Video summary
The video features a detailed review of the Toyhax decal set designed for the Transformers Age of the Primes Monstructor combiner. The reviewer begins by showcasing the individual component bots before and after applying the decals, which come on sheets featuring both foil and vinyl backings. The six separate figures—Icepic, Slog, Wildfly, Bird Brain, Scowl, and Bristleback—are examined closely to demonstrate how the stickers enhance their original paint schemes. For instance, Icepic receives new gold visors and teal accents that improve his reptilian appearance, while Slog gets detailed purple foil decals on his gills and chrome highlights on his axe. Similarly, Wildfly's gargoyle form is upgraded with red eye decals and metallic details on its massive blaster, transforming the figure from a somewhat plain beast mode into a more vibrant character.
The review then shifts focus to the second trio of bots: Bird Brain, Scowl, and Bristleback. These figures also undergo significant visual upgrades through the application of specific decals that add color and definition to their sculpted details. Bird Brain is given a new red visor and chrome highlights on his missile pods, while Scowl receives purple foil decals that fill out his stomach section and enhance his wolf-like features. Bristleback is highlighted as a particular favorite, gaining gold visors, teal chrome accents, and Gatling gun details on his head in beast mode. The reviewer notes that although some transformations are tricky or the figures do not always peg together perfectly, the decals effectively mask minor imperfections and bring out the intended design elements of each bot.
Finally, the video concludes with an examination of the combined Monstructor form and its weapon accessories after the decal application. The massive combiner receives unique additions such as red eye decals on its head, a black crest on its chest, and various metallic and colored accents that tie the individual bots together into a cohesive unit. The weapons, including the Halberd and the large blaster, are also significantly improved with new crosshairs, heat suppressor details, and foil elements that catch the light beautifully. The reviewer emphasizes that the decal set successfully adds personality and depth to the Generation 1 inspired toy, benefiting every mode from individual robot forms to the final combined state. Overall, the Toyhax set is praised for its ability to elevate the aesthetic quality of the Monstructor line, making it a highly recommended addition for collectors looking to customize their figures.

>> Patriot Prime
Transformers.
Now, we'll kick things off by taking a
look at the individual figures first.
And straight out of the packaging, we
have Icepic, Slog, and Wildfly. So,
taking a quick look at Icepic first.
He's some sort of reptilian creature
with spikes on his hands. Not a lot of
paint applications. We got a big purple
Decepticon insignia right there on the
chest. The monster face has yellow eyes
and a blue jaw. Little yellow right
there for the fins. Moving on down,
let's see, we got some yellow on the
sides of the legs. And that's about it.
He does have this mace weapon that's
done up in a solid gray. Now for
transformation for ice pick. Pay
attention. This one is hard. Take the
monster head and flip it back. Then
you're going to rotate these spikes on
the hands around.
And there's Icepic in his robot mode.
The only thing different now is the head
sculpt, which is a red head, yellow
visor, and gray face. And then he has
this shield fist section, which is done
up in painted gray. It's yellow painted
gray. And that's it. And you're supposed
to put that in his hand, where he's
holding it like a shield. But I guess if
you flip the fist around, you got like a
blaster right there. So he's got a mace
and he's got some large
hand cannon, if you will. So there is
Ice Pick. So now let's take a look at
Slog. Looks like a golden gamaran guard
from Return of the Jedi. Uh let's see.
He's got some yellow eyes, purple gills.
Uh the weaponry is done up in gold and
yellow. And he has this axe that's gray
and silver. He's got a very hard
transformation as well. Take the legs,
rotate them around, and bring this
section down here. And then you'll
rotate the arms. So you now have fists
facing forward.
Remove that weaponry. And there's Slog
in robot mode, revealing a robot head
that's done up in black with a light
green visor and a yellow mouth plate.
Big Decepticon insignia right there on
the chest. His robot mode or excuse me,
his beast mode sucks, but I do like his
robot mode. Let's put his weapons back
in his hand so you can take a look at
that. There's also some paint
applications right there on the side of
the arms. So there you go. There is
Slug. And now we'll bring in Wildfly,
who has this gargantuan blaster, which
just looks ridiculous in his beast mode,
which is some sort of gargoyle. Now, the
weapon's done up all in that gray
collar. Let's see. Take the weapon out.
Love the gargoyle. He looks so cool. The
paint applications, especially on the
face with the eyes and the teeth. Some
paint applications there on the
forearms. And I believe that's it.
