NEW AT SEPHORA! NEW Pat Mcgrath Quads, Westman Atelier Foundation , Patrick Ta & MORE!
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The video begins with an enthusiastic overview of several highly anticipated new makeup launches, including products from Pat McGrath Labs, Westman Atelier, Patrick Ta, Laura Mercier, Ilia, and Rare Beauty. The creator dives straight into testing the new Westman Atelier Supreme Bio Complex Liquid Foundation, noting its skincare-first approach with hydrating ingredients that make it feel more like a moisturizer than a traditional foundation. While she praises its ability to even out skin tone and provide a healthy, hydrated look suitable for mature skin, she points out that it does not live up to the "weightless" claim, feeling slightly heavier than expected. She also mentions that while the shade she purchased works well enough, those with lighter complexions might need to go a shade lighter than their usual match.
Next, the creator reviews the Patrick Ta Artistry Sticks and the new Laura Mercier Bond Glow Cream Face Palettes. The Patrick Ta sticks are described as excellent for precise contouring and brightening specific areas like the nose and under-eye region, though she feels they are too thin and dry to be used effectively as a general bronzer for the whole face. In contrast, her impression of the Laura Mercier cream palettes is mixed; while the blush and highlighter colors are pretty and natural, the formulas are extremely sheer and emphasize skin texture rather than providing a smooth, powdery finish. She finds them too expensive for their performance and prefers her current powder options, deciding to continue testing them to see if they improve with wear.
The main focus of the video is the new Pat McGrath quads, where the creator expresses disappointment that the "special" metallic shades are missing from the Rose Rebellion palette she purchased at Sephora, leaving only standard metallic finishes. Despite this lack of innovation in texture, she is thoroughly impressed by the high quality of the pigmentation and blendability, particularly praising the Film Noir Nude palette for its stunning neutral tones that rival her favorite Natasha Denona products. She notes that while the Rose Rebellion palette has some fun warm undertones and a unique chrome shade, it lacks the groundbreaking formulas she expects from the brand, leading her to wish the special shades had been included in this release instead.
Finally, the creator wraps up with quick thoughts on the Ilia finishing powder and the Rare Beauty lip oil stick. She finds the Ilia powder effective for setting makeup without flattening the skin or removing the glow provided by her foundation, making it a good option for those seeking hydration over a matte finish. The Rare Beauty lip oil stick receives high praise for its intense pigmentation, hydrating feel, and beautiful mauvey pink shade, which she loves despite minor concerns about melting in direct sunlight. Overall, while some products like the Pat McGrath quads did not reinvent the wheel as hoped, the creator concludes that the quality across all tested items remains exceptional, offering valuable insights for viewers deciding on these new releases.

Hello, my dear friends. Oh my gosh,
there is so much makeup launching. It is
hard to keep up, but you know, this is
what I live for. I am loving testing all
of the new makeup. So, I have some more
new makeup to test today that I think
you guys would be interested in. The
absolute start of the show. I did
I did end up picking up two of the new
Pat McGrath quads. How can I not? You
know, she launched four. We'll talk
about it. And then I just have a couple
other things that I thought I'd try
alongside it because I got to get to
tested on this stuff. I have the new
Westmin Itilier foundation, the new
Patrick Ta artistry sticks. Finally, I
picked up this new Ilia finishing
powder, which looks to be kind of like
an hourglassesque finishing powder
style. Laura Mercier just launched some
new cream face palettes. So, I might
grab into this for at least blush and
highlight today. I don't know about the
bronzer. And I picked up the shade I had
been wanting of the lip oil stick from
Rare Beauty. Some of these items I
actually have for an upcoming haul, but
I honestly couldn't wait to get them on
my face. So, I'm going to give you the
little preview before. So, I spent an
arm and a leg on this Westminier
foundation. I used it yesterday on
Instagram stories, but I didn't get to
wear it for long enough. This is their
Supreme Bio Complex Liquid Foundation.
