Meet the CUTEST Laughing Kookaburra Ever +RARE Black Palm Cockatoo! | LA Pet Fair Vlog
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The video documents an exciting visit to the Los Angeles Pet Fair, where the creator showcases their booth for Parrot Station amidst a bustling event filled with reptiles and other animals. Despite initial struggles setting up the display area until early afternoon, the team successfully engages visitors by highlighting various bird toys and merchandise available at parrotstation.com. The atmosphere is lively as the creators navigate through different sections of the fair, including the popular reptile building which draws large crowds, while managing their own busy schedule to film content for viewers who have been waiting for updates on Jackson, a black palm cockatoo.
A significant portion of the vlog focuses on interactions with Jackson and other birds from Birds Out Loud, an organization dedicated to community outreach and helping owners build healthy relationships with parrots. The video provides detailed descriptions of Jackson's silky feathers and his affectionate nature as he cuddles against the creator's chest, offering a rare glimpse into this specific species for those who may be visually impaired or simply curious about their unique texture. Additionally, the footage captures encounters with other birds like Josie, an older cockatoo rescued from Florida, and various reptiles such as kingfishers that eat mice near river banks, emphasizing the diverse array of animals present at the fair.
The narrative takes a humorous turn when the creator reveals they brought home a live chicken named Debbie instead of buying another bird for their mother, much to her initial surprise given her fear of snakes and other pets. The video concludes with playful moments involving Rocky receiving praise commands like "proud bird," enjoying treats from sponsors like Chewy, and sharing free food items received at the event. Ultimately, the vlog serves as both an entertaining look behind the scenes of a pet fair experience and an educational resource for potential parrot owners to learn about proper care through community engagement rather than past mistakes.

Ty just called me and said nuts.
>> No. No. I don't need nuts right now.
They're They're closing up and they said
we could play with the black palm
cockatu. Who needs nuts? You can buy
nuts anywhere.
>> No,
>> I think we should get mom a snake.
>> I mean, I don't mind having a snake. Get
one that's not going to grow big so that
way we can know that if we let it loose
in the house.
>> Okay. What do you think, Rocky? You want
one?
>> What do you think?
>> There's also a plant building.
>> There is. Oh, this is much bigger. Yeah.
>> Oh, yeah. You get your mom one of the
small ones.
>> We're not getting a snake. George, we
have like three of these at home.
>> No, but we could trick your mom though.
You got one right now.
>> I know. Oh my god. I'm filming. Is that
okay?

>> I am. But
>> I'm the star. You just need to take a
picture.
>> Oh, guys, guess what? That's where I've
been. I've been not making videos cuz
George has been in training. I quit. He
thinks it's real easy. So, let's see. He
doesn't even know how to stay in frame.
This is the fish.
>> Do we even need to see fish?
>> I do not care about fish.
>> I mean, I told you that we couldn't also
get into that. You want to get into
that?
>> No, definitely not. Let's go play with a
cockatu.
>> Where are we going?
>> To go play with Jackson, the black palm
cockatu.
>> Do you know Jackson personally?
>> I met him earlier today and he's
extremely sweet. The best loving bird
I've ever met.
>> Really? I've met a black pond cockatu
before, but I don't think I know he want
uses my bird connect right now.
>> Wow.
>> Oh, you're so beautiful.
>> Look at the chicken.
>> You just have to look at that chick.
>> Look, look at the chicken.
>> I know. Jackson is with Birds Out Loud.
I know they had like a whole beautiful
setup today. Want to tell us about birds
out loud? We do a lot of community
outreach. Our goal is to engage the
community in how wonderful these birds
are and hopefully help owners or future
owners of birds have an engaged,
healthy, balanced relationship with
their birds to lower the chances of
recombing or just behavior problems in
general.
>> Can people reach out to you guys when
they're having issues with their birds?
>> Absolutely. We help a ton of people with
behavior issues. Zach loves to be pet
and cuddled.
