New Indie Sewing Patterns Releases | May 2026 Pattern Roundup

Hi you guys. Welcome back to Inside the Hymn. It is time for another indie pattern new release roundup. I have scoured the internet and gathered all of the new indie patterns that were released last month. Um that's May 2026 and there's definitely some trends that are emerging. We are going to see lots of pants, um, a skirt or two, some athleisure, a couple of dresses, definitely leaning into our summer wardrobes. Today, we're going to take a look at every single one of the new releases that I could find. We are going to talk about what stands out, and I'll even share some of my first impressions as we go through them. As we go, please be sure to be very active in the comments section. All right, so we are going to kick things off with so liberated. Also, now that I am filming myself while I do these recordings are going to see a lot of biscuits. So, welcome Biscuit to the Okay, the um new so liberated pattern is called the mundrome mud drone pants pattern. They are a barrellegged pant with curved seams providing dramatic yet soft shaping and generous ease. These pants are made for daily wear. Perfect with a tea or tank or even a slow shirt. That must be one of your stuff and don't be surprised if someone stops and asks you where you got your fabish pants. Okay, so here we go. They are definitely very cool. Um, it looks like we got a whole bunch of different panels going here, too. And then there's one here. And then lots of details going down the side. There they are. If you don't do color blocking, that looks very kind of everyday wearable and not too like artsy. I feel like the other ones I kind of feel like are a little bit artsy, right? Um, but the the denim on well that last one and this one, the denim must be heavier weight, a little bit more stiff, less drape, so they are giving more of that barrel shape, which is interesting. The top stitching on these, can we just talk about that for a second? Um, hello. Beautiful. I was also kind of like, huh, about this, but you know what? I'm okay with it. And then we have this little thing happening. So many interesting details really highlighted by the contrasting top stitching. Those look I mean I'm sure that they're comfortable, right? Did it say if it had elastic in the waist or is it drawstring? Sure. It has elastic too. I don't know, guys. I'm kind of here for these. They're funky. They are definitely funky. But she's right whenever she says be prepared for people to stop. All right, so here are the line drawings. Yeah, you can see lots of different situations happening. Um, really great scrapbuster. Even if you don't do contrast, if you just have like a bunch of little pieces of the same fabric, um, you can definitely um, use up some scraps on something like this. I wonder what they would look like in something like linen. I don't know. Really, really fun. Okay, anything else here? drawstring ties side panels enclosed. I don't see anything about elastic actually drawstring um opening. No buttons needed. So definitely beginner friendly. Yes. Um do they have like Oh, here we go. Fabric and notions elastic medium weight fabric draper hand. Yeah, we talked about that already. Uh, sand wash linen. Here we go. Cotton, like canvas, like twill. Essex cotton blend. That's something you can definitely just copy and paste. It's like a It's like a like a brand name of fabric, I guess. Um, and then notions interfacing. Okay, here we go. 2-in wide elastic. Okay, perfect. And they even tell you again, copy paste that into Google and buy exactly that. And then drawstring cord and an edge stitch foot. Oh yeah, that'll help with the top stitching. Okay, super cute and not a bad price for indie patterns either. I mean, at least while they're on sale. Okay, next up we have the Lady Day dress. This is the very first pattern release from Marcy Herel Ariel is um but you guys might recognize her. She's very very popular online. Um and they have come out with their own pattern design company. How cool is that? So the very first one is this oh sorry Lady Day dress named after Billy Holiday. It is maxi dress fit and flare silhouette fully lined bodice with a deep reinforced V-neck that hugs you in the right places. Inset front midriff which you right here and then blossoms into ease at the waist and hip with a pleated full skirt that provides room to breathe eat and sache freely. Okay, love that. The back skirt panels feature a railroad centered zipper. Okay, a little bit easier. Well, I don't know. Some people argue that maybe invisible zipper is just as complicated, but and then you can choose your straps that tie through the front and tie at the neck or adjustable crisscross straps complete with hardware, multiple hem links. Okay, amazing. All right, let's look at some of these photos. No. So, yes, she is right about this kind of triangle top, but there's no gaping on either one of them. I don't know what the difference in their cup sizes are, but um no gaping. It looks to be everything is like fully locked and loaded. Even though it is a deep V, um it doesn't feel like you're going to be slipping out of anything soon. And then this is a really good photo of the midrift piece here. Um, she did say something about pleat that I see those. I do like how they did some fussy cutting here to really highlight the