Video summary
The vlog documents the creator and her companion Celia's arrival in Nice, France, as they begin their weekend getaway near Monaco. After landing early in the morning and navigating passport control, they settled into their hotel before enjoying a scenic lunch by the sea with coffee and matcha tea. The creator expresses immense delight over the city's architecture, which blends stunning mountain views with coastal scenery, noting that despite some ongoing construction due to it not being peak season yet, the area remains incredibly clean, safe, and inspiring. She highlights how much she loves this location compared to other cities they have visited together in Paris, emphasizing her deep affection for Monaco as a favorite destination where Celia also has strong local ties from her previous work at a law firm there.
As evening approaches on their first day, the pair heads out to explore the nightlife starting with drinks at the iconic American Bar inside the Hotel de Paris, followed by dinner at Gaia. The creator shares humorous anecdotes about her outfit malfunctioning in public and taking photos while sober to ensure they looked good for social media posts. They spend time admiring the beautiful surroundings of the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel area, which features exclusive venues like Jimmy's club and Coya restaurant that are currently closed for winter but offer a private beach during summer months. The night concludes with lively music at the bar before they retire to rest after what promises to be an eventful day filled with dining, shopping plans, and partying.
The second day begins with bright sunshine and warm weather reminiscent of top-tier French summers, allowing them to enjoy outdoor activities without needing heavy jackets. They indulge in more pastries and drinks while planning their next moves, including a trip to the Villa Ephrussi restaurant on what turns out to be their final full day before heading home. The creator reflects fondly on how this visit feels like coming full circle after missing an opportunity to stay with Celia during the 2020 lockdowns due to travel restrictions at that time; instead, they used FaceTime dates from Brighton and are now finally reunited in person exploring these beautiful locales together. Despite experiencing a severe hangover early morning which left her unable to eat breakfast initially, she quickly recovers enough to enjoy another visit to their favorite bakery for croissants before embarking on a short train ride to explore nearby cities like Menton or Villefranche-sur-Mer as part of their day trip itinerary.

Fine.
But then why is that a thing for you to
go down and swim?
You're sunning?
Sunning makes messages to the
population.
>> [laughter]
[music]
>> Making my way downtown, walking fast,
faces passing, I'm homebound. I love
that hair.
So beautiful.
This is a little Japanese garden that
we're walking by. They're doing some
refurb.
It's so beautiful.
>> [music]
>> It's like I'm sure I'm bugging out, but
that my life has changed. So,
we've had to stop on the side of the
road because honestly
This is the bakery we went to. Ro-
Rubuchon?
Rubuchon? Did I pronounce it right?
This is a pain au chocolat almond.
And my life is changed
forever.
Oh my god.
No nuts. No.
By the way,
that ice matcha
Is that coffee good? Have you tried it?
It's really hot. I'm going to wait for
>> [music]
[music]
>> I'm not sure how much you'll be able to
hear over the buzz of the city, but it
is currently 4:30 p.m. And Celia and I
landed in Monaco, well, we landed in
Nice
at
11:00 a.m. local time. And by the time
we got to our hotel,
um
Actually, now I'm thinking we got here
at 10:00 a.m. No, we got here at 10:00
a.m. local time. And then there was a
bit of a queue in passport control, like
10 minutes,
10 15 minutes. So, by the time we got to
our hotel, it was around 11:15
a.m. And we just left our stuff, went
for a walk, had a beautiful lunch by the
sea that you guys saw. We had um coffee
and well, I had matcha, she had coffee,
and the life-changing croissants. I
actually cannot explain to you guys how
incredible that croissant is. Like my
mind is blown forever.
Um and yeah, I'm just honestly just
taking in this view because the
architecture here is really pretty. I
know some people don't like skyscrapers
and like man-made
like things getting in the way of
beauty, but obviously on this side there
is also mountains and then there is also
sea view. They're doing a little bit of
construction here because obviously it
is not like peak season, but some of you
might be saying why you're here. And
it's actually because we I come here in
peak season as well, but we live really
close to Monaco. It's one of my favorite
cities and Celia speaks French. She used
to work in a law firm here, so she knows
the city quite well. I would say I know
the city like quite well for a tourist
level. Um and we just love it. We've
done Paris together before, but we've
never done Monaco. So, here we are
and we're here for the weekend.
So glad to be here and I just love it.
