Video summary
The video begins with an announcement for a Nintendo Switch 2 giveaway, requiring only a channel subscription to enter, with the winner to be drawn on October 1st. Following this, the host highlights the upcoming release of *Fire Emblem: Fortune Weave*, noting its estimated file size of 29.5 GB, which is significantly larger than previous entries in the series like *Three Houses* or *Engage*. Simultaneously, Nintendo has launched a customer appreciation sale featuring discounts on various hardware and merchandise. Notable deals include a 30% reduction on the Nintendo Alarm Clock, the Switch 2 Camera, and the Virtual Boy, alongside significant price drops for controllers and amiibo figures, some of which have fallen below $15. While some game prices align with past sales, the inclusion of physical goods and accessories makes this event particularly comprehensive.
A major segment of the discussion focuses on technical analysis of the *Ocarina of Time* remake provided by Digital Foundry, which clarifies that the game does not utilize Unreal Engine 5 or DLSS technology. Instead, the title targets a resolution of 1080p at 60 frames per second in both docked and handheld modes, with menus rendered at a higher 1440p resolution when docked. The analysis suggests the developers are using a combination of real-time and baked lighting techniques rather than relying on modern engine standards. Although the trailer is uploaded in 4K, the actual gameplay output remains within these specifications. The host expresses satisfaction with this approach, emphasizing that maintaining a smooth 60 fps frame rate is more critical for performance than pushing for higher resolutions, especially given how visually impressive the remake already appears despite not using next-generation engines.
Beyond technical specs, the video explores new marketing materials and fresh footage released by Nintendo, including a display in Shibuya and seven seconds of gameplay showing Link waking up at the start of his adventure. Fans have also spotted intriguing details in the background, such as purple energy emanating from gates which may hint at enemy mechanics or boss-related events, and flowers resembling those from *Breath of the Wild*. Perhaps the most significant revelation comes from an examination of the game's tapestry feature, which displays seven slots below the six sage medallions. Since these extra slots cannot logically correspond to optional side quests like the Ice Cavern or obtaining Epona, theories suggest they may represent new story events or previously unseen areas. This is further supported by visual evidence showing expanded terrain and additional houses in the area between Castle Town and Hyrule Castle, confirming that the remake includes new content rather than being a strict one-to-one recreation of the original.

All right, everyone. We're giving away a
Nintendo Switch 2. You can enter through
the link in the pin comment or the
description. The only requirement to
enter is to be subscribed to the
channel. We will be drawing the winner
on October 1st and then obviously
getting our next giveaway going after
that. We haven't decided yet what it's
going to be. I've been looking at some
of that Acine of Time stuff out there or
40th anniversary merchandise, but uh you
know, hard to get your hands on that
stuff right now. All right, guys. We
have some stuff to get into today. And
look, a lot of this we're going to be
talking about Ocarina Time, some
observations, some new footage, and
more. Uh, but beyond all of that, we
want to make sure we get to the customer
appreciation sale, which started today.
Uh, and yes, we'll also have a story
here on Fire Emblem Fortune Weaves.
Well, estimated file size. Oh, also just
a note, Digital Foundry chimed in on
Ocarine Time as well. So, we have a huge
Ocarina Time section. You guys can skip
to that because that's what the
headlines going to be based on or you
can go ahead and get into some of this
other news we're dealing with today.
Starting with Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave
estimated file size revealed. So, uh,
Nintendo's Fire Emblem series is back
with the arrival of Fire Emblem Fortunes
Weave coming this week. Uh, if you're
planning on picking up the game
digitally, you'll need to make sure
you've got enough space on your system
to install it. According to Nintendo's
official eShop listing, the estimated
file size for this new entry,
transporting players to the Dagden
Empire will require 29.5 GB of space.
Please keep in mind, first party titles
also receive day one and post-launch
updates, which can change the file size.
In comparison, Fire Emblem 3 Houses was
11.5 GB and Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem
Engage is 16.5
gigabytes. Again, the stuff comes out
here this upcoming Thursday. I hope you
guys are looking forward to Fire Emblem
Fortunes. I'm curious how it reviews.
Fire Emblem games tend to review very
well as the quality stays extremely
consistent. Today, Nintendo started
their customer appreciation sale here in
the United States. And look guys, we
know we're getting this sale due to
apparently the tariff refunds.
Whatever you think about that, we at
least should take a look at the sale to
see if there's any good deals for you
guys. They got everything loaded up on
their back end. So, here we are on the
sales and deals section. You see we have
the customer appreciation sale selected.
And look, it's straight up a 30% off
sale. So, we're seeing the Nintendo
sound alarm clock 30% off to $76.99.