midriff. Okay, here are the backs. Are the backs? What do we have? Is this just one piece with a little dart sit? This is the railroad zipper of many seams in the back. Here's the crisscross thoughts. There's a yellow version. Oh, there are subtle pleats. Only a few of them though. It's not like a fully pleated situation. Actually, that's really nice because it does provide the skimming effect for like to hide all your belly and everything, but it's not so much that it's like, you know how like sometimes the ple can just be a little too much and they stand away from the body too much and it's looking like a pregnancy dress, I guess, maternity dress. Yeah, you can see right here. There's one of the super super cute. Okay, get a line. So you get a view here of princess seam bodice midriff. Those are the pleats and then same situation the back as well. And then and do adjustable crisscross straps. Or this one has it looks like straps that go like Yes. that connect through here like a little loop-de-loop situation and it gets fed through there. Different neckline. Yeah, this one does. So it ties around your neck and also crisscrosses is let's of this front of the yellow the back of the yellow. Good view of that. Okay. I think I kind of like the double strap situation of the yellow. No front of yellow really here. Okay. here. I swear there was. So, oh, I see. So, the loop, it's one actual long ring that goes through the loop, ties around your neck, but also Okay, I get it. Do you guys get it? It's like It's like a crisscross. Sorry. It's like a crisscross in the back and then the crisscross comes up, loops through this, and then ties around your neck. Love that. Cute. Can't go wrong with just like a really great summer dress. Oh, all right. Now, we have the origami blouse. This is by Manoli Patterns. One piece, no shoulder seam. And you can see it's a collared shirt. Has a button placket down the front and then kind of your standard cuff. But what makes this one really interesting is there is no shoulder seam. This is all grown on and it's folded and pleated in a way that is why it's named origami. Get here. And you can see kind of how the sleeve is acting, how this is all one piece. It does look like there's an actual stand collar or a stand, not a stand collar. The um placket is real. See how that is like a real placket. Oh, and then underneath here are some gussets as well to help give you the movement that you are needing in a top like this. Okay, Biscuit, you're going to have to go find somewhere else. Go find somewhere else. Um, and then this is what the pattern piece looks like. So, it's one piece, right? And you cut out this interesting shape. It is symmetrical. So, I'm sure you just cut this on the fold, but how cool is that? Super fun. And then you are able to I guess this is the center front right here. This is the back. And these become the sleeves. So this becomes like this attaches to this maybe and becomes your side seam. And then the sleeves get folded in a funny way. But super cool, unique, and different, right? This one has since we're here sizes and inches in 20 bust 31 and 12 up to 47.2 in. And I like they have it in green. So that shows you what you need to use to base your size on. Yeah. Super cool. Here's the gusset. Wow. I mean, look at that construction. Am I right? That Hong Kong seam is literally stunning. It's a beautiful, interesting top. And yes, people will definitely be asking you, "Where in the world did you get that?" That's that's cool. I don't really wear button-up tops, especially collared tops, but if I did, that would be on my list for sure. Okay, this is named patterns. They actually have two patterns this month. This is the Arya mini wrap dress. Charmingly simple and timeless wrap dress. Mini length skirt. Mini I don't know about that. That's knee length. Um and t-shirt sleeves. What are t-shirt sleeves that are slightly flared? Like a bigger opening maybe. So um cute carefree look. Neckline is finished with a binding. this that extends into the strap ties and it also has side pockets. So, look at I do love how they paired this with the sock and the little sneaker to kind of show you how you can dress it down, but you can also imagine it with like a little heel, right? And you can dress it up for sure. Um, wrap dresses are a little bit challenging because of the bust opening. Here's the t-shirt sleeve, by the way. I'm not entirely sure what that means. I don't know. There is a dart, but there's also still some gaping. I guess that's kind of inevitable, especially as you move around. But look, there are actual belt carriers. That's a really nice detail to kind of help a little bit. Um, maybe you could like attach a little button underneath here to give that this piece some stability so it actually stays no matter what's happening with the tie. Cute. Okay, now we have the Udy gathered midi dress. Romantic midi dress features a gathered bus and a curved belt that ties into a bow at the back. Gathered bus curved belt. Okay. The dress has long sleeves with elastic cuffs, a V-neckline, and button plackets that extend all the way down to the hem. The skirt is gathered at the waist. Great. Let's see. Can we? So, it looks like I have to like look in. So, sorry if I'm scaring you on my video here. Um, okay. So, we have Let's see. Get some closer up. Yes. Okay. We have the gathered