Bear with me one second. So yeah, it's it's here. I just paste it. I'm just going to create an entry for today. One second. So, um, so yeah, uh, basically last time we discussed more or less about our, um, so our, uh, CubeCon Salt Lake City community hub sessions. Um and basically we went through the we went through some uh items from previous times actually was a pretty interesting discussion. Um so we talked about for example what are uh is the document what are the resources we currently have for neurodeiversity what we want to do after Cubicon Salt Lake City with all this information uh and basically we want to work more on the documentation on the resources that we started uh and we want to publish these once we finish on the CNCF um uh website. So like this obviously we can share with uh the whole world let's say with a bigger majority. So I will just um show what I'm talking about because that's always the good practice. So let me just open this one. Okay. So what I'm talking about is the following. Sorry, this is something else, right? So, we have here in our neurodeiversity slack channel, we have some resources. Uh, and we started a living doc for best practices. So, if you headed there, it is the first one that appears. I'll also add it uh now in the chat. Let's see if this allows me. Yeah, it's a bit of a hassle to add things here. I'll add it later. Anyway, so uh in this one, best practices, we started a living dock that we we should make more effort to to complete. What we want to do after CubeCon Solid City, but obviously we can start even right now is to complete it. So we gather one year since neurodeiversity has b has been born uh but no within the CNCF merge forward and we want to add our first best practices that will live on the CNCF website and this is just a plan uh obviously we can add more that's that's not a problem and we have already a model uh that other working groups have started. They already published um such as blind and visually impaired or deaf and heart of hearing. they already have their own best practices and this is something that we want to mimic um and they have their own checklist uh resources anyway uh a lot of cool stuff let's say that other people can can refer to uh and this is very I think it's very very helpful for their particular working group so this is what we want to do for neurodeiversity we don't have yet a model because uh we are creating this right now. Uh but yeah, we are very happy if you could chip in with ideas. You could start uh contributing. You don't have to be an expert in anything. Just your own ideas. Uh and little by little with all the contributors we can shape it up and uh publish it when we are happy to publish it on the CNCF website. >> Terrific. Uh Dana first of all congratulation for a CNCF ambassadorship and >> thank you >> and also I attend your uh AIF session last week in which you tell about the anomalies and MCP servers how to connect and I'm just a new graduate just I'm graduated from my college uh I'm also working as a DevOps engineer also I'm try to contribute in CNCF community and currently I'm actively try to uh contribute in the this community also I when I get connected to the uh much forward but uh I'm looking for the place where I can I can connect people and contribute and uh currently I'm working on uh the LFX mentorship program going on uh so I have trying to get in that program try to contribute some good PR in the some projects that's it >> yeah perfect thank you so much um yeah and this is really great. Um, and I I saw you particip to to contribute and this is really awesome. Uh, so about uh neurodyiversity um this is how we can start contributing. Uh I'm not sure are you going to be or do you have any intentions to participate at CubeCon like Salt Lake City or maybe uh in Europe? Yeah, if if I get chance to participate, I will happy to participate in that pro uh coupon and all. Uh there is a coupon in India last month >> but I missed that uh due to my some colleges uh my college session exams are going in the last months. So that's why I'm unable to attend the CubeCon India. But there are some CNCF uh C program in Kerala and Gujarat. I'm going to attend that both in 22 22nd August and next month 19th September KCD event. So I'm [snorts] going to there and there is yeah Sep is there now. I am connecting with him. >> Awesome. Um just heard from Pashant. I'm Ryan. I've been working uh with Diana since the beginning with this group. I'm a principal platform architect at Broadcom um helping them accelerate their new VKS their VMware Kubernetes service offering uh to their customers and so been around the CNCF. I run the local cloud native Madison community group just launched the AIF uh community Madison chapter as well. Uh so community building and and is is very dear to me um and this uh this group in particular is as well. So um I will be at CubeCon NA. Feel free to add your name. uh any questions you might have or anything like that please please please um add add it there as you want or just uh yep so um from my side yeah I'm Diana I've uh joined neurodyiversity since its beginning last year uh it's been quite I want to say an intense let's say um path with neurodeiversity which we are very happy with with its evolution together with Ryan we partic participated at different conferences, bigger conferences um and we let's say publicized tried to enter in contact with the community and talk about more and more uh neurodyiversity what we are doing here at merge forward. So for cube console like city we have prepared some community uh hub sessions and talks and hopefully uh we