Video summary
Yoshida from Norris Cove enthusiastically introduces a new undated weekly insert from Cloth and Paper that arrived in their September box, expressing immediate excitement over its design and functionality. While she notes a minor drawback regarding the stacked Saturday and Sunday pages—which conflicts with her need for separate days due to working on Saturdays—she overwhelmingly praises the insert's layout as exactly what she has been searching for. The product is undated, allowing users to start using it at any time, and Yoshida highlights how its clean aesthetic perfectly suits her minimal yet functional planning style without feeling cluttered or overwhelming.
The host details how she is currently utilizing the insert to track a comprehensive health and fitness plan generated by an AI chatbot, which includes running schedules, nutrition menus, and grocery lists. She has filled out sections for her specific weekly routine, such as three-mile runs on Mondays and strength training days, while also using the dedicated task column to log bills, doctor's appointments, and social media filming goals. Additionally, she uses the habit tracker to monitor her progress on a "30-day lock-in" program, ensuring she meets daily step counts and closes her accountability rings, effectively turning the planner into a central hub for her physical and digital life management.
Beyond tracking tasks and habits, Yoshida appreciates specific features like the "next week" preview section, which helps her prepare for upcoming events such as birthdays in advance, and the ample space provided for daily notes and affirmations. She explains that while the insert includes time-blocking lines, she finds them unnecessary since she already knows her work schedule, preferring instead to write down tasks as they arise throughout the week rather than piling everything at the start. The "week highlights" section serves as a memory-keeping tool where she can summarize successful runs or other achievements, and she plans to use stickers sparingly for functional purposes like marking chore days without cluttering the page.
Ultimately, Yoshida concludes that this insert has reignited her passion for planning by removing the guesswork involved in creating custom layouts from scratch. She is so satisfied with the design that she considers it a guaranteed repurchase and hopes that Cloth and Paper will eventually release this layout in smaller planner sizes or fix the stacked weekend issue. Despite her minor gripes, she feels that the insert strikes the perfect balance between simplicity and utility, allowing her to stay organized for work, health goals, and personal life without needing to add excessive decorations or modifications.

Hey friends, welcome to or welcome back
to Norris Cove. If you're new here, I am
Yoshida and here at the Cove, we like to
budget and plan in confidence using a
planner. But today you guys, I just
wanted to stop back through because the
last video I showed you guys the flip of
me back in personal and I got to tell
you I am kind of in love. She's even
making a trip to work. But what I really
came to show you guys today, I wanted to
talk about this new insert from Cloth
and Paper. And it is what I'm loving
right now. Let me take this out. So,
I've already set up like next week. And
this is the 14th through the 19th. And
this is the insert. Let me kind of take
it out so you guys can see. And then I'm
going to show you like a blank copy of
it. So, it came in our September box.
It's undated, but this is what it looks
like undated. And when I saw it, I was
like, "Wait a minute. This is kind of
what I've been needing." Now, my only
down part about this insert, I do not
like the Saturday and Sunday. That is my
only down part of this insert is that it
has the Saturday and Sunday stacked. And
I feel as though
I don't like my Saturday and Sunday
stack because I work on Saturday. So, I
would need a Saturday to itself. I do
errands sometimes after I get off from
work. But nonetheless, besides that,
that's my like only slightly gripe about
it. But to my understanding in the
bigger sizes that they're not stacked.
I'm not going to jump into a bigger size
because I love this insert. But I just
wanted to kind of rave about it a little
bit. So I'm going to tell you how I'm
using it or plan to use it. So I've
recently well y'all know I'm always kind
of trying to work on my health whatnot,
but I've recently in the past month it's
been about five weeks. This is like my
fifth week back running. So, I've fallen
back in love with running. And the only
thing with that was
the weight I had lost. I wasn't putting
weight back on, but I was no longer
losing weight. Long story short, I just
went to chat, had them to kind of help
me with a running plan, a nutrition
plan, and a grocery list, and gave them
all of my health issues or what have
you, and my age, weight, all that great
stuff. So, chat is very good for that.
and it gave me a plan which um I have
here. I printed out. So, this is my
running and workout plan. So, I'm going
to like break it down. I'll be using
like my menu,
my grocery menu and my regular meal,
excuse me, my meal plan and my planner
and putting everything down. And I'm
just kind of I'm only on day two of it,
but I'm just trying to get used to some
of the meals, the timing, and all of
that, and follow uh the running plan.
