Video summary
The video begins with an announcement regarding a giveaway for a Nintendo Switch 2 before diving into recent leaks and news surrounding the upcoming console. A significant portion of the discussion focuses on newly revealed details about the leaked Pro Controller, which features a distinctive black, green, and gold color scheme celebrating Zelda's fortieth anniversary. While some images were enhanced with AI to better show the controller popping out of its box, additional evidence from leakers confirms that Nintendo is indeed involved in this special edition release. The cryptic model number mentioned by insiders decodes to represent the Switch 2 Pro Controller, further validating the authenticity of these leaks and building excitement for the hardware's launch.
In addition to console rumors, there are promising developments regarding software ports and new media projects. Developers from Crimson Desert have confirmed that their game will be ported to the Nintendo Switch 2, targeting a release in the first half of 2027 after completing foundational technical evaluations. On the cinematic front, reports suggest that The Legend of Zelda movie is being actively planned for around 2027, evidenced by its presence at licensing events and upcoming merchandise announcements tied to the franchise's milestone anniversary. These updates indicate a robust pipeline of content coming to the new system shortly after its release.
The news segment also covers several major titles arriving on the platform later in 2026. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set for an October launch with a trailer depicting a darker narrative involving war on the Korean peninsula, while Final Fantasy Resonance returns to turn-based RPG roots with HD-2D visuals and cinematic pixel art. Furthermore, the Switch-exclusive title Orbitals has been highlighted as a perfect use case for Game Share technology, allowing local multiplayer without needing multiple copies of the game. With these diverse titles ranging from action shooters to strategic RPGs, the Nintendo Switch 2 appears poised to offer a rich library of experiences across various genres and release windows.

We are giving away a Nintendo Switch 2
right now. In order to enter, you can
click on the link down in the pin
comment or the description. The only
requirement is to be subscribed to the
channel. We'll be drawing the winner on
October 1st. All right, guys. We got to
go ahead and get into today's news. We
have a even better look at that leaked
Pro Controller for the Nintendo Switch
2. So, we're going to be checking that
one out, as well as some additional
evidence that it is real from another
leaker. Uh, we also have a smidge of a
leak for a Zelda movie sort of
advertisement. We got to take a look at
that. Uh, Crimson Desert developers talk
about the game coming to Switch 2 next
year. That's right. We got to go over
that. Call of Duty, which is coming out
later this year. Modern Warfare 4, we
have a new trailer and an update for
that to go over. We have some news on
Final Fantasy Residence to get into. And
Switch exclusive orbitals, which
releases very, very soon, also gets an
update as well. So, we have some good
stuff to get into. Let's go ahead and
dive into our first story that deals
with the Zelda stuff. So, here we have
that leaked pro controller with a better
look at it. This is obviously edited a
little bit by AI, but it gives you a
really good look at it popped out from
the box. You can really get a good look
at all of the details there, as well as
the back. Again, obviously, you can see
the missing light. This is obviously
edited by AI. This is not what it's
going to look like 100%. It's just based
off of the box and obviously having AI
mess with some things, but it does look
quite nice. And I got to say as an
onlooker here that I'm really excited
for uh what this is going to bring us.
And obviously we just got to see the
price. But if you want more evidence on
this being real here, we mentioned
yesterday that Nintend was part of this.
And here is where he was part of it. He
put out there the 0084Z
col,
G, G. And here's what he said. It looks
like the 40th anniversary special
edition console and controller fully
leaked. For anyone curious about the
cryptic post he made, here's what it
meant. be 008 equals Switch 2 Pro
controller model number. The 40Z is
Zelda's 40th and the B GGG is black,
gold, and green. And these are the
actual leaked images that we talked
about. And when you get the controller,
you can see it definitely is black,
green, and gold. That is the theme.
Look, black on the left, green on the
right, gold. So, you get it. You
understand it. That's what he was going
for. So, again, Nintendo's also got a
really, really damn good track record.
So, we have every reason to believe this
stuff is legit. We also have a reason to
believe this is legit. This is for the
Zelda movie. It looks like, you know,
they must be planning the show fairly
soon, probably during Zelda's 40th
because they're advertising it now here.
Uh, so this is uh from, you know, a guy
named Daniel who's at, you know, going
at Peter Mog saying is at a licensing
con the biggest event and business
meeting for brand and character
licensing in Latin America. And the
movie of The Legend of Zelda is making
his presence felt at the event. Hold on
to 2027 because a movie and lots of
licensed products are coming your way.