We're seeing the Nintendo Switch 2
camera from $54.99 down to $37.99. are
seeing Virtual Boy, the actual like, you
know, plastic version down to $69.99
when it was $100, although it is now
sold out at that price. Virtual Boy
cardboard model, we see that 30% off
down to $1,7.49. We're seeing the Super
Nintendo Entertainment System, the SNES
controller, that was actually a really
good deal. 30% off down to $24.49. So
good it sold out. Same with the Switch
Pro Controller down from $80 to $55.99.
Uh, we have obviously Mario Kart 8
Deluxe booster pack. We're seeing some
t-shirts as well going on sale here and
some jackets and other merch. So, good
to see that physical items, not just
video games are on sale. They did say
merch and stuff would be on sale, but we
didn't really know what ones. We're
seeing some Joy-Con on sale here. More
game sales, more game sales, amiibo
sales, which are really nice to see,
especially since amiibo have gone up in
price. Uh, some amiibo you're actually
going to see are going to be quite
cheap. uh some of them down below $15,
which is really nice to see. We're
seeing some sold out amiibo here for the
uh you know, Kirby Air Riders amiibo. As
we go down here, we're going to see
more. There's the Pauline one. And now
we get into some of the older amiibo,
and we're seeing those down to $13.99,
which is it's just nice to see them
actually go under $15. We don't see that
very often. Uh but look, a lot of the
sales on these games are like sales
they've done before. Like I've seen
Skyward Sword HD sold by Nintendo on the
eShop for $41.99 in the past. So like
some of these deals don't really feel
like they're really beyond what Nintendo
normally does. But I guess having all
the deals happen at once and including
the physical merchandise that is indeed
something they usually don't do. We see
more amiibo here. Some of them even sold
out. Uh we see a mask baseball hat.
Actually, it's kind of interesting. Uh
that one is $13.99. That might be
something I might consider someday.
[laughter] As we uh go down here though,
we're seeing look even, you know, even
seeing the Mario and Luma. This is a
really huge amiibo. Seeing that down to
2449, I think definitely worth it at
that price point. Same with the Rosalina
one. Those are really big amiibo. I
don't think you guys grasp how much
larger they are than standard amiibo. Uh
but yeah, we're seeing obviously a bunch
of the other amiibo sold out here.
Scrolling down, we're seeing a arcade
money box uh going on sale with 30% off.
And again, lots of game sales as they
promised. And look, we, you know, people
always act like Nintendo doesn't have
game sales, but here they are with a
huge sale. And yes, this is literally
everything that's part of this sale.
I've loaded it all up so you guys can
see it all as we scroll on by all the
way down to even the Nintendo Switch
adapter. Now, one thing you didn't see
were Switch 2 games on sale. They never
said Switch 2 games would be on sale.
Some people were under that impression
they would be. Despite that, we do see
some Switch 2 accessories and stuff on
sale. So, take that for what you will.
All right, folks. Uh, we're going to
dive now into some Zelda stuff. And
first off, we have some technical specs
provided by Digital Foundry. Actually
goes through their Patreon episode here,
Digital Foundry Direct Weekly281. Uh, I
listened to it and I know exactly what
they said, but we're still going to go
ahead and reference a post that
summarizes it because I just wanted to
confirm what it said through their
Patreon because this is not public on
their YouTube channel yet. And I can
confirm the details we're about to read
here on Go Nintendo. So, Digital Foundry
analyzes the Ocarina of Time debut
trailer for text backc details. Uh, and
here's the big thing. It does not use
Unreal Engine 5 of any type. Okay. 60
fps. Yes, it isn't not like surprisingly
not using DLSS which is becoming quite
standard with Nintendo's games not using
it. Now the gameplay output is 1080p and
docked and handheld but the menus appear
to be 1440p. Now that would obviously be
in docked mode. Uh now one big thing is
they do know this is like not the Unreal
Engine engine engine at all. They talked
about how some of the shadows are real
time and baked in uh and how they think
they're using some light mapping and
stuff like that for some of the lighting
in the game. And they obviously really
really like how this is all coming
together. Noting they might not like
some of the sharpening, but they like a
lot of the other things they're doing.
