, though.
Through years of mismanagement, Halo is
now a shadow of its former self, a
disastrous TV show, and two previous
games that arguably missed the mark in
different ways. Halo Studios most recent
outing, yet another remaster of Halo
Combat Evolve. I think it's like the
third or fourth one, also received mixed
reviews from fans and critics for
various reasons. Microsoft announced
that it is effectively downsizing Halo
Studios into the franchise's production
and administration arm. So, kind of
getting rid of most of the developers
and will replace stewardship of the
franchise under Activision, confirming
some vague industry rumors I heard over
the summer. Microsoft says around 230
rolls will be lost in results. So
basically the entire Halo development
team. However, here's the quote. We're
thrilled to welcome Halo Rare and
World's Edge to Activision. It's an
honor and a responsibility that we do
not take lightly. These teams and their
games have inspired fans around the
world for decades. For Halo, our goal is
clear. Make the greatest Halo game ever.
Worthy of its universe and legacy while
staying true to what made players love
it in the first place. It is a bold
ambition, one that this franchise
deserves. We've already begun assembling
a purpose-built team, unique in
capability and talent, ready and excited
to deliver this next chapter with the
community. To the world's Edge and Rare
teams, we can't wait to work together.
Exactly which Activision studio will
handle Halo going forward remains to be
seen, but it's certainly true that
Activision's Call of Duty teams have had
far more success than Halo Studios has
at building broadly appealing live
service shooters. Microsoft is also
placing Rare and Sea of Thieves under
Activision 2 with Obsidian and Grounded
moving under Zenamax, the ones that run
Bethesda to work more closely with
Bethesda Softworks on Fallout. World's
Edge and Age of Empires franchise will
also move under Activision. Xbox game
studios will remain as uh playground
which is absorbing turn 10 the coalition
in exile and Xbox's publishing arm
handling games like hideiokjima's
vision. So basically Microsoft games
Xbox game studios is basically
eliminating almost all of their
development studios and putting them
under Zenamax and under Activision which
are two subdivisions that they own 100%
own fully that manage all these other
really successful things. So, other
words, Zenamax and Activision are better
at managing this stuff than we are, so
we're going to consolidate it to the
better management. I think that's
actually pretty smart move. I think Asha
made the right call there. Uh, anyways,
a new dawn uh for Halo. So, it says,
"The job losses at Xbox have been
regrettable over the summer, but it's
hard to overlook the fact that in order
to have a sustainable business, games
need to actually sell. Whether it's
small and quirky projects like Keeper or
mismanaged live service ops like Halo
Infinite, Microsoft hasn't handled its
portfolio hasn't handled its portfolio
effectively in recent years. There's
less free time and money for gaming
among consumers and more competition
than ever, making the stakes higher. So
guys, I am just really going to take a
pause and a wait and see on this. I like
the restructuring. I like how Asha is
trying to save some jobs by
restructuring and convincing that
Microsoft corporate, hey, instead of us
laying people off, what if we actually
move things around, we let some studios
go independent, and hey, some of the
things that we're struggling with that
we think should be bigger than they are,
we put it under better management.
Truly, I think uh this is a smart
decision by them. And we'll just have to
wait and see how this plays out long
haul. These are decisions made today
that we as gamers won't see the impact
for like 5 years. So, we'll have to wait
and see what happens. Uh, next up is our
Ocarina of Time section of the video. A
lot of stories all piled in. Let's first
start with something new. You guys love
when new things are happening with the
series. New things are happening with
the game. I want to show you something
new. This is posted by Genki_JPN. He
lives in Japan. Says, "The Legend of
Zelda Ocarine Time remake. New key art."
Uh, so you're seeing obviously what
looks like the real life ocarina with
some real life uh gems from the game
sitting on top of what looks like a real
life tapestry.