Okay. So, basically what he's saying is
at a con that has a bunch of licensing
stuff, uh, this is there and with this
being there, it is a sign that there
must be a bunch of movie merchandise
coming in 2027. None of the movie
merchandise, as far as we're aware, is
being shown off at this event. So,
you're not going to see any leaks, but
obviously companies are willing to
mention and are allowed to mention now
that they do have the movie licensing
rights for whatever. So, guys, we just
have to look forward to a lot of that
stuff. Some of it could get announced in
the Zelda 40th event whenever they
decide to do that. Or maybe none of it
will be announced till next year, closer
to when the movie comes out. I guess
we'll have to wait and see. Uh, next up,
the Crimson Desert dev has commented on
the status of the Switch 2 port. And
yeah, guys, it's no longer just like a
pipe dream. It's coming. Uh, it's
targeting the first half of 2027. So,
Pearl Abyss has commented on the Switch
2 port at Crimson Desert, providing the
most encouraging update we've had so
far. In the latest earnings letter, the
company said it is now currently
playable at a foundational level and
technical evaluations are underway to
ensure the performance optimization and
compliance with our quality standards.
The other important piece is the first
half of 2027. Here's the full note. It
says, "We are striving to make Crimson
Desert available across as many
platforms as possible. However, platform
expansion is not merely a
straightforward port. The key
requirement is ensuring the game's
graphics, combat, action, and seamless
open world experience are fully
preserved on each target device. In the
case of Switch 2, while optimization is
required, the game is currently playable
at a foundational level and technical
evaluations are underway to ensure
performance optimization and compliance
with our quality standards. While it is
difficult to confirm a definitive launch
schedule at this time, we're working
towards a release target for the first
half of 2027. We'll provide updates
through our official channels once
details are finalized. So again guys, it
went from R&D to hey, now it's coming
out first half of 2027. Guys, I've kind
of known this game is coming to Switch
since last year. They've been working on
this port for quite a while. Uh it's
really exciting. Obviously Kiwi Talks
came in and exclusively dropped the news
on our Nintendo
tonight. We have another episode with
Super Metal Dave coming on and Shadow
Fox Infinite. If you don't know who he
is, you're about to find out. He's got a
lot of uh stuff to say and some deep
knowledge of the industry. Uh, next up
we got to talk about Call of Duty
because a new trailer dropped. So,
here's that new trailer, but it's about
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 and uh, we
got to look at some new stuff here. So,
uh, we're going to go down to, uh, the
trailer aspect here. It says Call of
Duty Modern Warfare 4 launches for
Switch on October 23rd. This is a look
at the campaign, a first look. Uh,
pre-orders for the console are going up
and all of that. And we're looking at a
traffic trailer. Actually, it's what
we're technically looking at here. Uh,
and just to kind of remind you guys
about, you know, what the actual game's
about, you know, war erupts on the
Korean peninsula. North Korea launches a
full-scale invasion that threatens to
destabilize the world of Call of Duty
Modern Warfare 4. A young squad of South
Korean soldiers fights to survive on the
collapsing front lines while a half a
world away vengeful Captain Price wages
a personal war from the shadows as he
stays one step ahead of those hunting
him. As Price's offbook mission collides
with the forces behind the invasion, the
war spreads beyond anyone's control.
Modern Warfare War pushes the series in
the darker and more dangerous territory
where consequences and escalation bring
long-running storylines to a powerful
and emotional breaking point. So yeah,
guys, look, Call of Duty is looking
really, really good. Uh, obviously, you
know, I want to go hands-on with it. I'm
supposed to be part of a play test for
the Switch 2 version, and I think I'll
get to go hands-on again with it at PAX
West potentially. So stay tuned for our
coverage on that. Uh, and what you can
actually enjoy right now is our coverage
of Final Fantasy Residence because we
have an extended gameplay look here. So,
have a look. Uh, and it says, you know,
making the franchise's return to
turn-based RPGs and its debut in HD 2D
visuals, Final Fantasy Residence is
coming to Switch 2 and Switch on October
22nd, 2026, and has just received an
extended gameplay video you're watching
right now. Now, it's a 16-minute video.
Uh, so guys, you're not going to see the
whole thing here. If you want to watch
the whole thing, you'll have have to
head on over to IGN's video on this.