In the end, guys, obviously we know the
trailer is uploaded in 4K. It might be
outputed in 4K, but it's obviously by
pixel count literally not 4K. So here is
the way we look at this, guys. We
obviously don't know what the final tech
specs are. These are not final tech
specs. These are specs from a trailer
uploaded to YouTube. Obviously, DLSS
implementation, other things could
happen before launch, day one patches,
all of that. Bottom line is, folks, this
is what it's looking like. It's looking
like this targeting 1080p at 60 fps with
higher resolution menus. I'm not
actually opposed to any of that. I think
that is totally fine. Uh, obviously we
all like to see higher resolutions, but
as long as it looks good, plays good,
and look, 60 fps to me is way more
important than going higher res. And
guys, with how good this game looks, I
mean, there's a lot of people saying
that this is like the first game
Nintendo has coming that looks next
generation looks like something that
could have never ran on Switch One. And
to do it at 60 fps is really, really
impressive. So, I just wanted to give
them a shout out here. Uh, Digital
Foundry doing their work. I think Super
Metal Dave figured some of this out too
originally as well, but I wanted to wait
till someone that people consider more
of an authority figure weighed in. And
hey, look, that means that Superal
Dave's analysis is pretty accurate, too.
So, we'll look to him in the future as
well if he gets to things quicker. Uh,
next up, we get to look at some Ocarine
of Time marketing and advertising uh out
of Japan. So, here we see a whole
section set up here at a display in
Shabuya. So, that's really cool. You can
see obviously a trailer playing. Uh
you're seeing obviously the art and the
game and the boxes there. Uh and here
you're seeing an up close of, you know,
some advertising for the game. So just
really cool to see this going on. I
haven't seen this in any of my local
stores yet, but I'm sure it's coming. Uh
next up, we have 7 seconds of brand new
uh footage of Ocarine of Time, and this
is courtesy of Nintendo via Nintendo
today. So really hard to show you guys
stuff from Nintendo today. Thankfully,
the video has been ripped and I found it
on Reddit, so I can confirm. I saw this
myself on Nintendo today and now I can
finally show it to you guys. So, here's
7 seconds. This is very early in the
game. This is essentially Link waking up
and getting out of bed and and putting
his hat on. This is basically the
beginning of when Link wakes up and you
get to use him. So, here we go. And you
can see puts his boots on, you know,
gets down, kind of straightens his belt
and all that and he's ready to go. and
that's probably right around the time
that you're going to end up taking over
as link. So, not a lot of new footage,
nothing crazy there, but it is new. It
is something we hadn't looked at on our
channel before, so I just wanted to
point it out. Uh, now we're going to go
into a couple things that some fans have
noticed, including something about the
tapestry, which could be hinting at new
content. But before we get to that
tapestry, someone noticed something in
the background of a screenshot that I
hadn't noticed, and it's led to a lot of
speculation. Uh this screenshot here in
particular, there's this purple stuff on
this log or something back here. No one
really knows what it is. It's not like
that in the original game. So, we don't
really know. And he does go on to note
that, hey, that same sort of purple
stuff is sort of happening with the gate
there. So, he says if you watch in real
time, it looks like there's a purple
aura emanating from it. But I had to
guess it's maybe a visual cue. Big Po is
there. That's all they can think. In the
next shot, the gate in the sacred forest
meadow is purple, too. It seems like an
odd color choice. Something sus here.
The answer is probably really
disappointing. And you know, this the
person did say the most likely answer is
that it's a big post spawn location. But
as you mentioned, the purple energy is
the same purple that the gate is made
out of in the clip of Link fighting the
wolfos in Sacred Forest Meadow. So, it
could have something to do with
defeating the enemies in the area. But
I'd still give it like an 80 to 90% odds
that it's likely just about big pose.
Speaking of stuff in the background, and
I haven't seen anyone mention this
before, it's visible in the background
of the gameplay demo just before Anuma
plays a sun song. The flower stands out
and has a very strong resemblance to the
Koro flowers in Breath of the Wild. And
we'll take a look at that as well here.
And will it load up here? Of course,
it's this tiny flower right here. I
don't know how zoomed in we can get, but
it's this tiny flower right here he's
talking about. So, lots of interesting
stuff going on that fans are noticing.
Obviously, we don't know 100% for sure
what it means. Uh, and the same is true
on this next thing we're going to be
talking about because there's this new
tapestry thing that they talked about in
the game very briefly and how basically
as you progress through the story,
you're going to unlock certain parts of
the tapestry. And we kind of got a zoom
out look at the tapestry, although
obviously not fully filled out with all
the story elements. And through this
zoom out, we figured out that there
seems to be a potential for new content
because we already know the story of
Ocarina of Time and there's a whole
section that doesn't have an easy
explanation. Although maybe it could
just be for side content and that's
something we'll get into. Although
there's no indication that side content
would be part of the tapestry, but let's
go into this. So, new story content in
the Ocarina of Time remake. So this is
the tapestry we're looking at here where
you see this is the stuff we've already
seen. Then these two spots here are
assumed to be like Goran's Ruby and Zora
Sapphire which then leads to you
obviously going to the next part of the
game where you get the six sage
medallions and then we know the ending
of the game. But what the hell is this
section here and why is there 1 2 3 4 5
six seven slots? What is going on here?