Oh, Nintendo, do you have this tapestry
for real somewhere? Because I want to
see this in person pretty bad. Fact, I
want one for myself. Please sell it
somewhere. Anyways, uh you see the back
of it as Well, it's obviously just a
little marketing slip showing obviously
the 40th anniversary console, the
controller, uh the case, and obviously
showing off the game and the amiibo. So,
look, I think that's just a cool little
piece of marketing. Um, and that's
really interesting because marketing for
Ocarina of Time is really becoming
something here. Uh, as it looks like
physical copies of Ocarina of Time have
shown as it looks like physical copies
of Ocarina of Time have sold out in a
fairly large country. So, this is
actually from IGM Brazil. So, this has
been translated through Google Translate
and it says, "It exceeded our most
optimistic expectations. Gamer Hut, one
of the leading physical game stores in
Brazil, was surprised by the pre-sale of
Zelda Ocarina of Time and promises
greater vigilance regarding orders
suspected of being resold. So, trying to
stop scalping, right? So, the year 2026
is drawing to a close, but it still
holds great surprises in the world of
gaming. This year in particular had two
major events that weren't even game
releases. The opening pre-orders for GTA
6 and the remake of Ocarine of Time.
Both situations broke the internet.
Zelda especially due to the rarity of a
special foil cover for some people who
pre-ordered the collector's item. Such
high demand has generated some cases of
outrage because some people were left
without the game due to cases of
purchases for resale at exorbitant
prices, a known practice similar to a
ticket scalping at concerts. IGM Brazil
was able to speak with Ricardo Vieiraa,
commercial director of Gamer Hut, one of
the main physical stores in Brazil, who
declared himself surprised by the high
demand for physical editions of Acarina
Time remake and pledge to increase
vigilance in cases of resale. So, what
results did you gather from your first
batch of pre-orders of Ocarina of Time?
Did the results meet your expectations,
Ricardo? The result exceeded even our
most optimistic expectations. Gamer Hut
had been preparing for almost four
months, ever since we learned about the
game and had already placed a large
order. Ocarina Time was our big bet.
Internally, we joked that if we had to
choose between GTA and Ocarina, we would
choose Ocarina. We have a very strong
affinity with the Nintendo audience, and
the team is also made up of fans. The
vast majority of people were buying a
single copy. We already had confidence
in the game, but no one on the team,
even with experience in major releases,
imagined that the batch would sell out
so quickly. For us, this result deserves
the attention of the entire market. It
shows that we still need to better
understand the size and demand for
physical media. My perception is that
the events of this year also have made
people look at their collections and the
possibility of not having certain
physical games in the future. They want
to ensure that major releases are part
of their collection and Ocarine of Time
is proof of that. So then they go on to
say, well, hey, is the sellout just
because there was low availability? So,
or is it just because there's really
high demand? What's going on? Uh, when
we made our purchase forecast months in
advance, we didn't yet know about the
foil cover for a pre-order under the
conditions we knew at that time. We felt
we were well prepared. As soon as the
Nintendo Direct presented this special
packaging in limited quantities, I
contacted them and asked to double our
order, which was already large, but
production could no longer accommodate
an additional order, so they didn't get
the order in in time. There is a broader
issue of supply. In our experience, part
of the Brazilian market operates in what
we call zero inventory, which is
concentrating purchases on launch
without necessarily maintaining a
catalog of stock or continuous
replenishment. This causes some games to
arrive, sell out, then just remain
available for a long time or unavailable
for a long time. Gamer Hut strives to
work in the opposite direction,
maintaining options for the player and
seeking import alternatives when
necessary. However, we are not always
able to repurchase products in the
quantity or within the time frame we
need. When a product is scarce, it
becomes more difficult to measure real
demand. If someone wants to buy
something and can't find it, that
intention doesn't show up in the sales
figures. Therefore, I believe that
occupant time highlights an opportunity
to bring industry, distribution, retail,
and the community even closer together
to better understand the audience and
plan supply. So, it said the pre-sale
sold in minutes, and many users bought
more than one copy, resulting in resale,
similar to what you see happening at
large audience concerts in a future
pre-sale batch. Do you have plans to
prevent this? And basically, this all
breaks down to yes. Uh they paid
attention, they have plans to uh prevent
it. You guys can go look at the ref if
you want. It's actually really
interesting looking at the retail side
for a time. We have not seen it sell
out, you know, here in the US or Japan
or Europe, but we, you know, there's a
lot of fear out there that even
pre-orders today, like if I pre-order
one today, I won't get the foil cover.
Like, that's an assumption I have
because I waited so long to pre-order.
I'm not pre-ordering right now, but I'm
just saying if I did. So, yeah, I do
think that that foil cover definitely
created a demand. You have that special
slip cover in some countries like Canada
as well that's also creating some demand
for physical collections. Nintendo is
really great at driving physical demand.