It is a whopping $69. It is
Westminatilier, but it sounded right up
my alley. It's supposed to feel
weightless, have a medium coverage, blur
and smooth the skin with a very hydrated
finish. in Westminatilier I would target
as a mature skin friendly brand. So
normally if it works on mature skin it's
going to work on everybody and I find
that this really feels like a skin care
first formula and there are skincare
ingredients here that's supposed to like
smooth and brighten and tone and firm
but like I feel like every foundation
nowadays claims that. But I do feel like
this feels really nice on the skin and
it it does feel like a skincare product
to me because it does feel really
hydrating on the skin. The only call out
I'll have that it claims is I don't feel
as though it's weightless.
I mean that's okay because it does feel
nice and hydrating. But yeah, it does
not feel weightless. It almost feels
like a moisturizer, you know, a cream.
So here's how it looks on my skin. You
can see very hydrated, very skin-like. I
don't think it blurs pores or anything,
but it definitely evens the skin out
while keeping the skin looking nice and
hydrated. By the way, I picked up shade
Ailier L2. I think is a tan shade for
me. So, I could have gone just a wee bit
lighter. It still is workable for me
right now. But, if you are a shade
match, do keep that in mind. Like, I'm
not unhappy with this shade match. I
wouldn't return it, but I probably could
have gone a wee bit lighter. Let's build
up a little bit of coverage.
This is how she's sitting on the skin so
far. I think the skin looks really
healthy. It does give a true medium
finish. I just need to see how this wear
is, but I definitely like it. It's not
beating out my Dior foundations in a
fight by any means, but it does look
really beautiful. And I think if I'm
having a dry skin day that my skin will
really thrive with this. So, I do think
it will be a great option for mature
skin. I did order the Patrick to
Artistry sticks. They're $34 each, so
they're quite expensive. There's 10
different shades, so I thought I'd show
you the ones that I picked up. Got the
brightener in spotlight. This shade is
amazing structure for my skin tone. And
then this one is shape. So, these are
like thin contour sticks, which are
becoming quite popular right now. Like,
I have mixed feelings about these thin
sticks because I really like them for
like my nose and my lips, but I don't
like them for contouring like the
outskirts of my face. But this, the
shade structure, I love for down the
nose. I used these yesterday as well, so
I'm definitely forming an opinion on
these now. But structure is the absolute
most perfect nose contour shade for me.
It's natural enough, but it still adds a
nice shape. I also really like this
around the outskirts of the lips.
Actually, there is a little brush on the
end here that you can use. It's a little
It's a little dense. I don't love it,
but in a pinch, you can use it,
especially for like the nose and stuff.
Now, shape. Here's what I don't like for
using this for bronzer. It's really more
of a contour shade, I guess. You know,
if you truly were just using it to
pinpoint certain areas on the face, it's
not that big of a deal, right? Just a
little here,
a little there. Just more precision.
This is fine.
Then you can go in with a different
bronzer.
But yeah, I guess this is good for the
pinpointed shape. Yesterday I was using
it all the way around and it just felt
like such a waste of product to me. So I
would almost never reach for this to use
as my bronzer for the day. I'd only use
for this for precision contour, which
this is meant to be used as contour, but
it's a shade that can also be used to
bronze if you want. Not a super warm
bronze, but especially if you have a
cool undertone.
Um, but yeah, just pinpointing under the
cheeks, it's fine and it does blend
really nicely. I think this is a very
nice formula. It's easy to use. So, if
you love a more pinpointed
contour style product, you'll like this.
You can also run this into the eye for
the brightening shade. You can use it
like right here to clean up and
brighten. You can put it on the under
eyes if you want. It didn't mess with my
concealer too much. It is quite creamy.