It says seven new pieces of contents
maybe you know and here's the original
look at that tapestry that we saw. I
obviously don't know what any of this
means, but as we go back into this, uh,
there are a lot of theories and
thoughts. So, first off, in the gameplay
shown in the Zelda Direct, we were able
to discover the threads of time system,
which lists the main events of the story
through a tapestry, which will reveal
itself as you progress. The events, as
on all tapestries that tell a story,
seem to be displayed chronologically
from top to bottom. Logically, Ganondorf
won't be right next to the deu tree. We
can thus spot the first events of the
story at the top of the tapestry. The
beginning of the game, the deu tree, the
meeting with Zelda just below. Given the
two red and white blue symbols, we can
deduce that these are the Goron Ruby and
Zora Sapphire. In the middle of the
tapestry around the Triforce, we clearly
recognize the symbols of the six sage
medallions, which all point to a
different slot. But then, what do the
seven slots below the six medallion
slots represent? The tapestry shows
important moments in the story, so these
won't be side quests, or at least they
shouldn't be. I thought of rather
important events other than the dungeons
like the ice cavern, the well, Zelda's
capture by Ganondorf, or even getting an
Eona, which could explain why some of
these seven slots are quite small. But I
don't see what other events from the
base game could be present in a tapestry
representing the main story to add up
the seven slots, especially since the
well and getting Eona are optional, so
not really part of the main story. The
specific location right between the end
of the game and the six medallions makes
it weird for small events like the ones
I listed above to appear right there. In
the original game, after getting the six
medallions, you head straight to the
Temple of Time, Zelda gets captured and
you go to Ganon's Castle. It would seem
weird for them to include so many slots
for so few events. Without wanting to
theorize on what this new content could
be, I was surprised by how much they
insisted on the Triforce in the Zelda
Direct. So, knowing that the Triforce
was supposed to be present in the base
game, but that they had to cut it due to
technical limitations, it wouldn't be
impossible for it to be included in one
way or another in this new content. Now,
this person talks about how you can fit
things like the ice cavern, bottom of
the well, Eona from Ingo, the midpoint
cut scene, and getting the Master Sword,
the Gerudo training ground, and House of
Sculla in those places. But again, a lot
of that is side content, optional, and
doesn't fit with the rest of the
tapestry. Um, maybe that means the
tapestry is like a 100% quest tracker,
but that's not the way that the tapestry
was presented. So, look, we obviously
don't know what if anything it means.
That is obviously just the leading
theory that maybe it's just those seven
things or maybe it's more. We have no
idea if there's new content. Uh, nothing
has been technically fully hinted at.
Well, at least that's what I thought
until people started taking closer looks
at the trailer and doing comparisons.
and and making the comparison and trying
to talk about one to one. Well, we know
quite literally there is some new stuff
in the game. We've seen a little bit of
it, but here's something we haven't seen
before, and that is new stuff in the
land between Castle Town and Hyrule
Castle. So, in the remake of Zelda
Ocarina of Time, the Citadel now extends
beyond the main square, and more houses
and terrain have been added before
reaching the castle. This shows that
yes, there will be new extensions added
and it won't be one to one remake. So,
we're talking about this right here,
these houses here. So, this is obviously
Castle Town. We know this even recognize
the top of the building here. This is
obviously Hydro Castle in between it is
a playable section, but we didn't have
houses in we can count at least three
maybe four buildings or houses back
there. That's really really fascinating.
And the guy goes on to say, "To those of
you saying the area will be a loading
screen or a background decoration, let
me tell you, you're wrong because that
area was already playable in the
original game. It was just much smaller
and there were no houses. Now the
terrain is bigger and there are five or
six houses. It's just the area you see
in the background that runs from the
market to the castle. It's this one I'm
putting here below in the photo. So,
it's explaining this area here that we
could already do in the original game.
So, this is sort of suggesting, guys,
that there is some new content going on,
and we're starting to see hints like
this all over that this is not a
onetoone game. There are new areas, new
sections, uh maybe even potentially uh
new enemy movements and and and moves
and and stuff like that. We've seen some
of that hinted in some of the footage.
So, this is what's really exciting about
the game is because we know the world of
Acarita Time so well, it's really easy
for us to find things that weren't
there. In fact, we already know about
one new piece of content, there is a
room already shown that never existed in
the original game. What room is it, you
may ask? Well, I'm going to leave that
for you guys to discuss down below. See
how keen of an eye you paid attention to
on all the footage that's out there and
what thing is actually completely brand
new. They've already shown proving this
isn't a one to one remake.
Give you a hint. It happens in the first
half of the game and it happens
somewhere by the castle. And I'll leave
it at that. Good luck. I'll catch you
guys in the next video.
