Video summary

The video highlights the inspiring journeys of several educators who have been recognized as NPTEL Stars for their dedication to continuous learning and professional development in India. Speakers from various institutions, including Dr. K.C.R. College of Technology, Swami Dayananda College, Alliance University, and Sri Kaliswari College, share how they utilize the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning platform to upskill themselves beyond their core disciplines. These individuals emphasize that NPTEL courses are not merely a means to obtain certification but serve as vital tools for acquiring new technologies, soft skills, and domain-specific knowledge that directly benefit both faculty members and students in an evolving technological landscape. A central theme across the testimonials is the transformative impact of these online courses on student outcomes through practical initiatives like internships, sponsorship opportunities, and support for master's programs abroad. The speakers urge fellow educators to treat NPTEL as a serious academic endeavor rather than a light subject or just another certification requirement, advocating instead that it be used strictly for self-improvement and skill enhancement. By completing courses in diverse fields ranging from artificial intelligence and data science to commerce and physics, these faculty members demonstrate how interdisciplinary learning can prepare students for job-oriented careers while fostering a culture of innovation within their respective colleges. The personal stories reveal the power of leading by example, with professors like Dr. S. Oswald Manoj sharing how earning domain certifications inspired them to become role models who motivate others without compulsion or rigid schedules. They stress that learning has no age limit and can be pursued even during busy nights or short breaks, encouraging everyone to seize every opportunity to learn new technologies regardless of difficulty levels. Through workshops, motivational programs, and active encouragement from local chapter SPOCs (Subject Point of Contact), these educators have successfully enrolled hundreds of students in relevant courses, creating a ripple effect that expands access to high-quality education across rural and urban areas alike. Ultimately, the video concludes with a strong message about the limitless potential for growth when individuals commit to lifelong learning through platforms like NPTEL. The speakers express deep gratitude toward the NPTEL team for their meticulous work in providing credible validation and resources that empower educators to stay current in fast-changing fields. As they look forward to receiving future certificates and continuing their educational journeys, these stars of education reaffirm their commitment to sharing knowledge, benefiting society, and ensuring that every student has access to opportunities that can shape a brighter future through technology-driven skills and global connectivity.

So, hello everyone. Myself Yesh Vignesh. I'm working as assistant professor from the department of artificial intelligence and data science. And I'm from Dr. K. C. R. College of Technology. And I am here for the NPTEL stars and I am awarded as NPTEL discipline star. So, it is a great honor for me to be here and meet my fellow fellas from around India. And we have had a great workshop here and the Nala Keti session they have mentioned so many things and how the credits can be converted and what are the benefits for the students for clearing the NPTEL course. And I hope it's helpful for everyone. Thank you. My only request is most of the students nowadays taking it as just for the certification purpose they are attending the course. But a few of them are really interested in learning the skills and most of them are coming here for the post schedule setting and they are giving more options for the student like internship and also they are giving sponsorship for fellowship program and doing MS with the support of sponsors. So, I'm only my concern for the student is don't take it as a light like subject like like regular subject. Please use this NPTEL for your the betterment and for upskilling purpose only. Thank you. I would like to say and I really do appreciate the NPTEL AT team because they are doing a wonderful job and they are doing a meticulous work and it is a not an easy way. So, my wishes to see more NPTEL stars in the upcoming years. That's it. Thank you. >> So, I am Dr. Kumar from Swami Dayananda College of Arts and Science. It's located at Tiruvarur. From rural area. I have completed more than 40 SWAYAM courses, more than 25 NPTEL courses. Now I am the SPOC of local chapter of my college and nearly more than 800 student enrolled and we are motivating and giving more awareness about the NPTEL courses which are useful for them based on the internship what they they have to do. And the motivational programs, courses which will be very useful to their future and internship as well, job oriented, technology oriented, new courses. We gave so many workshops in our institute for the welfare and more students enrolled in our institute. We are expecting 500 this time. So, these NPTEL courses are very much useful for faculty as well students for us. Thank you. See, it it actually I have real interest in each and every. I will just select in my core subject as well interdisciplinary as well other than my physics. I belongs to physics. Other than physics also I'm selecting like soft skill because I have to train up students now. So, more courses are available. We are training students. Through NPTEL I got so many informations and gathered so many informations and delivering all the useful informations towards the students best to create their interest. No, every student has to move towards the positive way to do all courses and domains, certificates and disciplines certificates in their core subjects to develop that in their area. That's the main thing including faculty. Thank you. >> Good evening. This is Dr. S. Oswald Manoj and I'm working as professor and head in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from Alliance University, Bangalore. So, today I have been here for the domain certification. I have got a domain certification and advanced faculty domain. So I came to came for that. And as of now I have completed more than 15 NPTEL courses as of now. And I took this domain certification to be a inspiration for my students and my fellow faculty members so that I can tell them the importance of the domain. So first I will complete it and then I was able to do that. So that is the reason I'm Yeah, learning doesn't require a specific time. Even it is night or overnight or maybe if you get even a one hour, the learning should be there. So there is no compulsion. There was no compulsion for me. So without the compulsion when we are doing such a work, the learning that that inspiration we should have. So when we act as a model for everyone, automatically everyone will do. And whenever we wanted to incorporate certain changes, first we should do that. Then we can tell others thereby they can inculcate that. Yeah, sure. It was like a dream. In 2024 I started these courses. I didn't think that whether [snorts] I will be completing or like that. So every semester I took one one courses. And this current semester I took two two courses in the semester. So I was able to complete it. So in 2024 I started just like a plan. Okay, let us take the course and we'll go as a flow. Now it's like a dream has come as a true. Now I am having an inspiration like we need to take more number of domains. Sure. Learning has no limits and no age limit is also there. We cannot claim that there is no time to learn. Whenever we gets a small time, learn. Even if it's a tough course or an easy course, whatever the technology is new, please learn. And NPTEL is such a platform where it gives a validation and you can learn and you can that credibility you will be having at the end. I'm really happy to be and I was a previously I was a spark for NPTEL and tomorrow also I'll be there to receive the certificate. So, I feel very happy and privileged. >> Hi. Good evening. Myself Kirthiga. I'm working as a assistant professor of commerce in Sri Kaliswari College, Sivakasi. I completed eight NPTEL courses past years. And now I achieve discipline star award.
