So, one thing about me is that I'm always I would just say I'm constantly like stressed about something. Like I don't have a ton of friends that are married either. Like we will have like around a year and a half and people were acting like ours was so long. >> The fact that we both would be showing up to an event in the same outfit like I to me I'd be like this feels weird. Dude, Brooke would like freak out. The best thing in a wedding is like when the couple's present in my opinion. Like that's the best experiences that I've had as a guest. I feel like we haven't been here in so long. I've just been traveling non-stop. But oh, guys, before I forget, we do have a special guest. if you guys could could pan over to Birthday Dolly. This is the very first of my sewing projects. Now, did I touch that when it was getting done? No. But I have decided that I'm going to add a new hobby to my list and I am going to learn how to finish needle point pillows. Ma is teaching me and I think she's looking perfect and stunning. Now, this was a technically I didn't do this myself. Technically, it was in a class, but I do think she's looking fabulous. I need so desperately if anyone knows where the fabric is that these chairs if you guys are watching right now that these chairs like where the fabric is from or if I could buy it from Anthropology somehow if anyone has a hookup please let me know because there's nothing I want to do more than make house guest needle point pillows and put them on these chairs with matching fabric like I would absolutely die to be able to do that. So if you guys could just um you know send a little give me a little ring you know let me know. But um speaking of Ma. Oh my god, guys. Ma's viral. Ma, let's see what's happening right now. I spent the weekend at the lake house with my family. And if you guys don't know Ma, my grandma, she's an icon. She's been on the podcast a billion times. She is 79 years old and she met this man named Ken who is 89 years old. They fell in love. They had their first date in December. They were married by June and she is the happiest she's ever been in her life. She is the most She says he's the love of her life. He She is just like a teenager. She looks younger. It's crazy. Like she's acting like she's like a teenage girl in love. Like she's giddy all the time. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen. And he's 89 and is more active than anyone I've ever seen. Like it's crazy. Anyway, this weekend they went tubing on the boat. And I was like, "Okay." So I was sitting there, everyone's going tubing and I hear Ma, who by the way, they're wearing like clothes because they're not planning on getting in the water. She said that Ken asked like, "Oh, should I bring my trunks?" Like when they were packing. She's like, "Oh, no. We're not even going to get in the water anyway." So anyway, I'm sitting in the back with them. I'm needle pointing obviously. And I hear her start to say to him like, "You know, if I had my swimsuit, I would love to go out there." And she's like, "If you had your swimsuit, would you go out there?" And he was like, "Oh, I don't I don't know. Like that's not really my I don't know if we could do that." And then he realizes that she wants to go and he's like, "Oh, no. We're going." So, they go fully clothed, okay, on the tube, had the time of their life. She said it was the most fun she has had in years. Possibly the best weekend of her life when I called her to let her know that she's also viral, which probably, let's be honest with it. The woman loves the camera. Anyway, if you guys haven't seen the video, go to my Instagram or my TikTok right now and watch the video. I cried when I was editing it. I was on the way home and I literally like cried. It's the sweetest video I've ever seen. It's my grandma, 79, my Ken 89, and they fell in love and got married this year. She's acting younger and happier than I've ever seen her. And now, oh my god, look, they're giddy. The video was the cutest thing I've ever seen. And now 5 million views, 6 million total on Tik Tok. I mean, you know, Mike is loving this. So, I called her yesterday to be like, "Ma, you're viral." Which of course, like, leave it to her to beat me at my own game. Like, this is literally my job and she's viral, you know? And she's like, "Oh, I know. I've been refreshing the comments. Mind you, this woman used to not even have social media on her phone. Okay, so I'm like, "All right." She probably downloaded to like see her clips or something on the podcast. She's like, "Oh, I've just been refreshing all day. Isn't this just the funniest thing?" She goes, "Oh, I've sent it to every single person that I know, and they keep asking what's next, and I'm saying Mount Everest." It's it's just crazy. But in all seriousness, like if there was something that needed to go viral, it is that because it gives you hope. Like, it is just the sweetest thing ever. And you guys know I love older people. Like, that's just like that's my people. Like, those are my people. That's my group. like I love them and for those people who could have easily just given up on life and not in like a negative way but like not had hope for like the other things like finding love like they could have just been like you know I'm older whatever kind of thrown in the towel and just like lived not to the fullest they are living life to the fullest and it is just the sweetest thing ever he turns 90 in November it's crazy so anyway I will be having them on we do need to have a meet Ken episode he's the sweetest man alive and I have booked their timing I wish it has actually honest to god nothing to do with them going viral. I was planning on doing that anyway, but I need you guys to meet him and then for Valentine's Day we'll do a double date episode, but like that needed to happen. So anyway, first matter of business, MA is viral. Second matter of business, Brooke is on her way to Dallas right now and we are about to do a nice little stitch episode because her collaboration is launching today. But guys, this book is such a good read. It's so nostalgic. There's so many references. Like it's just such a like loving like a romance book that just like grips you and just you're in this new world. like she world builds in a way that almost feels similar to like fantasy world building which I feel like is the best of all the world building that there like ever could possibly be. It's so good. Oh my god. Wait guys, speaking of We need to chat. I finished The Calamity Club last night. [sighs] Oh my god. I had to finish it last night cuz I wanted to be able to come on the show and recap it with you guys. That is five star. Five star. Five star every which way that you chop that book. Five star. Now, might I suggest you need to listen to it on Audible? Okay, everyone was saying to me that that to me at first. I love a good audio book, but I'm definitely like between the two, I would lean more Kindle reader, but there's certain books that you just have to have on Audible. And really, just the truth of the matter is that I'm always needle