can see you there in person we can see other uh people and spread around what we have been doing in the last year. Um definitely what we want right now because uh like I mentioned at the beginning for neurodeiversity is a new group. It's a new group within CNCF. We want to add something on paper and by paper I mean online presence. So definitely that's the the objective after CubeCon. Uh and yeah, keep keep the good work with um the visibility, raising the visibility for neurodyiversity, welcoming more uh contributors um and definitely do more onsite uh meetups if that's possible. We always welcome people to take initiative, speak at their own meetups or create their own meetups. uh and yeah the be let's see how can I the uh yeah the ones that spread love about neurodeiversity and and merge forward. So I I'm really glad that you guys already have some uh experience with cloud native open source and this is something wonderful to see. Um yeah I I would like to hear more from from Debbie. Yeah, I got to know about the platform through Google search I would say because there was a night I was going through um Google cuz I really wanted to connect with neurodyivergent individuals you know due to my profession and being a neurotypical it's easy to due to um um um also what is out there the information out there it's easy to just um look at neurody divergent from the aspect of what's in the textbook or what's online. So I just wish to connect with neuro neurody divergence so I can have um I can know them personally and all the things that are written there in the textbook how I can relate with it and what also differs. So really that's what led me to search online for communities where there are neurody divergence and I found the platform. So that's how come I'm here. Thank you. >> You're welcome. Um and yeah for us it will be really amazing the same if um you be uh willing to contribute or get involved or anything like that or yeah like we are doing right now just participate at um at at these meetups uh what I will share with you um is the best practices neurodeiversity document we are right now chipping in we are contributing So I paste it here in the chat. [clears throat] So this is something that we are currently focused on and once it's finished we want to publish it on the CNCF website and definitely we are no experts in the sense of any you know like we don't have any profession that we do this uh like we're not doctors or anything. We are not like purely uh focusing on neurodyiversity on a daily basis but definitely any uh contribution is welcomed. Uh so any ideas you have don't don't feel shy you can uh you can add there your your two cents your ideas even questions uh that would be really really awesome. Oh >> yeah your background in particular I echo that you know is uh phenomenal what we're looking for. We don't claim to be, you know, clinical staff and and and trying to help with diagnoses. You know, we're here to just kind of build from the bottom up, learn from lived experiences, and then try to use that influence to try to carry that forward and and um you know, influence structural change around what we're seeing out there. So I I got to know about much forward community back in cubecon India Mumbai that the so I just got to know from the sep actually so sep has came and introduced uh why don't you uh give a shot or why don't you join and we are lot of people in this space so so he just given an opportunity and guided what is about the match forward communities is what are the communities are there woman in tech diversity and neuro neuros and also blind and other things and all speeches and also uh previously icon I was been a volunteer in um CNCG Bangalore and Hyderabad chapters along with leadership of Atul Priya and uh Humbul so they are the organizers from Bangalore and Hyderabad so I been volunteer from last 3 Yes. So feel free to to take a look add your ideas. Um this is basically it runs it's a living document so there's no you know don't be shy to to contribute to it. Um and after CubeCon solic city we would like to uh finalize the work and and be able to publish um this document on the CNCF website. Um but yeah, we currently have many other activities as well like uh mentorship activities because you're talking about volunteering and I think you have an amazing experience with this. So if you would like to get involved, please reach out. Um and also to merge forward um and yeah um just let us know if you have any questions until now um and we can get to the next part in the conversation. Yeah, I want to ask something about contribution. Uh, and last meeting Stefan told me to try to contribute in the much forward community. But after that meeting, I tried to uh find out where I can contribute but I didn't found anything resource or something regarding merge forward where I can contribute where I can talk to people but I didn't find any there. Uh and if you guys go to merge forward uh slack channel um they are bookmarked here. So obviously it starts with the merch for drive and every single group that is separated. So the seven working groups uh we have here obviously this uh this is a living document with the upcoming events. So in case you want to offer a volunteer, this is a way also a way to contribute like you said Prashan um you're going to go to particular events clative events um in India or elsewhere doesn't matter you can add them on the list and specify if you're going to be an organizer or if you're going to be uh a speaker uh and you can reach out obviously if you're not an organizer you can reach out to the organizers and usually Usually