Another simple transformation. We're
going to flip the legs around. Bring the
beast head down, revealing the robot
head. And there you go. Great looking
head sculpt. I love those red eyes and
that silver face or gray face, excuse
me. Lots of sculpted detailing. We got
Decepticon insignas there on the wings.
And that's pretty much it. So, let me go
ahead and give him his big old blaster
back, which looks a little bit better in
his robot mode. So, there you go, guys.
There is Icepic, Slog, and Wildfly
before
and after. Let's start with Ice Pick
once again. First, bringing him in for a
closer look. He gets a brand new gold
visor, new decals for the chest that
includes an optional Decepticon
insignia. Now you have a big decal here
for the main part and then two smaller
decals that go on these red hinges for
the bicep. He gets a foil teal decals,
foil teal for the hips, some gold on
either side of the knees, and that's it
for robot mode. Let's go ahead and get
him transformed into his beast mode real
quick. Removing the shield. Oh yeah,
show off show off the club here, which
gets new teal decals on the circles on
each side along with a new yellow circle
around the tip. Let's see. Let's go
ahead and flip out his spikes and do
this hard transformation. We're going to
flip up this monster head.
And there's Ice Pick in his monster
mode. He gets new gold eyes, a new
chrome teal jawline and new decals for
the frills. And let's see, chrome decals
for his spikes that look great. I love
how those catch the light. And then
everything else we've already seen. I'll
bring in the shield real quick, which is
the fist gun, which gets some decals,
but I'll go over that more with
Monstructor himself. Now, let's bring in
Slog. And Slog gets a brand new teal
decal for his visor. New decals for the
chest. You have a Decepticon insignia
here. And then a larger decal that goes
on this black section. New gold decals
on the shoulders. And then down here on
the forearms. For the shins, we get new
gold decals as well. A silver decal that
goes along the red that the figure
originally had. And then for the
weapons, the axe gets new chrome red
highlights in those recesses. And that's
it for robot mode. Let's remove the
weapons and get him transformed into his
whatever the hell he is.
And there we go. There's his beast mode,
which gets new gold eyes. New black
decal up here for the crest. new purple
foil decals on all those gills. Now,
there are lots of decals here. You got a
larger decal that goes on the main gill
section, and then there are smaller
decals that fill it in. So, once you get
that all done, that looks really good.
There's new red chrome decals on either
side of his gut. And we've already seen
the decals for the legs. So, there is
Slog. Now, let's take a look at Wildfly,
who gets brand new red eye decals that
really catch the light. So, we got new
red eye decals for the bot mode and the
beast mode. New red decals for the
shoulders, silver decals down here on
the shins, and then decals for the wings
here on the inside. And let's get him
transformed real quick. I will show off
the weapon decals. You got some black
right there inside that pipe. new
metallic decals for the scope and you
can see the crosshairs right there on
the tip of the scope. So there is
gargoyle mode and he gets new decals
here on the back of the wings. Got one,
two, three on each side with a longer
decal that goes right there and a
smaller decal for the tip. New purple
decals on the sides of the legs and
silver decals on the bottom of the feet
that now make it look like vents for the
beast mode. So pretty cool. I love the
looks of wildfly. Let's see. Take his
head down. There we go. So yeah, there
he is in his gargoyle mode. So there you
go guys. There is Icepic, Slog, and
Wildfly. After
next up for the individual bots straight
out of the packaging, we have Bird
Brain, Scowl, and Bristleback. Bringing
Bird Brain in first. He is a wild
looking monster. He's some kind of bird
thing. He's got a great looking face
sculpt with the red eyes and the beak,
little batwing things on the ears. Love
the sculpted detailing on that. Massive
rocket launchers on his back. Done up
all in gray, but the rockets themselves
are yellow. And that's it. Lots of great
sculpted detailing on this figure.
Really like him. So, his transformation
is a little bit more wonky than some of
the others. So, we're going to remove
the rocket launchers first. Then, we're
going to kind of bend him down. Let's
see. Bring these wing things up out of
the way. Bring the arms up and around
and snap him in half. This figure drives
me nuts because he just does not peg
together. Well, go ahead and peg him
together here. And then we're going to
flip this section out forming the legs.
And let's see. Bring this down.