pointing. Like I'm either always working or I'm needle pointing. And so that is what is kind of like hurt me with my reading because I used to read like a 100 books a year, but now anytime that I would been reading, I'm needle pointing. So now I've been listening to a lot of audio books, I can still read. You guys get the whole gist. Anyway, that book is one that needs to be listened to on Audible because it is so well done and the voices bring the characters to life in a way that I've like really haven't really felt about a book. I listened to the last probably like 25% on Audible. It I mean it's like a 27 hour long audio book. There's nothing like it. It takes place in Mississippi. There's so many different characters. It's the same author as the help. I actually like don't even really want to get into it because I don't want to I I don't want to like ruin any of this for you guys, but it's just the greatest book. Like take my word for it cuz everyone was telling me like you need to read The Calamity Club and I was like when I'm in the mood for that book, I'm reading it immediately. And I just finished The Calamity Club. So please let me know when I need to be reading. Also, I need good audio books. I need recommendations so bad. I'm having one of the worst book hangovers of my entire life and I really just need good wrecks this year. So far, I've loved The Correspondent by Virginia Evans, one of my top all-time favorite books. Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reed, oh my god, The Women by Kristen Hannah, my all-time favorite book. Those have been like my top. Um, but God, I just need a good book wreck. So, please send them my direction. Also, speaking of recommendations, guys, we are doing a Halloween special. And by we, I mean it's the typical house guest special crew. So, it's me, myself, Harrison, Caroline, his sister, and then Charlie, my fiance. and we are doing a Halloween episode where you guys are gonna send in all your scary stories. We're gonna get around the campfire and we're gonna have a little like scary scary night. However, obviously we need costumes and we just like cannot for the life of us for some reason as someone who's so like spirited and like loves to dress up, loves a costume, loves the whole thing for a dinner party. I cannot for the life of me decide like what we're going to wear for our Halloween costumes and like no one is no one else can either. So if you guys have good things like maybe that are obvious, we can't do a garden. We've already dressed up as a garden for so many different things. Like what would make sense and like be timely for this year. Like I I really don't know. I need Halloween costume recommendations. Please let me know because we're we're shooting that very soon. I'm ignoring the small details that are slowly falling apart like the faucet the the thing >> that's so homeowner core though like there's always something to improve upon and then just when that it's like a pipe burst or Yeah. >> I was actually thinking about that like right before you came over and cuz like our pool is messed up right now and I'm like god it's always something I was like Brooke gets it. Yeah, I I get and I just I just have a condo. I can't even imagine a home. Like you have a roof. Like you have to like [laughter] tend to a roof. Like I'm really like there's always drama with a roof. >> I feel like the outside like I I remember like growing up hearing my dad talk about like siding and stuff of the I'm like I don't even know what that means. Like there's so many layers to >> You know what I know about insulation? >> What do you know? >> Recently, so a friend of mine, we just got an office and I needed some beautiful like fabric corkboards, but I don't know if you know this about a corkboard, a massive one. Those go for like $800 bucks. Like it's insane. >> So, I saw this girl on Tik Tok and she made a Tik Tok. Um I like linked it somewhere. I've been like resharing it, but she made a Tik Tok about how you can get insulation board from Home Depot and you just have them cut it to the size that you need and then you cover it with fabric. So, if you go in front of our offices right now, there's like fabric boards everywhere because I did it and it was like one fifth of the price >> and it looks good. >> Yeah. And look, look at me. Like, are have you advanced past that? >> No, no, no. And that that's not an advanced or not advanced thing. That's just preference. >> I love stretcher bars. Um, but I on the smaller ones lately, I don't know what it is. Like, I've always been a stretcher bar person, but I feel like I've like kind of broken free re recently, but on my big ones, I always do. I also got a scroll recently. Anyway, I'm still like more of a stretcher bar than girl than I'm not. >> Yeah, I don't know why I I guess that is my personal preference, but anyways, I'm working on right now the the gorgeous pickle lover canvas. I feel like it's the perfect size for travel. Um, you know, and then I have the I deserve a little treat needle minder right up here. Honestly, these stretch bars like don't really fit, but I like made it fit, you know, cuz it was like what I have. Like I'm not going to go out and buy new stretcher bars for a project, but like I have them at this point in my stash. >> In my stash. In my stash. >> Yes. And like people don't need anything from me right now. >> I'm obsessed. I noticed that you were up early this morning cuz I flew here early this morning and you were like sending me texts early and I was like, "Oh, we love an early bird." >> An early bird. Normally, I'm not on my phone cuz I'm like, "Everyone please leave me alone. I have to stitch." You know, like I'm I'm busy. But also really um the real reason as to why I've been stitching up a storm >> is because I am doing a needle point Christmas tree this year for the first year ever. I don't know if you've ever seen the needle point Christmas tree that is my life goals on TikTok, but um I did have the hard real harsh reality of realizing that that was 600 needle point ornaments on the tree. Yeah. So I was like, "Oh, so I probably have like 20." And I also do massive projects all the time. Like if I just did an ornaments, I probably would have like 200 at this point. >> Yeah. I I mean I'm looking like in my eyesight right now, I see multiple projects. >> Multiple projects. No, I know. It's It's sad. So anyway, with that being said, I'm like, "Okay, I'm getting it together and I'm sending nine off to the finisher tomorrow and I did get guaranteed delivery back by the time my Christmas tree is going up." So, I will have more. And then then I think that seeing the Christmas tree not as full as I would like it to be will be good for me personally cuz it's going to push me to finish more ornaments. You know what I mean? >> That'll be good. >> Yeah. At first, I didn't really like I I feel like ornaments is a big needle point thing. Actually, we do have a gorgeous I I I lowerase finish, right? Isn't that what they say? I'm learning all the lingo, guys. I'm I'm kind of new here. But like, you know, I