So, I'll probably just use this here for
example. I would also use this if I
wanted to brighten or shape like
underneath my eyebrows. But you see how
nice that does blend and that does clean
up and brighten. So, just think, you
know, if you're looking straight
forward, where would you want the
brightest points of the face? You can
kind of naturally see you'd want it
here, you'd want it here, you'd want it
here. And you can go through and correct
with this brighter shade as well if you
over bronzed or over contoured. I'm just
going to leave it at that. Overall, I
think these are very, very nice. They
blend very easily. If you like the thin
shape of them, you will enjoy them and
they don't mess with the finish of the
foundation or anything or catch on to
any dry patches. They truly just shade
and shape where you want them to. I have
two of the new Laura Mercier Bond Glow
Cream Face Palettes. I hadn't heard much
about these, but you know, I'm a Laura
Mercier stand here. They're quite
expensive. They're $59. There's four
different shades. It's a creamy balm to
powder face and eye palette. It's a face
palette. I have the shades a more And
then here's Jolie, which will be more
for medium complexion. So, I want to see
how exactly cream to balmy this is. It
just feels like a really wet balm if I'm
being honest, which I mean, you can see
how wet that looks. I don't like that.
Very, very sheer. I don't know if I'm
going to enjoy this, but I thought I
would use it for some color on the face
today. So, we'll take the sculpt shade.
Just using the Amore palette.
Yeah, this is quite subtle.
Very
natural actually. Quite pretty.
Melted in really nicely. I was not
impressed with this. Like I don't really
see it being powdery. It's similar to
the new Armani blushes where those are
balm and they turn to powder, but those
ones are actually a lot more pigmented.
These are more sheer to begin with.
Actually going to take the highlight
glow color first.
You know, I'm really picky about a cream
highlighter, but actually
it's not that bad. This is quite natural
and pretty. It's again, I prefer a
powder.
This is not changing my mind anytime
soon. No. See, it's emphasizing. It's
emphasizing texture. I don't love it.
Actually, it's okay. It's okay. It does
add a pretty glow, actually.
Am I giving you whiplash? Um, it's
pretty good for what it is. I'm content
with it today. And then we'll put on a
little bit of this peachy pinky cheek
color.
I don't know if these are going to last
very long though on the face. I feel
like these could fade just based on how
it's swatched, but we'll have to see.
Yeah, I didn't love the highlight cream.
It's pretty. It's good for a highlight
cream, but I do feel like I lost some of
the smoothness on my face from it
because it emphasized a little bit, but
good enough for the cheek color today. I
think [snorts] it's quite expensive
though for what it is for $59.
I'm going to continue using it, but on
first impression, I'm not like jumping
for joy over this. I picked this up out
of my own curiosity, the Ilia Self Focus
Finishing Powder. It's $44 for a powder,
but it was giving me very much Hourglass
vibes because it's supposed to hydrate
the skin and blur, add a dimensional
finish while also ex absorbing excess
oil. So, I'm just going to use this to
lightly set my skin today. I used this
yesterday. I wasn't sure quite how I
felt. This one I think is going to take
a number of uses to gain my thoughts on,
but my idea for this is to set my makeup
without looking completely mattified.
Hopefully, that's where I would like to
use a powder like this. And I feel like
it did a really nice job of that today.
I didn't love it yesterday, but I feel
like it did exactly what I wanted it to
do to almost be an untraceable powder on
the skin that will set my makeup, but
didn't flatten everything that I use.
Like the Westmin Itilier foundation
added such a pretty glow. I wanted that
glow to stay and I do feel like it's
there. So that's nice. I don't think it
like blurred or anything, but it set
without being too mattifying. So, so far
so good. So, okay. I like how I use that
today. But let's get into the meat and
potatoes of this video. I did end up
ordering two of the eyeshadow quads from
the new Pat McGrath collection. These
have potential. I'm not sure. I wanted
to do the research for you, but this is
like her backstage artistry collection.
So, you can get the whole collection on
the Pat McGrath website. I just ordered
what was available at Sephora because
the Emerald Eyeshadow Quad was
absolutely beautiful. And then there was
this, it's supposed to also be a face
palette of like primary colors
basically. I knew I didn't want that.
So, I settled for the two that they had
at Sephora. And then they also have an
eyebrow gel that's like tinted and it
changes the color of your eyebrows. Not
my style, so [laughter] I didn't
purchase that, though I do believe that
is available on Sephora. I picked up the
two eyeshadow palettes and these are $62
each and I want to see if these are
giving old school Pat McGrath because,
you know, they've been going through a
lot of changes lately as a brand. So, I
was just curious like what this launch
was going to be. So, the packaging is
kind of simple here. I can see on the
back it already says made in Italy. 18
month shelf life.