And there we go. There is bird brain in
his robot mode. Uh some more paint
applications have shown up with the head
sculpt, which is kind of a weird looking
face. Red visor, yellow face. We got
some yellow for the chest along some
silver. Little Decepticon insignia right
there. More yellow on the knees. And
then he can wield these massive
blasters. Let's see.
I guess you peg him in. Oh yeah, there's
pegs right here. So you peg those in on
the side of his arms like so,
which still looks absolutely ridiculous,
but I dig it. That's cool. All right,
our next one up is Scal, who's some kind
of
wolf monster thing all done up in yellow
with the nice purple. He's got really
nice purple for the head, the arms, and
the back section here. And he's got this
weapon that just fell right off his
back. Love this. It's some kind of
scythe silver blade. And you got the
gray handle. It's also got a little
yellow sword. Purple Decepticon insignia
there for the chest. Got a little bit of
red right there. Robot mode. Let's go
ahead and get him transformed. Pretty
simple. Once again, we're going to flip
these legs around. And I like this. You
split the robot head, the beast head. If
I can get my fingernails in there. There
we go. Split that wide open, revealing
the robot face, which has red eyes and a
green face. I do like that. And that's
about it. There's no real new paint
applications for robot mode. Let's go
ahead and give them his weapons back.
So, yeah, I dig the weapons on that guy.
So, there is Scal. And lastly, we're
bringing in Bristle Back. Has a gold
turtle shell. Little bit of silver right
here on the front. Big old hand cannon
mortar launcher on his back. Color
scheme for the lower part looks really
good with the blue. Love the face sculpt
with the orange eyes and the silver
tusk. Getting him transformed. We're
going to remove that part. Flip the legs
around
and bring these over.
Bring the arms out and around. Bring the
head down revealing the robot face which
is all blue with an orange visor. gray
face, purple Decepticon insignia right
there. And let's rotate that around so
it looks better. So there you go. Not a
lot of paint applications on
Bristleback. And of course, you can give
him his hand cannon to wield as well in
robot mode. So there you go, guys. We've
got Bird Brain, Scal, and Bristleback
before
and after. Let's take a look at Bird
Brain first. Starting with these big old
missile pods that get some highlights
that go right around the missile. So,
some nice looking chrome that really
makes that look a lot better. I'm going
to go ahead and take these off for the
rest of the look at robot mode. Bring
them in for a closer look. He gets a
brand new red visor, a new purple decal
that goes right here, new Decepticon
insignia on the waist, new yellow and
silver decals above the wrists. Moving
on down to the legs, he gets some gold
right there for the kneecaps, and some
yellow and silver right below the knees.
So, now let's get him transformed into
his beast mode. We'll go ahead and flip
that head up. So, for beast mode, he
gets a brand new gold chrome beak, some
red eyes, some highlights that go right
around the shoulders here on the front
and on the back side. He gets some
highlights as well. You got a circle
decal, a decal that goes right down the
center, and some black. And you see the
decals from earlier for the legs. Now,
we'll reattach these rocket pods so you
can check these out in beast mode. You
also see some decals here on the back
that we'll go over more with
Monstructor. But there is Bird Brain all
armed and ready for battle and looking
pretty sweet.
Now, let's bring in Scal. Starting off
with his weapon cuz I'm going to get it
out of the way first. Gets a new red
decal that goes right in that recess
that really makes that pop along with
some yellow decals that go right there
on either side. Now, a sword doesn't get
any decals at all, which is unfortunate.
And then taking a closer look at Scal.
Brand new eye decals. A new Decepticon
insignia for the chest. New purple decal
here, here, and multiple purple decals
that fill out this stomach section.
There's also new red foil decals that go
right there on the chest on either side
of this hinge. The forearms get decals
as well. Moving on down to the legs. Big
purple, yellow, and silver decals on the
shins. Really makes that pop. And that's
pretty much it for robot mode. Let's get
him transformed into his wolf monster
mode. Close up the head. Wolf monster
doesn't really get anything other than
some new eyes and new details for the
lower jaw. kind of gives him a trap jaw
look. There's also little decals right
there on either side of the head. And
that's it. This back section gets some
decals as well. I'll go over that more
with Monstructor. And then finally, we
have Bristleback. I love what they did
for him. He really I think he's my
favorite of the bunch. He gets a brand
new gold visor, new decal for the chest
with a new Decepticon insignia, some red
decals right here with some silver, some
teal chrome decals right there. The
shoulders get new decals as well. Moving
on down to the legs, we got some more
chrome teal and some gold chrome for the
legs. Uh his weapon, you do get a decal
right there on that blaster section.