bust into this midrift piece, but this midrift piece is also a belt. Yes. Okay, great. So you can see how it's sewn in here, but it's loose on the bottom. So go back to this. This down here, not attached. It's only attached at the center front and along here. And then you wrap it around and it ties in the back like so. Also, let's point out that this is a button front. So this is construction heavy. You're doing a lot of work. Um, you've got gathers, you've got elastic, you've got pockets, a button placket. I'm sure this is some kind of facing set in sleeves like going to spend some time with this one. But I do believe she is quite cute and we were pay off I think. Um definitely one of those silhouettes that never goes out of style. Very classic. Love to see it. Okay, now we have the Mariposa wrap. This is from It Zoma pattern. It is flattering and adjustable. It wraps and ties exactly how you want it to with an elasticated back for extra comfort. Adjust to your body without overthinking the fit. Get that flirty skirt moment, but with the built-in shorts. Okay, so I think you do need to overthink the fit a little bit because they're are shorts. I mean, it does cover up the shorts. So, maybe that's where she's coming from with the overthinking like just get close enough on the shorts and the skirt hides the rest. Um, move, sit, and twirl without worrying about anything want to. Okay. All you need is some elastic and some optional bias tape. And yeah, so along coming soon. All right. Photos. So, we have here's this shirt that is tied. Does look like it has like a petal hem. Here's another version. This one looks like she's trying to go for like a different take on some suiting, which that's really fun. You have to go to work, but your work is like a little bit more free and loose with the dress code. Here is like a flatlay. Yeah, it's definitely got a curved hem here. And even these ties, it look like they are curved. The shorts. Oh, thank you. Um, here are the shorts. Well, I mean, this version of the photo is a little hard to see. or here. A little hard to see. I mean, you can tell they're shorts, but like how do they look? Oh, because one of the views is just the shorts. Here they are. Okay. Very, very simple. No waistband. So, there's some kind of facing here. The closure is the elastic in the back. So, there's not even a closure. So, really, you could spend a little bit of time on the fitting of these shorts. and get a good fit on those before you move on to the skirt part. But you can see here exactly how it's constructed. There's this almost like a bound opening, I think, which is a nice detail that your strap goes through and then you tie it on the the window box pane is really um and then okay, here's the back. So here's your elastic casing in the back. Very nice. That is a 1 and 1/2 in elastic. Cool. Yeah, I think it looks really fun. I almost imagine it Well, I guess she kind of went for it in this but didn't take pictures of it in herself. It is giving the feeling of like this is a sarong, like I'm on vacation. I'm wrapped this around my swimsuit, you know? Um, so I think the lighter, drapier fabrics would be better, but those shorts are a little close fitting. So, there has to be like a good balance between weight and drape on this. All right. Next up, we have the Wardrobe by Me Bubble Pants. Love a bubble pant. Luminous. Luminous pant sewing pattern with elasticated waist and gathered hem for a playful floaty silhouette. Easy pull on style for lightweight woven in small 3X. Simple fun pair of pants. Voluminous legs gathered at the hem. playful floaty silhouette. Waistline and hem are elasticated. Again, lightweight woven such as ball, double gauze, sears, sucker, cotton, like silk or other light floaty materials. The hips which are very loose fitting. There's a lot of ease here. Um, but the body measurement chart is 33 in to 53 1/2 in, but I'm sure there's 10 inches maybe of wearing ease there. Okay. F perfect first pant sewing pattern. That's all the stuff that you get. Okay, great. Let's Oh, right. Can Okay. Um, well, unfortunately, it looks like this is going to cover the bottoms, and that's like kind of one of the most fun details of this, but very thin elastic. Did it talk about how It just says elastic. It doesn't say what width or anything like that. Huh. Okay. Well, it does look very slim, very thin elastic. You can obviously change that. But there's the line drawing. Here is the back. Obviously, lots of room here. So, we are getting a bit of a wedgie situation. I'm not entirely sure. I guess you could remove you'd have to remove some from the back crotch curve in order to eliminate that, but I don't know how much she's been moving around or how far in it goes. [laughter] I can say that. Um, here's a white linen pair. Love that. They certainly are comfortable looking. I do think the length of them is really important. Do you see how these hit right at the ankle versus the first brown ones were a little bit like very baggy? I'm not sure I love this is leaning into like hobo a little bit where the other ones feel a little bit more elevated and chic. Um blue ones have gingham ones. I bet they are the kind of pattern that you just make a gazillion of after you make one. But this look with the like slouchy tank is also really cute and honestly can't be more comfortable. But this is giving sort of lounge. But you could also wear it out. I would wear it out. I would certainly wear this to Target. The close fitting tank top dress. I don't know so much about that. That might not be my style. But these other looks are really cute. Oh, here we go. Elastic for the waist. 