feel really included by the community. But this is also part of our collection. Um, but at first with the ornament thing, I was like, I don't really get it. Like I what do you mean? But then I realized that you could kind of like use them as like door hangers or you can put it on a pillow if you like you can do other things with it cuz I I don't see myself necessarily having a full needle point ornamentry, but I would like to put a few on there. >> They're nice gifts to give cuz it's like a little something. It's I like the size. Yeah. >> I didn't either at first cuz I was like, look, if I'm giving all of my time and hard effort and money into this, you you bet your ass it's going to be out year round. But then as time has gone on, I'm kind of at the point too where I'm like, damn, I don't even have like I'm at the point where I will, first off, I've run out of doors for door hangers. [laughter] And then um in some of them we've moved to the office and then also I'm like I'm kind of out of pillows. But I think we should start with your journey into Needle Point, your little foray to needle point. Can you give us a little intro on how this all how this all started? Can I literally think it was a manic episode? Like I I'm not even joking. Like I was having like Cuz you texted me and you're like, "Is everything okay?" Cuz I I picked up running and needle pointing in the same week. No, this was last October. >> No, I I really did. And someone else texted me. It was like, "Is Brooke good?" And then I was like, "Why are you asking?" I went to Instagram. I was like, "Oh, something something's going on at home." >> No, I just had a panic where I was like, "I I stand for nothing." Like I And I I do I stand for lots of things, but like I was reading. Yeah. That was like a recent hobby, but I was just like, I feel like I need things to keep me occupied. And I like I do like having a challenge. Like I work really well when I have >> a goal. >> A goal. Exactly. Like it was like, okay, I'm gonna run this half marathon or like, oh, I'm going to Well, that was my running goal. Now I haven't ran since that cuz I like did that, you know, now I need a new goal. Um, but then needle point, I was like, oh, I'll learn this new thing. And I just became obsessed. I needed something to get me off my phone. >> Um, I literally texted Kenzie like I was like, "Hey, I'm going to go to this Needle Point store in the morning. Like, what do I need to and you sent me like a little voice note and you told me what to ask. I went to Rita's on the Upper East Side in New York. Yeah, there's so I mean you literally walk in, you think you're in someone's kitchen. Like it's >> it feels like a me Ryan movie. >> It literally feels like a me Ryan. We just did I have this like new series that we just started actually this week on YouTube called The Crawl where I go to like different cities and we tour like we did like New York needle point stores, New York stores. We're doing a bunch of different things and I was there talking to the Rita's girls and they're like everyone always says me Ryan movie. I'm like no it's literally a merian movie. >> Yeah. No, you walk in and you're like, "Oh, like it feels like home." Like it does. It does feel It's not even kitchen. It's like living room, honestly. Like you feel like you walked in here like you're kind of like, "Am I in the right place at first, but then you look around, you see everything on the wall." Um the ladies in there are absolutely lovely. Um and they'll help you out. And I feel like I didn't really know what to do and they have beginner kits. So, I kind of like picked up a beginner kit and then I asked you for a stitching tutorial. I'm still stitching continental. Um so, I'm Look, I'm doing um Texas to Maine, right? That's what they >> There's nothing wrong with doing continental though. There really isn't. I was a continental girl for a very long time and like it was kind of annoying that everyone was pushing me. But now that you want to learn basket weave, I will give you No. And it looks like you're stitching fast. Like I do see the speed benefit. Um but I just >> Well, the speed benefit. Do you know about this thing called scooping? >> No. >> Okay. So tell me >> it would be a little hard the way that I'm doing this within a regular right now. >> Scooping you basically like the way that you you do like double the stitching. It like cuts your time in half because you would go through you basically don't go up and down. It would just be I can't describe it to you unless you can basket weave because it would be it just doesn't make sense unless advanced level. Yeah, >> it's just But I I did learn scooping over the summer. But I'm just not a big scooper because I'm a stretcher bars girl. You wouldn't like it cuz you're a stretcher bars girl. >> Okay. Well, you we'll we'll do basket weave first. Like some of these things I you do need to learn in person. Like I could watch a million videos of this basket weave and I literally like it won't click in my brain. I don't know what's happening. Um, so it does help. Like I, you know, it would have probably benefited me to like take a course or like do a little like group thing, but like this has been a very like individual hobby. I have to say I really haven't like >> I don't really know many like people in my life that do it. Like Danielle doesn't do it. Katie doesn't do it. I bought Katie a kick cuz I was like I feel like you would like like this cuz she likes like being off her phone and stuff, but I feel like it's >> it's it's kind of in New York I I hold down the hobby for it, you know, like with the needle pointing. Um, >> but it's just like a really wholesome hobby. I've never been like super artsy and I wouldn't say that this is artsy in any sense but like you can be a little creative with picking out the threads and >> and the more time goes on the more creative you become too cuz now I'm like now I see it as such a creative thing like I mean of course now with having the brand to do stuff but like at the beginning I was just it was kind of paint by numbers and now I'm like oh I'll do whatever I want. You know what I mean? Like >> just because it's blue doesn't mean you have to do blue. >> Yes, you can color swap. I didn't know that at the very beginning. >> Yeah. Like for me, I I just feel like because we started sharing our lives and so much about it, like I need to be filming and sharing my life like all the time. But there's so many people who are like, "Yeah, I film one dinner party a month and then that's their whole thing for the whole month." And I'm like, >> "But you're not going to film like your your workout. You're not going to film 100%." Or like or like I feel like I I'm thinking 10 steps ahead. I'm like, "I want to do this thing, but like I have to think about how I'm going to announce it." And like that's not even a thought that goes through other content. They're like, "You I don't know if I'm even going to talk about I'm like, "No, I have to do like a roll out of announcing my move or my like you, you know, you have to really >> we