what they do, they can either uh volunteer you to small booth uh like for example you can talk to people about what merge forward is uh or you can even uh host a small presentation. It depends on how the they have the scheduling done. So you can give even a talk there about merge forward or just talk to people like face to face um about merge forward. So, uh, feel free to check this one out. Um, being Stefan or Katherine, uh, if you don't have access or if there are any ed edits that you cannot do. Um, so this is this would be the first one. So, it's basically events, what's happening on site, um, what you can do there, if you can help organize or if you want to support, let your score a session uh, etc. I put my name in volunteer list. >> Perfect. Yeah. Mhm. >> In KCD Gujarat, I put my name there in the volunteers section. >> Perfect. So, one thing I would uh Yeah. One here, one thing I would recommend you to do also to reach out to the organizers. Um maybe they don't look periodically on this document. So I would just reach out to Sandep obviously you know him uh you also put yourself uh as an organizer uh sorry attendee but just ping sandep because I know he's an organizer and ask him uh how you can get involved if you're going to be there on site if you can attend the kiosk or if you can speak give a talk or anything that you can uh uh you can get in contact with him and u that that will be great. You can do it async uh because this how we also do it as well. >> Okay, >> perfect. Uh what we have another thing going on at the moment. We have the body program. Uh so we are talking about the mentorship. Uh the body program is something that we we just kicked off the tests or or the pilot. Basically we launched uh with a Google form here. So you can check below. We had a few um applications. Obviously we we have a list of mentors and we had uh some applicants um applicants for mentees. Uh but this is a roll out. So right now we are in the beta. We just started uh this program. So we got paired mentors and mentees. But this is ongoing. So don't be shy. You can reach out to Stefan or uh Katherine if you want to apply either for mentor or for mentee as you want. Uh so for example I started uh I got paired with um with a person and we are already at the second um at the second meet sorry at the second sync um it doesn't so it can go depending on you you can define your criteria in the form if you want to have it like a project based um like I don't know six months uh base it depends so there it's pretty much flexible and based on that obviously your your preferences uh you get paired with a mentor or with a mentee. So this is another way you can contribute. Uh also Simon if you're interested feel free to to take a look at this as you have experience in volunteering. I'm I'm sure this this will be something that's uh interesting for you too. Um, another thing we kicked off and by the way you can interrupt me anytime if you have questions. I will take a break now if you have some questions about the body program. >> Yeah. Can right now we are you're taking application for the body program currently. Yeah, I think right now uh I mean we kicked off the beta rollouts but I think we are welcoming uh any suggest sorry any applicants who are mentors on mentees. I would suggest to ping directly Stefan and Katherine because they they are the ones who organize it. Uh but yeah, this is on a on a roll out. So definitely we want more people to to get involved. So it's not closed or anything. >> Okay. Okay. >> Perfect. Um the next one would be the partnership program. This is something more between how we can get uh cloud native um groups like for example KCDs or cloud native days uh events and organizers to partner with March forward. Uh yeah me myself and I Iris we are leads uh that means that we reach out to organizers uh and reach out to them how we can partner and spread let's say uh this this community partnership obviously uh if you know organizers for such groups you can always ping us or if you have any ideas about how we can make this better uh you can also contribute. So uh there's another way you you can ping us about it. Um obviously we want more visibility in different areas of the world and currently we just started this uh program. So definitely want to contribute a lot more with other um with other organizers. So that's really good. If we can spread that we are doing this at the moment uh that would that would be amazing. Yeah, I agree that that might be a good answer. >> See if the Oh, sorry. Um I I my local community group is a partner of the um Merge Forward program. It's great. You know, we talk about Merge Forward at the beginning of every single one of our meetups. Uh that might be a good angle for you to take. Check with your local organizers. Um see if they're interested in partnering and pretends you can be that local advocate for for Merge Forward at every meeting. Um so yeah, thanks for sharing that Diana. It's a good thing. >> Yeah, of course. Um, and yeah, because we have the CubeCon activities. Um, I these are, by the way, they're not restricted to CubeCon, um, Europe or Salt Lake City. Uh, we usually do them because CubeCon, Salt Lake City, and Europe tend to be the bigger the bigger ones. Uh, so that's why we kind of like group around this, but obviously we always want to be present at other CubeCons, right? Uh so this is for example is just a model right now we have the CubeCon Salt Lake City coming up in North America and we have here for example the model what we did at uh in Amsterdam this year and the previous year in Atlanta what we have there so