She's launched little quads like these
before, which historically are pretty
nice quality.
The pans are smaller than I thought they
were going to be, but these are Rose
Rebellion. I mean, they're not like
small, but
remember these quads used to just like
take up the whole palette. They don't
anymore. They're smaller. But they've
launched palettes with these size pants
before. This is the one that I know you
guys want to see because it's the one I
wanted to see. Ooh, that's pretty. But
I'm not I'm not seeing any special
shades. This is Film Noir Nude.
Beautiful. Okay, let's get these
swatches on. We'll do the exciting one.
So, metallic,
satin matte,
metallic, and then this is basically a
metallic shade as well.
No special shades in this one.
The shimmers are a little sticky
feeling. Not in a bad way. They'll stick
to the eyelid, but I just want to note
what I'm feeling.
Ah, that kind of looks kind of looks
average. No, like a normal like a normal
pretty quad,
but nothing special. This one has a
little bit more potential here if you
can see these shades. So, let's see what
formulas we're working with. This
doesn't necessarily feel like a special
special shade, you know, from the
Mothership palettes, but it's got a
little more oomph to it. We have a matte
ballet pink satin matte. Has some reflex
in there. Kind of chocolatey brown.
Okay. And then this shade's kind of
special. Yeah. So, the color palette
that I love the most, the noir, has
nothing special about it at all. Turns
out the rose shade, which I almost
passed on, actually has a little bit of
pizzazz here. So, let's see this last
one.
Yeah,
it's still not the formula that I'm
looking for, but it is more true to Pat
McGrath. This looks like it's going to
be a little little flaky. We'll see
about that. But yeah, this palette is
just all regular metallic, which is
disappointing. Beautiful, but
disappointing. But this one looks like
it's actually going to give us
something. Let's play with this palette
first, the Film Noah nude, because I'm
disappointed in it. It had potential to
be so stunning.
I mean, it is stunning, but wow, this is
super duper pigmented, though. It had
potential to be amazing. It looked
gorgeous, but it's just like normal
formulas. So,
just not what we're used to from Pat
McGrath. I mean, we are now, but [sighs]
[gasps] as an OG fan, still holding on
hope. Anyways, this is a lovely,
beautifully pigmented crease shade to
start us off. I'm sure this is going to
be gorgeous, this palette here. Going to
use that also on the lower lash.
Run that along. Let's add some depth
here.
I'm being careful because this shade
could have some fallout because it's so
metallic, but it's actually sticking to
the eyelid really nicely. Just getting a
little bit of additional depth built up.
Going to use the bronze shade on the
majority of the eyelid. Oh, that's
gorgeous. I mean, it's very, very high
quality. All of these shades,
just not the special texture, but
gorgeous nonetheless.
And then we're going to take
the lightest shade and
brighten everything up.
When I say I like cool tones, this is
the kind of cool tone I'm talking about
where it's really just neutral taes.
Like this is what I want a giant Natasha
Denona palette of.
Oh, that's beautiful.
Oh my gosh. I was just talking crap on
this palette, but like it's gorgeous.
Like I love this look. I love the
quality.
I love the tones. This is an ideal
everyday palette for me. Um, it's not
special, but I love it. Okay,
I was ready to be like, "Oh my god, what
a waste of money." It's not. It's
beautiful. Okay, let's try Rose
Rebellion, which I was pretty sure I was
not going to even buy, but this one
actually has some spunk to it, a little
bit of fun. So, I'm just going to start
off with this ballet pink.
It's actually a little bit of warmth on
it when it's blended into the skin. Now,
this we've seen a billion times over
from Pat McGrath, as you know. The girl
loves rose. Always mauvey roses. Like,
they came out with Divine Rose. It sold
so well, put the brand even higher on
the map. Uh, and then they like could
never let it go and everything after
that point was rose. This is like a
peachy rose. I wish it pulled less warm
on me,
but anyways. And then this chocolate
brown has some pink reflex in there,
but the pink reflex are going to blend
away. It's one of those formulas. I
don't know what I want to do. I was
almost going to do a halo eye and then I
was almost about to put this brown all
over the eyelid because I want to layer
the shades, but I do want to see each
shade kind of on their own. So, I'm just
going to leave this as is. But there's a
couple looks that I have in mind. Oh my
gosh, I have to admit, you guys, it
feels good to play with eyeshadow to
play with Pat McGrath eyeshadow, no
less. How fun. So, this shade is
got a chrome to it, right? I think it's
duo chrome. It has like a golden green
shift to it.