think through our decisions." Yeah. I mean, of course, the engagement drop, you know, you had to think about that. You >> of course, [laughter] of course. No. And I I feel that way, too. I think that we're chronic oversharers. I I feel like I've learned a balance with like other people in my life cuz I've realized that like certain people, >> my fiance doesn't like to be in my videos. He doesn't like to be like on camera. the most supportive behind the camera of course, but like I feel like I've learned boundaries with that stuff. >> Mhm. >> But in terms of me oversharing, I stay oversharing. >> Like it's just that's just how it is. I was so excited about this. And then as time went on and then friend of mine was developing needle point I was like hey so if you want to do a collaboration like we are doing that she was like done and so we designed the I mean this has been done for months. >> Yeah this was like almost beginning of the year I feel like we kind of like got this >> final ball rolling and then we were good to go. Like I would just say I'm constantly like stressed about something like and little things will stress me out like a bug will stress me out or like if I am like thinking about you know someone's about to walk in in 5 minutes like that would stress me out like I'm just like you know pre-thinking about things that would stress me out. >> She's really honestly always kind of in a state of panic. Like that's really what it is. It's not anxiety. It's >> oh my gosh no my nervous system just has never been relaxed a day in my life. Like honestly I don't know what that's like. You know when people are like I relax my nervous system and I'm like I I I don't know how. >> You were like what you can do that? >> No. And I've done the deep breaths. I've tried the meditation. Don't tell me that. Like I, you know, I've tried. >> The closest I get to it is the shioasa in a hot yoga class. And I'm just I'm like, but then I'm just running through my day. >> That's cuz you're tired. >> Yeah. I'm tired. And I'm like, so what can I do after this? I don't do this. Like Yeah. Um but I was actually It started with my friends from home. Um I was on a bachelorette >> and I like we were split up at different tables and I was just like I feel like they saw it in my eyes and they were like, "Oh my gosh, Brooke, you are always panicked about something." saying one of my friends, she was like, and it literally is like, "How panicked is Brooke today? Is she like a green, a yellow, or a red?" And I took this bid back to Danielle, who I do my podcast with every week, Girls on the Go. >> Girls on the Go. >> Yes. Go listen. Um, and she loved it. It's like but it's like kind of funny cuz it's like you're not actually panic. Like it's you're panic about something so stupid. Like oh my gosh I'm like a weirdo. I was awkward before like Yeah. And I feel like we didn't really go for like a specific like I mean the theme is like I guess treats like we kind of went for like that like candy pickles like ice cream just like I wanted like >> it's everything that like Brooke loves basically. >> Yeah. No, literally >> when we do collections with people we are always thinking like when we did Harrison's it's like all of those things were modeled after like even like the grocery tote was like literally out of after his exact grocery tote. Like everything is based around like what they like. So, it was just like perfect, >> natural, great fit. Yeah, I know. And I tried to like think of some designs that were like not somewhat out of the box because I feel like, you know, you go into these needle point stores, you shop online, whatever. Um, and I feel like the big candy one is definitely like I have not seen that done at least. >> I love that one. >> Me too. Me too. And I feel like people are going to get really creative with the threads and stuff on that. >> I know. I'm excited to see those finished. That's the best part about releasing new collections is seeing everyone's stuff. People are so creative. Like the way I'm like, "Oh, I would have never even thought to do that." >> Really? >> With different types of stitches. >> Yeah, different types of stitches, color swapping, like the way that they have it finished. It's just like so fun. >> Oh, I'm so excited about that. Yeah, I need to get more creative with the finishing ideas cuz I've seen people do like trays and uh What else can you do besides just pillows and like door hanger? Like I need to get a little >> The one thing that I think I just like one day I'm sure I'll be looking back at this be like, "Haha, that's a joke." Cuz you have like 15 of these. But the only thing I'm like not dying to do is like a brick cover because I don't like use bricks. >> What cover? >> A brick cover. Have you seen those? They're like real like >> Oh. Oh. Is it like just >> like a doors stop basically, >> but it's like on top of a brick, but they have it for so many things. And I mean I'm saying that now and then I'll I'm probably like 3 months from now I'll be like So I'm obsessed with brick covers and I have them everywhere. Um there's just like so many different ways that you can have them finished. And also I feel like in wear as far as like wearable stuff we've been like I don't know. No, I just think like Needle Point is really heading in an exciting direction because things are like just getting a lot more creative as there's naturally as there's like a lot more people doing it. >> It's obviously at like such a peak. I This is thread from like this is how I know that this is thread from like three or four years ago is because it's so now I have an organization system. I'll show you what I do. I'll give you a tutorial. It's actually very easy. But that's how I know. I'm like, "Oh, well, whatever." Yeah, cuz mine is in I I kind of want to swap it to this tote bag, but I just have a tote bag in my closet that I like pull out and it's just a mess. >> It's a mess. Yeah, >> my actual project bag right now is a mess, but the way that I do the threads has gotten better >> cuz also I've like tried to actually stitch from my stash. >> I see. You know, >> well, that's good. I know cuz I I've been trying to like practice some restraint, too. I'm like I have so many especially now with this collection. I'm like, please >> let's do let's do some of the ones that you designed, Brooke. Let's not need to go to the store. >> Literally, I know I'm like I literally own a needle point brand and I'm still shopping. >> I really I will say like 95% of the time I'm stitching our designs. >> But that's also cuz we have like so many at all times. >> I will say also if you're new and you're like, "Oh, I don't know like what to do, but I like want to get into this." Like literally I would buy one of these and bring it to your LNS, your local needle point store, and literally just say like, "Can you help me?" And they will kit it for you, which essentially means like helping you pick out the correct threads. They could even help you with the stretcher bars. If you say like, "I've heard about these stretcher bars." They can help