anyway I won't go uh in depth here because this is agenda of previous talks but what we do is we have um we have kiosk that means a pavilion where we have So it's actually saying here so kiosk project pavilion uh we get a day where we have different slots and we organize those slots for our seven working groups and people volunteer to stay at the kiosk and speak with people who are interested in that. Um so that's one uh obviously you need to volunteer and need to be able to come to that particular cubecon. Uh then we have the CubeCon party that emerge for this hosting. Um so definitely that's something that we always looking for more volunteers. We have the media interviews that Katherine organizes and normally we do a say a roll out. So at one CubeCon there are going to be uh some members the next CubeCon other members and so on. So everybody has a chance to to to be present at this media interviews. And on the list we have the cube uh community hub sessions like we were mentioning previously. So we are sending uh CFPs we are sending abstracts to uh to CubeCon and uh what it means we have one session that is basically a workshop like a workshop it's one hour in length and we tend to get like a bigger room. Um we do exercises and yeah we interact with with the people there and uh the other possibility for the community hub is a talk so a normal presentation normally we wanted it more interactive as well. Uh so we get two type of sessions and again this is to raise visibility have people come in uh talk to each other u yeah and answer any questions that that we can. So I think um this is like the model we are we want to have but obviously it's not set in stone. If we can replicate these type of activities at other CubeCons obviously across Asia across other areas of the world that would be amazing. So if you guys are organizers or if you know organizers from CubeCon, please feel free to to reach out to them and just say like hey we want to replicate this model. How can we do it? We need some examples or we need help or anything like that or you propose something new. Uh that's totally fine and that's that's amazing. So this is definitely another way you can contribute. So this is something you can contribute definitely I think this is the easiest way you can contribute because obviously it doesn't involve the physical uh how can I say interaction or necessarily going to an event moving to an event etc etc this is something we are doing at the moment and I showed you the document the document for neurodeiversity is basically async we want to have cube consol I'm repeating myself but that's okay to publish this best practice for neurodeiversity uh and we have here the model uh from the other working groups. Uh yeah I was going through the types of way you can contribute to merge forward and that's uh an amazing question. So I was here so basically in the merge for you have all these lists of programs and ongoing activities uh the same travel hub uh is something we initiated um and normally it's focused on any large event but obviously uh it depends. So for example, let's say you you are going to a particular event that's on this list or on another list and say like you can reach out even in the channel say hey I'm traveling to I don't know CubeCon Salt Lake City or I'm traveling to CubeCon India or I'm going to like even a smaller event doesn't matter uh are you is anybody going to be there? Uh yes okay good or I'm traveling from this place to that place. Uh let's be travel bodies because that's always great. Uh for example, I'm traveling from Europe right now for Cubicon Salt Lake City. It's a very long flight not to drive. So I'm trying to uh I mean the more the marrier that always gives confidence and safety you know and you feel like like you know time goes easier and sometimes things happen in the during the travel maybe your flight get cancelled or you need some assistance or anyway uh doesn't necessarily have to happen anything but you know you're just going to have fun if you're going to have a travel buddy. So this is what we are trying to do. uh the same don't be don't be shy like always reach out to people emerge forward say hey I'm traveling to this place going from that place uh who knows maybe maybe people will be there around uh and as we are scaling we are more and more people joining for sure there will be other people like crossing each other's paths on the same uh flights or the same trains etc um so yeah this is definitely something to to have in mind. And then there are just like smaller things um that you can check. Um we have also I think like a t-shirt um for example we we created some merch for t-shirts and we picked them up at CubeCon Amsterdam. Uh I'm not sure what's the thing for CubeCon sol city if we're going to do the same but again if you have any ideas about swag about merge u please ping merge forward ping us in the group um we are happy to hear you and not the least this is the momentum deck if you are going to any meetup doesn't matter yeah you're going to see me a lot because I give a lot of talks but uh for example we have like other people here like we had a booth uh at clientative days France for example we had our ambassadors here um it was great because we tend to be more people at different events even if it's not a big event can be a meet up for example in your local town or at your company and you give a talk about something related to merge for it's about merge for take a photo talk about it put it here uh spread spread, you know, spread the ongoing u uh ongoing visibility. We also add here the posts that we do the marketing