Oh, this is beautiful. This is a special
shade. It's like her more modern special
shades, not the OG special shades, but
that's really pretty.
This does give Pat McGrath. That's so
funny. I am so upset that there's
nothing special about this palette. I
love it, but the palette that I wasn't
going to get is the one that actually
has what I was looking for. I They just
Why does it have to be pink? Why did the
special palette have to be pink? Does
the Emerald palette have any special
shades? Let me know. I passed on it, but
I don't know. I'm like kind of wanting
it now. Now, this shade did feel a
little chunky to me. It looks a little
chunky. This might have to be tried on a
different day just cuz I don't have
enough eyelid space,
but if you use a glitter glue, it's
fine.
I'm going to have to keep you guys
updated. I just don't have the space for
this, and I wanted to try this one.
But these are high quality eyeshadows,
you guys. The mattes are blending
beautifully. The shimmers are messfree.
Very, very high quality.
Let me put a little bit of brown liner
on in the typical Pat McGrath way. I
mean, I was not excited about these
little guys.
They're beautiful and I just had a
really fun time with them. I think it's
just been so long since I've used Pat
McGrath eyeshadows on camera that
these are fun. These are these are very
pretty. They are not anything new.
Nothing was reinventing the wheel here,
but if you need a little new fresh Pat
McGrath kick. I mean,
I do like these. I do. Um, and then last
thing that I have, I'm just going to
finish off. It's not going to match, but
my eyes are already mismatched. I want
to try the formula of the soft pinch lip
oil stick from Rare Beauty. I picked up
the shade Dream. It was sold out at my
Sephora, so I ordered it online. They're
so nice. They're very pigmented.
hydrating, have a little bit of a glow.
They don't feel too goopy or melty in
the stick, but I wouldn't suggest
leaving this in the sun.
I love this shade. This is such a pretty
everyday mauvey pink.
Okay, it's already escaped outside of my
lip liner, though, so hopefully it
doesn't get too messy. Boom. That's what
we're working with today. That was a fun
little play sesh. I mean, it's not like
a put together look, but here's what
we've put together here. I love how
hydrating the Westminatilier foundation
is. I still don't know if it's like
worth it or a top favorite of mine, but
I do think it's going to be really
hydrating and beautiful for mature skin.
It's just not as blurring as I would
have liked for it to be. The Patrick Ta
artistry sticks are exactly what you
would want out of these, but they are
thin. So, I wouldn't really use it for
the outskirts of my face, but for more
precise areas, fantastic. Not sold quite
yet on this cream face palette from
Laura Mercier. Going to have to wear it
some more. The Ilia powder, I liked how
I used it today, so going to This is
another one where it's going to take a
few uses for me to decide. Uh, I like
this lip oil stick. I mean, it's it's a
lip product, so whatever. But obviously,
this was the main focus of the video.
And as uninterested as I was by this
launch, the quality didn't disappoint.
The formulas
in this particular one did disappoint me
in that it was missing [clears throat]
anything special. Like these are both
the same price point, but this just has
basic [snorts] nice quality like
metallic shades, whereas the rose one
actually has some extra special pizzazz
that I think warrants the price point a
little bit more. But that said, even
this palette, like it's gorgeous. It's
high quality. So yeah, I mean, if you're
a Pat McGrath collector, these aren't
anything new, but I like them. So that's
that's that on that. I hope you guys
enjoyed this video. I just wanted to
cover these quads because I knew a lot
of you are curious about them. I hope
this helped you make your decisions. And
if you picked up the green palette from
the Pat McGrath website, let me know the
formulas in there. I'm curious. And I'll
see you guys in the next one. Bye, guys.
Have a good one. It's delicious.