3/4 in 3/4 inch elastic. Is that what that is? Okay. Elastic for the hem. Oh, okay. Yeah. I mean, 3/4 isn't the biggest, but it's not as small as I thought it was. I thought we were looking at like a quarter inch wide. Okay. Cute wardrobe by me. This is Itch to Stitch. She has two sewing patterns this month. This is the Marie Top sewing pattern. Um is the kind of t-shirt you'll reach for again and again. Designed with everyday versatility in mind combines the com comfort of a classic knit tea with subtle design details that make it stand out. Raglin sleeves offer a relaxed easy fit. Yes. While delicate gathers at the front and back adjust to the right touch of the front and back add just the right touch of interest. Read with multiple neckline and sleeve options. It's easy to customize. Okay, we have regular and full bust options which is normal for her and all her patterns. raglin sleeves with gathers at the front and back. So you can see the sleeve has the gather here. Two neckline options. We've got this little round split neck finished with binding. That's a very I will say challenging detail or we have a scoop neck. Then three sleeve length options. Short, medium short and long. Time for light to mid lightweight knit fabric. Okay, let's look photos. So, this Well, it doesn't zoom in that much. Maybe get a closeup. Um, but you can see the details of the raglin there. You know, ragllin t-shirt is the baseball tea, right? So, I wonder if this would give like a feminine like feminine take on a baseball tea. That could be really fun. Um, I want to see how this binding is done, though. Here we Okay, it is done in two pieces. That's helpful because getting one piece of binding to go across this I don't even know what angle curve that is would be really challenging. So if you're good at bias binding on a curve for the neckline, you've got this part and then you just have to figure out this one. She is an exceptional sewist. Like she's really really good at sewing. So hers looks perfect. I don't know how well the rest of us would fare at this. Um, but because of that, I guess she also offered the little just the round neck option, which is still equally as cute. But can you imagine um like gray body and black sleeves and you'd have like a really cute little cake on a baseball tea. There are linings. You can kind of or line drawings. You can kind of see it there, right? Can you imagine it? I think that would be adorable. little contrast and a great little scrap buster too for your knit fabrics. Our other pattern is the Zubiri trousers. Trousers. Okay. Uh fresh take on a wardrobe staple. Blending tailored elements with an modern silhouette designed to sit at the natural waist. Um create a long fluid line that feels relaxed yet put together while helping you stay cool. Thoughtful construction details give these a clean, refined look from every angle. Um, okay. What are those? Highrise, wide leg. Um, I don't know about the wide leg. I'm getting more of a stove pipe. Maybe a boot cut. Wide leg to me means it flares out a little bit. Right. Front flight closure, one front dart, and two back darts for shaping. I love that. And then unique side dart in place of side seam. What? Side dart in place of side seam. Okay, we'll have to look at those pictures. Front and back patch pockets. Ankle or four length. Um, designed for fluid bottom weight woven fabrics. Okay, so here are the patch pockets. Here's the fly front. We do have belt carriers and honestly kind of like a well, the belt carrier goes longer than the waistband. Cute. Okay, here are the details. So yeah, you've got your traditional waistband, belt carriers here, two back darts, patch pockets. Oh, here we go. That and then no side seam. That is so interesting. There it is. So you really have one, two, three, four, eight darts around the waistband of the body to give it that shape up top and then also only an inseam. So I don't know. That's pretty freaking cool. Definitely unique and different. It's one of those things though I'm not sure other people would notice. Like you're not going to be walking around and someone going, "Oh my god, you have a dart instead of a side seam." No one's going to do that. But for us who are like kind of nerdy about construction, that is a really good idea and something you don't see a lot. So I'm here for that. Okay. Next, we have the Closet Core Theres track pants. Now, this is their crew pattern. That means you pay a monthly fee or an annual fee or something and you get one pattern, one new pattern a month delivered to you automatically for free. This is the May pattern, theres trackpants. So we have a sophisticated take on a sporty classic designed for drapey woven effortlessly stylish with elevated details. Midrise midrise I mean they're pushing highrise. They are um widelegg silhouette, integrated top stitched waistband for all day comfort. Invisible seam pockets and keep the clean lines while the optional faux welt back pocket adds a tailor edge. V channels athletic vintage athletic style with applied ribbon trim. I'm pretty sure that's just