you with that. I Some are more helpful than others. I've been to like some needle point stores where they're like, "Oh, girl, we're going to do you up." You know, and they like literally just set up the project for me, which is so nice. They like legit >> I went and it was like still on my newer >> Yeah. >> part of my journey and she hooked it up. >> No, it's really nice to find someone who's like very nice and they need a point space, but also like a lot of the time they'll just teach you a stitch on the spot too if they're not busy. Yeah. No, and it was so sweet like in the store there was like, you know, people that were like real like trying all sorts of like really funky stitches and like so community. I I do really like that even though I'm like not going to necessarily like events like the online community with it is really cool. >> It is very cool. Like it's very I've also made cuz like I didn't have any friends that were stitching until now. Every single friend of mine stitches like a whole group in Dallas. Every single one needle points. Like we are always needle pointing. But that's because I made the group of friends that I wanted to see. I converted them all. They all have been Kinsey Peeled is what we say cuz they're playing maong. They're needle pointing, you know, they're doing the whole thing. But I've made a lot of friends in the world, too. And it's just like fun. And you get to connect with people from like different generations. >> That is so fabulous. Should we get into some like bridal things? >> Um, yeah. I think that would be so because we literally got engaged like uh within a month of each other. >> Yeah. I think you texted me and it was I think I got engaged 2 weeks later. >> Wow. And you knew like you were like, "Hey, >> I like knew I was going to be engaged." Like I like didn't I wasn't like shocked, >> but also there was only one weekend that it would work logistically because of everyone's travel. So like then I just knew it would be that because I knew that >> he wouldn't do it without Dom or without my sister and they were both only in town that one weekend. >> So I was like obviously it's going to happen then. >> I get it. I get it. when you set certain parameters when you're like this person has to be there or this like you're kind of setting it up in a way for like less >> whim surprise I guess or like complete like shock. >> Yeah. And I had a date too that he couldn't propose before like I was like you literally have to wait until at least after this date and I knew it would be like right then. >> I kind of said that too now that looking back on it but then I like took it back and then he was like it's kind of too late cuz I wanted to wait till after. I had a bunch of friends weddings and I was like, "Let's just wait till they're over." And then like in the middle of them I was like, "You know what? We can just do it. >> You're gonna surprise right." >> And then and then he waited. And it was literally the week after and but I was still so caught off guard. I don't know why. [laughter] That was the parameter that I gave. I was like, "Wait till after these." And then it was I was like, "Are you serious?" Like [laughter] no way. I also It's like Charlie and I spent so much time together too because we live together and we work together. So it would just be so >> hard. Like there was just no world in which I wasn't and just my personality type. Like there was no world. And I also to be honest did not want to be surprised because like I don't my hair does not look good every day and I needed like the fresh blowout. >> Oh, I get it. Yeah. >> Like that needed to happen. I was just absolutely not. >> Mine was somewhat well timed. Actually, my hair does not look good every day either, but there was like a convenient timing thing with the day before I had like a video interview thing. So I had I had gotten like a spray tan for it and like a ton of things like so it was like really lined up. That's actually amazing. >> I know. I know. And then I remember like I had my makeup done and he had said something. He was like, "Oh, is this like the only time like now now looking back like he was like, "Oh, is this the only time like you're going to get your makeup done like this week?" I was like, "I get my makeup done like once a quarter." Like you know what I mean? Like I don't do that a lot. But I could tell he was like, "Oh, darn." Like I feel like she would like it would have been perfect so much better if Yeah. cuz that would have been like really lined up. But it was >> it was perfect. It was No complaints. No, I know what you mean, though. on the hair thing. I definitely would have tried harder on my makeup if I knew. I was like giving like I was like, "Okay, this is a no mascara day." [laughter] >> Probably would have added a little, you know. >> Yeah. >> Looking back, >> my favorite era of Brooke is you now on the treadmill with the like wedding old vintage wedding magazines, like the whole like I'm obsessed with this. >> I love leaning into it. And you can now channel your energy into this wedding instead of your red panic. And you'll have red panic during the wedding though. >> Exactly. into like bettering, you know, myself and to I and I I do have a wedding planner because I just I mean it would be a disaster if I tried to plan that thing myself. What are your thoughts on showers? >> I like I see the use case for it for like 99% of people, but I feel like I don't know. I can't speak for you, but I feel like I'm the 1% that like doesn't need it just because I I've been >> I think if you've been living with your person for a long time and you kind of already have like your home established together, all of your stuff >> like I don't there's I don't need more stuff. It's been something that I've been wanting to do for quite some time because I just think that we need to and Harrison feels very passionately about this with me as well. Yes. I definitely would say I'm like in the middle of all my friend groups and stuff, but I'm just not and this sounds bad because people are going to probably say like, "Oh, I just can't wait to marry my husband. I cannot wait to marry my fiance as well." Like I truly can't. But I just feel like we already live a very conjoined life. >> You're just in a rush. Like it's >> Yeah. I I think that's more so what it is. He's also extremely busy. He's a resident physician. So I think like it's stages of life, too. Like you know, I that's like his focus right now. Like we're both like in a very like career era. So we're like, "Hey, if we spread out, if we do a longer engagement, we're not going to be less stressed." Um I don't know. I just don't like I just didn't think anything of it. And then I realized that but what is there's no like right or wrong. >> No, but it was B. I just felt like it was actually insane. And like this is just me. I'm always like more mad like angry for Brooke than Brooke is. But like it was so crazy the way that people because what it would be at that point it's like a 2-year engagement. >> Yeah. >> I don't I feel like that's like a