Video summary
The speaker claims to be a special Nintendo beta tester who has spent the last weekend playing unreleased titles for *Call of Duty* and *Dusk Bloods*, though they warn that all footage is subject to change as these are not final products. Despite receiving a copyright strike from Nintendo and FromSoftware regarding streaming their games, the creator managed to resolve the issue through a quick quiz and decided to share their first impressions instead. The video highlights the impressive technical performance of both titles on the new console, with *Call of Duty* running smoothly at 60 frames per second, which the speaker finds remarkable compared to other ports stuck at lower frame rates. They also note that while they are not a typical fan of the franchise, the ability to play such a massive multiplayer title alongside games like *Animal Crossing* and *Elden Ring* demonstrates the incredible versatility and power of the Nintendo Switch 2.
In the segment discussing *Call of Duty*, the speaker praises the fluid movement mechanics and the seamless cross-platform play between PC and console versions, noting that the game even streams assets from the internet to reduce hardware strain. They mention various control options, including gyro aiming similar to *Splatoon* or using a mouse, and express excitement about the campaign mode and potential future content like new characters in *Super Smash Bros*. The creator acknowledges that while the online lobbies might contain toxic players, the core experience of having such a high-fidelity shooter available on a Nintendo console is a major victory for fans. They also touch upon the unique asset streaming technique used by the game, which allows for incredible visual fidelity without overloading the system's local storage or processing power.
The focus then shifts to *Dusk Bloods*, a FromSoftware title that the speaker describes as a gorgeous Soulslike battle royale developed specifically for the Switch 2. Although the gameplay mechanics were initially confusing due to complex rules involving collecting "virtue" to advance through phases, the speaker eventually grasped the system and enjoyed the deep combat and character variety. They highlight specific characters like Zork, who possesses unique abilities similar to Iron Man, and explain that matches involve fighting bosses and praying at shrines to gain resources while avoiding theft from other players. The visuals are noted as stunning and running close to 60 frames per second, reinforcing the idea that this game was built with the new hardware in mind, offering an exclusive experience that feels almost illegal given its presence on a Nintendo console.
The video concludes with the speaker reflecting on the broader excitement surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2's upcoming library, mentioning confirmed titles like *Fire Emblem*, *Zelda: Ocarina of Time* remake, and *Super Smash Bros.* while speculating that 2027 will bring even bigger announcements. They emphasize that despite the potential for Nintendo to strike down their video, the creator worked hard on the content and genuinely loves the games they tested. The overall message is one of optimism for the future of the console, suggesting that the current hype cycle is just the calm before a massive storm of new releases in 2027, and they urge Nintendo not to remove the footage as it showcases the true potential of their latest platform.

Yes, the rumors are true. I'm a Nintendo
Beta tester apparently because I spent
this whole last weekend beta testing two
Nintendo Switch 2 games that aren't even
out yet. You can't play them right now,
but I've played them for hours. Call of
Duty and Dusk Blow.
Yeah, I want to preface this and stress
this at the start of the video. All the
footage you're going to see today is
from beta test. They are subject to
change. It's not the final product. I
will say though, I'm very impressed by
both. I mean that like from a
performance standpoint, a technical
standpoint. I'm going to get into the
weeds here, but I thought both put on a
fantastic display this weekend. So,
Nintendo,
work with me here. Please don't strike
my video down into an early fiery grave.
Dusk Bloods and Nintendo put out a
message before the release of this beta
test saying, "Hey, can you not stream
and show footage and clips and videos of
our game?" To which I respectfully
looked away. So, I streamed the game on
Saturday and I had a great time for the
most part. We'll get into that. Woke up
the next day and my stream was gone and
I had a copyright strike, which don't
freak out, Twitch sent me to copyright
school. I did a little quick test, a
little quiz, and they took the strike
away and we're all good. So, I'm not
going to stream the game anymore ever
again until it comes out. But I am going
to give you some first impressions.
Okay, before half of this video gets
nuked, let's talk about a game that has
a nuke, and that's Call of Duty. There's
like a nuke in that game, right? I'm not
a big Call of Duty guy, but I have been
very excited for Call of Duty to come to
Nintendo Switch 2 for a lot of reasons
that I've talked about a lot, but I just
I love the idea of the Switch 2 just
having everything, just catering to
everyone. The more people that buy a
Switch 2 and enjoy experiences and games
on this console, the better for all of
us. So, sure, bring Call of Duty. Bring
From Soft Games. I'll take it all.