top stitched on. And then VB B features contrasting side panels which I think would be sewn in like as part of the like there's a whole seam here and a whole seam here attaching them not just top stitch not placed applique style and hem splits finished with invisible zippers for added movement. Cute sign story. All right, let's look at how don't zoom in at all for the giries. Look cute. I really like the idea of an elevated track pant. Um, this one with the florals is really cute. It's kind of reminding me um Adidas and Liberty just came out with a collab or maybe not just but recently came out with a collab and they have some Liberty x Adidas track pants. So imagine Liberty fabric with the Adidas stripes down the side. That's what it's giving. Very much like this actually. Very very much like this. So, not saying that you need to buy the Liberty fabric, but this is giving kind of that vibe. That's really cool. And this is one of those things people are going to be like, "Oh, I love your pants. Thanks. I made them." Here is the other view with the um ribbon down the side. Yep. You get a really good view of that right here. And the elastic waist all around the fit on the back looks really good. We're not getting a diaper butt here, that's for. And yeah, I am still getting I don't know if I'm getting mid-rise. Oh, here's the welt pocket. the faux welt pocket cuz I feel like this is her natural waist and the top of the waistband is sitting there. I don't know, maybe it's like the higher side of midrise. Want to get really picky about it, right? Um, okay. Cute. It's giving like, you know, university vibes. The back looks really good. Like from the back, you would think she's just wearing trousers to go to work. I love that. So although welt pockets, even faux welt pockets are annoying to sew, that is what gives it that detail for and also kind of helps steer it away from diapers, too. That looks great. And then here's our little zipper detail. Okay, love that. Um, also Closet Core has their own fabrics. So in here somewhere maybe. Yes, you can shop perfect match fabrics and you can go here and these are all you can buy a kit if you want or you can buy yardage of the fabric and do your own thing. We're all in here. Yeah, here designer dead stock. Okay, but yeah, they are kind of signing off and approving all of these fabrics so you don't have to worry about is this going to have the right drape? Is this going to look good to even make an exact replica like an exact version of the one they made and get this exact look? So, if you're new to shopping online, this is the easiest way to do it. Um, and ensure that you're going to get a fabric that works well for this pattern. So, a lot of indie pattern companies are starting to do that and I think it's great. Okay, this is made for mermaids. Uh, Made for Mermaids comes out with new patterns and then they always assign them to some kind of collection. So, we have the barbell collection is like their athleisure line. So, they came out with a new pattern for that. This is the Ali open back top. Um, knit top with fun open back design. Long ties thread through the back casing to create this loop diloo circular opening. The back casing is finished with a casing and the open back is designed a perfect layer of your favorite strappy sport for bras. Then the ties cross over the front kind of like a ballet like tutu kind of um and then tie in the back. Three neckline options. High neck, scoop neck, and then low scoop and then sleeveless, short sleeve and long sleeve. Great. I'll use a perfect athletic or everyday wardrobe. Okay. Awesome. Photos. Obviously, there a lot of them from the back. Yes. So, you can see here how that works. It's very close fitting, right? There's lots of negative ease. So, that I'm sure that the fabric requirements include some kind of stretch percentage that is 50% or more. Um, but it's also a little bit forgiving, right? because it depends on how open the open back is. If it were a little bit loose through here, you could definitely pull that a little bit tighter. And here are some testers who made their versions. Cute. I love the idea of it with a matching skirt and sports bra cuz from here it looks like a little outfit, right? But from the back it's like, oh no, it's different. I could also see it like if you have like a sleeveless dress or something and you wanted to give more coverage, maybe it's colder out or something like that, you could flip it over a one piece like this might be a one piece dress and you put that over top of it to give yourself versions. This a dress maybe not. Well, I don't know. two holes here. So, I'm not Yeah, lots and lots and lots of photos. Oh, here we go. This is a dress. Okay. Isn't that cute? And then you put your little long sleeve over top. I kind of really love that idea just to like throw on but have a little bit of a detail on the back. And then obviously there are people who are going to wear it and sports bra just there's no coverage up front. Um so, you know, keep that in mind. But that's cute. And then made for mermaids literal sister in real life is patterns for pirates. Isn't that cute? Made for mermaids. Patterns for pirates and their actual sisters in real life. Um she came out with the picnic dress. Um and this is the perfect sundress. Fitted tank bodice curves down the dress. Lovely gathered skirt. You