normal time. Like we will have like around a year and a half >> and people were acting like ours was so long. >> I'm like how is that long? I'm like I have to plan a wedding. Like if it were up to Charlie we would have been married like a year ago. and we had were barely dating at that point. Like he is so like just wants to be married and is happy with everything. So he was like, "Well, we could probably get married this year." I'm like, "Are you actually okay?" Like he doesn't understand what it takes to like plan a wedding and he will cuz he's so involved. >> But it was just one of those things where I'm like, "That is crazy." Like how is that a lot? Like >> how is it a long Yeah. And I don't like things to be on a rushed timeline. Like I I know the dresses it's red panic. And I just know for me personally like my personality like I like having that long goal. Yeah. I like that like I it doesn't need to be like one you know nine months let's get it together like I that would stress me more out than having this long time. People say that it's like more time to like you know ponder decisions makes it like more I don't I just completely for me personally I disagree like I think that it will also my opinions I know will change and that kind of like gives me time to like form new ones sort of >> cuz I don't know if I would have planned this the same wedding two years ago that I would today. Do you think you would? >> You're pretty like solid in your taste. I feel like you have >> like [snorts] where we're getting married though isn't like my favorite place ever in the world ironically even though everyone assumed that it is. It was completely venue dependent and honestly no because the the actual place that we're having our ceremony. I hadn't even thought about getting married in a place like that. >> Yeah. >> Until we were touring this pa this space and we passed it and I was like, "Wait, that's cool." And I went and I thought about it that or I didn't I saw a video that morning and I was like, "Oh, that's actually like really chic." And then I went in that morning and I was like, "This is the sign. We'll do it." Like that was kind of it. And the venue itself, like where we're doing everything else after is really great, but >> um no, probably not. But also, I'm trying like I don't want to get into this whole like timeless wedding thing. I just want to do whatever I want to do. Like that's just adding so much more stress to you. Like I don't care about, you know, people are like and everything has to be crisp, clean, like whatever. I'm not. No, I don't. >> And it like doesn't even look like you like at least especially cuz there's a difference too between like going for the trends or going for what you like at that time. And honestly, I mean there's no right or wrong with anything, but if you're going at least with like what you like, even if it is trendy, like I'm ever I mean I always like things that are trendy. like always. But we have a long engagement too. So like friendships change. If once again two years ago if I made my list there there would be differences. >> Totally. We made our list like before we got engaged because we were just trying to like go through numbers. We were just going through numbers and at first I was like I want like 115. I think I said 150 actually >> and then we made the list and like a list that was actually like very difficult for us to like and we were getting people off was 250. But the problem is that Charlie and I have both lived so many different life phases and have moved around and keep up with people and like are just people people. So it's really difficult. And also it's like Charlie went to Venova, then he went to the Army and all that and it's like I lived a bunch of places. I went to college. I went to like >> so that is hard. Um but I'm not doing the whole like I mean look so many of my friends live in different cities. I can't do the whole if we haven't had dinner in the past year, you're not invited. Like that cannot happen. I understand people who have like lived in the same place forever and like I get it. I actually do get that. But look, we just like logistically speaking cannot do that. >> No, I Yeah, I have a lot of most of my friends at this point are long distance, so like I completely agree. >> Um, someone said like a good rule is like could you call them in and not be weird? >> Yeah, I think that's good. >> And I feel like that's like just like a internal like concept to reflect on maybe with certain people [laughter] like I'm like, "Huh?" Like, yeah, would it be? But I don't know. There's like certain people that it's like long friendships that just like you know maybe we're not as close but like you're going to be at my wedding like you know who I'm talking family friends and things like that. >> So no I don't think we're trying to do like rules. We're not doing a wedding party. >> I know we should talk about that. I am barely >> I and do whatever you I don't also don't we don't have um like I don't have a sister. He doesn't have a brother. We each have he is an older sister and I have a younger brother. But we're like that. We're going to like get them involved that way. But we I feel like I don't have I mean Danielle's going to be my mate of honor. That's like who I have. Yeah. But it's not like I have like this big family where it's like, >> you know, we're all going to be in it. You know what I mean? I I guess I I didn't >> And I wasn't like in my cousin's wedding. Like I didn't have that. >> Yeah. I also think like with wedding parties, as someone who's like having one technically, but we're not doing a lot of the traditional things with that. But like I do think that they're cheoogy and outdated and it does feel weird to like rate your friendships and to like I don't like that aspect at all. But like I'm only doing six and it was like I either did six or I did 17 >> and it was three of her family and the other three are like Molly, Dom, and Macy. So it's like you're like I'm not doing it in that and I don't want anyone standing up with us. We're not doing I don't want anyone planning anything either because like I just feel like that's another job >> on them and like I know what I want and I just don't need that. Good for you. I don't want to do I just think that like the pressure that is added to people when they're in weddings is like miserable. Like I don't want anyone to feel that way about my wedding. >> I I feel that way too. I think I I've seen it done where people get jobs on the day of >> I'm like what what do you mean a job? Like we're we're at a wedding. Like yeah on a job. And of course I would do anything for my friends. Like don't get me wrong. Like if a friend was like, "You're on video duty." No. But I think I also feel like we have planners which is really nice that relieves some of the stress load. I think if you don't have like a day of coordinator, I completely would understand like leaning more on the bridal party. I think cuz I think that's like a really chaotic thing with like the timing and like what to do. >> Um >> that's