And what we're finding out with Ocarine
of Time, at least in Brazil, is it is
proving there is high demand in the
physical market. And as I said, it might
not just all be due to Nintendo.
Industry news like PlayStation getting
rid of physical games has maybe made
some gamers who've been leaning all
digital for so long start to rethink
something they took for granted. And
that was that physical games will just
always be around. it'll always be an
option and I can pick that up anytime I
feel like it, but it's just more
convenient to do it this other way. And
what they're finding out is actually no,
that's not the future of this industry
except with Nintendo. So maybe with
Nintendo's biggest games, with the
biggest games at launch, we should show
high physical demand. That way these
physical games continue to exist. All of
this is just good news for physical
demand. Bad news for people in Brazil
trying to obviously get it firsthand uh
and hoping to not have to wait till well
after launch to get a physical copy.
All right, guys. We get to get into this
weird one. I don't like the headline
they're using on socials to promote
this. It comes from Game Rant, and I
haven't even read the article yet. We're
going to read it together because I'm
really confused. Um, this is a headline
making rounds and this would be such big
news. It would be the headline of my
video if it were true. Nintendo confirms
the upcoming release of Zelda Ocarina of
Time on Switch 2 will have DLC. Okay,
that is really huge news because that
would mean there's additional content
coming to the game, some sort of big
content. They're planning to support
this, you know, for an additional 6
months to a year. Uh we see DLC with
like Breath of the Wild. So, hey, this
is actually really exciting news.
Nintendo announced new DLC. Now, you see
there's a community note there. Uh,
we'll get into why that exists in a
moment because, well, let's click on the
article. Let's actually read the article
at Game Rant. Uh, and it has a different
title.
Um, okay. The title is The Legend of
Zelda: Ocarine Time Remake officially
confirms Haywalled content. Well, that's
a lot different than DLC, but okay,
let's continue. So, Ocarine Time remains
one of the most recognizable games in
Nintendo's history with its version of
Hyrule and its take on Link helping
define the series for an entire
generation. The upcoming remake gives
Nintendo a chance to revisit a classic.
All right, that's cool. Um, let's go
ahead and get into the actual news here.
So, it says, in fact, perhaps the
biggest most visceral reaction to the
original trailer for the remake was how
different those two characters looked.
The good news is that Nintendo hasn't
forgotten about their original
appearances. This sounds like they're
talking about the amiibo with the masks,
which is old news from the direct. I
It's not DLC,
but okay. Um, let's just go here.
Nintendo Octo features payw wall
content. Nintendo has revealed that
Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo for
Ocarina Time will both feature scheduled
to launch sometime in 2027. Pre-orders
are going fast and an exact release
window has not been specified, but is
believed to be at least a few months
after the remake itself launches on
November 5th, 2026. Given its 2027
window, as is often the case with amibo,
they will unlock unique content in the
game. Each figure will unlock a special
in-game mask that feels very similar to
the mask's mask, except it's the
original face from N64 for Link and
Zelda. Um, we already knew this. The the
images are right here. This isn't new
news. I guess you can argue it's DLC,
but it's it's not. It's already been
pre-announced. It's not like um it's
just like a little bonus for amiibo
stuff they do in every game. Uh you do
what you were doing, gamer rant, you
wanted to excite people uh and get a lot
of clicks on socials for something that
we already have known about for like a
month at this point or almost a month.
At least it feels like it. I know it
hasn't literally been a month, but
damn, man. I just look I know that I do
some clickbait stuff at times like
that's just the name of the industry but
this is like a level that I wouldn't
even go even like my Switch 2 Pro you
know maybe may have leaked thing wasn't
on this level because the whole video
was about me speculating on that.