Remember, I'm a Nintendo beta. I'll take
it all. Okay. Uh, but speaking of
playing games online, this video is
sponsored by Surf SharkVPN. You know,
because now that Nintendo allows you to
play these games where people are trying
to get you, don't let people get you
while you're browsing online or even
playing games online for that matter.
Surf SharkVPN will mask your IP address
for you. Essentially encrypting it in a
data protection tunnel so that nobody
can get into it. Meaning that no one
will access any of your information or
while you're playing games, they won't
do attack you. You know how in Call of
Duty there's that ability where you can
you can press the two button. There's
like a big electromagnetic boom. That's
what's going to happen to you if you
don't get Surf Shark. But I use Surf
Shark a lot when I travel like any
public Wi-Fi or airport. I never want to
blindly join a network called free
airport wifi_2
now thinking to myself this will be
fine. Thousands of other people are
connected to this right now as well as
me. That's fine. Also, one Surf Shark
account can be used on unlimited
devices. You know, if you have a VPN,
you can just put yourself in another
country and get whatever they have
early. Try it on Steam. Thank me later.
I use my Surf Shark antivirus almost
every day. It's baked into the app. I
just run a scan. It constantly blocks
malicious pop-ups or attempts on my PC's
life. Speaking of attempts for my life,
I should get back to Call of Duty. So,
if you want to grab Surf Shark, I highly
recommend it. You can get 4 months extra
by clicking the link in my description
down below or going to
surfshock.com/beamups.
That's surfshock.com/beamups.
Get yourself 4 months extra. You know,
cuz Nintendo might be able to strike
this video down, but you won't. I have
Surf Shark. Now, let's get back to me
losing in Call of Duty. Unlike with Dus
Bloods and Nintendo, I was actually
invited into the Call of Duty beta. I
was given express permission from Call
of Duty themselves to stream it early,
to keep all the footage, to review it
and use it as I so wish. And this is
wish How I sow. It was really weird
actually being a part of the Call of
Duty next streaming experience alongside
all of the other Call of Duty streamers
and players caught themselves put out a
tweet with all the names of the people
that were going to be playing. Just
seeing Wood Hawker in there. I've never
felt like such a fish out of water. Like
a cod. A cod out of For me, what I was
most looking for here is how does this
port run? Like I am so fascinated with
the Nintendo Switch 2 and what it can
do. Like it honestly feels like magic
that we have half of these experiences.
And Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 on the
Nintendo Switch 2 runs at and are are
you listening? Are you hearing me right
now? 60fps,
which the only question I have after
seeing that is what is literally
everybody else's excuse? Hey, Atlas,
huh? You're telling me Persona 3
Reloaded is stuck at 30fps and this is
double that? Math ain't math. Honestly,
it's just very impressive. I got to play
this pre-BA for 2 days. It's actually uh
closed now. At least the Switch 2
version. Even I can't access it anymore.
But it was a blast. I was crossplaying
with my friend Kip. He was on PC and I
was on my Switch, too. I was going
against players from all over the world
on all different platforms. And it was
working seamlessly. And the visuals are
really solid, which I'm only a little
bit terrified of the kids that are
allowed to play Call of Duty and what
they will hear in some of these lobbies.
Maybe they'll just be really nice. Maybe
the lobbies will be full of positivity
and people talking about their favorite
Mario movie moments. or maybe not.
There's an interesting setting in Call
of Duty that I noticed that apparently
has been around for a while that it
loads a lot of the assets from the
internet while you play. It like streams
them and sometimes you can see the
assets pop in not just on Switch but on
any platform. And it's because it's
literally downloading them from the
internet in real time, which is weird,
but also kind of cool, but makes sense
when it comes to the Nintendo Switch,
too, because it's just not putting that
extra stress on the hardware if it's
downloading the assets from the internet
instead. It's kind of a cool technique,
and I think a lot of these techniques
and a lot of the stuff that makes the
Switch 2 as magical as it is with its AI
upscaling and everything, is how we're
getting these really incredible
experiences portable. Oh, and I forgot
to say that I did play the campaign
mode. At least the section that it lets
you play. And it was good. It was the
same. It was great. And yeah, okay, I
suck. I've already said I don't play
Call of Duty. I don't know what I'm
doing. I think I've got to find my
favorite way to play because you can
play with just normal controls. You can
turn on gyro and act like you're playing
Splatoon. You can even use the mouse.