Every time I come here, I feel inspired
and it's really beautiful. We walk
through the Japanese um
the Japanese gardens, like we walk by
the sea and it's just really nice. It's
really clean, it's really safe and it's
just an
awesome place. If you live here, like
lucky you. Um because even today when it
was meant to be cold, it's like I think
between 16 to 20 degrees and I've had to
like take off my coat whilst I'm walking
cuz I've been too hot and just be like
short sleeve.
So,
yeah, it's beautiful.
So, it's 4:30 now. We've just got back,
almost 5:00. I'm going to have a nap for
about an hour. Celia's going to do some
work. And then we're going to get ready
to go to the American bar. It is at um
Hotel de Paris, which um I stayed at
before with my sister Sinead and I
blogged that before. If you guys want to
see a similar blog of a stay in a
different resort, you want to see that
one as well, I can show you. This is the
Monte Carlo Bay Hotel. I would say this
hotel is really good because it's got a
club in it called Jimmy's. It's got
Coya. Both of these are closed for the
the winter season, but if you're coming
in summer, it's also got a private
beach. Um so, yeah. Inside we're going
to the American bar, which is inside
Hotel de Paris um for drinks and then
we're going to Gaia for dinner.
And then we're going to have a good day
and you guys are going to have a long
one with me. So,
we are at the American bar, very iconic.
It's
so beautiful with the casino.
There's like live music [music]
and we want to take pictures with both
We're too We're too sober Yeah, I think
so. To make
To make the pictures turn out so good.
And my dress is like riding up every
angle, even though it doesn't look it.
When I got out the taxi, I was like,
thank god no one Honestly, thank god no
one saw that because my the shoulders
were off and the top was falling out,
the bottom was rising up. I was like,
lord.
Giving the wrong impression. And
we're both black for the whole weekend.
>> [clears throat]
[music]
>> And we want to
It's gorgeous.
>> [music]
[music]
>> What should we have for lunch? What
should we say?
>> [music]
>> Made it to our dinner.
Had to force our way outside for a
table.
Cannot wait to eat here.
So glad.
I'm just going to shake, shake, shake,
shake, [music and singing] shake, shake
it out and shake it out.
You know I love a double.
>> [music]
>> Oh, my double's gone.
>> [music]
[laughter]
[singing and music]
[music]
>> Quite iconic. This is our hotel.
>> [music]
>> Very cool.
Day two in Monaco and it is sunny.
Celia keeps trying to act all drivers
like we just see
Sorry.
And yeah, she had to push all the
buttons.
I'm sorry.
Um but this is actually stunning.
There's so many beautiful places to come
and eat and I can't believe this is the
weather.
Um
it is nice and warm.
It's giving top of France in summer
weather.
Like we're warm and it's not jacket
weather.
So, this is the food.
Looks stunning.
It's so beautiful here.
And the weather is
stunning.
Come here a little.
Look at you walk.
This is our outfits, by the way. Should
we show?
And then she did you?
We've got these new sunnies.
And uh
just enjoying the sun. Probably going to
get a croissant cuz
we can't All we do is eat.
And drink.
>> [laughter]
>> And consume. And then we're going to go
shopping.
>> [music]
[music]
>> Just scouring around town.
Having a little vino break.
Well deserved.
Um when Celia worked in Monaco in 2020
was 2020 or 2021? 2020. 2020.
It was obviously COVID and lockdown. I
was meant to come and stay with her and
and explore and I couldn't, but I used
to encourage her to come sit in this
coffee shop in Brighton. So, she used to
come and then she'd put me on FaceTime.
Yeah, true. And we'd have FaceTime
dates.
And it was like I was here. So, it's
very nice and like full circle to be
back here together.
Um
Oh, no. Sorry. Okay, I'll leave that.
Um Like see that.
Yeah.
So, we've come to a different city
today. Guys, I was violently hungover
this morning
and
Yeah. last you say, we drank
insane amounts of champagne.
And yeah, now we're at Well, this
morning we went for breakfast at the
same place we went to yesterday.
It was beautiful, but I couldn't eat cuz
I literally felt sick.
Um and then we we lay a bit horizontal
for a little bit and now we're going to
the Villa Ephrussi. Restaurant. So,
just come on a little day trip on our
last day.
Such a gorgeous day. It's found a casino
here.
This is a really pretty city and it was
only a like 10-minute train ride
>> Yeah.
from Monaco.
Look at that.
