Hello, I'm Serena from Hong Kong. Before
the MCL, I worked as a banking and
finance lawyer in Hong Kong. My work
focused on a range of commercial loan
transactions and other financing
projects.
I found the MCL very intellectually
stimulating and academically demanding.
The wide-ranging modules have offered me
insights into a various areas of
commercial law such as private equity,
leverage financing, and crypto assets.
Discussions with leading academics have
also provided me
invaluable insights into these areas of
commercial law.
The program also achieves a fine balance
between legal knowledge and practical
knowledge through the deals course. I
have enjoyed learning from leading
practitioners on the economic factors
and commercial elements behind
transactions.
The intensity of the program has further
pushed me to hone my adaptability and my
ability to digest readings quickly.
Outside of studies, my experience in
Cambridge has been life-changing and
special. I have
built wonderful friendships with the
other 21 classmates and other peers from
all around the world. I've learned so
much from them.
There were also exciting opportunities
happening all year round in Cambridge.
In particular, I have joined the Pro
Cambridge Pro Bono Project as a
researcher, in which I've enjoyed
researching on human rights issues.
I have also enjoyed going to formals and
college activities with my friends.
I would cherish these memories for a
very long time.
I look forward to going back to the
legal practice. I hope to contribute to
the legal community with the knowledge
and insights gained in the past year.