So, that was the Call of Duty beta. And
the full game is also going to have a
campaign mode. and I'm sure a bunch of
other content. And I'm just I I I don't
know. I'm pretty I'm pretty I'm pretty
I'm pretty I'm pretty I'm pretty
impressed that it's 60 fps. It kind of
had to be. You know how painful it would
be to play against PC players at like
whatever frame rates they're at and
you're only at 30.
I don't think so. I guess I haven't
really reviewed Call of Duty itself as
an experience like compared to other
Call of Duties, but I don't really know
how I would do that cuz I don't play
Call of Duty. It's fun. I had a good
time. I thought the movement was really
fluid and the guns were gunning. You
know, I recognized some of them from
from war. Whether or not you're excited
to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4
when it comes to Nintendo Switch is
honestly besides the point. I think this
should excite you no matter what because
your console can do this, which is such
a great sign for almost literally any
game to come. This is us winning. This
is Nintendo fans feasting. I've seen
people sharing screenshots of their
Nintendo Switch 2 home screens asking,
"What even is this console?" You have
Animal Crossing next to Call of Duty
next to Elden Ring next to
Super Smash Brothers. I mean, this thing
can do anything. In fact, when we get
the new Smash Brothers, think about the
possibilities. We're going to get Melena
and Call of Duty Man in Smash. Just take
all my money. Well, that's this video.
You ready to get it? copyright strike. I
can't even just show screenshots cuz
apparently that's not allowed either.
So, I may as well go full hog. I have
spent the last couple weeks actually
playing Elder Ring on my Nintendo
Switch, too, because they gave me a code
for that early, which is a little ironic
considering I do believe there are some
creators that are allowed to talk and
play and stream Dust Bloods cuz they
were invited from soft. I thought we
were friends. Are we not doing something
together here already? Why? I can't show
this. Why can't I show this? But playing
all of that Elder Ring leading up to a
Dusk Bloods beta, it was honestly such a
fun week for me. I was getting so amped
up to try this game out, but
unfortunately,
I really like it. You didn't know where
I was going. Uh, don't get me wrong, if
you watched my stream, I was very
confused. I played through all of the
tutorials, which didn't make a lick of
sense. I got to be honest with you. A
box would pop up every 2 seconds and say
something like, "You must acquire the
virtue by the end of the blood night,
otherwise the siren call will affect
your seven sides."
And I was like, "Yeah, that'll make
sense to me at some point." It was just
a bunch of words being said. I highly
recommend doing the tutorials, then
playing the game for a little bit and
then going back and doing the tutorials
once you sort of understand what any of
it meant. Just for full clarity. If you
think I'm being facitious, everyone was
confused. from me, my friends that were
streaming it, everyone in my chat, my
friend Bob and I were so confused about
the rules of the game that he even, and
I'm not kidding, went through the next
day and made a Google Doc instructional
pamphlet just for himself just so he
could understand the game and it's pages
long. Apparently, Nintendo and FromSoft
work pretty closely together on this
game with Nintendo offering FromSoft
some advice on how to make things
slightly less complicated. and some of
these mechanics make more sense for
Nintendo players. But before I give you
the short and skinny of how it works, I
want to say gorgeous game. I mean, good
lord. This Dusk Bloods is very clearly a
game that was developed for this system,
utilizing stunning visuals in a
fantastic resolution running at 60fps
kind of. It does dip down to 40 at
times, but it it tries to maintain that
60. But you can't really you can't judge
it yet because it's an online game and
this was a test, a network test. It's
not the final product. So, this is
literally the bugs and the kinks they're
trying to figure out. I will say though,
didn't bother me at all. I had an
absolute blast. So, this is, as best I
can describe it, how the game works. And
I want to clarify, I was very confused
myself, but I think I get the gist. You
get to pick a character, which in this
beta you had six to choose from, and
they all had very different abilities
and attack styles and play styles, and
it was fun to mix them up and mess
around. And Zork, Zork's the best one.