And it's about 24 pages. So, it's
basically front and back twill. So, what
I've done with this insert for now,
because I'll tell y'all about how I plan
to do all of that in another planner
when it gets here, but for now, I am
putting it here on these days. So, let's
say Monday, um, I'm supposed to run
three miles. And this is like it has me
on a schedule. So, let's see. Let me
go to it. Okay. Monday, I am supposed to
do a 3 and 1/2 mile easy run. Uh,
Tuesday, this is my schedule right now.
Uh, Wednesday, 35 45 minute walk.
Thursday, 3.5 miles. And then that's I
think it's week two, but week three
things will switch up. I am actually on
week one. So, let me
go back. Unless it's front and back.
Yeah, here it is. So,
week one, I'm sticking to week one right
now. Uh, Mondays are three miles.
Tuesday, strength a Wednesday recovery,
Thursday, but I still do like a walk.
And also, let me mention, but this
basically is how it's supposed to be
done. Okay. So, I'm I'm logging all of
that with this insert. And I made myself
a 30-day lock in, which I'm supposed to
close all my rings each day for the next
for the 30 days of September. So, I have
it here that I'll do my run, my three
mile run on Monday.
I have my bills. I can list my bills.
And then
I love, you guys know, I love my
schedule. I love schedule block, you
know, schedule blocking and what have
you, but I don't really necessarily need
it. That's why I like this insert
because I just need to say, "Hey, you
have to work today. I keep my schedule
on my phone." So, as much as this is a
tried andrue insert for me, I created it
especially for myself. This is what kind
of I was looking for. And I actually was
going to kind of change this where I
would have left grid, but it was going
to be basically similar to this, but
maybe without affirmations. Definitely a
habit tracker. I just didn't know how I
wanted it all to fit. I knew I needed a
place for task, which this section is
here. Um, of course, place for my
totals, all that great stuff. My habits
important next week. So, I just needed
to extend these things, I guess you can
say. But this insert does all of that
for me. Like I said, I can put in my
running schedule. Now, I'm not putting
in my nutrition part of my new plan that
chat gave me, but that's where my
menu comes in. So, I've already kind of
filled that out. It's very chicken
scratchish because I just wanted to get
things in here. So, as you can see, I
have the 14th through the 20th on here,
and it gives me like options of things
that I can eat or what I'm supposed to
eat on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
whatever. But I wanted to just write
down like the breakfast part, the the
main meals, and that way I can see what
it'll be like in rotation, if that makes
sense, and then make a grocery list.
Now, I didn't make the grocery list cuz
I kind of went in the grocery store
today, and I've been using my phone, and
that's another video for another day.
And so my grocery list is kind of like
on my phone. So I got the things that I
need for this upcoming week. Now back to
this insert.
So yeah, I am able even here like if it
was payday, I would put payday here at
the top. If it was maybe a birthday, I
would probably put the birthday at the
top because there's that little bit of
room. But right now, I'm kind of loving
the clean aesthetic of it. Again, like I
said over here, Saturday and Sunday, so
I just did a double date. Um, and then
Saturday I posted that's my long run
which is tomorrow. Tomorrow is Saturday.
Um, I have a long run. Now, here's going
to be the problem with that is because I
have to be to work so early. So, that
means I'm going have to get up early.
So, but it's here. It's written down.
Um, I have that I work I need to film
again on Saturday. Um, and then like on
Friday is a weights day. Thursday is a
run 3 to four miles day. [snorts]
And then, um, t Wednesday is a walk and
weights day. And then
Tuesday, walk and wait. And then again,
back to Monday, it's my three miles. And
then here, look at this y'all. Like this
section here is for task. I think that's
a good enough
column for task. At least for me, and
especially kind of how I'm using this
now. Yes, I'm incorporating doctor's
appointments, bill build bills, things
like that in my habits. But for what I'm
kind of using it for, my habits is
pretty much my plan from chat. So, and
then I included social media because I
am trying to get back to filming more
and so I want to see how many days I do
that. Y'all know I love a good habit
tracker. And then it has affirations.
If you know, you know. I love
affirmations.