have a dress you can make again and again. So looks like princess seams into a gathered waist skirt. Pretty simple. um dressed up or dressed down. Choose from knee length or midi. Sew up a classic higher neckline that will take anywhere or scoop neckline that shows off a little bit more skin. The back center section is created with casing and normal elastic. So, it's going to look like sharing, but it's not. But if you love sharing and would prefer that, you can share the back section instead. Um several YouTube videos, blah blah blah. Okay, great. Take a look. So, here you can see the princess seam. It is very close fitting for a woven dress. Do have the elastic in the back to help cinch that in a little bit. But yeah, a really great little summer dress. The elast the not elastic the gathers are giving. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So, it does have that. We're seeing this a lot right now. This little I don't know what it calls back to like what design style it calls back to, but the curved kind of hip enhancing gathers. It's not super hip enhancing, but you are going to get a lot of volume on the sides and the front panel is going to be nice and flat. So, that's what makes super flattering. Um, again, kind of like with the pleats on Marcy's dress where it's not adding so much volume to the front of your body. It's adding it more to the sides, which is giving that hourglass shape. Anyways, um, but yeah, it's a really cute dress pattern and it cannot be super hard to sew. I wonder how all of this is finished because Adventure Pirates is not known for wins. Is that right? One of them. Some of them in my mind are all kind of in the same world. I feel like this is one of them. But they both made for mermaids and patterns for pirates also do a mini me. So you can do a women's version and a kids version of all their patterns. So that's obviously adorable. Um, okay. So now we have Cashmeir came out with the Rally shorts. Now this is their club pattern. So just like Closet Core, you pay a monthly or an annual fee and you get a new pattern every month. What's interesting about this is the two ladies who run that must be like syncing up somehow because they both came out with kind of an elevated athletic short for their club. So like this is the rally short and then remember this was the closet core one. Isn't that so interesting? I mean, I'm sure they're not like talking, but they were both in the same wavelength for May and getting a elevated athletic short out in the world. Um, these are tracksuit shorts with 3 and 5 in inseam options. Suitable for woven or knits, elasticated waists with drawstring, hidden side seam pockets, and decorative bias trim. Okay. So, go. So, you have elastic in here and the drawstring. Um, look at these drawstrings. Where do you get those little ddads? Those are cute. I've only ever been able to find aglets like on um aglets, right? On um like I'll buy sho strings and they already have the metal on the end, but I've never seen any like this. That's give us the tea on that cashmere. Then you can see the IS binding that's applied here. These are super simple. They look a little not simple, but if you've sewn a short, you can sew these. You'll get a lot of practice on the bias binding. That's going to be the hardest part to make look nice. But you can do it. I believe in you. Back looks great. There's the hidden side seam pocket. That is hidden. That is hidden. That's cute. That's a cute little detail to stick in there. Um, even if it doesn't have contrast, it still has the bias binding. So, keep that in mind. There's no way to avoid that with pattern. This looks like a sweatshirt fleece or something. Not my favorite weight and drape on this. I don't know. It's I don't know. I don't like that. So maybe cuz it's the longer length and I'm just not a longer length girly like yeah that's much cuter to me. I I don't know why I like showing some leg. What can I say? Those are adorable. Right. Super cute. Now do you need both? I don't know. I don't know. Okay. This is Ellie and Mac. They came out with two patterns this month, but one of them is just a bag. Um this is the Crescent Moon sewing pattern. Um, and we'll go through because there's not much to say about this. Um, obviously you have like the moon shape and then you have these different options on how you can color block or pattern it that I know they had a line drawing. Oh, and there's also three sizes on this one of that. Hello Okay, here we go. So, you can see three sizes. And of course, the millennial in me is like the largest one is the best one. [laughter] I just love how like hoboy it is. I don't know. I think it's really um but the other ones are cute, too. And then there was a thing in here about different designs, about the sizing. Oh, little video. Yeah. I don't know. I swear that they had a picture in there that was like where you could do the bag like this. You could do it vertical stripe and then I think there was a third option, but that's their bag. And they also came out with the Paige Palazzo and widelegg pant. Um, this one is here are our line drawings, but relax, flattering, endlessly versatile. Um, effortless style to your handmade wardrobe. Choose between flowing palazzo silhouette, which I'ming is this wider leg for maximum movement or a classic widele fit for an everyday look. Multiple