I'm checking out the snip.
>> Oh, cuddles.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> No, Jack. Jack.
>> Jack. Oh, Jack. His feathers are very
silky.
>> I learned the other day that I have some
viewers that are blind and they would
like me to describe what is happening.
So, right now, I'm holding a black palm
cockatu who is extremely silky. He's
putting his head into my chest. He likes
to be cuddled. He's just I mean silky
like silky like you know
>> but he is all about people and
attention. So for him to be this quiet
as well is he is so I can play with him.
He's cool.
>> He's baby. Don't worry.
>> Did you see that?
>> He's like that's my dad. Yeah.
>> I get it, buddy. I get it.
>> He is so healthy and so taken care of.
His feathers are pristine. You want to
hold it?
>> He's like, "What is my dad doing?"
>> He lived. Did you hear him?
[Music]
Ty also abandoned Josie for
>> He didn't abandon her. Hi.
>> Still here.
>> You're so pretty.
Yeah.
[Music]
>> Pink baby.
>> Okay.
>> Hello. He's so cute. Hi.
>> We all act like we never seen birds
before.
>> That's what Jack does.
>> She is 45 years old. She
>> Yeah. She was brought to us from
Florida. A lady was moving into a
retirement home.
>> You don't look 45.
>> She's looking good, right?
>> She looks
>> I think she did look older before like
but you know she was eating different
stuff before.
Wow, you're so good.
>> Yes, a good boy.
>> Oh, mom would love to shake that.
>> It doesn't look like a parrot.
>> The same way. You
>> see his face?
>> Uh, they do like a little smaller.
>> I always wanted a silky chicken.
>> We should get a silky chicken.
>> Okay.
>> Wow.
>> See how jealous you got? I don't blame
you.
>> It's like a pillow case. A pillow. Like
inside the pillow. It's not like goose
down. It's chicken down.
>> Love you. What? The reptiles were so
boring.
>> I went out there. Everyone's here for
them. And then he calls and he's like,
"Come see the song back." I'm like,
"We're leaving." I'm like, "How is that
even half as interesting being in the
reptile building?"
>> Go say You'll never believe what Marlene
and George bought. And then I'll bring
it.
>> Hey, Maurice.
>> They bought another bird.
>> We did not buy another bird.
>> They bought another bird.
>> I swear I don't see any
more. Don't hurt.
>> What are you doing with that? That's a
chicken.
>> What is it?
>> A chicken.
>> What are you doing with
>> No, I don't want a chicken.
>> Eggs are expensive.
>> You wanted Oh my god. You bought it from
you ducks.
>> We're going to get two of them though.
>> Where are you going to put it?
>> Outside
>> in your new house.
>> We called dad and he said he wants
>> No, I'm not having
>> It's not like a duck. Look, he like to
be like No, I'm not holding.
>> No, I'm not getting attached to Oh,
would you get attached? That's so cute.
It's cute and everything, but no. What?
You bought the ticket?
>> Yeah.
>> What are you crazy? Why you don't have
enough?
>> This is going outside. I don't care
where it's going inside, outside.
>> We're gonna get eggs out of it.
>> Mom. That's what it name is.
>> What?
>> Debbie.
>> Oh my god. This is Debbie.
>> I'm sorry. I wasn't talking to you.
>> Go get Go get her. Get her. Catch her.
>> Go get her. Yell. Go get her. We'll suck
her.
>> Hey. You mean to say while I was busy
packing, you were busy buying a chicken?
>> What are you nuts?
>> Huh?
>> You got a bunch of things you guys going
to never
Why?
>> I didn't we didn't get a chicken. I
brought it to show you.
>> Oh my god.
>> Cuz I thought you would like it. I said,
"Can I show my mom?" And she said,
"Yeah." But not in the backyard.
>> No, it's not for sale. Mom,
>> she's cute. She's very cute.