We'll put a link down in the
description. But here's some general
information about the game for those
that don't know anything about Final
Fantasy Residence. So, return to the
pixelated world of Final Fantasy in this
evolution of its classic roots. Embark
on an adventure with allies bound by
fate and summon visions to aid you in
battle and uncover the truth behind a
force threatening to plunge the world
into ruin. Now, there are there is
cinematic pixel art. So, what if Final
Fantasy had continued to push the
boundaries of pixel art? Final Fantasy
Resonance, the first HD 2D Final Fantasy
title in our portfolio, delivers a
stunning visual experience that blends
nostalgia with the new enhanced by
dynamic camera angles and pixelated 3D
models that make every moment more
dramatic and immersive. So, this is a
return to the familiar with a classic
adventure RPG unfolds in a world filled
with beloved elements from the Final
Fantasy universe such as airship,
crystals, espers, and moogles are just
some of the many elements woven into the
story, exploit enemy weaknesses, as well
for strategic turn-based battles to
stagger them and break their defenses,
granting you extra turns, and an
opportunity to dominate them with
powerful resonance attacks, all in
cinematic battles driven by a smart
choice. Now, there are some legends in
here. So, strengthen your party with
visions, echoes of beloved Final Fantasy
characters who fight alongside with you
with unique skills and abilities
offering a high degree of customization,
and look, a ton of side content. So, the
world is filled with secrets, including
the wandering swordsman, Gilgamesh, the
coliseum, an arena featuring deadly
monsters and rewards to match, the
chamber of arms, a chamber filled with
formidable enemies sealed with legendary
weapons, and a confrontation with the
ultima weapons. So yeah, man. You know,
there's going to be some manufacturing,
some mini games, and all this stuff,
guys. There's just a ton a ton of stuff
in this game. You guys should definitely
go check it out. It is on my to watch
list. Uh and we'll see if I end up uh
picking this one up for myself. Uh it
won't be this year, obviously, but I do
have a giant list of games I plan to
purchase from this year, next year. So,
this is on that list. Let's see if it
continues to stay there. One game that's
also on that list is Nintendo Switch 2
exclusive Orbitals. And now we know why
it was made for Switch 2. So an orbital
Orbitals dev on why the game was made
for Switch 2. So here is from the game
director Jacob Lundren and he said this
in a new interview. So when it comes to
why we chose the Switch 2 for Orbitals,
remember it is an exclusive guys. I
think it makes a lot of sense. One of
the reasons is because when you play a
game like this, if you play it locally,
you only have to buy one game and we
want that to be the case even if you
play together with someone online. So
that's where game share comes in and it
kind of becomes the perfect fit for a
game like this because you just buy one
game and then you can use game share in
order to share it with someone else. And
even when we're developing the game, we
use game share a lot in order to test
the game. And the funny thing that
happens is sometimes being a game
studio, there's controllers everywhere,
but sometimes you just can't find one
within reach. So then we'll just grab
another console and we'll just use GameS
Share instead to play together. So Game
Share seems to be a really big feature
for them when it comes to orbitals. Uh
guys, obviously uh some people went
hands- on with it. Stash went hands- on
with orbitals back at Summer GameFest.
He dropped a preview. I'll link to that
down below if you guys are curious what
Thunder Stash Gaming. Had to think about
it as someone who actually went hands-on
with it. Uh this game comes out
September 3rd. So again, it's right
around the corner. Uh it's, you know,
the next big Switch 2 exclusive game
coming out. It's not made by Nintendo,
but from what we can tell in all the
previews, it seems to stand up to that
Nintendo like quality we've come to know
and love. But again, it's not made by
Nintendo. The game's not out. Maybe
there's some major issues. I doubt it,
though, because all the previews are
just I don't know, glazing the game, I
suppose, but seemingly deservedly so.
Uh, we'll find out on September 3rd or
obviously when reviews drop. Anyways,
we'll know if it's a broken mess uh
probably the day before or two days
before that. All right, guys. That's
going to do it uh for the video today.
Not, you know, the most jam-packed news
ever. We don't have 20 30 minutes of
news here, but hey guys, we have a
massive 4 hour plus podcast coming the
night. We got to talk about a Nintendo
Direct that's coming up. We got to talk
about the Zelda 40th anniversary coming
up. We have a lot we actually need to
get into. Some some particulars within
the game industry, especially with the
price increase coming for Nintendo
Switch 2 and more. There's just a lot to
go over. We have guest Super Metal Dave
and Shadow Fox Infinite coming on. Hope
you guys come to check it all out,
including guys some updates to Switch
too around ray tracing. We're going to
be talking about that as well. There's a
lot in tonight's episode you're not
going to want to miss. So hopefully I'll
see all you guys on the next episode of
the Nintend podcast. Otherwise, I'll
catch you in a new video tomorrow.