waistband pocket and inseam options. Oh, what are the You have a narrow waistband and a tall waistband. Row and um Oh, two pocket depth option. That's unique. Eight length options. All right. And the two legs, wide or palazzo, designed for woven fabric. And you have um I don't know if this is tutorial or not or if it's just like featuring them like you know fighting them but at some of theers it's really just here's the wider waistband. It's another elastic waist widelegg drapey pant. This one just happens to have sharing at the top, which ironically I don't I'm That's what I'm wearing today. I got these at Goodwill. That is so interesting. I do pull these a lot and wear them a ton. Um, and this is like a pretty thick like pretty structured chino fabric. So, it doesn't have to be. I guess you probably just do fewer. Like my shirt lines are like half an inch apart, whereas I bet some of these are much closer. But I got to say, it's really comfortable. It's actually more comfortable than an elastic waist pant because the band is so much wider. It really does feel like it's you in everywhere. I love that. Some of these testers, the fit is better on some than others, which to be expected. I mean, you don't really know what you're getting with tester, like tester skills. Like, you don't know how good they are at actual sewing. Did they do anything to fit? Are they allowed to do anything to fit or do you have to sew it right out of the envelope? I'm not sure how all of that works, but um obviously whenever you get yours, you'll be doing um the appropriate fitting. I think it's mostly about length. Like some of this just feels short. Like look how lowrise hers are, but then we're getting this weird shape here. I also noticed that on hers. Like the shape, maybe because it's stripes, but the shape is looking a little bit strange. Um, all right. So, Seamwork has two patterns every single month, just like closet core and cashmere. Um, you join Seamwork, it's a monthly subscription and you get two patterns every month and one of them has like a member bonus. You can buy them without belonging to the membership but the membership gets you extra. Okay, so we have the LOL gathered midi skirt. It is thin romantic easy to wear skirt designed to marry timeless effort with effortless wearability. Timeless style. Sorry. With effortless wearabilities, the natural waist with a shape, excuse me, shaped yolk that dips into a gentle V. This is exactly what I was telling you guys about that other dress. These shaped yolks with the gathers that kind of go up on the hip. That is what is happening a lot. We're seeing it lots and lots of places. I've seen it at like in stores and ready to wear and obviously now it's making it into patterns. um get any versions? Okay. So, pretty straightforward here then. Um it is midi length I get. No. Yeah, midi length. I guess we're going to hit that. It's straight across in the back. So, that curve doesn't go back down again. It just goes up up like that. >> [laughter] >> Okay, there are the two versions next to each other, the misses and the women's. Yeah, it is still even though it has all these gathers, it's still giving a pretty slim profile, right? It's not flaring out a ton, which is nice. I like that. Flowy, but not like the bottom hem isn't as big as you would think it would be for all of these gathers. Right. There is. Okay. Cute. And then their other pattern this month is this t-shirt. Morgan fitted crew neck t-shirt. Um, best I can say about this one is maybe it was modeled after like skims and all that's happening in that world. Maybe the early 2000s trend is kind of leaning into that, too. Because if you remember, that's what we were wearing back then. Like the stretchiest, most skin tight, showing every single thing about you [laughter] on a t-shirt. Um, it says, "Morgan is a fitted crew neck tea designed to be a reliable staple in your wardrobe. Close fitting, layers, and works well on its own. through neckline designed to hit just below the hip. Um, simple detail like single fold hems give it a neat finish. Okay, this is the shirt bonus which is going to be a V-neck. So, if you are a member, you get this bonus variation like hack type thing. All right, looking at the photos here, it definitely does seem side to side like the misses is a little bit more close fitting than the women's is. H not entirely sure how that would come be, but that's what I'm seeing in her pictures. The the bottom looks looser fitting. Maybe it's the fabric. Hard to say because I don't know what fabric is. But yeah, I mean it is going to be close fitting throughout. The one thing that really gets me about these types of t-shirts are the pulling and there's going to be pulling here. It's inevitable. Like it can't be avoided. I don't love the way that that looks. Um like see this. I don't know. It's just not my fave. Um so yeah, this isn't really it's not an exciting pattern. certainly doesn't have any like bells and whistles associated with it. It just seems like maybe they were trying to grow their staples in the staples section of their website and this certainly fills that need. But for me, there are other t-shirt patterns that I like more. Okay, now we have green style bolair legging pattern. If you are looking for really welldesigned athleisure patterns, I love green style. The Valair legging has a