Now, let's get him transformed into his
war turtle mode. And thanks to the magic
of editing, here he is in beast mode.
Now, the beast mode head gets brand new
gold eye decals and some more chrome
teal that really adds some nice
highlights. I love the ones above the
eyes. He also gets Gatlin guns on either
side of the head. How cool is that? This
is one well-armed turtle. Here on the
sides, we get new decals right there.
More decals here on the joints of the
legs. You see the decal right here on
the front leg, two on the back, and then
you have a decal that wraps around the
knee section. On the back is the gold
chrome that we saw earlier. And then of
course you can take the weapon and mount
it on his back just like so. So there
you go guys, there is Bird Brain, Scowl,
and Bristleback after in combined mode.
Straight out of the packaging,
Monstructor looks really good and a
great homage to the original generation
1 toy. Now bringing Monstructor in for a
closer look. Let's check out that head
sculpt. Normally, I'm not a fan of the
IDW look, but I think they did
Monstructor some justice with that
skeletal face. The helmet's all done up
in yellow. He's got some bright red eyes
and a gray face. And you can see the
molded in teeth right there. Looks
awesome. Now, the chest is Slo. You can
see Slog's monster head right there. You
got the purple gills. Lots of sculpted
in details right there. Uh the torso is
bird brain. Now, we do have a new
accessory here with this ab section,
which is the bronze and silver and red.
I do like the looks of that. And then we
got purple and black thighs. Moving on
down to the legs where we've got scowl
and ice pick. Not a lot of differences
right there. The arms of course are
bristle back and wildfly. Little bit of
paint applications here. And really,
that's about it. We've pretty much seen
everything that Monstructor has to offer
thanks to the individual bots. Now,
let's bring in the combined weapons.
We've got the big Hallebert, I believe
that's called, which looks awesome
combined. The whole shaft is that light
purple. We've got the silver blade here
and here with the yellow sword on top.
And then we've got his big blaster,
which is a combination of Wildflies two
guns. So there you go guys, Monstructor
before
and after. Monstructor is an absolute
beast now thanks to toy hacks. Now most
of these decals we've seen before with
the individual robot modes, but
Monstructor himself does get a few of
his own. Bringing him in for a closer
look. Let's start with the head. Trying
to focus in here. He's got brand new red
eye decals and a new red and black decal
that goes inside the mouth. And I love
how that makes the face look now. That
is awesome. Also, here on the back, if
you bring Slog's legs up slightly, he
now has either missile pods or lights.
So, I really like the looks of that.
Speaking of Slog, you can see his red
chrome decals now make up Monstructor's
chest. Then you got the purple chrome
here that was on Slog's head along with
the gold eyes. And you got the black
crest that really makes that whole chest
area pop. Now, as far as bird brains
concerned, the only real decal we're
seeing with him is the Decepticon
insignia on the waist. Moving on to
Wildfly, we've got the head of the
gargoyle, the decals inside the wings.
Now, here on this yellow fist section,
we've got the purple stripe that goes
around and a red and purple section
right there. And then on the fists where
the guns are sculpted, there's like heat
suppressors and that's on both fists.
Really like the looks of that. On
bristle back, we see all the decals that
we've seen before. Moving on down to the
legs with Scal. He has this back plate
section now that has lots of decals with
some red and silver purple. There's some
little yellow decals that go in those
little purple hole sections and a new
decal right there with a Decepticon
insignia. Slog's foot plate gets a
yellow decal. Moving on over to Ice
Pick, he gets a red decal. And then you
can make out all those awesome chrome
enhancements that he has that just
absolutely work so well with
Monstructor. Now let's bring in the
weapon that just looks amazing all
decaled up with the red highlights. You
got the purple here and or is that teal?
I'm so color blind when it comes to
looking through camera, but I love the
way that foil catches the light. Looks
so good. little yellow highlights right
there. I do wish there was more decals
for the sword. But man, that just looks
so good. And then we've got his blaster
now that has the metallic on the scope
along with the little sight section that
gives that a little bit of extra look.
And oh yeah, there are some black decals
that go right in there around that pipe
section to kind of give it more of a 3D
look. So there you go, guys. Monstructor
after
