Video summary
On October 2nd, the Mountain Arts Center will host the "Honor Our Heroes" event, a special night of music and community gathering dedicated to raising funds for veterans. The evening is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m., with an entry fee of $25 per person. This initiative aims to bring the local community together to support those who have served, showcasing the deep care the Commonwealth holds for its veterans through a collaborative effort involving various local groups and sponsors.
Attendees can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with entertainment and activities designed to engage everyone from the moment they arrive. The event will feature opening ceremonies at 5:45 p.m., followed by a variety of attractions including vendor tables, silent auctions, and raffles where prizes such as handmade quilts are being raffled off. Families and children will be entertained by the Shriners clowns greeting guests at the entrance and face painters from Branch Church offering patriotic designs, while the Floyd County Shriners will be available to sell food throughout the night.
The success of this event relies heavily on the support of numerous sponsors, co-sponsors, and entertainers who have made the gathering possible. A significant highlight of the evening will be the unveiling of the Banner of Honor, which currently lists 50 names of individuals who have been nominated by the community. These banners will be displayed prominently during the event, celebrating the contributions of these honored figures. Organizers emphasize that without the financial and logistical support of these partners, such a meaningful cause could not come to fruition.
Connor Kick reports for Mountain Top News on this upcoming occasion, urging residents to mark their calendars and invite friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to attend. Even if individuals cannot make it to the event in person, they are encouraged to share the information widely to help spread the word about this good cause. The collective effort to organize this night of music and support demonstrates a strong commitment to honoring veterans and ensuring they receive the financial assistance they need.