post. If you're an organizer and you want to mention that you're parting with Merch Forward, these are examples of how you can do it. Again, if you want to have uh some specific marketing kits for your presentation and um your meetups, uh just ping us. I think we already have them here in the in Slack. Yeah, we do have them here. So, it they're actually bookmarked. Let me see if I can open this one. We have actually marketing kits and it should be available on the main website as well. Yeah, I think it is. So, merge forward. Yeah. So for example, you have docs and marketing kits. Exactly. So this is actually really cool. You have collaboration best practices. Uh about your question Pashant. I think this is will be good. So if you can read it, roles responsibility marketing kit. So you have like slide templates. If you are doing a presentation, if you want to put just one slide in your presentation, I actually do that. I have like technical talks. I do a lot of technical talks and at the end I do a call out slide about merge forward. If you can want to add just a logo for your let's say post on LinkedIn or other social media, you add want to add any images again. So everything is public. It's accessible. Um, and if you want something more like that is not there, reach out to to us, to Katherine, to Stefan, and just in general to to the Slack channel. And I will take a break. We had a drought and I think the Super Elino was just starting. So, we had an awful summer. It was already super hot and I was like, "Wait, now it hasn't even started yet." So, I think it's going to get worse over the next few months. So, good luck everybody with the heat that's coming. >> Yeah. I know I'm mentioning because I'm uh I mean I I love summer, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it's just like it's conflicting with the working experience. I'm like, "Oh, I can't wait for the September or end of September until there's a breeze or something." Uh but yeah, that's that's just me. People usually people love summer, so that's great. uh and also I have uh another thought another way you can contribute uh besides I know giving talks or helping organizers or async with uh some documentation for for the best practices uh you can always um for example if you have any people that do are doing any podcasts or you are an organizer you have your own podcast you can always invite uh people from merch for to be guests and just talk about uh different topics either accessibility or what merge for is doing or even more particular to the specific working group like I don't know uh neurodeiversity or anything like that or even something broader uh that is connected to your project uh but yeah we are trying to invite people from merch for to be guests or bring out their expertise um many of us are technical uh So we are actually either software uh engineers or devops engineers or technical writers architects. So many flavors. Uh and it's good to talk about our work and our connection with merch forward. Uh so yeah if you ever are are you know trying to get raise more visibility in that sense for for this group you can always recommend to a podcast and think how do we reach out to the community um in which sense like for this particular idea with the podcast or in general the merch for >> yeah maybe they can reach out to their local communities CNCG G. Yeah, that will be the best place uh to them. >> Yeah, exactly. So, yeah, exactly. So, um yeah, of course, there's always like either a web page or even via chat somewhere. Uh just say, "Hey, I know this group merge forward. Uh we are a bunch of us and um yeah if you have any ideas that you can include us in a um in a talk in a podcast anything like that um and then you can reach out back to us or at merge for and say hey I know let's say we are doing a gathering of women in cloud native or open source or women in tech or anything like that or any any other flavor that you want uh sky's is the limit uh and just just ping in in the chats. Uh for example, I did I'm trying to do multiple podcasts. I did one just recently with uh women in cloud native, but we were also parts of the um merch for group and they also talked about their involvement in um in technical work uh and the upcoming upcoming uh KCD events. There are also organizers. I did another episode about neurodeiversity and I'm trying to loop more of Merge Forward into into the topic. Uh yeah, I mean I really want to have more people from different areas of the world, not just Europe or North America. Uh so yeah, that's definitely on my my agenda. So um I'll reach out to you guys. I have like um I have like plans for next year uh to do this because right now I kind of exhausted the main focus for this year and I want to like make it more broad. We definitely like I said I'm I'm repeating this because I'm you know uh adding myself a reminder um because that's a major objective for us after Cubicon Salt Lake City to contribute to that. So after CubeCon select city obviously with a breather probably in December we'll be like kicking it off next year and going uh I mean we will push it to actually publish this. So uh I would like like right now if you guys have time obviously please feel free chip in add as much content as you want and from next year I actually want every single at every single uh meetup we have online meetup is to allocate a chunk of time and to actually polish and go through the this document. Um but uh you could help run the pavilion on the floor um the kiosk that we have for the neurodiversity group uh and be an advocate uh at the event as well. So there's a lot of areas.