slight bubble hem which calls back to the bubble pants that we saw earlier except this one is a yoga pant. So it is close fitting and it uses knit fabric but it does have that bubble detail to it. You do get three waistbands. You get a faux fold over waistband with optional drawstring which to me that kind of g makes it four. So faux fold over waistband is faux fold over waistband with drawstring is yoga waistband for active support is three or a classic fold over waistband for everyday wear would be the fourth one. Um petite and tall so they already have the length figured out for you and four-way stretch fabrics like green style signature fabric. So this is another place that has um they sell their own fabric so you can buy exactly what you need. um for this. So along is coming soon. Here are our line drawings. It is a bubble hem, but it almost is more like pleated or those darts. Rather than there being elastic at the bottom like the other one, this is actually shaped or you have your plane. And then here are the four waistbands that I was that Oh, there's also a pocket option too. Yes. Oh, so over waist faux fold over with the drawstring. I can't see. Um, you can get a Let's zoom in. Oh, yes. Okay. It does look like darts that are top stitch. Yeah, that's obvious. But I'm saying biscuit. There's the pocket. Right. So, I don't know that I would necessarily call it a bubble hem. It's getting more of like a barrel. Like, you know how the barrel jeans are made? They have those darts at the bottom, too. And that's what gives those their shape. More of a barrel barrel hem. Or hers out and about in the street, not at leisure. Um, but like dressed them up. Oh, here we go. Yeah, starts there and it's finished with bias binding. I think maybe that's turned under and hemmed like normal. I don't know. But it is a fun take on your traditional yoga pant. That's for sure. I imagine if you showed up to actual yoga or workout class with these, people would be like, "Oh my gosh, love your pants. Those are so cool." All right. And then our last pattern designer, but not our last pattern, is June Pattern Studio. She has an Etsy shop. She has three new patterns this month. And do not discount Etsy pattern designers. I know they're not all great, but there are some on here that do a really good job, and I feel like June is one of them. So, she has this square neck top. See here? It's just a cropped tank knit fabric. Um, and then this is done with it's kind of like a fold over elastic technique but with fabric instead of actual fold over elastic. You could do it with fold over elastic. It would just look you know how that stuff's kind of like shiny whereas this is like actual fabric. So you can see today I'm wearing a square neck. I have to um This is just really I don't know. It's very flattering. I really really like the way that this looks. The square neck, I it looks really flattering. Um, but this contrast piping is really pretty. There's one with a rib knit and then a contrast as well. Again, this has got to be one of those patterns that you make one time and then you make a million times after that. um sizes extra extra small to 5XL and you get your letter and AO sizes on her patterns. This is the rooouched tank top. So, you can see it is a slightly less fitted than the last one, but it has this really cool like sunburst vibe going on here. I'm not entirely sure that this has to be sewn in a knit. These are all knits. You could probably size up here and make it out of a woven. I've seen lots of woven tops this, but it's getting like pepleum a little bit without it being so flary. I really like the gathered detail. That's a fun It's a fun little twist. I think I've seen a lot of these. Remember whenever people were doing um shoulder pads in t-shirts? Why do I remember it looking like that and having that little detail there? Not that we want to have to do the shoulder pads, but it would give it would give that. Um, but that's a fun detail. And I'm pretty sure the back is just flat. I don't know that we get any photos of the back, but yeah, you there. And then an easy little band on the top, too. So, not even super hard to sew. And then finally, she has this, what does she call a wave front? Wave front vest. It's literally a vest pattern. Has a bus dart. has this wave design. So cute. Um, this is like a matchy matchy set. I'm obsessed. Would also be cute if you made it into like a button front skirt and the skirt had the wave so the wave kept going down. That would be really cute. They had one. Oh, you can see too fully lined, right? It's Etsy, but it's fully lined. Okay, I'm telling you, there are some good pattern designers out here on Etsy. Um, oh, this one with the contrast piping. That looks so good. I'm assuming that's flat piping and not bias by. But, um, another one in here that had that. Let's I mean, doesn't that look like a million bucks? And those are all the new indie patterns that I could find this month. If I had to pick out a few standouts, obviously I'm going to choose the origami shirt just because it is so unique. But I was really happy to see indie designers leaning into some basics with a twist, which you guys know I absolutely love. It seems like they are embracing comfort while still giving us some really unique details that help our handmade garments stand out from what you might see in retail.