another thing though I didn't even really realized with bridesmaids until cuz again like this is how uninvolved I've been in weddings my whole life is that I didn't really realize that bridesmaids were like there to like help you. >> Yeah. No, that's >> I thought they were just there to like celebrate and hang out. Like I didn't know that they were like I'm like, "Oh, I don't need that. I just want them to come and like have fun. Like I don't need." And also I needle pointed each one of them a bag. So that helped me keep my number low cuz I was like I can't do that. I really can't. I mean, I literally have like like the group of people that I'm going to invite probably on my bachelorette like probably would be my like I I have, you know, I have that group, but once again, I wasn't I was never into the all wearing matching dresses or even the color palette for me. Like it's just >> you one thing about Brooke and like Danielle and I have like pranked her so many times. There's no one in this world who hates matching more than Brooke. I once again I feel very lucky because we've had a lot of like life experiences that have been like I don't want to say similar to a wedding but we've had live show. >> I completely agree. I think that that's a big thing is that I've had so many event like I'm over myself and I've had so many events that like had to do with me that I'm like I that's why I feel like >> and it does sound crazy to say but I'm like I get why this is the biggest day ever to other people and not that like anything isn't that big of a deal or whatever but like I don't really need another thing that's like about me. And getting ready I know like when we're getting ready for live shows and like some of them we had like all of our friends and family there to get ready and it stressed me out so much and we both would get so anxious and that was like you know the time that we were like getting the most nervous. But when it was like just me, Danielle, Michelle, and my mom, like loved the best vibes, chill, you know? Yep. >> So, I just know the energy that I like and that's all like preference. >> Um like I think getting ready with like 20 people, >> I see the fun in it. Even like I have every and it sounds crazy. He's like, "I have every dinner party shot, but I have that shot because I spend so much time and effort and we have the best nights ever and then I never have photos and I want those memories." Like I need especially it's like a grief thing. It's like I need those photos because like that's all you have at the end of the day. >> So, but it's like I don't want to spend like when I see people like they're gone their whole cocktail hour, which is normal. Like that's what you do. You take photos and they have a cocktail hour and I'm like but I wouldn't be at the cocktail hour. >> Yeah. >> I'm like wait what? Like that makes me like >> that's what that's why I think we I mean we definitely would do the first look. Like we'll do that. So, I feel like we would take our pictures before and then to be present at the cocktail hour. I mean, this is like loose concept, so like I haven't like, you know, sat and gone through it, but I think I've gone to enough weddings to be like, >> "Oh, I like that they did like I like that they were at the cocktail hour cuz I got to talk to them." >> Um, I like that they came over to our table dinner cuz I got to see them. So he was in everyone's wedding and he's given a speech at everyone's wedding. People that he doesn't even like really he's not like super close with this to this day. >> He gives a good I could see him. >> Oh he gives an amazing speech. Like the best speech you've ever heard. That's why he gets all these speeches at weddings. And then he's like thinks that he has to ask all of them back to do these speeches. My dad gave the most incredible speech ever at my sister's wedding. And he all week was like, "Yeah, I don't even have it written. I have no idea." He's like, "I I'll figure it out. Like we'll see." And he was like he was acting like I genuinely was like nervous for his speech because it seemed like he was so unprepared and like it was going to be bad. And my I forget my dad like spoke like was like led meetings his whole life. So I'm like, and it was the best speech ever. Like everyone was like, everyone was crying. It was beautiful and amazing and whatever. You know we're going to get married by a rabbi but he's like a cool rabbi. I mean they're always cool rabbis but like you know he actually knows us which I think is really cool. Like there's something about them that's there's this rabbi that the Foster sisters have on their podcast. I think they married Aaron actually and Simon. And then the other issue would be the fact that I don't want it to be in the same way where I'm like I was nervous all day for like doing people's wedding speeches. I feel like I don't know if I'm going to show my linens per se, but like I feel like I would be like, "Oh, here are the options of the linens." Or like, "Oh, I'm going linen shopping today." Like, that sort of thing. Uh, just cuz as a consumer, I would be curious. I feel like a lot of times people say nothing about their wedding and then drop it and it's just everything. >> Yeah. >> So, I would say like a little hint, but I guess you don't want to spoil too much. Dress 100%. Obviously, not sharing. Yeah. And not even show like I I don't need to even show like where I'm shopping like or if I do share like it will be like completely so different than what I end up >> choosing. I'm fine with sharing shopping. I just wouldn't share something that's like close to the dress. Like I would just share the stuff that I didn't go with. And I when I go wedding dress shopping, I want to try on like a ton of different things cuz I've never I didn't grow up dreaming of my wedding. Um, yeah, two more backto-back weekends. >> What's your favorite thing you've ever seen at a wedding? >> Ooh, that's such a good question. Ooh, favorite thing that I've ever seen at a wedding. Like I I need to think like general direction cuz I'm like right now I'm like fixated on like the music or like the the drinks or the dessert or like what it is that like I'm doing. >> What you What's yours? >> I don't really have one now that I'm thinking about it. I I think Bridget and Mitch's wedding was the best wedding I've seen in terms of like drink like drink availability and to me that was so intentionally done and so thoughtful. They had so many different stations for drinks and I just that to me I was like I mean that was like my favorite thing cuz they were thinking about the guest experience I guess in that way which I really liked. They also had the most insane, I will say, because now I'm paying attention to it, florals and lighting and those sort of things, like drapery and like literally like chandeliers in the freaking tent. Like it was insane. And yeah, so >> it's it's so crazy, too, when you like start getting like price tags for florals and you're like, >> "Oh, yeah." I'm like, "Okay, the floral budget's going to be pretty high." Yeah. >> Oh, perfect. Love