Video summary

The video captures intense pre-season highlights from a match between Newcastle United and Everton at Murrayfield, showcasing several key moments that defined the early stages of the game. The action begins with an opportunity for Patterson to advance into the penalty area before George makes a direct run, but he is unable to get past his marker. This sequence quickly shifts as Newcastle launches a counter-attack; Barry flicks the ball away and breaks through until Lewis Hall intercepts him near the box. Armstrong then secures possession and delivers a fine strike that finds the back of the net, marking a significant moment for Everton after he had played exceptionally well in the first 26 minutes to earn this opening goal. Following the initial breakthrough, Everton continues to dominate with fluid attacking play, as Barry puts his team further ahead through sustained effort over nearly half an hour. The visitors create another promising chance involving Harrison Armstrong and a cross from Barille Manai that is ultimately denied by Bornic's save, highlighting the quality of their buildup despite missing out on what could have been a second goal. Momentum remains with Everton as they earn a penalty when Jby Hall attempts to turn inside the box but is clipped by an opponent; stepping up from 12 yards in the 35th minute, he calmly slots the ball past the keeper into the top corner of the net, extending their lead and demonstrating clinical finishing under pressure. Newcastle United fights back with a clever effort involving Ju Keane flipping inside for Betto, who plays it off to Hackne by his chest before Tyrick George finds space in the penalty area. Micheleno positions himself ahead of George as he cuts inside to deliver a precise finish that slots into the goal, praised as absolutely superb due to its precision and buildup play. This sequence underscores Newcastle's resilience and tactical awareness even while trailing, yet their efforts are ultimately overshadowed by Everton's consistent threat in front of goal throughout these early minutes of competition. The match concludes with a dramatic turn involving an own goal that seals the outcome for Everton after Bobby Barn inadvertently directs the ball into his own net during chaotic play near the end. The commentary emphasizes how well both teams performed, particularly noting Armstrong and Barry's outstanding contributions to Everton's success in securing three goals within roughly 35 minutes of action. Overall, the highlights reflect a competitive pre-season encounter where Everton capitalized on their opportunities while Newcastle showed flashes of brilliance before falling short against a formidable opponent at Murrayfield.

TK George for Armstrong. Armstrong. Bit of room on the right for Patterson maybe to advance into Barry into the penalty area. Direct George there too. Jby Hall. He couldn't get it past and all of a sudden Newcastle counterattacked. Now Barry he's flicked it away and he's through. Lewis Hall comes across to halt his charge to the penalty area. The ball is picked up by ARMSTRONG WHO FINDS BODY WHO FINDS THE BACK OF the nets. Well, he's played awfully well for 26 minutes of this game and he's rewarded with the opening goal here at Murrayfield and it's a fine strike too. Thiago Barry puts Everton in front. I tell you what, he's he has done awfully well this 27 minutes and I'm delighted that he's got the goal as well. He did a bit more up front. That's good football from Everton. It's freed Harrison Armstrong. Armstrong. Oh, checks back. Barry across Barille Manai. And that would have been a wonderful Everton goal. Bornic has made the save. It was neat buildup play from Everton to say the least. And it deserved a goal. Might still get one here with Micheleno finding Jby Hall. Jby Hall has got a penalty for Everton as he tried to turn inside the box. He was clipped and the referee had no hesitation. Well, I managed from 12 yds. 35 minutes into this game. No problem. Sends the keeper the wrong way and slots it calmly. Four in the Newcastle wall. It's Jbury Hall who goes for goal and the keeper has to scramble across to get something on it to touch it behind for the corner. Clever effort, weren't it from Ju Keane flipped inside for Betto played off to Hackne by the chest of Betto. Nice. Tyrick George. Micheleno's ahead of him. George goes inside and slots one into the penalty. It's a great ball as well. Picked up beautifully by Harrison Armstrong. Armstrong did well there. George, brilliant goal. Absolutely superb. The football, the buildup, the finish. Absolutely precise from Tyreek George. But again with me a youngster pushed here into the path of Oh, an own goal in the end. Is it only Bobby Barn put it in? Yeah, he has. >> [screaming]
