We're living through some pretty crazy
times here in uh in Israel. So, I
thought I would uh take a moment out
from the craziness to uh uh show the
decks, monitoring decks I put together
last night, the channels I'm looking at
for uh keeping up to date. Uh this is
XPro for those wondering. It's um what
Tweet Tech morphed into. It is paid only
um but it is a really useful thing when
so much news is breaking on Twitter. So
this is my main Iran Israel thing,
keeping the top level uh information. Um
and I red alert given that we're based
in Israel, the red alerts are really
useful to know. Uh we get them from our
phones and TVs and the physical sirens,
but it's I like this Twitter feed from
ID IIL Red Alert. Times of Israel is
really stellar. I really appreciate
their reporting. It's kind of pretty
down the middle. Um, they're pretty
quick as well without being overly
noisy, which is a really hard balance to
strike for any news organization and
feed. Uh, this is my own little uh
monitoring OSENT hack. Um, the rainians
are giving numbers to all their launches
for Operation True Promise. Um, so I
have a keyword search. I think the
actual keyword combo here is True
Promise 4 and Wave. And then when they
announce that they've done a new wave,
you kind of get a picture for exactly
what they're what's coming or what
they've just launched into the air. Um I
think they're up to wave 19. They got to
22 last year for those wondering. Kurds
in Iran uh for keeping track of the
Kurdish um element to this specifically
which is very much breaking. And
[snorts] you can see from the uh the
time stamps here how noisy how much
discussion there is about this at the
moment. uh Jerusalem because we live in
Jerusalem and when there is when we hear
bangs in the sky uh literally this gives
you a pretty quick uh way to to just
focus on this. Although generally
speaking when the rockets go off uh
monitoring dashboards are the last thing
anyone thinks about but they are useful
if you want to just when you can get out
of the safe room to see what's going on.
Okay, Osin sources have their place for
sure and open source intel is a true gem
of a Twitter account. Osen 613 um really
does a great job at sifting through and
giving very quick updates on um on stuff
a little bit quicker than the news or
beyond the news. Osent one is a Twitter
list I put together with my favorite
Osent accounts um and again really
useful. Osent defender, grade two, Osent
technical, and these two on the right,
um, Andrea Stricker and David Albbright.
Um, these two are representative of the
informed commentary from
non-prololiferation experts and they
often, especially David here on the
right, they uh give really detailed
analysis of satellite imagery to
actually get a um and he he he gives
these kind of very strong takes on
what's why he makes what's actually um
in the news and gives that that good
kind of additional layer of not just
here's what happened, but here's what
the significance of these actions
appear. appears to be um Israel,
government of Israel. I like to just
have one that I get the official news
from the Israeli government because so
much information, misinformation and
disinformation is flying around. Uh so I
have the IDF in uh English and Hebrew,
Pikuda, RF, the homeront command, the
prime minister's office, and the prime
minister, the go. So all the official if
you want to just see what the official
reaction is of Israel, then this is a
this is a way to do it. military
analysis. So, there's a few accounts
that really dive deep on the military
aspect of this. Um, in addition to the
OENT accounts and um the war zone is is
a really interesting publication.
They've really
informed reporting from uh staff by a
lot of former military people and um
they give often the dimension about the
specifics in terms of like what was
used, what is the significance of
different strikes. So, I I like their I
like to follow them. Institute for the
Study of War or um ISW does a really
brilliant daily brief um about Israel
that ties everything going on together
and gives you that kind of CITRA style
reporting or situational report.
Likewise, Israel Alma, they're very
they're traditionally very focused on
the northern front. Um but again staffed
by I think their founder is like a
former uh intelligence person and they
give again that just like extra layer
where
um you're getting a bit more precise
information than than maybe in the in
the top level news. Uh finally military
official sentcom are pretty active and
it's good to have sort of an account
that you know is like official US
government especially when there is
misinformation about who's striking the
US and what they're doing. IDF likewise
uh English and Hebrew generally pretty
similar but sometimes you'll see
different messaging um for different
audiences in different geographies um
and the Israeli Air Force as well IIAF
and finally important also to see the
the propaganda
um Iran is very active in the propaganda
war and it's good to see kind of what
they're putting out some of it the the
English stuff has to be assumed to be
for misinformation intended for an
international audience. Um, and then
Tasnim, sorry, Tasnim, they're um just a
few of them here. They're their Farsy
accounts um can be translated. And this
one is a little bit um the this is
basically the the regime propaganda. And
then you have Ilmayadin
uh for a basically his bulla mouthpiece.
Um, and um, I think there's value in
these sources to see exactly how they're
reacting and trying to spin things as
well as keeping keeping up to keeping up
to date with uh, the less extreme parts
of the tweet Twitter Twitter e
ecosystem.