It's Zorkan time, baby. The internet's
fallen in love with Zork, and I can't
blame them. Look at that little beak.
It's glitchy glitches. He's got a wild
move set. He can He's like Iron Man. He
can blast off. ONCE YOU PICK a
character, you load into a game and it's
a PVPVE, which is player versus player
versus the environment,
battle royale kind of. You can partner
up with people in the game, or you can
play with your friends. Although there
was no like lobby making for the beta
anyway. Bob, Bingle, and I just had to
try and search at the same time and hope
that we get into each other's games
because, you know, nothing says
friendship like trying to disembow each
other. Each match goes in three phases,
and in each phase, you need to collect
virtue. If you don't have enough virtue,
which you can see in this big circle at
the top left of the screen at the end of
the phase, you get kicked out and you
don't make it to the next phase. Kind of
like Knockout Tour for you Nintendo
fans. If you're at the back of the line,
you get out. The thing that became
confusing was just how you collect and
keep this virtue. Cuz the first few
times I played, I thought I had a handle
on it. There was one time I had 140
virtue by the end of the game and I
still lost. But then my games following
that I struggled to amass more than 10
with my number bouncing around seemingly
at random and I couldn't figure out why.
And it's because there is so many
different ways to gain and lose it. Some
of the obvious ways to gain it is if you
go around and you fight some of these
bigger boss battles, which can be
brutally tough because, you know, it's a
Soulslike game. You can get a bunch that
way. Or towards the end of the second
phase, these gold shrine things will
unlock and if you pray to one, you'll
get a ton. But if another player prays
to it after you, they'll steal yours and
they'll get it. This guy has a gun.
There's a lot of abilities and items and
movement open to you. I really like the
combat. I think it has to be more
fast-paced like this to be engaging in
an online game, especially when you get
into the fights with the other players.
There are so many mechanics and moving
parts to this game that I don't even
have time or even understand to be able
to go into with you. The law is
incredible. I assume I understood
nothing. But it is really cool to just
be playing a FromSoft game on a Nintendo
Switch 2 console that's an exclusive
just for us. Just for us little guys.
Playing this game exclusively on a
Nintendo console feels illegal, which
it's not. I'm pretty sure the only thing
illegal about this game is posting
footage of it online, which but that's
gaming on a Nintendo Switch 2 forever
trying to decide if you want to build
something cute in Popia or murder a guy
in pajamas. How can I decide? Very
curious to see how this one performs
when it fully releases. But as far as a
beta weekend, I mean, other than the
first session which got cancelled, I
would say it went off without a hitch
and it was a ton of fun. I know I've
said this so many times and I'm not
going to start taking victory laps now.
I've been doing it for years, but it's
so cool to see the Switch 2 get all of
this love, all of this attention, all of
these games. And Nintendo is not done
yet. All of this is happening, but we're
also getting a brand new Fire Emblem
game next month. There's a Switch Sports
2 coming out pretty soon. Zelda Ocarina
a time remake is slaughtered for the end
of the year and I know we're getting a
direct in September. I can feel it in me
bones. We always get one and it just
feels like there's been this calm before
a Nintendo storm which is also what I
called the episode of my last podcast.
If you don't know I do a podcast every
week and it's a ton of fun. And we
talked about how it does feel like we're
right on the cusp of some really big
announcements and cool things happening.
And I say that as all of these cool
things are happening. 2026 has been a
banger year in my opinion, both for
third party and first party and indies
and everything in between on Nintendo.
And I got to tell you, it also kind of
feels like it's going to look meek in
comparison to 2027. I just feel like
some really huge things are on the
horizon. whether it's the brand new
Mario game or word of a new Smash
Brothers, whatever might be happening
with a new Animal Crossing. And then of
course, what are we getting for the next
Zelda? I think all of those questions
are going to be answered in 2027, but
that's not right now. Right now, we're
playing Call of Duty and Dusk Bloods.
So, my only question for you is which
kind of beta are you? And my only
question for Nintendo is, can you please
not remove this video? I I worked pretty
hard on it and I like your game.
So,