Um I do money affirmations mainly and
then for the notes part I put in here
just like you know just [clears throat]
a little reminder follow running plan
and food menu. Um now the week highlight
part let's talk about that. the week
highlights part. I plan to kind of
summarize my week. Um, things that were
good kind of as a memory keeping kind of
thing, but just writing in the things
that happened that week or as they
happen, I can come in like if it was a
highlight of the week. Uh, let's say my
long run, let's say, okay, let's see,
four miles. I'm supposed to do three to
four miles on Thursday. Let's say I do
four and a half. I'll come in here and
say I did three uh three to four miles
and I didn't have any walking breaks
because I do alternate some some of my
runs. And the way chat has me going, it
has me doing a lot of alternating so I
can kind of build up stamina. So I'll
put that in here. But again, I can just
I'm using it technically for my new
30-day lock in program, but also I can
put in the important stuff. And I didn't
want to put too I wanted to jazz it up a
little bit, use stickers, and but I at
the same time I don't want to do too
much because I want to be able to see
the things that I'm supposed to get
done. And then one of my favorite parts
of this insert and that I have pretty
much in all my weekly inserts is the
next week. When I saw the next week, I'm
like, "Oh yeah, I'm sold." So, let me
show you. So, as you can see on mine,
there's a next week. There's always
going to be a next week because I like
to kind of see what's coming up if it's
something I need to be prepared for that
I have to prepare almost a week in
advance. Like my son's birthday is the
following week. Um, one of my childhood
friends or bestie, her birthday is the
same day as my son. So, I didn't need to
put the date on there because their
birthdays are the same day. And so,
that's what's coming up. So, that'll
kind of bring a bell for me to say,
"Hey, I maybe need to get my son
something or save a little money to send
to him um for my friend. and make sure I
call whatever, you know. And yeah, this
insert I think is I I can't wait to see
it dated, but then again, I'm afraid to
get it dated cuz I know me, I'll fall
out of love with it. But right now, it
is I couldn't wait to put it in here. I
actually forgot it first because just
forgetting I had the box and then I was
like, that insert was just what I'm
looking for. And to be honest, I really
think like this insert is gonna kind of
bring me back to my planner and doing
more of planning because it's I mean
it's so sleek. I mean it just this
insert just speaks to me and I'm not
raving. I understand like some people
say you know you need to use your stuff
but I get all that but this insert it
just it took all of the guess work out
for me. I don't have to create it. It's
perfect. Okay. So none of that. I'm just
happy that somebody [clears throat] else
created what I was thinking and that now
I can just use it. And I have no problem
purchasing, baby. I have no problem
purchasing and I think I this will be a
repurchase for me. Like I said, I'm
going to use it right now for my
everything, you know, work bills, my new
program, my 30-day lock in program. And
this where that like again those habits.
This is going to let me see if I'm
really locked in. Okay. Oh, I need to
put this on here too. Close rings.
Close all rings, which I'm pretty sure
I'm going to do. I've been doing pretty
good. We're on day 11 and I've been
closing my rings. Minimum 8,000 steps,
max 10,000. Doing that. So, oh, steps.
Put that on there. See, I thought it was
going to be a little bleak, but yeah.
So, I just wanted to come on talk to you
guys about this insert and just a few
little updates that I've kind of done to
this planner. I took out a lot of the
old stuff um that you saw in the flip
and just kind of brought it like up to
date so that I would use it and then it
gave it some room so that I wouldn't
have to um have a tutu stuff. Oh, and
then this uh weekly check-in last thing.
So, I didn't want to throw this paper
away just to start over from January.
So, also I have my September 14th
through the 20th my bills, my weekly
check-in. And again, this is my insert,
but I have went ahead and filled it out
for my upcoming bills. I'm trying to get
back into keeping track of my money.
I've just been spending, spend that,
spend that, spend that. I've just been
spending. And so, it's time to really
end because I know the holidays are
coming and December is like the most
money I spend. not just on gifts, but
it's the end of the year for me. So,
it's so many things that need to be uh
taken care of, like my car, um
registration, things like that. And it
just seemed like everything falls in
December. But yeah, so I did go ahead
and fill that out. But this insert I am
absolutely obsessed with. And like I
keep looking at it like, do I want to
add stickers? Do I want to add more to
Arasmat to it? No. If anything, it's
going to be functional stickers. And
this is the last good part about this
insert is that when I went and looked at
the cover that comes with it to show you
how to use it, I had already knew how I
was going to use it, but I was looking
at it and it was like daily planning.
