Nike Air Max 90 Victor Solomon Trophies

Today we're taking a look at the Victor Solomon Nike Air Max 90s. And we're not just unboxing the black colorway, we're going to be comparing them against the white colorway as well. So as you can see from the box, it has a glossy finish to it and it's actually covered in a paisley print throughout the entirety of the shroud. You also have Victor Solomon's logo with the gold swoosh in the center of the lid and the same hit on the back corner of the sides and your Nike Air branding on the back end. Now sliding open this drawer, you're going to notice that you have both shoes that come individually wrapped in paper and also in their own dust bags. So you can see right here it has a very nice velvety feel to it with the Victor Solomon branding as well in gold and this is stitched in the center of the bag with the gold swoosh just like we saw on the lid. Then you got these silky pull strings and then also you have this lace lock in gold with the Victor Solomon branding as well and this is going to be similar to what you see on the shoes. And then pulling that open, you're going to notice that each shoe again is wrapped individually in paper and even with the details on the paper, you can see you have that all over paisley print throughout. And then unwrapping that, you'll notice there's a second set of white paper right here on the inside. And then peeling that back, you got the shoe. Oh yeah, got the shoe. So before we get into the details and breaking both of these shoes down, comparing them side by side, you know we got to go over the history first. If you've been paying attention to the sneaker world this year, you've probably heard the name Victor Solomon. But what makes his Nike collaboration so special is that it didn't start with sneakers, it actually started with art. Born in the Boston area and having a passion for basketball as a kid, Victor Solomon then moved to Los Angeles and built his reputation by transforming basketball into fine art. His signature style combines luxury materials like stained glass, crystal, bronze and gold with iconic basketball imagery. Instead of treating the game as just a sport, he turned it into something you would expect to see at a museum. His literally balling series quickly caught attention from collectors, athletes, and eventually the NBA itself. In 2022, Victor Solomon partnered with the NBA to redesign several of the league's trophies, including the Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP trophy. He created a new visual language that blended craftsmanship with the perspective of championship hardware. Fast forward to 2026, Nike gave Victor Solomon the opportunity to bring the same trophy-inspired design language to sneakers. His first trophy collaboration debuted at NBA All-Star Weekend out in Los Angeles, and I had a chance to go to the Shoe Palace drop and pick up all the shoes and meet Victor Solomon. There was only 1,000 pairs of the shoes released in of each model, and they had the Air Force 1, the Air Max 90, and the iconic Each shoe represented a different part of Los Angeles while incorporating premium materials, metallic gold accents, chain laces, and details inspired by championship trophy. Then came chapter two, WNBA All-Star Weekend. Victor Solomon and Nike introduced the all-black version of the Trophy's collection with a darker color palette, but still giving you the black hardware accents. With him continuing this story with Nike, it opens the door for his collaborations to become a true design franchise. Victor Solomon's journey has proved that great collaborations aren't built overnight. Years of creating meaningful art eventually led to designing NBA trophies, and from there, one of the most unique Nike collaborations we've seen in recent years. Starting with the bottom of the shoe, you're going to notice you have your classic all-black outsole here. This is going to be similar to your Air Max 90, nothing different there. And then going up to the mid-sole, same thing here, you're going to have that all over in black as well, with your black air unit. And then to the upper, this is where things get very premium, very quick. As you guys heard, both of these are extremely limited, so a not a lot of people get a chance to see these in hand or even in person. So, I want to try to make sure I give you guys the best detail shots and give you guys a good description as we go throughout the comparison. So, with the upper, you're going to essentially see two different materials. You have a premium tumbled leather, and then you have a fully embroidered material with a paisley print all throughout the front of the mudguard, the back end, and the same hit here on the heel. Now, again, when I talk about quality of materials and everything, I don't think they slacked at all when it comes to the black pair versus the white pair. They do look a little bit different because this white pair looks like it has a little bit more texture to that tumbledness, but the overall feel and everything, they both feel really soft. And honestly, I might say the black pair actually feels a little bit softer than the white pair does on the toe. Now, when you look at these two shoes side by side, even from the bottom of the foot all the way to the mid-sole, all the way to the upper, everything is essentially identical. This is just the black version, this is the white version. Now, I guess technically, you could say something that changed is the back tab, saying that the back tab is black and the swoosh border is black on the white pair. So, technically, this would have been white, and the swoosh would have been white around it if that would have been exact flip of the two. Now, not only is this a collaboration with Victor Solomon, but this is also a collaboration with Swarovski Crystal. And that's the same thing on both of the pairs of shoes. You'll see the tag that's hanging from there. You have your Swarovski Crystal information. And then it's going to have those Swarovski Crystals here on the side, on the swoosh, and the same thing on the inside of the foot as well. Now, looking at the center of the tongue, you're going to see that same material with that all-over paisley print embroidered on it. And these come standard with gold chain laces. Similar to what you guys saw earlier, how he designed the backboards with the chain nets, they took that same inspiration incorporated here on the shoe, which is honestly something that we don't really see pretty often, or really ever at all. Another cool hit is the lace lock right here that you see hanging from the side. These things are actually really heavy, and it's a basketball that you can actually push in and adjust right here. And then you have your Victor Solomon logo with the Nike swoosh as well. Now, on the top of the tongue, you'll see you have your premium black leather with the same thing on the patch, and then your gold stitch with your Nike branding there. Looking at the back end of the tongue, you'll see Air Max branding in the gold stitch, and that's going to be the same thing here on the white pair. So, again, a lot of similarities to these two shoes. Now, you guys know when it comes to the Air Max 90 in particular, it's a very comfortable shoe. It's a lot of people's favorites. It makes a lot of sense. And then something like this, yet so simple, but so clean and heavily detailed shoe. I think a lot of people that have got these in person, they have all been in love with them. I haven't heard anyone yet that dislikes the shoe once they get it in hand. Now, looking at the collar of these two shoes, you're going to see the same thing. You have your white leather here, your black leather there. But the big difference is actually going to be the sock liner. Now, this is the Trophy's pair, and this was actually more inspired by the city. And because these were inspired by the city and the different areas of the city, they actually have a picture of the Los Angeles map here on the insole. And then another similar hit that's actually on the insoles is going to be the Victor Solomon logo with the patch in the black circle. That's identical on both shoes. Now, you guys see my thoughts and impressions and details of the shoe, but the question is, how do you guys feel about these? Again, very limited, pretty expensive, and the resale's pretty high as well. But what's your thoughts? Do you like them? Do you not? Is it fire? Is it trash? With this scenario, we had to do both. So, let's see what the people say. When it comes to the white pair, 69% of the people chose fire and 31% of the people chose trash. How do you feel about that? Now, when it comes to the black pair, 67% of the people chose fire and 33% of the people chose trash. Again, very interesting poll results. Now, this is the part that always makes me wonder how people truly feel because I put those poll results up there and then I put them side by side and things look a little bit different. With these two next to each other, we had an exact 50/50 split. Everybody couldn't decide once they saw them next to each other and sometimes that happens. You're looking at a shoe individually and you're like, "This is cool. I'm not sure how I feel about it." or "I love it." and then you put it next to something else and you're like, "Damn, I love those two. Those are great." and then you're like, "Ah, I don't know." So, I see why people were 50/50 on the fence and honestly with this one, it makes sense. go wrong with either shoe. So, that's a look at the Victor Solomon Air Max 90s.