They're not even speculating on Nintendo
offering DLC. They're just repurposing
old news uh to make you click again. I I
don't like that practice. Let's move on
uh to something more happy. Uh Andress
Rest put out a video saying interesting
new items and quests in Ocarine Time
remake. I just wanted to point out a few
things in his video that point to the
fact there's new content. Um and look,
you should watch his whole video to get
all the context. Um but one of the
things he points out is obviously he
goes through the the the menu item uh
the menu here. And he just goes through
noting that there are some unexplained
spots in it. Um he goes on to fill up
with what he thinks is in each spot. Um
obviously it's a new lens of truth. Then
he says, you know, this probably be a
section for like the different masks
because you usually only have one at
once. Although I will note we do have
those masks from the the amiibo,
although that might not be part of the
UI yet since that's not till 2027. Um,
so he points this all out um as he goes
on. We'll pause this here. He gets into
the second menu screen we see and he
notes that this seems to be like uh
separated by like this is stuff you can
only use as a child. This is stuff you
can only use as adult and this is stuff
you can use altogether. there. And one
thing he does note is that the bottom
spot appears to be for bottles, but
there's only uh four bottles in the
game. So, the fact that a fifth bottle
slot is there seems to indicate there's
a new side quest to do something you do
to obtain a fifth bottle. That would be
new content. He then goes on to try to
figure out what these other spots are
that don't really make sense uh with how
things are laid out. And he doesn't
really know what they're for. like he
thinks that this could be for like
singleuse item uh quests uh like you
know the chicken stuff and and all that.
That is I guess possible. Um but he
doesn't know what the rest are used for.
Um he really has no clue what this spot
and this spot are for. One of them could
be for the seeds for the uh slingshot,
but then you can't use those as both
forms. So that wouldn't fit his theory
that this is for both child and adult to
use. That would just be up here as like
a seed counter like you see with the
stick counter at four. So, I don't know.
Just like I think you have multiple
seeds, it would be a seed counter. So,
I'm not sure that that's the case. I
also think he messed up. I think the bow
and arrow probably belongs here. This
belongs here. You can look at the shape.
This hook shot feels like it belongs
here. This feels like it would be faced
sideways and go here. But that's neither
here nor there. Obviously, the exact
order of the items doesn't have to be
correct, but he's probably right on the
speculation here. But, this does seem to
indicate there could be a new item, new
something going on that could be from a
new dungeon. He goes on to talk about
the light temple possibilities and all
that, but that's not the only thing.
That's always speculative. There's
things in the game that guarantee
there's new content. Um, first off, he
points out when you run into Castle Town
here that there's an NPC right here that
is not in the original game and then
says something about what a cute horse.
This could be leading to a possible side
quest. It could be nothing. It could
just be filler. But there's another one
later that definitely appears to be a
side quest related thing. And that is
this new blonde lady that's near the
fountain. So is going to play slow here
and zoomed in and it's this lady right
here and it says it's not an easy
choice. She seems to be looking down.
She seems to be struggling with
something. This MPC does not exist in
the original Acarine of Time. And by
saying it's not an easy choice suggest
she's struggling with something,
something you might be helping her out
with with a new side quest. So this is a
heavy indication of new content in
Ocarina of Time. Like a very maybe the
heaviest uh suggestion I've seen to
date. He goes on to talk about obviously
other new NPCs and other new stuff going
on um and things are talking about. Then
he then he dives into the tapestry and
he goes over how you can kind of figure
out what most of these slots are until
you get to the bottom here where we
don't know what this one is. We don't
know what this one is. Probably just
some text, but we don't know. We don't
know what this one is, this one, this
one, or these little four little ones
either. We don't know. This one here is
probably like the final fight. This
could be like the castle before it. Uh
but I don't really know what any of the
rest are. So, um, your guess is as good
as mine. We've, uh, had debates on this
tapestry before. Some people think they
figured it out, some people don't know.
Uh, there just seems to be suggestions
for new content, possibly new dungeons,
side dungeons, optional dungeons
perhaps, but we don't know. We'll have
to wait and see, guys. Uh, I just wanted
to end with a happy note and give you
guys something to chew on that looks
legit. That one NPC by the fountain,
that one to me really got me today when
I saw his video cuz I hadn't noticed her
before and paid close enough attention
till he zoomed in and I'm like, "Oh,
wait a second. She's asking a question.
She's struggling with something." That
usually means Link can interact with
her. Not just have a brief conversation,
but actually help her out with whatever
her problem is. Yes. And that's just in
Castle Town. What if there's new NPCs
with new quests in Kakaro Village or the
Goran City or Zora? Or heck, maybe
there's some new stuff out in the Gerudo
area. Just saying. This is just one part
of the game. We could have new side
quests all over the game. So, let me
know what you guys think about this down
in the comments below. I am Nathaniel
Ruffle Jance from Nintendo Prime and
I'll catch you guys in the next video.