So, I was like, hold on. So, you mean to
tell me I can come in here every day and
write something? So y'all see that it's
kind of naked now, but as things come
up, I can come in and I still have
enough room instead of just like piling
it up at the beginning of the week just
thinking of stuff I need to do. I can
even put in my chores like I can put
them in here at the bottom. And I
thought about I have a I think a chores
or um
I can't think of it. It's like a
housework um sticker set. So, I can come
in here and just put those things that
need to be done. So, if it's a vacuum
day or a mop day, I could just use, you
know, the icon. It's still It's Oh my
god, this insert. I'm just Whoever over
at Cloth and Paper created this insert,
they deserve a raise. Now, if they could
just get in the smaller planners, get
this, you know, together here, the
Saturday and Sunday not to be stacked. I
could tell them a little secret how I do
mine, but they need to call me and text
me or email me and I can get this right
for them. I could I could really get
this right for them. But, nonetheless, I
am in love with this insert. It's been a
long time since I've been in love with
someone else's insert because like I
said, I just customized mine to fit my
needs. But this is kind of what I was
trying to imagine
changing this one into. Like I still
wanted the time, but I wanted a task and
keep everything else. And I just didn't.
But I envisioned everything up here, but
I just couldn't figure all the other
stuff out. They did it. I don't even
need the times. I don't need the times.
I know what time I got to be to work. I
just got to put work. I don't need the
list everybody. And I realized as much
as I thought I love time blocking, I do.
But things just don't always go to plan
with the time blocking. Um, somebody may
be late. It is. No, I don't need all
that. But I will use this. I'm not going
to hold you. I would probably refer back
to this especially when it's busy or
something like that. I'll definitely
come back cuz this is one of my favorite
inserts that I ever created for myself.
is perfect. But this right here is just
what I need. Like I can't I would love
to see this dated.
I would love to see it in CP petite, but
they're going to stack it. Uh but I'm
going to work with this stack. I'm going
to work with this stack. I think I would
do Saturday stuff here or just a running
list of things that I need to do for
both days and I can just check them out.
But I need this I need this to be they
can make these lines small. I mean, I
know however,
but other than that, that's my only
gripe is [clears throat]
that Saturday and Sunday stack. I just
do not like a Saturday and Sunday stack.
I've done inserts like that and I didn't
even like them when I did them. That's
why I didn't use them. But it's not
necessary. Trust me, it's not necessary.
But anyway, I'm off my soap box. But I
just wanted to rave about this insert.
Like just as simple as it is right now,
I'm absolutely in love. I don't want to
add nothing else. Now, next week when I
come back to review it, y some stuff on
here, but right now this needs
absolutely nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
Okay, let me end this video because I
will go on and on about this insert. I
have not, like I said, I have not been
happy with someone else's insert in a
very long time. I'm very particular
because of the type of planner that I
am. I'm minimal mostly, but I'm
functional. But every now and then I
like a little, you know what I mean?
Birthday stuff like that. I will switch
an insert just for my birthday week or
something like that. But other than
that,
and then affirmations. So, okay, I know.
And this is the last thing, y'all. I
promise. So, I have room for more than
one affirmation. So, let's say this is
my affirmation for the week. But day by
day, I can write an affirmation. Okay?
You [clears throat] see what I'm saying?
You're picking up what I'm putting down.
And then over here on the task, when I
start my week, I very seldom know all my
tasks, but I'll just think of things
that are just,
you know, the most important. But as the
week goes on, I might need to buy Oh, I
just realized I wrote all over on the
checklist part, but I might need to buy
sticker paper, ink, uh, hair products,
nail products, whatever. I can put that
as the date.
Okay, I'm getting off the soap box. But
yeah, that's all I came to do is rave
about this insert. Um, if you've if you
got the September box and you got this
insert, of course, let me know how
you're feeling about it and what size
did you get. But now I think I want it
in another size. I don't [laughter]
know. Maybe ah, no, I ain't going to do
that. I'm doing too much. But yeah, I'm
I'm loving it. [clears throat] I'm
really really loving it. So, let me know
your thoughts on this insert in the
comment section and I will talk to you
guys later. Bye.