that. I'm like, "Oh, >> yeah. Perfect." Yeah. I'm trying to think like favorite like unique thing though cuz that's what I'm trying to think of and I my favorite thing is when it's like something that the couple loves like >> Yeah, me too. >> very personal to them. >> I've seen like McDonald's done like afterwards like you know and that's like cuz they love McDonald's. Like I love like that. >> I love things that Yeah. that are just personal to the person. Like it's not necessarily like the actual act. It's just like what the mean what the mean. >> Of course. Because we always go on late night dates to McDonald's, you know. That's cute. I the connection to Oh, I mean, and Bridget Bridget mentions a frat party afterward. Like when I'm thinking about things with our relationship, like I need like an honor bar margarita, but like they'll just have to have that on the menu. >> Yeah. >> Because like we're not getting married in Dallas. >> Oh, but it doesn't matter. Wedding. Wedding should do drinks upon entering the property. Water. Definitely water too. Like if it's an outdoor ceremony, get these people a water. Please, please. Drinks, drinks, drinks. So many bars, it's an issue. Bar and dance floor in the same room. This is a big thing. A lot of the time the bar is like so far away from the dance floor and then the party. Yes. No one's dancing. But I don't really care if people like do whatever you want. Like if you want to dance. >> Um Oh, I've seen this done a lot. A lot of my college friends did the custom note thing where you sit down and I love that. I'm going to do that. >> Incredibly thoughtful. Um definitely timeconuming but like so meaningful. >> Yeah. So worth it >> to have that phone free ceremony. Obsessed. >> Oh yeah. >> Yep. Um I wrote down no drones during the ceremony because it's loud. Have you ever been sitting in a wedding and there's a drone? >> Cuz a lot of the weddings I've been to, honestly, most of them have been indoor. >> Oh, okay. I've been to a few outdoor and like >> it's a beautiful shot. Don't get me wrong. That drone shot's so good. You hear that thing buzzing above me? It's really interesting. >> Yeah. >> I put photos quick. Welcome party. Disposable cameras. That's good for the welcome party, I guess. Oh, this was really like it's really nice when weddings like if it's outside and it's a little chilly that they have like the shawls. Yes. You know, or I like the flip-flops like offering that if if you can. >> Um >> Oh, I am so not a fan of a grand exit, but I also like I just like I just exit. Like I'm I'm a silent exit. >> Yeah. >> Like I just go like I don't need I've done this so many times where it's like we're going to like line up and like see them out, you know? And I just like it kills the vibe kind of cuz you're like party party and then it's like off and then it's like everybody line up. We're going to throw rose petals now. And it's like okay wait I have to grab my purse. Like I >> Yeah. Like it's like a really abrupt ending. >> Yes. >> Yes. I've been to a lot where it's like a hard stop ending and it's like almost like it's a shock to the end, but I'm like, "You knew what time this ended." >> You know, they're like, "Oops." >> I wonder if people do that, too, because like they've got to get people out for the venue cuz the rental ends. >> Oh, so it's a good way to get everybody out. >> Oh, that's a good point. I think a lot of people do it for the photos, honestly. that photo of like >> and it is once again great shot but >> I I'm all about the guest experience and that to me I'm just like I if it's not naturally happening it's not >> but I also don't see us like going in a getaway car and like fleeing the country immediately. So like I don't know if we need to do that you know like I feel like that was like a old like back in the day they used to do that cuz it was like go to your honeymoon. >> Are you going to do that right away? Um, no. And we can't anyway with like timeline, but I think I would do like I want to do a safari for our engagement. >> Love. >> So, I would just do it dependent on that. And it's not going to be right after. I would like for it to be a little bit closer, but just with like the way that was another thing is that I needed to have our wedding scheduled first before because we have so many things happening with a friend of mine right now that I like had to have that calendar done to be able to like I had to have that done. >> Totally. So, no, we're not doing an like maybe we'll do like a little trip after. Yeah. I just feel like many I just feel like it would be so weird that you just like get engaged and like what you get on a plane the next day and then you go home. I feel like it's as much for like after going to a lot of weddings, I really think a lot of them you you definitely do things that you want to do, of course, like we're doing a DJ cuz we like a DJ for for sure, >> but I think a lot of the times the guest experience is like forgotten. Like I think a lot of the times it's like >> no, this is what what we want to do. But sometimes you have to think about the people that are like coming and traveling. So I feel like >> Yeah. I do think the wedding is like more for the guest. >> Y >> you know. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And like as a good host like that's good. >> Yeah. But hopefully the guests that you're inviting you like like and like care about >> you know so you want them to like enjoy. Um Yeah. Mine's my wedding like we don't we both don't have like huge family so it's definitely going to be like more friendheavy. So I'm thinking that more party vibes. I have no idea though. Like when I picture my wedding and all these people one room I'm like what the is this going to be like? Not to be like that [laughter] but like you know what I mean? And I have a massive family and I'm like very close to my family too and my even like my divorce sides are close with each other and whatever. We were together all last weekend and again at the lake and I'm sure someone, this is a different side of the family, they'll be asking for my scribe. They'll be asking for my notes. They'll be like, "What did so and so say?" >> You do it in your phone. You let me just put it in your phone. >> And then I put all the cousins on it and they said, "What did so and so say?" And I said, "Oh, let me pull it up really quickly for you." >> Oh, that is so smart. >> I started them at my cousin Alyssa's wedding. Cuz she was like, "Well, I'm not even going to like" She was like getting stressed because she's like, "Oh, she's missing. >> How am I going to know?" Yeah. I'm like, "Oh, I said no issue. I got you covered." >> Oh, that is so >> It was the greatest thing I ever did because it's really just brought me so much joy cuz it's like all the like crazy things that like you do or your family does or whatever and like you just forget them. And now you guys I think that's actually something that that's a good wedding tip. Honest to God, >> I would love for my friend like Yes. Oh, my wedding hot takeake is no brunch the day after.