>> He's cuter than she was before.
>> He's very soft and cute. Thank god she
won't be in the back.
>> Up, guys.
>> Okay.
>> Look who I have. Will he jump?
>> Hi.
>> You ready? You want to do it? You ready?
Here we go. Do it. Here we go. Come on.
[Laughter]
[Music]
>> You're so cute.
>> You want to hold them? Yeah.
>> Okay. I got to hold him.
>> Okay.
>> He's like a duck.
>> Come from
>> What does he like and not like?
>> He loves dead mouse.
>> Dead mouse.
>> Oh, he eats a dead mouse.
>> What's that?
>> You have to give him a dead mouse.
>> He eats dead mice.
>> The teacher.
>> Are you seeing this
>> look
dead? They live like at the river, the
bank river. So, you know, lizards,
snakes, mice.
>> No her when she's saying this.
>> I'm sorry.
>> They're a king fisher. So, they hang out
in like the river banks and stuff. So,
like lizards and mice and snakes and
things like that.
And they have a completely different
texture of feathers.
>> Very soft.
>> Yeah. Beak, right? Like a soft bill. It
meets like that, but the the insides on
top and bottom are like sharp.
>> Wow.
>> Feels like um I met a crow that I got to
hang out with. And the crow was also
much softer than you would ever imagine.
Like
it's like a step down. Does he know
commands like step up like and things
like that or do you always just got to
cup?
>> He does, but he uh the reason we got him
is he was born with like a wood. So, uh,
that's why we have him do that. He'll
find a comfortable spot on there, and
that's why he doesn't have a tail. Now,
I'll have like another 4 in tail, but he
spends a lot of time in the bottom of
his cage to get his foot,
>> breaking his tail off all the time. So,
it just looks like a big fat potato.
>> Big fat potato. They should have called
you a couch potato.
>> It's interesting how the color is like
inside his eyeball, but the outside is
so rounded. If you hit the light right,
it'll irresectively go blue. And that's
what you know the voice these
are. So that goes blue. Yeah. You see
that?
>> The white feathers go are kind of like
blue. You could tell. Are you ready?
Woo!
You're probably going to get the last
one the whole weekend
all weekend long.
>> Good boy.
>> He's tired. You can hear it in his
voice.
>> You don't have to be doing that. You go
sing, but we love it. It's so cute.
You're a good boy. What does he like
praise like? Does he like you to like
cuddle him, hold him, talk to him, cheer
him?
>> Feed him.
>> He likes him.
>> See, Rocky likes when you tell him proud
bird, he lifts his wings and he does it
for the clap. Like Rocky, proud bird.
Proud bird. Yay.
>> Good boy.
>> Do you want to hold him?
>> Yeah. But I'll let her guide you.
[Music]
>> So, she has like ability to reach in
with her feet to get into holes and to
grab things.
>> How many mice a day does it eat?
>> Uh, depending on time of year,
two twice a day.
He's so cute.
>> I never saw anybody as cute as you. What
a dream.
>> Thank you for that.
>> What an amazing experience.
If you could tell anybody anything about
them or that you would want people to
know about any of the animals you have,
what would you want everybody to know?
get your information. There's a lot of
there's a lot of people out there
that you know that's
me just
if I want to shoot it in house. I'm
going next door down the street to the
guy in the house.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Talk to the people who live
it, breathe it, eat it, smooth it, you
know, and that's where you're going to
get like really good information and
maybe not make as many mistakes as we
have done in the past. Let learn from
>> Yeah. There's a lot of mistakes.
Those are hard to find. You never see
those
not
[Music]
ducky.
Oh. Oh, you're stuck in my hair, baby.
[Music]
>> Dude, who ate it like this? What is
this? What?
What is this?
>> What is that?
>> They gave me a free lemonade and a corn
dog.
>> Great.
>> Yeah.
>> Why? Because I brought the bird with me.
Rockies.
